Today is National Lemonade Day! Bet you didn’t know that? We love Lemonade, not just because it taste good but because it can be used for good. Everyone knows the popular phrase; when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. There’s a lot of power behind that sentiment, the idea that our lives will not be perfect, bad things will happen. Sometimes things come our way and appear to be negative, painful, and useless, however we could turn these hardships into something valuable. And every time we turn sour situations into something sweet, we become stronger and more wise. In this way Lemonade is a metaphor for seeing things how they could be instead of just how they are and making the difference to change your situation. Tasty, and empowering! Now, that’s not the only reason we like lemonade. Lemonade means a lemonade stand right? One of the first opportunities for young kids to create a cute little business, raise money, and learn about markets and community engagement. Well, there’s been some beautiful twists on lemonade stands lately, with two foundations really leading the way, “Alex’s Lemonade Stand” and “Lemons to Lemonade”. Both of these organizations help young kids create impactful campaigns to sell lemonade and donate the profits to many great causes, from fighting cancer to homelessness, refugee issues, and about any other cause you might think of. Two years ago today, I found out I would be getting my dream job at the Canadian Cancer Society. Wow, time has flown like crazy!! I am so glad that I lucked out and landed not only working for an organization whose mission I genuinely care about and love, but I earned a spot on a team full of amazing people from whom I have learned so much. Here are my personal references for the three main characters (that are of course, not mine) of my Tsuyu-Centric fic series on AO3

It’s based primarily on the fact that Tsuyu Asui’s name is often replaced with her hero name, Froppy, in fandom spaces. I figure that is that were to happen in universe it would mess with her sense of self and thus the fic idea was born. Tsuyu Asui forgets her name.

Of course, my queer ass couldn’t help but include some of my fav ships as a polycule. It takes place when they’re all roughly 23 and Tsu has been on a mandated leave! I’m planning on writing more for it, but waiting for inspiration to strike.

Each character has scars from their hero work and are sooo cute and in love 🫶
