Wyrm's Rock is merely a check point where you can find evidence of Banite worship amidst the Flaming Fist, particularly in the higher ranks. You can also find more people imprisoned with reasons such as 'inciting panic/dissent/disturbing the peace' when they simply spoke out against the change in leadership and all the new policies. If you have a Baldurian background, you will also see a childhood friend in the cells who's been in there for weeks for the crime of graffiti.

The Lower City sprawls as usual, but you hear more propaganda from speakers that twist the truth. The newspapers are silenced, forced to print out pretty lies. There's even talk of the Temples being closed as Gortash directs funds to the defense of Baldur's Gate (he simply wants them to worship the Dead Three, mainly Bane, by the time the Absolute plot is done with.)

You continue. You explore and learn more to the city, and on occasion a Steel Watcher will comment (their voice warped, lower, scratchier as if there's a thing in there that's gleefully watching you struggle and run around like a rat) on what you've done as you walk past; they do not say these comments in normal dialogue.

Upper City's gates are closed at first, but you make your way through by earning the favor of a noble opposed to Gortash's rule. They will say another noble family was slaughtered in a single (hello Dark Urge connections, you, the favored hound) and ask you to investigate the plot further. The first steps in the district are met with children wondering about the 'bad' person getting killed, then a crowd of protestors trying to stop the execution. You can help or watch it progress. The crowd watching the display will whisper Gortash's rule brings peace, and you see these people who have never struggled in their lives are desensitized to such gruesome sights. They don't want to see the violence nor the noose closing around their necks.

A disguised Banite cites the crimes, and if you pass a Religion check, you realize he speaks one of Bane's tenants as he tells people to obey, to work together to win this war. (If you are the Dark Urge and disrupted the execution, Gortash will later comment that you would've been the axe that split the neck so gleefully.)

More politics amidst noble houses, rumors to chase down. You can find smugglers carrying orders from Gortash. You can talk to people who believe him the best ruler Baldur's Gate could ever have. Everything is fine. The war will not reach the city's walls because he is here to protect us. If you stop the execution, resistance members will approach you. They are small, outnumbered, but determined to free their city from tyranny's grasp.

The coronation goes on as normal, but there's more emphasis that you are secluded here, stacked up against impossible odds as he smiles at you and offers a deal. Much later, in his study, you can talk to him over a glass of wine and as a servant comes in, tripping on themselves and spilling the food all over, Gortash will calmly address them. Tell them to pick up the knife and mutilate themselves, and they will do so while crying and whimpering in pain as he watches as if bored. Then, with that low, measured voice of his, tells them: There, that's better now. You've learned your lesson haven't you? Another mistake will not be tolerated.

As they leave, another servant comes in soon after to clean the blood from the stone floors. You know it's not the first time they were drenched in red, noting the older stains beneath the carpets.

If you side with him, he will send you out on some quests that will challenge your morals. Whether or not you really want to maintain this alliance with him as a iron-fisted regime takes place over Baldur's Gate. Where is the line drawn when it comes to a city founded by scoundrels and pirates? Where corruption courses from the destitute to the rich?

He will show you how corrupted the nobility are, how they squandered their wealth while the rest of the city suffered. The seeds of sympathy planted as he asks you to take care of them. Ah, but before that, there is a big festival to go to, the royal gardens made into a place of dance and song, and of course, political intrigue. You can dance with him here and discuss what you've found out about him and criticize his methods, and he will calmly address each point, further showing he is a reasonable and rational man who only wants the best for Baldur's Gate.

It's the slow build of dread. The atmosphere of a populace under tyrannical rule where nothing is out of place. There is no laughter in the bars of Upper City. The streets are quiet. Peaceful. There is nothing wrong in our beautiful city. You find out more about his rule, his past, and the horrors he's committed, giving you even more reason to abhor him, or perhaps join him. He brought order, maybe he can make the entire Coast a peaceful land, too.

💭 poison ivy #10-12

I reread poison ivy #10-12 before sharing my thoughts because I wanted a fresh perspective and a clear head. And here 🎶we don't talk about janet🎶. (okay, maybe just a little.) we talk about the story as a whole!

so what's going on in this arc? what are we doing here? ivy and janet have made a pit stop on their way back to gotham to scope out a "consciously capitalistic" wellness retreat. here ivy discovers her dangerous lamia strain has mutated in the wild.

thus, what initially appears to be another episodic environmental exploit becomes a deep dive into the consequences of ivy's actions in #1-6 and a test of ivy's recent growth.

at first, I felt a bit icky about ivy using the infected women as human shields against their will. it seemed so out of touch with her recent journey about control and bodily autonomy. but then I realized that's the point.

ivy has a history of puppeteering people with her pheromones to achieve her own agenda. this is a reflection of that. the horror that ivy displays at the near outcome along with janet's reaction show the reader that she has truly moved past that stage.

the following issue reaffirms this with the woman who chooses not to take ivy's antidote. this scene also helps to show that the effects of ivy's actions will continue to be felt beyond these issues.

I said we'd talk about janet a little bit, okay? everyone has their opinions about this. well, here's mine.

as far as #10-12 go, I don't mind janet's behavior here. all of these women have essentially been drugged and sexually assaulted by the woman who runs the retreat. (potentially straight) women who barely knew each other engaged in sexual activities under the influence. we can't blame janet for giving in to her feelings in this out-of-her-control situation.

and it is to be expected that drama will ensue now that that can of worms has been opened. how it's handled is still to be determined.

Laxus and the Thunder Legion joining Pegasus always interested me, so I'm curious. Do you see any of the Fairy Tail members actually fitting in any of the other guilds we know of?

Laxus and the Thunder Legion could should and would have joined Sabertooth in a truer canon, so jot that down.

Mirajane would fit in well at Blue Pegasis or Mermaid Heel, and Elfman would obviously be a shoe-in at Quatro Cerberus. The core cast is too close to Blue Pegasis to consider joining up with others, but I'd say that Gray and Lucy would cause delicious drama at Lamia Scale.

fun fact from what i recall, when the throuple was getting together - Meno and Alena were casually on/off dating - Meno and Hess were also casually on/off dating - while Meno was anguishing about which one of them to officially Choose, Alena and Hess meanwhile paired off together themselves and just. lmao dragged him over so. all that drama and for what!!

Adventures in the Astral #6: Funny Little Anecdotes (Along with the occasional bad)

Exactly what it sounds like, just small recounting of various fun instances that occurred in the astral in no particular order along with a few bad ones in a show of transparency that like life, the astral is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. At the very least, I can thankfully say the bad instances I've had are far and few in between and greatly outnumbered by the amount of good.

I also feel that a lot of these memories aren't really things that I feel would be long enough to justify a whole journal-esque post like some of the other things I've talked about.

1) The many times I have ended up underneath a pile of seals by playful members of my pod.

2) The time I got love advice from a djinn whose advice essentially boiled down to not have a harem because it was more trouble than it was worth. Specifically because a camellia demon that was in his old one started a bunch of drama and in-fighting that eventually lead to the collapse it.

3) The time I accidentally stumbled upon a duel between two giants and got tossed away by one. It wasn't an aggressive toss at the very least, she just didn't want me getting squished because of how tiny I was in comparison. Crazy twist? By the end of all that I was invited to dinner and spent that evening essentially eating the crumbs off their plates because of how big their food was.

4) The time I got my head cut off was not a good time. The consolation from it at the very least was that the person who did it was shocked that my disembodied head kept talking.

5) Tripping on my face and into the sand my very first successful astral attempt but hey a win is a win.

6) I once got confident in my ability to speak Japanese and my confidence quickly got This is Sparta kicked down a well when a kitsune replied in an ancient form of Japanese I couldn't understand.

7) I once got a bone reading done by an older lamia. I'll be keeping the results of that reading to myself but it was still a fascinating experience.

8) Buying floral jams from from a floral demon market. I've always wanted to try making my own rose jam, but I either never have the time or the right amount of ingredients. So I cut the middle man and got some astral-wise and took it back to my lovely abode.

9) Went to a floral demon opera house and I swear that shit changed my life. Prettiest performance I've ever seen, 10/10 wanna see again if that particular show ever comes back around.

10) Grew out of friendships over time but I still wish those individuals the best and hope their lives are going just fine.

16 - Least favourite episode(s)

Off the top of my head -- the troll episodes. Absolutely bizarre storyline. Why was it even a two-parter. (Although it does contain one of my favourite scenes, namely Merlin randomly popping out from under Arthur's bed). I don't like scatological humour so the farting jokes in the goblin episode were also painful for me to sit through. These episodes were mainly aimed at a younger audience so it makes sense that they were... the way they are, it's just a big tone shift.

The Lamia episode isn't that bad in comparison, and I actually don't mind the emotional whump, it just felt really really pointless, especially compared to the other episodes in the series.

A Herald of the New Age is actually a good episode but I think it's awfully placed within S4, to the point that I always forget it exists. It comes right after the whole Gwen & Lancelot drama, which gets picked up again in the following episode with Arthur's engagement to Mithian and it just... I don't know. I feel like it should have been put somewhere else. I don't dislike it but it's in the wrong place and it bothers me.

17 - Favourite character to write/draw

I've written almost exclusively Merwenthur, most of it from Gwen's POV (I think?) but Arthur's POV was the easiest out of the three, for some reason. Possibly because he loves Gwen and Merlin both, and so do I.

I've written a grand total of one (1) Merwaine fic but writing from Gwaine's POV was extremely fun. He's a fun character!

If it's favourite character to write about/describe, then probably Merlin. Especially when he's being shifty and/or weird. Which is probably why Arthur's POV works so well.

this is the first character consciously made to be an 'oc', as in I already saw the term being used somewhere. unsurprisingly she's for naruto. the second eviler version was made for fairy tail in 2014

eva has a few drawings to her name featuring thunder powers and teen drama, and while her character profile isn't much apparently she likes snow, lions and crab sticks

she got her teammates stolen by later characters which might explain the heel turn

This drama CD came with the 20th anniversary Betterman Blu-ray box, which also came with the the Juvenile Ver of both Yushao Tanjou and Chin Requiem, the versions used as theme songs for King of Kings.

2007: Deep Ocean

Sakura’s voice rings out. Lamia, still recovering from the battles of the last year, contemplates over the Limpid Channel what is to come. He recalls those lost in the battle against Kankel, Bodaiju, Pachira and Seeme, and resolves to do what he must. Sakura warns the Conqueror King is coming.

2009: GGG Marine Refuge Base

Keita is surprised to see Ushiyama Sueo, who he already knows, joining the ranks of Juvenile GGG, Sueo introduces his friend Mamoru, and Keita introduces his girlfriend, Hinoki. Mamoru recalls this first meeting with the pair, as he was making his journey to rescue the GGG members trapped in his home Trinary Star System.

2010: Private Izakaya Island

Keita grumbles to Mamoru and Sueo. Hinoki is at a study party, Keita grumbling she's probably being hit on by handsome guys. Mamoru misses Hana too, Keita becomes depressed when Sueo reveals Mamoru and Hana are actually married.

2010: Medical Area

Hinoki comes to check on Sakura, finding Akamatsu there. He has to remind her to call him Chief, not President. Hinoki asks about Sakura’s mother, learning she's alive but left them over Akamatsu's workaholism. Sakura briefly becomes agitated. Akamatsu asks Hinoki about Keita, she is uncertain how things are going.

Mamoru notes the Invisible Burst changed everything.

2012: Ushiyama 2’s Home

Keita visits Tsuguo as he’s moving into his new house with Ayame. Tsuguo asks about Hinoki, trying to push Keita to make things permanent before it's too late. As topics move to the Invisible Burst and GGG, Tsuguo tries again to persuade Keita to join, knowing Akamatsu would gladly have him, and a second backup Head Diver for Kakuseijin GaiGou would be a boon. Keita asks Tsuguo is he knows what happened to Hinoki's family, and explains he wants to give her a place to call home before he proposes, Tsuguo is impressed at his resolve at least.

2017: G-Island City

Mamoru and Hinoki are fighting to defend the City in Kakuseijin GaiGou, while Keita revels in his finally achieving his goal. Yewya awakens Lamia from a trance, he has been caught on memories of Seeme, Yewya understands his feelings as one who also uses Lume as Seeme did. They discuss the Conqueror King, and Lamia speaks to the assembled Somnium, reminding the time has come.

Keita sees the home he has worked 6 years to buy destroyed by a Zero Robo, becoming first depressed, then furious. Chandi suddenly appears, speaking over Limpid Channel, and presents to him Kakuseijin V2, introduces Kei, and has Mitsuo explain more, Keita eventually takes Kakuseijin V2, able to pilot it solo.

Kakuseijin V2 trashes the Zero Robo, and he is then contacted by Yamajii and Akamatsu, and after some back and forth, told to help Hinoki in GaiGo.

Hinoki launches Final Fusion into GaoGaiGo, but Tsuguo discovers the Super Neuromechanoid is being infected with a virus, and Yamajii reports the Second Order Room is working on sorting that.

As Hinoki struggles, Yewya asks Lamia if they should act to save the Somnium’s hope, but he argues someone else will save her this time.

Kakuseijin V2 arrives on the scene, and Keita takes Active Control, and raves about his proposal being ruined, stunning Hinoki as she hears about it, everyone else listening cheers or offers congratulations. Hell and Heaven plus Synapse Attack finish the enemies.

At this point, Lamia becomes Betterman Nebula, declaring the presence of a powerful enemy, Sakura screams as he uses Psycho Voice.

Mamoru recalls everyone was happy for Keita and Hinoki, though Keita was depressed over the failure of his ambition, Hinoki assures him he's all she needs.

Sakura warns the Conqueror King is coming, as Lamia witnesses it, King J-Der.

Sexuality Headcanon: She's simply not straight. And also homophobic.

A ship I have with said character: None. She doesn't even have "shippable" interactions with anyone.

A BROTP I have with said character: I LOVE her relationship with Prisca. Though, can I even call it a BROTP? Because it's not like I want them to get along; I'm very amused by how toxic they are to each other. It's so entertaining to read.

Furthermore, I think it's a crime that we didn't get to see her exchange more than around 3 scant lines with Vincent on-screen. Lamia genuinely appreciated Vincent for his abilities to some extent, and Vincent seemed to tolerate her at least. How dare you establish something like that between 2 characters I adore and then do almost nothing with it?! I need to see more of their dynamic, and I sure hope future material depicts it more clearly.

A NOTP I have with said character: I've only seen a few people ship her with Priscilla and... no, just no.

A random headcanon: Since she has some sort of gardening theme going on, I like to imagine she used to have a huge, gorgeous garden back at her mansion, and she was extremely strict with the gardeners she hired to maintain it. She's knowledgeable in botany, especially, as you'd expect, in poisonous plants, and even had some of them in her room.

General Opinion over said character: Favorite Re:Zero girl. I started reading EX 5 for Vincent, but I stayed for Lamia. I was in awe from the first moment I read her appearances. She's so charming and fun. Her boldness and mordacity, combined with her graceful conduct, are exquisite to read, and I support her rights and wrongs alike.

My only complaint is that she has so little screentime. How can you create such a fascinating character and then not use her potential?

That said, you have no idea how excited I was when she returned as an undead in arc 7. She's yet to reappear thus far, but I hope the author does something amazing with her; she's perfect for drama.

El dia qué te conoci, llegaste con miedo, panico, asustada.

Poco a poco fuiste tomando confianza, eras mas parecida a una estatua que a vos. Estabas 24 hs quieta abajo de la pseudo casita con sabanas que te arme, Hasta que al tercer dia recien que puse musica especial para vos, saliste a comer.
