Todd And Julie Score $1 Million Settlement Amidst Conviction

In a surprising turn of events, Todd and Julie Chrisley, of “Chrisley Knows Best,” have clinched a substantial $1 million settlement from the state of Georgia. This legal triumph comes amid their prison sentences for involvement in a bank fraud and tax evasion case.

Key Lawsuit Allegations
The couple filed a federal lawsuit against Joshua Waites, the former Director of Special Investigations for the Georgia Department of Revenue. The lawsuit accused Waites of targeting the Chrisleys for state tax evasion charges due to their fame. The family’s attorney, Alex Little, emphasized the unusual nature of the criminal case, stating,
“This settlement is an encouraging sign.”

Misconduct Claims Against Waites
The lawsuit revealed shocking allegations of misconduct by Waites during the investigation. It detailed how Waites focused on the Chrisley family, particularly Todd and his estranged daughter Lindsie. The family accused Waites of attempting to use Lindsie to gain compromising information, even sharing confidential tax details. Despite the efforts, the Chrisleys endured significant personal and financial hardship.
“Ultimately Waites’s efforts failed, but in the process, the Chrisleys were forced to incur substantial personal and financial hardship,” expressed Michael J. Bowers, the Chrisleys’ former lawyer.

Settlement Outcome
The State of Georgia agreed to pay the Chrisleys $1 million to resolve the lawsuit. Little highlighted the rarity of a government arm compensating defendants while another fights to keep them in jail.
“It’s nearly unprecedented for one arm of the government to pay money to defendants when another arm is fighting to keep them in jail,” he remarked.
Current Imprisonment Situation
Although cleared of state tax evasion charges, Todd and Julie faced federal charges, leading to their imprisonment. Todd’s 10-year sentence and Julie’s reduced 5-year sentence are currently being served. The couple’s original sentences were trimmed in September 2023. An appeal of their criminal convictions is scheduled for April at the federal appeals court in Atlanta.
Family Reaction
Chase Chrisley, the couple’s son, expressed optimism on social media, calling the settlement a “small victory” and emphasizing their innocence. “Savannah Chrisley” urged followers to “open their eyes to the corruption occurring EVERY SINGLE DAY.”
In summary, the Chrisleys’ legal journey takes a positive turn with the $1 million settlement, offering a glimmer of hope as they navigate through a complex legal battle. The upcoming appeal in April will be a crucial chapter in their quest for justice.

-USA Residents Only-
Time Sensitive- Apply before August 25th, 2023 (8/25/23)!
Filing a claim takes less than ten minutes, and can be done HERE
Excerpt from article:
Anyone in the U.S. who used Facebook in the last 16 years can now collect a piece of a $725 million settlement by parent company Meta tied to privacy violations — as long as they fill out a claim on a website set up to pay out money to the social network's users.
The settlement stems from multiple lawsuits that were brought against Facebook by users who claimed that the company improperly shared their data with third-party sources such as advertisers and data brokers. The litigation began after Facebook was embroiled in a privacy scandal in 2018 with Cambridge Analytica, which scraped user data from the site as part of an effort to profile voters.
Meta denied any liability or wrongdoing under the settlement, according to the recently created class-action website. However, the agreement means that U.S. residents who used Facebook between May 24, 2007, and December 22, 2022, can file a monetary claim as long as they do so before August 25, 2023.
Please reblog to signal boost this! As many people as possible should know about this to make their claim, if you don't do anything you don't get anything. It takes less than ten minutes to file and pick your payment option including pay/pal and ven/mo .

A semi-brief rant about Chris Avellone and his legal settlement.  I am not a lawyer and nothing I say is legal advice, just personal observations based on the writing presented.
I read today that Chris Avellone got a settlement from his Illinois-filed lawsuit that forced the two women he was suing to officially retract their statements and allegedly “provides for a seven-figure payment that includes the return of the attorney fee award entered against Mr. Avellone.”
Not going to link any of the news articles, they’re all out there dated around March 25 or so.  What’s interesting is the chest-thumping of his supporters about how “he was acquitted” and “found innocent” and “his accusers should be jailed for their lies” and all that usual drivel.
For those not in the know: Chris Avellone is a video game developer and writer, who famously worked on games such as “Planescape Torment”, “Icewind Dale”, “Fallout New Vegas”, “Divinity Original Sin 2″ and other RPG gems.  He was accused of sexual misconduct back in 2020 and decided to sue his accusers in California court in 2021.  That lawsuit was appealed and defeated by California’s anti-SLAPP laws in 2022, so later in 2022 he filed a second lawsuit in Illinois Federal Court.  Before any serious progress was made on the case there was a settlement which seems to heavily favor him: his accusers have issued public retractions of their earlier statements, he may (or may not) be getting a seven-figure paycheck, and with this win he may (or may not) get back on the horse of writing up video games.
Just want to point a few things out about all of this:
The exact terms of the settlement are confidential.
“Provides for a seven-figure payment” does necessarily mean it was outright paid, it could be a conditional “if you do this then you pay” as part of the terms.  See “The exact terms” above.
“The accusers retracted their statements” does not necessarily mean they were lies.  Within the American legal system “the statements were retracted as part of a legal settlement” and “the statements originally made were true” are not mutually exclusive.
The refrain of “he was found innocent/acquitted” is not true, as this was a civil suit and there is no judgment of guilty or not guilty.
Directly related to the above, the settlement was reached before discovery phase, which means no final judgments of any kind could be rendered.
“This means he will work on <game name here> again” is also not necessarily true, as businesses may decide to not touch him.
So what happened?  I don’t know, and that’s kind of the point.  I could speculate until the cows came home and that wouldn’t mean any of what I said is true.  The ultimate truth is buried in the confidential terms of the settlement, which won’t be revealed unless one party breaks confidentiality...which would almost certainly cost that party dearly.
Is any of this going to stop Avellone’s fanboys from engaging in rampant misogyny and harassment campaigns?  Probably not, as they tend to believe whatever fits neatly into their own little world view.  But if anyone else was disappointed by this, including me, there is at least some wiggle room for comfort: just because this outcome happened doesn’t mean the original issue wasn’t real and it doesn’t make any guarantees for the future.

$787.5 MILLION DOLLAR SETTLEMENT
youtube
Now I need every person/family that has been harmed/killed by “Alternative Facts” on that network to continue to file suit.  You didn’t want Dominion to air your business for the world to see FOX but you are still liable for your actions.  You caused deaths and harm to many.

This is weird...
This morning, I had five emails from PayPal, each informing me of a partial refund from Lyft, all dating back to my Las Vegas trip in August. Don't get me wrong, happy for the money (and I checked my PayPal account, it's legit and not Phishing), but WTF?

so my anxiety has been going insane because since biden ended the covid extension of medicaid, i got kicked off state insurance and had to buy marketplace insurance. at almost $300 per month. they called me friday to welcome me and it turns out they have to approve my medication again even though i'm with the same company, and even if it is approved it will be $100 per bottle. i am 100% disabled without this medication, i cannot reliably do basic functions like eat or get out of bed. additionally, my job requires medical certification that i my condition is managed, which it won't be if i'm off my medication, which means that i will lose my job if i go off it. having lost my job, i will then be eligible for medicaid again, getting me access to my medication. with access to my medication, i am able to work. if i am able to work, i can't apply for disability because it's for people who can't work. once i work again, i'll be kicked off medicaid again, starting this whole mess over.
so, riddled with anxiety, i did more drawings.

In fact, Fox paid out $787,500,000.00 just so it wouldn’t have to reveal in open court how mendacious and duplicitous it is.
Though most Fox viewers probably wouldn’t really care anyway. It’s a lot easier to indoctrinate people than it is to deprogram them.
