8) Smell/personal scent

My HC is that Laylea is from Northern Thracia and grew up in Leonster proper. But her activities had her travel across the peninsula, and she eventually found her way to Yied and Miletos.

She smells of citrus. It would not only match her color scheme, but I think the areas she would be residing in, Miletos, Yied, and Northern Thracia, have warm climates that provide an abundance of oranges to use.

"Laslow!" Laylea was hoping to see him tonight. "Good to see you again, it's been too long. I'd like to dance with you again, are you available right now?"

"My dearest Laylea!" Laslow exclaims, sketching an elegant bow in greeting. "Aren't you looking positively radiant this evening! Look at that, we even sort of match." He gestures to the belt adorning her waist, then brushes his fingers on the coins around his own middle.

He grins, already reaching for her hand. "I'm always available for a dance. Doubly so for one with such a lovely lady."

[ ZOFIA ] - Modeled after an Archanean court dance, but with an energetic twist. The entire body is engaged with the dance, creating a spectacle that is enjoyable to watch.

The moment they step onto the sands, Laylea hones in on the dancefloor, slowly filling as people trickle in. "This is a fun song." She comments. "I think it'll make a wonderful first dance, as long as you can keep up with me."

Jauntily following Laylea along onto the dancefloor, where the beginning of an equally jovial song is playing, L’Arachel is quite excited to keep the party started. Especially with the encouragement of her companion, who seems just as eager to, as she heard people say, boogie down.

“I shall try my best!” She lets out a light laugh. She may not be able to fully keep up with someone so skilled at dancing, but she shall make darn sure she’ll do the best she can!

At one point during the dance, as she’s bending and turning her body like a flag in the wind, she takes Laylea’s hand, spins her around, and does a dip. A move she is told is quite the showstopper! As she holds Laylea like that, she takes her free hand and affixes a turtle charm to one of the Ivaldi stars on her partner’s dress, and taking a starfish in return.

“That shall give us a solid start on this game of trading charms!” She gives Laylea a fond smile before realizing the dip has been going on for too long. “Ah, let us continue with the dance. This is quite pleasant but I should rather think to admire you in motion.” She pulls Laylea back up, her face reddened.

"Oh!" Weaving through the crowds to get a drink, Laylea spots a familiar face. "You're Tine, aren't you? You look so lovely in that dress, it's so cute and elegant. How have you been?"

Tine wasn't expected to be approached first.

By anyone to be frank…

Still, despite the surprise, she is quite happy to see a familiar face.

"Miss Laylea? I -thank you."

Her cheeks are burning; she's horrible at this.

Calm down; it's alright.

"You look stunning yourself; the orange suits you wonderfully, as always."

She's all smile now even if still a bit shy.

"I have been well studying for one; the faculty and students are so nice, it's like a dream come true."

She knows that's not what the question really meant, but she feels sickened by any outright lie. She's not doing well overall, but there are still things that have been happening, which she treasures.

"I hope it's no insult to you, but there are a few people I want to seek before this night is over; if time allows, I'd like to dance with you later."

“Lene?” Laylea embraces her friend as soon as she sees her. “Oh my gods, I didn’t know you were here! How have you been? I’ve missed you.” 

Lene did not expect to find any welcoming faces upon arriving at the academy. Her reasons for coming were primarily greedy, so she should not be rewarded for said gluttony.

These were the concerns Lene held in her chest while making her first rounds across the school grounds. But in an instant, the fears are swallowed down at the calling of her name.

"Aaaa! Laylea!" Lene lightly exclaims in reaction to the fellow woman's wrapping around her. The green dancer's arms stay on Laylea for only a few extra seconds, soothed by the touch of a longtime friend.

"I just got here now! I could say the same for you! It's been forever!" Forever is a bit of a hyperbole. Laylea has been with Lene for most of her life, from their chance meetings within the Dahna orphanage to their victory in the final holy war. With that context, the two-ish years she spent closer to Ares' side rather than her old friend is closer to an eternity.

The embrace ends so Lene can respond to Laylea's question with a beaming smile. "Things have been good! I'm here to help Ares and learn some things myself along the way. Oh wait! You must be doing the same, learning-wise at least. Have you been here for long? You've gotta tell me all about this place!"

She leans in closer to Laylea for one last statement to top off her small flurry of assumptions. "And yeah. I've missed you too, Laylea. I'm really happy to see you."
