Poker Face (prod. Nora & Lilla Zuckerman).
[Rian] Johnson’s first foray into episodic television is a fun one. Poker Face works so well as a disposable but highly enjoyable crime series because it understands every element of its genre fare and sets up and picks its pieces apart with such cinematic flair. [Natasha] Lyonne delivers an amusing performance as a reluctant gumshoe and human lie detector machine. Each episode leaves you primed for next week’s entry.

The fact that Rian Johnson is NOT showrunner of POKER FACE makes me anticipate it even more. I love his movies but I cannot fucking wait to see how his brand of structuralist perfectionism will evolve with other voices mixed in. (Nora and Lilla Zuckerman were co-showrunners on this I think.)
