Warning: Angst. (fem reader) Atsumu is the new love interest
*****脳*****
You watched silently, thoughtfully and curiously as you boyfriend of six months talked to the pretty, round eyed, red head he always seemed to be around lately. She was just there somehow. Wherever he was, she was. And for some reason Kageyama never seemed to mind. He didn't like many people. You were an exception. One of the few exceptions. And you liked being an exception.
You and Tobio had known each other your whole lives. He was your best friend. Well had been anyway. The two of you had barely conversed in two weeks. You thought back to the first five months of your relationship they were almost a dream like, filled with endless laughter, soft looks, lazy mornings, quiet evenings. Somehow the setter became the favorite part of your day. He was a good boyfriend, a great boyfriend and you loved him. You've always loved him to be fair. But Kageyama always did like pretty things.
He was the best, so therefore he wanted the best and you.. You just weren't it. You weren't an All A student, you weren't as beautiful as the girls he'd dated before, you weren't athletic but those were never things that bothered you, that is until he started mentioning them "Babe you'd look so much nicer if you just did your hair correctly" "Honey if you just applied yourself more you'd get As. You're just lazy" "Did you see Aiko won best female volleyball player this year? Man what can't that girl do? "
That's where it all started. Hamada Aiko. She was gorgeous, valedictorian, Captain of the girls volleyball team and two years older than you so her and Kageyama were the same age. When you and Tobio were best friends, before you confessed, he'd always watched her, talked about her but you were too in love with him to let it bother you. But now it did. She'd left to compete professionally overseas and when she was back her and your boyfriend seemed closer than ever. You didn't mind their friendship at first but you drew the line at the longing looks they seemed to share, the small private jokes they made, the way he always seemed so excited to see her.
It was breaking your heart and you knew you were better than this. You could no longer let him bash at not only your pride but your heart. Which is why you were standing outside the gym waiting patiently to talk to your clueless boyfriend.
"Y/n!" Hinata called out as he entered the center. You watched as your boyfriends head snapped up and his eyes met yours, widening slightly, almost gulitly and you smiled softly. "Came to visit?"
You shook your head "Another time maybe. Kageyama can I talk to you?" He seemed to jerk at the sound of his full name and you saw Aiko lower her gaze, not bothering to look at you. Guess that confirmed suspicions.
"Sure Cmon" You followed him to the locker room and he sat on the bench, you sat opposite him. You needed distance. "What's wrong?"
You glanced at him. God he was pretty. All dark and brooding. Like a storm with little traces of a rainbow.
"We should break up" You were proud of yourself. Proud of you for knowing you deserved better. Proud of you for no longer allowing yourself to play the role of his naive pitiful girlfriend. He didn't say anything for a minute, his eyes fixated on his sneakers.
"Is that what you want?" He asked.
"No" You smiled sadly "But it's what's best for the both of us. I don't want to hate you Tobi. I care about you too much and I've known you for too long, and at the rate we're going baby, you're eventually going to resent me from keeping you from who we both know you actually want and I'm going to loath you for always making me feel like a second choice. So we should end it before it gets that far. "
"You know I never meant to hurt you right? . You're the last person in the world that deserves to be hurt. I'm sorry y/n. I really am. But me and Aiko-" He stood and took a step towards you but you turned away slightly.
"I know. I know you'll be happy with her. I only ever wanted your happiness" You nudged his shoulder "I have to go. I have an extra shift. I'll stop by the apartment later to fetch some of my things"
"Hey wait." He mumbled softly "You know you don't have to rush. I'm not kicking you out. Where are you going to Stay? You really don't have to move out right away. Get things sorted, find a place to stay or I will it's no big d-"
"No its your apartment. Plus I want too. I need the space Tobi. My friends been looking for a roommate and I guess this is a sign you know" You hugged him quickly and turned towards the door.
"Take care of yourself Kageyama."
"You too. You know you can call me if you need anything Okay? Anything at all. Don't hesitate" didn't want to lose your friendship.
But you didn't. You didn't call him in four months and Kageyama felt like he was slowly losing his mind. Three weeks after the two of you had broken up, he and Aiko had started dating. But it had felt wrong. On the outside they seemed perfect for each other but on the inside..
She wasn't you. And it had taken him too fucking long to notice that she never would be. She would never have the time to go to his games and wear his jacket in the stands, she hated listening to him talk about volleyball since she played the sport and already knew everything there was to know. She never ran her hands through his hair or kissed his forehead when he was feeling down and she would face her back to him every night instead of curling into him like what he was used too.
How did he manage to fuck up so badly? Oh that's right, he thought because he was a fucking asshole who was more worried about reputations than substance. God he missed you. Not only had he lost his girlfriend but he lost the most important person in his life.
"What do you want to drink babe?" Aiko asked as the two of you walked into the coffee shop. Your hands were joined but she never interlocked your fingers. She held your hand the way a people who didn't know know each other held hands. Palm to Palm.
"Coffee. Black" She nodded like it was totally understandable and he hated it. Hated the the fact that she didn't tease him about his order matching his personality or beg him to try a drink with a ridiculous name.
"Just try it!" His head turned so fast he nearly had whiplash and he felt like he was hallucinating. Maybe the sleepless nights were getting to him because There you were. Pretty as ever, with your hair down and your favorite green sweater. God were you always this radient? Then his eyes narrowed and Kageyama felt his heart physically drop at the sight of your fingers, interlocked, with someone else's.
"Y/n for the last time I'm not drinking anything that goes by the name Pinkity Drinkity" The man next to you laughed and kissed your forehead softly "You get it and I'll try it from you"
"And what happens if you like it? I'm not letting you have my drink" You snarked.
"Sweetheart If I actually do like this godawful named drink I'll order it the next time. By myself, I promise"
Kageyama watched the exchange with unease. That could have been me. He thought bitterly. Yeah if you weren't such an idiotic fucking jackass
Your eyes moved and finally found his and they widened slightly and he was surprised at the small smile that tipped at your lips.
"Kageyama" You approached him, the man at your side walking behind you like he was on guard. You brought both him and Aiko into small hugs . He always could read your eyes. It was a skill he'd mastered over the years and currently yours moved to his and Aiko hands and back to him almost as if saying 'I told you so'
"It's good to see you both! Uhm This is my boyfriend, Miya Atsumu. Baby this an old friend of mine and his girlfriend" You said cheerfully and Kageyama wanted the ground to swallow Him. Old friend? He loathed the term
"It's nice to meet you" The Miya twin said begrudgingly. Not smiling but rather staring at you waiting to see if you needed anything. God, Tobio thought, the man looked at you like he would throw himself in front of a train if you asked him too. It was what you deserved. You deserved that unconditional, irrevocable kind of love and he selfishly he wished it was him who had given it to you
"You too" Aiko said cheerfully and leaned into his side. She loved pda but never displayed affection privately, which funnily he thought resembled their relationship. Perfect around others, unbearable when the two of them were alone.
"Well we'll see you guys around. It would be great to catch up sometime" He knew you didn't mean it. You had cut him out of your life completely. He deserved it. He knew he did. But fuck. He watched as Atsumus blank gaze softened lightly when you smiled up at him and he ruffled your hair lightly.
"Bye" I miss you, he said with his eyes. Come back to me
"Bye" I'm happy now, you said back. It's too late.
And Kageyama felt his heartbreak for the second time in four months but somehow this time he didn't know if it was capable of being put back together

Warning: fluffiest of fluff. and some cursing
*************
~Suna Rintar艒~
"Do you love me?" The middle blocker whispered into your shirt and you sighed at the feeling of his murmur against your throat . You were laying on the bed you shared, Suna had thrown himself on top of you and nuzzled into your chest the minute he had gotten out of the shower. Your hands almost as if they couldn't help themselves had tangled in his hair and you slowly ran your fingers through the dark mess, stopping occasionally to rub his head.
"More than anything" You whispered back and heard him mumble something as he pushed himself further into your chest. "I don't understand slur Rin."
You felt him lift his head so those pretty eyes could meet yours, his lips were pulled in pout that was unusual to him and you ruffled his hair playfully. "Cutie" You laughed "What's wrong? " You placed your hands on either sides of his face and rubbed the pads of your thumbs along his cheekbones.
"I heard some shit today" He said looking away in embarrassment. Now you were curious. It took alot to make Suna act like this. Things never really got to him so the fact that something did made you feel weirdly anxious.
"Yeah? What did you hear?" He met your eyes again and paused. Wondering whether or not he should tell you about the stupid plan your mother has come up with to get rid of him. He loved you. More than anything he had loved in his whole life. He wasn't used to expressing himself and yet he knew you were okay with it most of the time, still, he thought bitterly, you deserved better.
Better than this crap apartment. Better than the boring dates he took you on. Better than small emerald on your finger. You deserved better than him. He was just too selfish too let you go and it was going to be a mistake- "Rin" Your soft mumble broke him out of his thoughts and he stared down at you. God, he loved when you looked like this. In his ripped black sweater and nothing else, with your sleepy eyes and tired smile you looked so much... Like his. The thought was possessive and primal and not like him at all. But he didn't care. You were his. "What did you hear, baby?"
Man did he love when you called him that. It made him feel so fucking good. Like it was the two of you against the world and he finally had someone who wanted to protect him just as much as he wanted to protect you. Stupid future mother in law.
"I heard someone say your mother is trying to hook you and Tsukishima up. She thinks you'd suit" He spat the words out like they left an ugly taste in his mouth "Apparently she wants a Spring wedding"
His tone was condescending but you saw right through it. It hurt him. Alot more than he was letting on. You were going to have to talk to your mother immediately. You brushed his hair out of his face and brought your head up so you could rub your nose against his. The action made his visibly melt.
"Now how's that possible when I'm already engaged to you" You smiled softly thinking about the day he proposed. Him attempting to cook dinner and burning it, him lighting candles but accidentally using scented ones so your apartment smelt like a mix of pumpkin spice and vanilla for days, him pushing the small box in your hand and looking away because he thought you'd want a diamond instead of the gorgeous emerald that used to belong to his mother. You couldn't love Suna Rintaro more if you tried.
"She doesn't think I'm good enough" His voice turned to soft broken whisper that made your heart hurt. Damn you mum.
"She's not the who has to marry you though is she? I don't care what she wants Rin. I only ever want you" He blushed softly and you grinned. Sometimes he was too cute.
"Don't be so mushy" He grumbled.
"But if I'm not who will be? " you snarked and he rolled his eyes grabbing you and flipping you over so he was on his back and you were straddling him. He lips tilted into a devilish smirk that made butterflies who'd inhabited your stomach since you'd met him flutter.
"You look good from down here, pretty angel" He brought your hands to his lips and kissed your palm. It was your turn to blush, a sight Rintaro lived for.
"Are you okay now?" You tugged gently at his ear and he nodded unsurely.
"Promise to marry me?"
"Duh"
"Promise to give me tons of babies?"
"All of them are going to look just like me" You said seriously and he nodded.
"Promise to stay with me forever"
"And ever" You assured and he nodded. Sated. He pulled you down so your head could rest on his chest and his lips pressed a soft kiss to your temple
"Love you more than life, sweet baby" He mumbled and you closed your eyes.
Yeah he was your one

Warning: Panic attacks, mentions of weight
*************
~饾悞饾悮饾悿饾惍饾惉饾悮 饾悐饾悽饾惒饾惃饾惃饾惁饾悽~
Your breathing shallowed as pressed your back against the cool brick wall outside the restaurant . Why would they say that about you? How could they mention your insecurities in front of everyone? They were supposed to be your friends, and yet they had ridiculed and humiliated you in front of a table full of hot popular volleyball players, One in particular they knew you had been crushing on for awhile. You pushed down against the wall until you were sitting and hugged your knees two your chest. One.. Two.. Three... Four. You couldn't afford to have another panic attack. Not now. Not when you hadn't had one in months. Not when you were doing so well.
You had been so excited for your university lecture to end so you could go to lunch with your friends. Emiko and Manami had befriended you a couple months ago and although they were kind of popular you liked hanging out with them. That is when they weren't around other people. They had waited for you by the gate so you could all walk to the restaurant around the corner from campus together. The three of you had entered the crowded place and headed towards the table you usually sat at when you heard a voice call out.
"Manami! Bring your friends and come sit with us!" You glanced to where the Miya Atsumu was sitting. A table filled with players from MSBY Black Jackal volleyball team and you heart stuttered when your eyes found a familiar pair of dark eyes. God, Sakusa Kiyoomi could break your heart and you'd be grateful. The two of you were in the same English lecture and would occasionally share notes and guidelines. Manami didn't bat an eye, grabbed you and Emiko and tugged you towards their table.
Unfortunately you were placed in the middle of Manami and Sh艒y艒 Hinata. Directly across from Kiyoomi. Lunch had went well except for your friends slipping in a few off handed comments that you couldn't help feeling annoyed at "Y/n did you have to wear that dress? You look like my grandma" "Y/n doesn't do well on her exams even though she studies really hard. I guess some of us have other strengths"
You had let it slide. Maybe they were just teasing you right? but everytime they had said something Sakusas eyes would darken and his fists would clench. He wouldn't say anything, so maybe you were imagining it. It all went down hill after you ordered dessert though.
"I want chocolate cake!" Miya Osamu had announced and his twin had agreed. Emiko and Manami glanced at each other and smiled.
"Aren't you guys full?" Manami giggled and Emiko nodded in agreement.
"I can't eat another bite" She turned to Sakusa and twirled her hair. You couldn't help the unease that clenched at your stomach at the way she looked at him. She knew you liked him. You had told her accidentally after a night of way too many tequila shots "Aren't you full Omi?" She batted her eyelashes and pouted.
"Sakusa." He corrected irritabily and turned to you "Want to go half on a strawberry shortcake? "
It took you a full minute to process that yes he was talking to you and another to grasp the fact that he had just offered to go half with you on your favorite dessert. Sakusa Kiyoomi was not known for sharing anything. He probably didn't even know it was your favorite. Maybe he was just being nice, still you couldn't help the butterflies swarming in your stomach.
"Sure" You said quietly and heard Manami scoff. Your head snapped towards her and although she seemed angry her smile never wavered.
"Y/n are you sure you should eat that?" You froze. Did she just? No. There was no way she was about to-
"Why the hell shouldn't she? " Sakusa bit out harshly. The two of you had never said more than a handful of words to each other but here he was, Defending you from your so called friends.
"Oh Omi, Manami doest mean anything by it. We're just worried about y/n. She's put on a bit of weight recently and we want what's best for her. Isn't that right y/n? "
Your heart was in your throat. You knew you had put on a couple pounds. Although it wasn't that noticeable you had thought. You glanced around the table. Atsumu, Osamu, Bokuto and Sakusa were all wearing matching expressions on anger? Rage? It was hard to tell.
"Lay off" Osamu muttered "She can eat what she wants"
"We know. But y/n you know we love you. We'd only want what's best for you. And lately you're a bit on the chubs side" Emiko had said it with such venom you physically trembled. Why was she talking about your weight in front of them? Why were they doing this. You could only stand and leave the restaurant before your or them embarrassed you further.
That's how Sakusa found you. Curled in a ball counting to ten repeatedly as you choked on tears. God, he hated your 'friends'. He shoved off his jacket and gently sat next to you draping it over your shoulders. He didn't much care about sharing his jacket if he knew that it was with you. "Shhh Shhh. Easy." He rubbed your back soothingly and you glanced up. "It's okay. Just relax, angel. I got you"
After a few more minutes when your breathing had started to even out, you turned to glance at the boy you'd crushed on most of this year. "Okay?" He whispered
"Yes thank you" God you wanted to hit yourself "Sorry you can go back in. I'm okay promise"
He ignored you leaning in a little closer so he could pick up your fingers and play with them . Red spots dotted your cheeks because although it was the first time he'd been this close, it felt almost natural. Like he'd done it hundreds of times before. The butterflies simmered down and you leaned a little closer too.
"Do you get like that alot?" He brushed a finger through your hair and caught himself. He didn't want to scare you.
"I used too. It's alot better nowadays. Well I guess it was alot better. It's probably just stress"
"No I think it was thing 1 and thing 2 over there. You should get some new friends. Those ones are too bitchy"
You sighed "It's not that like what they were saying wasn't true. It was. I just wish they hadn't said it in front of everyone yunno? " He tensed and turned his head to look at you.
"No its not true. Nothing they said to you today was even a little truthful. Your dress is pretty. You're not stupid, far from it actually and exams don't prove anything. Plus your body is perfect" He blushed furiously "I mean not that I look at it long enough to know it's perfect but it is perfect. Maybe beutiful would be a better word. That sounded forward I'm sorry-"
You laughed and with a burst of courage interlocked your fingers with his and nudged his shoulder.
"Thanks Omi-Sakusa"
"You can call me Omi. I don't mind" You smiled and in that moment Sakusa thought there was nothing more beutiful in the world than the sight of you smiling because of him.
"Want to go to that new bakery around the corner. Heard they make a good strawberry shortcake" He asked standing and putting his hand out. You grabbed it and he lifted you up. His jacket still draped across your shoulders.
"Sure." Your hand was still in his and he made no move to let go. "I'm going to have to make new friends" You shuddered at the thought. You weren't very social.
"I'll be your new friend" He muttered
"Kiyoomi you don't have to pity me. I'm okay"
"I'm not. I promise. Cmon gimme a chance. I'm a great friend. Ask anyone" He watched as you bit your lip but nodded.
"Okay"
"Okay" He repeated as the two of you walked along the concrete.
One step closer he thought.

~Iwaizumi Hajime~
Warning: Reader feeling insecure about themselves and their weight, (suggestive) nsfw. Short
***********
Iwaizumi Hajime was protective. Especially towards the things that he cared about, so you being the love of his life and all was high on the list of things he tended to watch over. Which is why he noticed the way you looked at yourself in the mirror, the way you suddenly had no appetite, the way you were constantly berating yourself everytime you walked past food.
"Iwa you're over analyzing me" You grabbed the water bottle from the table and took a sip. Your husband glared at you
"Don't start. When last did you eat? And I'm not talking about those stupid granola bars. When last did you eat a proper meal?" He watched as you looked at your feet. You never could lie to him, something he loved.
"I don't remember. A couple hours ago I guess" Two days ago to be exact. He knew that too.
"Grab your shit" He growled as he reached for his car keys.
"What? Why?" You were in Fluffy pj's and had just showered when Hajime came home. You really weren't in the mood to go out
"I'm taking you to dinner. Actually screw that. We'll order in, and you'll sit on that couch and won't leave until you eat every single bite. So what are you in the mood for?" He was angry but his voice remained level.
"Hajime I'm not hungry" You whispered knowing it would piss him off but he only seemed saddened by your words
"Y/n. What are you doing, baby? Tell me what's wrong?" He stepped towards you, his hands finding the familiar spot at your waist and stared at you.
"I just-" You sighed "I just think I need to lose a few pounds. I tried on my wedding dress the other day and it couldn't even zip halfway up Iwa. I feel... pudgy"
Iwaizumi frowned. Pudgy was never a word he would use to describe you. Beutiful, intelligent, hilarious, those he could get on board with but pudgy?
"Sweetheart we got married three years ago. I'm sure I wouldn't fit into my tux either. There's nothing wrong with you, You hear me" He bent forward so he could press a small kiss on your forehead but you shook your head.
"Iwa I just don't feel pretty anymore" You voice cracked slightly but you wouldn't cry. No matter how insecure and horrible you were feeling, you refused to cry.
Iwaizumi on the other hand was startled by what you just said. You don't feel pretty? You the most beautiful women he had ever layed eyes on.
"God, baby have you looked in a mirror recently" He grabbed your hand tugging you towards the bedroom towards the large mirror hanging on the wall. "Look at you."
You stared at yourself. There was absolutely not one thing about yourself you liked currently and that made you sad. Standing in front of your gorgeous boyfriend you kind of just felt like you were lacking. Your boobs weren't the right size, your clothes looked ratty and the bags under your eyes were so noticeable you might have well labeled them Prada.
"Iwa stop it" You closed your eyes looking away and he shook his head.
"Open them" You slowly opened your eyes to see Iwaizumis dark gaze in the mirror from where he stood behind you. "The fact that you could see yourself and think anything less than perfect is astounding"
"I'm not perfect" You mumbled sadly.
"What's not perfect about you?" He sounded angry and you sighed.
"I feel Chubby for one. My boobs aren't right. My hair. My eyes. My stupid stretch marks. I don't know take your pick" You turned away again but he held you in place. He growled under his breath
"Firstly you're not fucking Chubby and even if you were you'd still take my breath away I can promise you that. Secondly" He cupped your breasts making you gasp lightly "These are just right. See how they fit in my hands, Almost as if they were molded just for me."
His hand moved to tangle in your hair "This is one my favorite things about you. Your hair spread on my pillow in the mornings is nothing short of fucking art. And your eyes, the way they soften everytime you see me or how they melt whenever I make you cum" He whispered it against your ear "I could frame them and look into them forever. You're absolutely perfect, every single part of you was made to be loved by me and only me"
"Iwaizumi" He turned you around so you could look at him. The tears in your eyes never fell but they did linger "I love you, you know that? "
"Of course I do, gorgeous girl. I love you more. Now promise me whenever you feel insecure you'll come to me. You'll tell me." He wrapped his arms around you.
"I promise" You kissed him lightly making him smile.
"And no more skipping meals"
"Promise" You nuzzled into his chest.
"My little baby, let's go and order some food and then we're going to come back here and I'm going to spend the rest of the night worshipping that sweet body of yours"
You blushed furiously "You have a way with words Hajime"
"Wait until you see what else I can do with my tongue-" You slapped his chest making him laugh and lifting you up so you could wrap your legs around his waist.
"My Pretty boy" You rubbed his head as he walked with you towards the kitchen. He melted. He loved when you called him that
"My pretty girl" He kissed your lips.
Yeah he knew just how to make you feel better

~Accidental Reunions~
Miya Atsumu
Tumblr media
"Shut up Osamu" The setter muttered in irritation towards his twin who was laughing at his absolute humiliation. Osamu never had something he could tease his brother with that would so easily pick at his nerves, but he finally found his new subject. The reason for all Miya Atsumus teasing. You.
The recent discovery that one of their MSBY Black Jackals teammates was crushing hard on the young, pretty librarian who was sitting in the stands at one of their games had left the team in shambles. It was highly unusual for Atsumu to develop crushes on anyone, but when he saw you in the crowd he had physically felt his heart stop.
The two of you had went to high school together. You could never forget the boy that was Miya Atsumu. He was tall, handsome and Captain of the Inarizaki High Volleyball team when he was a 3rd year and you were in your 2nd. He had never noticed you. Obviously. You weren't the sociable type. You had a small group of friends and by small you meant two. You always had your head in a book. And by some horrible turn of events someone upstairs had decided to give you bad eyesight, crooked teeth and acne. Hence the glasses, braces and multiple face masks. High-school for you was just your awkward phase and even though you had the biggest crush on the blonde Miya twin back then, you knew there was no chance in hell that he would've actually noticed you.
Atsumu had recognized you the minute he saw you in the crowd. The pretty girl who used to sit in his math class because she was too advanced for her own years. The girl that would lend him pencils and help him when he used to get stuck on number problems without any judgment. The girl who had reached into her bag and given him her granola bar because he's stomach had growled in class the day he missed breakfast. He hadn't seen you in years. He would never admit to the small infatuation he used to have on you in high school. Constantly looking for ways to talk to you but you were too smart for the likes of him and eventually he would just give up and settle for watching you from the sidelines.
Osamu had known about this crush for years of course. You were all his brother would talk about for months in high school so when he had followed his twins gaze to the pretty brunette in the stands he couldn't hold back his laugh. "I can't believe it! First girl you ever had a crush on attends the first game of the season. That's a sign. Oh and look at that she's looking right at you"
Atsumu felt his heart tumble when your pretty eyes found his and you held his stare. He watched mezmerised when a small smile curved at your lips and you lifted your hand to give him a cautious wave. He felt giddy. You noticed him. You remembered him. He was going to have to shove off these butterflies before he starts playing or else it was going to be a shitty start to what was supposed to be a good season.
"You know he hasn't taken his eyes off you" Your friend Akira whispered during half time and you turned to look at her.
"Who?" But you knew exactly who she was talking about because your eyes hadn't left him. You watched him play with enthusiasm and everytime their team had scored his eyes would move to the crowd, find yours and he'd smile like that point was made just for you. You knew it was your imagination but still you couldn't help the little tatters of your heart.
"Oh come on! You know exactly who I'm talking about. Does Miya Atsumu know you?" The question made you pause. Did he? Sure you were in the same math class but the fact that he would remember you all these years later was impossible. Right?
"We went to high school together" You murmured.
"Shut up! Were you guys a thing??" Akira grabbed your arm and shook you.
"Uhm no we hardly spoke at all" You turned your attention back to the game and blocked out Akiras excited babbles. This was beginning starting to make you feel like a teenager again.
They had won. They had fucking won! Atsumu was tackled by an excited Bokuto who's screams merged with the crowds.
"That's what I'm talking about! Fucking killed that man! We're celebrating! Tonight" But he wasn't listening. His eyes for what felt like the hundreth time tonight found yours and he visibly melted at the proud grin you were shooting his way. He had to talk to you. He had to.
"I'll catch up with you guys later, man. I gotta go do something first" You watched as the setter slid away from his teammate and made A beeline towards where you were standing . You froze. Was he coming to talk to you?"
"Y/n I'm going to go talk to my friend real quick" Akira squealed knowingly and left you just as the blonde boy came to stand in front of you
"Y/n?" Your eyes widened comically. Did he just say your name or did you imagine it
"Miya." You sounded breathless. Oh fuckity fuck man "That was a great game. You played brilliantly"
He rubbed the back of his neck flushing at your praise and shrugged "It was nothing. Its really good to see you. How-" He cleared his throat "How have you been?"
"Great! Thanks for asking. How've you been?" You asked.
"Better now." You flushed like a school girl "You want to grab a drink with me? Catch up?"
"Uhm sure" You mumbled and he grinned motioning you to walk out of the stadium with him.
"What? Right now? Don't you want to celebrate with you team?" You asked when he grabbed your hand to help you down the staircase.
"Not really. I rather celebrate with you. You look pretty by the way" He said the last sentence quietly and you laughed
"Yes I'm alot better than what I was in high school"
"You were beutiful in high school" He Defended harshly and then clamped his mouth shut when the words spilled. Your walk along the concrete path came to a dead stop.
"Don't lie Atsumu. I was hideous. It's okay I've accepted it" You felt his arm tug you so he could look at you straight in the eye.
"You listen l/n y/n, you were gorgeous in high school and you're even more gorgeous right now. And I don't want to hear it because I'm only supposed to start flattering you when we're in the restaurant so you'll agree to go out with me. You're ruining my game plan"
You physically buzzed. Did he always have this way of making you feel like a school girl . You laughed incredulously making him smile.
"You don't have to flatter me. I'll go out with you regardless " He grabbed your hand again, linking your fingers he smiled to himself.
"I'm going to do it anyway. I have years to make up for"
