Last night was our #dancecompany #banquet . It was my 7,947,294th it seems but my #twins first. Words cannot express how #proud I am of these two! An #autismspectrum diagnosis is something that no parent ever wants to hear. I hope no one ever does again. However, when a #warriormom stops at nothing to help her babies recover and lead to rescue, beautiful things happen. This is their 4th year of #dance . In these four years, they have performed on stage, they have attended dance conventions, they are in dance company, they have their own circle of friends that are their #dancefamily ... and they love it! They are experiencing teamwork, friendships and making memories that will last a lifetime. The sky is the limit. This is the first #morning in I don’t even know how long where we don’t have to be somewhere. You betcha I’m going to take the opportunity for a #familysnuggle . It all may look like #rainbows 🌈and #unicorns 🦄 on social media, and, a lot of times it is with me. Living an #autism 🧩journey, though, there are days that hit HARD. That would be today. NEVER would I wish an Autism journey on anyone. It had taught me an ENORMOUS amount, forcing me to grow in so many areas, too. My kids know no difference but, eventually, they will hear their story. Despite the countless accomplishments, Today, it has hit me real hard. The downside of the diagnoses are brutal. I wanted us to be able to upgrade our living situation. We have the house packed up which alters their own spaces dramatically. They start school - change. They start dance - change. It’s a LOT. They are so good and have come so far but today made it clear we are still on this path. God gives me an incredible amount of strength but, today, He allowed me to feel the power and weight of all there is. A friend from school posted this and it hit home.
