I love writing, seriously. I want to keep focusing on it like I am now. I don’t want to be distracted by anything else.

Pinocchio was by far one of the weirdest drama's I've ever seen.
Giving me very much Healer vibes, the drama had a great storyline and a very intriguing concept. The leads definitely had a lot of chemistry and I personally am a big (huge even) Lee Jong-Suk fan so I really have nothing to complain about ... apart from one thing.
*** mild spoilers ahead ***
Tumblr media
As much as I tried to get used to it, I could not, for the love of God, come to terms with the fact that the two main characters were brought up in this fantasy cosplay of uncle and niece. What made it even weirder and gave me the ick was the fact that even after they started dating, Choi In-Na (our female lead) would continue calling Choi Dal-Po (our male lead) unlce. And in front of strangers too. It just didn't sit right with me.
Tumblr media
And while I understand this could be a major cultural difference, it was the biggest thing that stopped me from rooting full on for our lovely OTP.
Otherwise, the drama was just right - it had the perfect amount of mystery and tension, with all the right twists and turns in all the right places.
And Lee Jong-Suk is an amazing actor who can bring any character come to life with just the perfect amount of charm and charisma!
Tumblr media
Parl Shin-Hye, on the other hand, took a little adjusting to. Maybe because this is one of her earlier works but she was a little awkward with her acting and at times it did feel as if she was reciting the script word for word instead of playing a character.
The girl also cannot kiss to save her life and I'm glad she was able to learn at least a few tricks from Mr.Flirt himself.
She did, however, manage to add an adorable charm to her character with the hiccups.
Tumblr media
The supporting characters were also very well though through. They each had their own unique storyline which was developed well enough.
My favourite character was definitely Seo Beom-Jo who underwent the most iconic character development. Even though I did spend the first half of the drama hating his guts, he's definitely someone to hold on to in the long run.
Tumblr media
In addition to Beom Jo, I also really appreciated Yoon Yoo-Rae's character who reminded me of myself when I first joined journalism school too.

Pinocchio was a gripping ride and proved once again that Lee Jong Suk is made for revenge dramas. Can't deny the fact that the side characters outshined the male and female leads. The redemption arc of Song Cha Ok was sooo satisfying to watch. Ki Jae Myeong was an equally interesting character to decode and showed how people aren't always necessarily black and white. Seo Beom Jo, however, remains my favourite as a modern day retelling of Prince Charming 💕 He has to deal with major upheavals in his life but he only emerges from that turbulence to be an even kinder and understanding version of himself. Dal Po's share of misfortunes was quite overwhelming and only made me sigh but Choi In Ha's crying made me literally want to break my television screen. Interestingly, if you trace the growth of Lee Yu-bi's acting career who plays Yoon yoo rae here, you will find that she keeps taking on similar roles, be it in Innocent Man, Pinocchio or Yumi's cells, and that might feel a bit monotonous.

More Lost Loves (6-10):
(6) Faith/The Great Doctor:
Tumblr media
The actor, Phillip Lee, suffered a major eye injury while on set so he could not continue his part. Thus, Dr. Jang Bin had to die.
Tumblr media
He was an exceptional doctor for his time. He was intelligent and caring and lived to learn. He was all about his patients and helping them the best way he could. I was saddened by his sudden death 😢.
(7) Gu Family Book/Kang Chi, the beginning:
Tumblr media
Kang Chi’s father’s death was 😢 sad and unnecessary. He was a Gumiho and Protector of the Mountain, a good soul, caring and helpful. Played by Choi Jin-Hyuk, Gu Wol-Ryung was betrayed by the woman (played by Lee Yu-bi ) he truly loved.
Tumblr media
They marry and he begins the process of turning into a human. When she sees him as a Gumiho , she runs away. He is mortally wounded and she leaves him to die. Because he didn’t complete the process of turning into a human, he becomes a Demon and now he is killing innocent people. He finds his love but she dies. He takes her to their den, lays her on their bed, he lays beside her and just simply ceases to exist. All of his pain and suffering was due to her selfishness, but he still loved her. I didn’t want him to die, I just wanted him to become ‘good’ again. I really liked this Gumiho!
(8) Goblin/Guardian: the Lonely and Great God:
Tumblr media
I totally loved the Grim Reaper (Lee Dong-Wook), especially when he and the Goblin would go at it. I was saddened by his death, but I do understand that he needed to be with his soulmate. Why did Eun-Tak have to die? She was reincarnated many, many, many years later, but the Goblin still suffered all that time from loneliness, all alone again waiting for her return.
(9) Iris, the series:
Tumblr media
Why did Hyeon-Jun have to die?? This death scene is one of the most riveting and shocking death scene I have ever seen. It literally took my breath away because it was so unexpected and it was so realistic, he trying to call out to her, to reach her. I was literally depressed for a week from just those last three minutes. I had been so happy that they survived and could finally be together.
(10) Mr. Sunshine:
Tumblr media
Why didn’t Eugene just stay on the train car with Ae-Shin?? I don’t think he had to sacrifice himself for her to live. I so wanted them to be together. This was another ‘end of the series’ death scene that caught me off guard.
More to come…..

It’s spoopy season! Okay, well it’s Halloween season. I thought that I would post and share my old Scholar Who Walks the Night art pieces. I’m rewatching this drama of Lee Joongi and Lee Yoobi for spoopy season, because vampires ok? Plus, JG is incredibly sexy in this drama. Sorry. Once a fangirl always a fangirl. I may end up doing a new one just because it’s Halloween.

Gu Family Book/Kang Chi: The Beginning:
My lovely Seung-Gi is in this one and with good reviews, I’m giving it a try. 😌 It’s starting out really slow but I finally made it to the part where the Gumiho, Wol Ryung, has rescued the girl, Seo Hwa.
08/14/2021: I understand that Gumihos are seen as monsters. But if they rescue you , treat you with explicite kindness and wait on you hand and foot to the point that you agree to marry them but then three months later shows his true self as a Gumiho while protecting you, I don’t quite understand how you can have the ability to betray this creature. I was never so happy as to when this bitch, Seo Hwa, was killed after giving birth to the Gumiho’s baby. Ugh…I feel as if she had betrayed me. I am soooo happy she is out of the picture now. Now is the beginning of Choi Kang-Chi……….
08/24/2021: Lee Seung-Gi plays this type of character with ease - causing havoc but getting forgiven because of his sweet, innocent face; and that smile, Oh, yes! I absolutely love Kang Chi and his sister, Chung Jo, and brother, Tae Seo. It’s really sad that he and his “sister” are in love with each other but because they were raised as sister and brother their relationship is taboo. The original bad man that had chased after Kang Chi’s mother, Kwan Woong, is now back and interested in Kang Chi’s sister. That evil bastard has now caused the death of their father who was the greatest man ever! The kindness he showed his people was beautiful and amazing. He shared his wealth with those around him and gave kindness instead of harsh punishments to those who were ‘bad’. Kang Chi started to attack Kwan Woong, but was ‘stabbed’ by the monk’s pitchfork and magically whisked away unseen. Kang Chi will now learn “what” he is.
09/04/2021: Seung-Gi is absolutely gorgeous with green eyes!! (as opposed to just gorgeous🥰) So along comes the female soldier, Yeo Wool, whose father owns and runs the martial arts school and is the one that killed Kang Chi’s father. She, of course, falls for Kang Chi and come to find out as a child Kang Chi had saved her from a wolf. He had told her, “I will marry you and protect you”. Kang Chi eventually recognizes her and he is now falling for her.
With their father dead, Chung Jo is sold to be a state ginseng and Tae Seo is tortured to the point of death and hypnotized to believe that Kang Chi killed their father. Yeo-Wool, the female soldier, soon discovers what Kang Chi is and she’s able to calm him down to the surprise of Kang Chi’s overseer, the Monk. Yeo-Wool also saves Kang Chi’s life several times, once even by removing the bracelet that keeps him from changing. He was dying and she risked her own life for the chance that he would heal and live. It worked and Kang Chi did not hurt her.
Kang Chi is able to rescue his sister, but they are caught up in the mountains, and having his bracelet removed, he becomes the vicious beast and wins the fight against 10 or more men. And, as expected, his sister turns away from him because he is a monster. Seo-Wool found his bracelet and Kang Chi has returned to the school looking for her.
09/07/2021: so very much has happened! The female leader of a Japanese family who is working with Kwan Woong turns out to be none other than Kang Chi’s mother! There’s a few scenes where she had to play the evil woman because of Kwan Woong being there, but you could tell that she loved her son. Kang Chi‘s father rose from his 20 year ‘nap’ and as he slowly loses his memories and becomes the 1000 year demon he begins to kill anybody that crossed his path. Kang Chi is being trained to be able to kill his father but his mother goes instead and with a special knife that she had saved that the Gumiho was supposed to use to kill her so he wouldn’t change into the demon, sacrificed her self and committed suicide. And the Gumiho returned to himself and laid on the slate next to his dead wife and that’s where he said he would be. Kang Chi was leaving the school to keep a prophecy from coming true, but thinking his absence would save Seo Wool, she ends up getting kidnapped by the Japanese.
