S24E1 The Pandemic Special is CANON

I considered this to be a filler episode, since none of it really gets addressed ever again, however there is one point I realized which makes it essential: This is the introduction of the covid arc. Many fans do and even Trey usually forgets this, but South Park isn't just a copy of real life. It's a fictional story, in which some things happen the same way as they do in real life. But many years from now, the covid phenomenon won't be as self-explanatory as at the time this episode special was made. So for inner world building, this is actually build up of a virus that will stay to be a major plot point for the remainder of the season. S24E2 South ParQ Vaccination Special is CANON

The boys (except for Kenny) break up, Margaret Nelson passes, Herbert returns as a teacher and for some reason has a fourth-wall breaking moment that really feel like South ParQ building towards its ending. S24E3 Post-Covid is CANON

First, I'm going to address this, that despite the different networks and what the DVD might tell you, this is part of the season by production code and by cohesive narrative as well. And yes, it is canon, part one of the culmination of the whole show. S24E4 The Return of Covid is CANON

So this is it. South Park has ended. We have our grand finale. Of course the destination of any series is canon. Wait, do I hear more episodes coming up? Well, now we just have to see how those will fit into the timeline of this story.

Few months ago, I made a post about "What if Katelyn is in A Million Little Things" which was Katelyn in the Show and her Character is on Chandler aka Patrick Nelson.

Today, I will discuss about Light as a Feather where Katelyn was there as Sammi Karras.

What if Chandler is in Light as a Feather?

1. Chandler's Character (If included) might not be based on Carl but slightly based on Patrick but he will be different and he will be a good character.

2. His Character and Sammi (Played by Katelyn) will be in many episodes of the show. They will always be together in every scene.

3. His Character might become the New Love Interest of Sammi and they will have Kisses in some episode longer and more romantic than Carnid.

4. His Character will be part of Sammi's Life and they will become a Ship and somehow an Endgame.

5. Sammi could end his Relationship with Trey and She will be with Chandler's Character and Trey and McKenna will be the Endgame.

However, it will all happened if Light as a Feather was Renewed for Season 3 and If they dont Kill Sammi in Season 2.

Unfortunately, Hulu Cancelled Light as a Feather. This could be our option aside from T@gged but as we know, Hulu cancels good shows so No Dice.

Texas seeks citizenship status 

ELECTION 2024

Asks US to see if noncitizens are registered to vote

The Texas Secretary of State’s Office, at the request of Attorney General Ken Paxton, formally asked federal authorities Wednesday for help determining whether people who are not U.S. citizens or have not documented their proof of citizenship are registered to vote in Texas.

Secretary of State Jane Nelson sent a letter to the director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services saying Texas is entitled to receive citizenship statuses from the agency.

The letter also says that Texas is “leading the way in instituting measures to ensure the integrity of our elections” by purging the voting rolls of noncitizens.

Nelson also noted that federal law states that her office cannot be prevented from obtaining the federally held information.

“To that end, the State of Texas wishes to obtain current citizenship information or immigration status information from USCIS for certain individuals who are registered to vote in Texas but have not yet validated their citizenship though DPS or another state agency in Texas,” Nelson, whose duties include being the state’s chief elections officer, said in her letter.

The letter was released a few hours after Paxton asked Nelson to request federal assistance “that would enable Texas to determine the citizenship status of certain registered voters for whom the state cannot verify eligibility to vote.”

Last month, Gov. Greg Abbott, who like Paxton is a third-term Republican, touted the state’s work in removing about 1 million people from Texas voters rolls since 2021 on grounds that they were no longer eligible to cast legal ballots because they had left the state, had died or for some other reason.

Paxton in recent weeks has also targeted voter registration efforts in Travis County and elsewhere alleging they were in violation of state law.

On Monday, a state District Court in Bexar County denied the attorney general’s request that the county’s plan to mail voter registration forms be blocked.

Then on Tuesday, Travis County petitioned to have the lawsuit Paxton filed against its voter registration efforts transferred from state court to federal court on grounds that the attorney general’s suit violated the National Voter Registration Act.

Paxton has filed court documents seeking to keep the litigation in the state court system.

State Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer, the leader of the Texas House Democratic Caucus, said in an op-ed published Tuesday in the San Antonio Express-News that Paxton’s targeting of county registration efforts is a thinly veiled attempt to suppress voting rights.

No one is being forced to register, and no one is being forced to vote, he wrote.

“Perhaps Paxton’s opposition has more to do with how these people might vote and very little to do with them registering,” Martinez Fischer wrote.

And promoting the piece Wednesday on X, formerly Twitter, he added:

“Ken Paxton is not a hero. His attempts to silence good faith voter registration efforts by Texas leaders is just a continued tradition of voter suppression. And it must be stopped.”

In her letter to USCIS Director Ur M. Jaddou, Nelson said her office is compiling a list of people on the state’s voter rolls whose citizenship cannot be validated with state resources alone.

Nelson asked Jaddou to send her office the requested information by Oct. 2. The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 5 election in Texas is Oct. 7.

In 2019, the Legislature appropriated $1.5 million for Texas to join the nonpartisan Electronic Registration Information Center, which was set up to help states ensure the accuracy of voter rolls and to help eligible citizens register to vote.

However, last year, lawmakers rescinded its permission for Texas to remain part of the organization.

Instead, it authorized the Secretary of State’s Office to establish a framework for providing the services that the registration center had performed for Texas.

“Many Texans have been concerned about the security of voter information flowing to this national organization,” state Sen. Bryan Hughes, R-Mineola, said when he explained the bill during the floor debate in April 2023.

“Also, the high costs associated with a program that really may not even lead to significant progress in cleaning the voter rolls.”

Noncitizens are not overwhelming our election booths

Al Schmidt, Pennsylvania’s secretary of state, was the lone Republican election official in Philadelphia seven years ago when he discovered a flaw in the state’s motor-voter system allowing noncitizens to register to vote.

Schmidt said that “occurred very, very, very infrequently.”

He worked with local and state officials to correct the problem.

On Thursday, he decried the “disinformation” on voting matters prompting unreasonable behaviors among people “acting out in a way that must be reasonable to them.”

Lisa Posthumus Lyons, Kent County clerk in Michigan, said November will be her 27th election and she has “never experienced a noncitizen having cast a ballot.”

She has, however, found rare instances of noncitizens “inadvertently” being registered to vote.

“In these very few instances, they’ve self-reported to us,” she said. “They want off the rolls.”

Claims of noncitizen voting are attempt at disruption

Only once in his 12 years as Travis County voter registrar has Bruce Elfant referred such a matter to prosecutors — and even then, the incident turned out to be a mistake, someone checking off the wrong box.

Noncitizens appearing on the voter rolls are really that rare.

“We just haven’t seen any instance of this,” Elfant told me. Indeed, the nonpartisan Brennan Center for Justice calls noncitizen voting “vanishingly rare.”

Other election experts say such cases “are virtually nonexistent,” especially since states have multiple systems to verify people are eligible to vote.

While a few instances of noncitizen voting have happened in our nation of more than 160 million voters, the Libertarian Cato Institute says “there is no good evidence” it is happening at any meaningful scale.

And that makes sense:

The penalties for noncitizens who try to vote include fines, up to a year in prison and most importantly, deportation, losing the promise of a life in America that immigrants have worked so hard to reach.

Why risk all of that just to cast a ballot?

Yet the fearmongering over noncitizen voting is really having a moment.

Gov. Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton have stirred up the issue recently without offering any proof, and Austin-area U.S. Rep. Chip Roy is among the congressional Republicans who are, quite incredibly, driving us toward a shutdown of the federal government over this virtually nonexistent problem.

The endgame is obvious:

Dredge up suspicion that noncitizens are voting, then use that phony complaint to argue against accepting the results of the November election if Donald Trump loses his presidential bid.

At that point, claims of noncitizen voting, however weak, “can be used as an excuse to disrupt the certification process” of the election results or “generally disrupt the peaceful transfer of power,” Claudia Ruiz, a senior civil rights policy analyst at UnidosUS, told me and other journalists on a call Friday.

What a dirty ploy:

Claim to protect elections when you’re really looking to challenge the results.

To be clear, such an effort runs counter to the careful work done by the local officials who maintain the voter rolls, people like Elfant and his counterparts around the country.

“I have yet to meet a Democrat that wants ineligible voters on their lists,

and I have yet to meet a Republican that wants to take eligible voters off their list,” David Becker, head of the nonpartisan Center for Election Innovation & Research, told me and other journalists Friday.

Ensuring the correct people are on the rolls “is something that election officials agree on 100%.”

But Trump’s enablers want to sow doubt and confusion.

Late last month, Abbott alleged that 6,500 potential noncitizens had been identified on Texas’ voter rolls over the past three years, a declaration designed to grab headlines without offering proof.

“It appears that there are definitely citizens on that list,” Becker said, “and (Texas officials) have so far refused to release any documentary evidence, anything about the methodology to reach that number — which calls into question whether or not there is any issue there at all.”

This past week, Paxton urged Secretary of State Jane Nelson to ask the feds for help verifying the citizenship of more than 1 million Texas voters.

It’s a baffling request.

Nelson’s office already has access to the state’s driver’s license database, which includes information on the proof of citizenship a person provided when getting their ID, as well as the federal Social Security database and other records.

The secretary of state’s office already checks those records when someone is first added to the voter rolls.

If Paxton was making a good-faith effort to ensure an accurate roster of voters, he would have raised the question months ago.

We’re now well within the 90day blackout period before an election, when federal law prohibits officials from sweeping people off the voter rolls.

Plainly, Paxton is not trying to improve this election, but to cast doubt on it.

Which brings us to the Safeguard American Eligibility, or SAVE, Act, championed by Roy and other congressional Republicans who have threatened to withhold the funding to keep the federal government operating after the end of September unless the SAVE Act is part of the package.

The SAVE Act makes noncitizen voting a crime — fact check:

It already is a crime — while making voter registration more difficult, supposedly to prevent noncitizen voting that “happens so rarely that even the states that are trying to find it can’t find it,” Becker said.

Trump is clamoring for a standoff over the SAVE Act, even though a government shutdown typically means air traffic controllers working without pay, tens of thousands of federal employees being placed on furloughs, inspections by the Food and Drug Administration getting delayed and services being suspended at our beloved national parks.

All to protest a problem that doesn’t exist.

Pay attention to these claims of noncitizen voting.

Not because they are credible, but because those behind them are serious about disrupting this election.
