Requiem For Motorcycle Swap Meets?

Is it me, or are these events becoming less popular?

I was reminded this week by a good friend that "It's not the destination -- it's the journey." Still, I was expecting more after riding 150 miles to the Leesport, PA, Vintage Motorcycle Swap Meet.

A third of the vendors' stalls were vacant. Most attendees were of my vintage (those who remember watching The Beatles on Ed Sullivan). And there were noticeably fewer in number than I remember in swap meets past. More rare were their kids (grandkids?). I arrived at noon and some vendors were already calling it a day (the Saturday Meet opened at 8am).

Yes, I will keep riding to these events ("It's the journey...") if for nothing else than I might be needed to turn out the lights.

Of course! The first one is a bit different, I didn't edit it to be darker and I couldn't find the colored Leesport logo, and the second one I honestly couldn't be bothered finding the fonts for so I just used Times New Roman and Satisfaction.

Berks County Pennsylvania natives and the world’s oldest conjoined twins Lori and George Schappell have died.

Officials from Leibensperger Funeral Homes in Leesport confirmed Friday that Lori and George, who previously identified as Dori, died at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania on April 7. Their cause of death was not disclosed.

They were 62 years old.
