What Mando’a have you learned yet?

Heh I know I said on my rec list here that I remember 90 words and that was true at the time but because I take ages to reply to asks it's been a while, so let's see what I still remember now, I've mostly read clone wars fic lately, nothing with that much Mando'a...

Gonna try to structure this a bit to try and remember more. Also btw this is definitely just what I remember from what I've learned via fic reading osmosis, so take this with a grain of salt, for actual Mando'a knowledge there are a couple online dictionaries you could check out!

...I've spent 35 minutes trying to remember All The words xDxD fandom brainrot much lmao, why can't I get obsessed with like an actual useful language xD anyway lots of words below the cut, indeed over 90! Lots of words on weapons and family which tracks with Mandalorian culture xD but also a whole bunch of other random words!

Pretty close to my guess from a month ago, and I'm pretty sure I've forgotten some in the meantime (or just can't think of them right now, there are always some that I can translate when I see the English word but can't think of when making a list in one go), so it's actually more than I expected!

Your heart is racing, palms are sweaty, legs are bouncing as you wait for that all important phone call. You've been waiting your whole life to be an actress. Many years of watching your idols on screen and learning from them how to be a good actor was going to be put to the test today. 

After what felt like years your phone rang. You jumped at the sound, quickly picking up the phone. You waited a couple of seconds so that it didn't look as if you were desperate before you picked up the phone.

"Hello." You sounded like you haven't talked in years as you said hello. "Hi, is this y/n?" The voice behind the phone asked. You cleared your throat before you answered yes. There was a brief silence before you heard the voice again. "We'll Miss. Y/l/n you got the role."

You gasped, your hand coming to cover your mouth. "Oh my gosh. No freakin way." The guy on the phone laughed. "Yep you got the role; they're going to need you on set in three days so you can start filming."

You stopped freaking out to say okay, thank you and to hang up the phone. As the call ended you let out a squeal of excitement. You got the role, you finally were an actress.

You felt like crying and screaming at the same time. There were no words to describe how you felt in that moment.

Those three days passed bye with flying colors. On the third day you got up nice and early wanting to look like a million bucks. You ate breakfast, had a nice long shower, did light make-up, and dressed up in some pretty decent clothes. You packed a few clothes because you'll be spending about two month on set. 

You left your home around 10am, driving to your new job. The music was cranked up in your car despite it being beginning so early. If people saw you they would've thought you were crazy. You were just super excited.

You arrived on set about an hour later. You parked Your car and got out to grab your luggage. As soon as you shut the trunk a smiling woman with brown hair and a clipboard in her hands, came up beside you. You smiled at her a little confused. "Hi."

"Hi y/l/n, I'm Maria and I'm going to be your assistant. I'll be showing you around and things. Would you like to see your trailer?" She asked in a sweet voice. "You nodded while picking up your two bags. "Lead the way."

Maria led the way to your trailer. When you arrived she opened the door for you and let you walk in. "I'll be back in about an hour so we can go on set and meet the director. Your script is on the couch so you can read it. If you need anything you can just call me."

Maria smiled before she waved bye to you. She shut the trailer door and you took a seat on the couch with a huff. I'm finally here you thought to yourself. You smiled as you picked up the script flipping through the pages. This was going to be fun, you just knew it.

You've been reading your script over for an hour when you heard a knock on the door. You rose from the couch and opened the door to see Maria. "Time to go."

You nodded before you stepped out of the trailer and followed her. You both walked a short way to the main set and entered. The place was buzzing with people, it kinda made you nervous but you kept following Marie.

"Here's the director, steven." Maria stopped in front of a man who was talking to someone else. "Oh my lead actress y/n, it's nice to meet you." He stuck out his hand and you happily shook it. "Hi." 

Steven looked over his shoulder flagging someone down. "Y/n I'll like you to meet Chris." You turned to look at Chris who you thought was just a random guy, but when you saw that it was Chris Evans, you gasped slightly. Luckily he didn't catch that and stuck out his hand. "Hi y/n, I heard so much about you."

Holy shit! He knows your name… stay cool.

"Hi Chris." Your hand stayed enveloped for longer than needed which made you pull away as you felt your face heat up. You turned to Maria seeing her smiling, her lips pressed together. She definitely saw what was blossoming.

"Well set starts in a few minutes. While we wait you two can get to know each other. Steven and Maria walked away leaving you two alone. You placed your hand in your pocket, looking down at your feet. "It's very nice to meet you." You Mumbled as you looked up at him before looking back down at your feet. Chris smiled seeing how shy you were. "It's nice to meet you two y/n. I heard this is your first time acting, that's very exciting." 

You laughed, "yeah, it is. I've been waiting to be an actress for a while now." Chris nodded, "well you're here."

You and Chris talked for a while. You both talked like you've known each other for years. Your shyness soon faded and you were full on talking to him. 

Chris was already liking you. Your laugh made him smile harder than he was before, Your voice was soothing, everything about you made him feel good. He wasn't going to deny his crush that was growing. He's never felt this way about a woman.

Set was soon called and you and Chris soon started acting together. You loved Chris's acting just as much as he liked yours. Your chemistry was felt by everyone on set, Steven was quite happy about that too.

Around 10pm, after many hours of working, the set was done for the day. You left to go to your trailer. You didn't notice at first but Chris' trailer was beside yours and he was waiting to tell you goodnight.

When you saw him you smiled. "Hi Chris." 

He smiled as he stood up from his trailer steps. "Hi y/n. Um I just wanted to say goodnight to you." He walked up to you placing his hand on your shoulder. "You chuckled softly as you looked at him. "Well goodnight to you too."

Chris winked at you before he walked off to go in his trailer. You did the same. Once you were in your trailer you plopped yourself in the bed with a smile. Yep, this was fun.

As the weeks went on you and Chris grew closer and closer to each other. He took you out for breakfast and lunch some days, he always helped you with your script, and he always said goodnight to you. You were falling more and more in love with him every second and it was getting to the point where it was hard to keep it in.

Chris felt the same way. He couldn't help but tell his family about you. He was always so energized when he spoke about you; everyone knew it was a matter of time before he asked you out. 

Scott always teased Chris about it which pissed Chris off but he knew he deserved it for not telling you how he felt

You were sitting on the steps of your trailer after a night of filming. Chris was just returning when he saw you. "Hi y/n! Whatcha doing?" He came and sat down beside you. "I can't go to sleep." You said as you looked at him.

Chris nodded, "yeah there's days like that."

The both of you stayed silent for a second before you spoke. "Do you want to go inside my trailer and watch some disney classics?"

Chris eyes widened at your proposal. "Sure." You smiled before you got up and opened the door for you and Chris to walk in. You grabbed your laptop and sat down on the over size bed. Chris stood like a lost puppy, not quite sure what to do. You patted the space beside you, "come on sit."

Chris did as you said, sitting beside you. You started up your disney plus and you and Chris debated on what you'll want to watch. After a couple minutes you both settled on Lilo and Stitch. The movie played quietly as you both laid and watched.

Throughout the whole movie you felt Chris glancing over at you. It made you flustered and shy like the first day you met him. You tried your best to ignore him.

An hour later later the movie ended. "Wow that's great like it was when I was little. What do you think ch-," you stopped mid sentence when you saw Chris out. 

You felt kinda guilty that you brought him over. He was probably tired and still decided to keep you company. Saint was the world to describe him.

You hopped out of bed and placed your laptop on the floor near your luggage. After that you grabbed a throw blanket and draped it over Chris before you crawled in bed and got under the blanket. You kept your distance from him the whole night thinking he wanted it but Chris didn't.

The next morning when you woke up, Your head was buried in his chest and his bulky arms were wrapped around your waist. You frowned as I tried to figure out how you got there. Chris stirred awake as you did. He was very aware you were in his arms.

"Good morning y/n." His morning voice was raspy sending shivers down your spine. "Good morning Chris." Chris chuckled as he looked down at you. You smiled softly at him. Before you could even think straight you placed your lips on his. God they were as soft as you imagined they'll be. 

Chris couldn't help slip his tongue in your mouth. You moaned softly as you cupped his face. The kiss got heated, so heated the clothes were stripped off and love making was made. His body against your body, his moans mixed with yours, and his burning desire to pleasure you was too much to comprehend. He made you feel so good, like you were the only woman in the world. He didn't stop until he pleased you like you should be pleased.

When you both were done he laid down beside you chest rising and falling. You looked over at him seeing a messy haired Chris. "That's so good. I- I have no words." 

Chris chuckled as he looked at you. His massive hands came to cup your cheek. "I wanted to do that for a while now." You smiled as he continued. "I wanted to show you how I felt about you, how happy you make me, and how these past few weeks you changed me." Chris ran his thumb over your cheek bone, looking at you with his baby blue eyes. 

"Yeah I've been wanting to do that too." You ran your fingers in circles over his chest as you tried not to get nervous.

"Y/n." You looked back up at Chris's eyes. "Yes?" 

"I was wondering if you'd be my girlfriend?" He said looking at you. You laughed, "of course you don't even have to ask." You leaned in and kissed him with a squeal. 

You never thought in a million years you would be kissing the one and only Chris Evans but you were a damn you were so happy about it.

because it hit my mind and i'm of the mood to share: Nie Brothers Lilo & Stitch AU. GO WILD

this has been sitting in my inbox for a week (or something; time is fake) because...I mean, is the cackling feral space alien construct Meng Yao, or Wei Wuxian?!? And who’s the mad scientist who created him in a lab, and who’s hte mosquito-obsessed government officer sent to keep him in line?

...I’ll tell you what also works: not to be predictable in my favorite relationships, but Jiang Cheng trying very hard to raise his nephew on his own, the rest of their family dead or presumed dead, and Jin Ling is tempermental and angsty so he doesn’t have a lot of friends...Jiang Cheng takes him to the pound to get a dog, because- because why not, okay, there’s no reason not to have a dog in the house (not for six years.)

Except instead of a dog, it’s a furry, blue red, six-legged...thing. Kinda rabbit-like? Mutant giant rabbit. There are ears. Jin Ling, being six, seven what its name is, and it kind of yowls something, almost like it understood the question, that Jin Ling decides was “A-Yuan.

As a dog, it’d be alarmingly intelligent, quickly mastering doors, the rabbit food container, lip syncing to Elvis, etc. As a giant mutant rabbit, it’s...something. A-Yuan is quiet, at least, usually (it whistles shrilly when excited), and obedient (it must be trained? To a...lot of random commands??), and it’s not chewing on the furniture or anything (though it does break into the cupboard, find a five-years-old bottle of ridiculously spicy sauce and tears it open with its teeth, drinking all the sauce and eating half the plastic bottle. Jiang Cheng loses his temper because it makes a mess and for no other reason.) But most importantly, it’s happy to play with Jin Ling, and Jin Ling is delighted to play with it.

(Meanwhile, watching them from behind a tree at the edge of the beach, an alien mad scientist tears at his own hair. “Why? Lan Zhan, why? Why does the universe hate me, why did A-Yuan need to be found by the one person who absolutely cannot see me?”

“Mn,” his partner/minder/husband (but that’s not revealed until the end of the movie) says sympathetically.

(Here’s what happened five years ago: after being raised by the Jiangs all his life, or at least, all his life that he cared to remember after the street, Wei Wuxian found out that he was actually an alien who could pass for human thanks to some instinctive mild shapeshifting. He found this out in the process of being attacked by government agents and/or other aliens, an attack in which his sister and her husband died.* With a combination of searing guilt and a desire to keep what little remained of his family safe, he went to space and never looked back, letting the world believe he, too, was dead.))

EDIT: oh god, oh fuck, I just thought about the end of the movie and Wei Wuxian being like, “Well, time to...go back to space...because all the lies I’ve told and harm I’ve brought upon this family cannot be undone much less forgiven, and I’m - we’re - aliens so we don’t belong here...come on, A-Yuan...” with Lan Wangji standing behind him, a step or two closer to their ship, and Jin Ling (watching tearfully) and Jiang Cheng (aggressively not looking) on the other side of the clearing 

But A-Yuan (giant red upright six-legged bunny A-Yuan) plants himself in the middle of the clearing, one set of hands on his hips, and accusingly reminds his dad, “Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”

*wails softly* oh nooooo

*Idk about Jin Zixuan but Jiang Yanli is ALIVE in a government holding cell, has been all five years, on suspicion of being an alien!! We learn this in the sequel and bust her out, obviously.

Percy Jackson pulled into the designated pick up zone, his music blasting so hard his seats vibrated. His fingers tapped along to the beat against the steering wheel, head bobbing aimlessly. The time on the dashboard blinked 14:59 and as the song ended the clock struck the hour.

Little kids, dressed in all manor of outfits came pouring out of the school, throwing basketballs and strapping on bike helmets. He watched as a little boy in a lobster costume attempted to mount his bicycle, falling three times before he got frustrated enough to yank the costume down. Percy, and probably every parent in the vicinity, was grateful the little guy had a vest and shorts on underneath.

Another little boy looked on the verge of tears as he handed a broken pair of wings to his mom. She gave him a kiss and a chocolate and the kid beamed so hard the sun got a little jealous. He immediately turned to the little girl next to him and offered her some of his sugary contraband.

Damn Percy loved Halloween.

Speaking of which, where on earth was Estelle? She had been buzzing about the Halloween sleepover all week and now she was going to be late.

He checked the clock to find five minutes had gone by with no sign of his little sister. The front area was beginning to clear as little kids hopped on the school bus or into a parent's car. He gave it one more, impatient minute before getting out and stalking towards the schools entrance. His eyes wide and frantically searching through all the little bobbles and capes and various types of bugs. What was it with little kids and insects? Still there was no sign of a bright green tail or red hair clips.

Percy was starting to panic. He pushed the double doors of the school open, "Estelle? Estelle? Elle? Ellie? Elephant?"

His shouts echoed in the empty hallways but there was no response.

"Princess Ariel? Come on Elle this isn't funny." His voice shook with nerves as he peered into empty classrooms and around abandoned corners.

"Elle if you come out now I'll get you icecream on the way home." Bribing always worked.

"Come one Estelle, please," He could hear the panic in his voice now.

"Can I help you?" A voice from behind him asked.

He whipped around, stumbling as he caught sight of the stranger.

She was, wow. She looked like a princess from one of Estelle fairytales. Golden curls, and bright grey eyes. And a soft, expectant smile.

Expectant.... expactant. Shit. She was waiting for him.

He cleared his throat, "Uh yes hi I'm looking for my little sister. She didn't come out after school and I'm panicking just a little."

"Oh alright," She motioned for him to follow her before disappearing behind a door, "Can you tell me her name and who her teacher is?"

"Sure yea, her name is Estelle Blofis and her teacher is Miss Dare."

"Oh yes they had swim class for the last hour of the day. Come on I'll take you to the pool. Maybe she's still there."

"Thank you so much," He gave her a grateful look, "I'm Percy by the way, Percy Jackson."

"Annabeth Chase," Her tone was open but her answer was blunt.

Percy was confused and a little worried, and wow she was pretty.

"So you been working here long?"

She gave him a weird look and he realized it was probably a stupid question but before he could back track she was shrugging her shoulders.

"About two years."

"Must really love children huh?" He chuckled, "I think I'd go crazy if I had to look after a bunch of six year olds all day."

She looked at him then, grey eyes piercing into his.

"It started out as a backup plan while I waited to get into postgrad and kind of just became a thing."

"Well I'm sure you're great at it."

She laughed softly, pushing open the doors to the pool, "I'm great at everything Mr Jackson."

"Percy!" A small weight crashed into his legs.

"Hello Elle, where have you been?" He crouched down to look his little sister in the eye, "I've been worried sick about you."

"I'm sorry Pers," She gave him that puppydog stare, "We were having so much fun in the pool Miss Dare said we could stay in for a little extra. I didn't think you'd mind since you like to listen to your loud music." Her little button nose scrunched in distaste before she bounded away to change and grab her things.

Percy heard a soft snickering from behind him and stood up to see Annabeth covering her mouth, grey eyes sparkling with amusement.

"Someone's not a fan of your taste."

He scowled at her, "She doesn't count. Her favourite song is" Kiss the Girl" from Ariel."

"That's a great song," The blonde arched a perfect brow.

"Maybe when you're a kindergarten teacher," He teased, "I listen to real music like Led Zeppelin and Bon Jovi."

"Who said that's real music, Seaweed Brain?" She said pointing to his t-shirt that read Marine Biologists: seaweeds with brains.

"Haha," Percy rolled his eyes, "Well what do you consider good music?"

She opened her mouth to respond but Estelle beat her to it.

"Okay Percy I'm ready. Are we gonna get icecream on our way home?"

"What are you gonna give me in return?" They started waking back into the school.

"We can watch any movie you want tomorrow." She declared.

"Any movie?" He narrowed his eyes at her.

"Any movie. Oh except toy story. I don't like watching Andy give all his toys away. And that mean pink bear scares me."

"So we can watch Frozen?" He picked her up to look straight at her.

"Yes!" She giggled, "But you can't sing along to every word. I like Elsa and Anna's voice."

He pouted at her and glared at Annabeth who had been silent until this moment, when she had hurriedly tried to cover up her laugh with a cough.

"Why don't you run to the car, little one," He put Estelle down, "If you can get there in under thirty seconds I'll let you have two scoops of ice-cream."

The little girl didn't so much as blink before she was racing down the hall.

"So Frozen huh?" Annabeth smirked, "Guess that's also considered good music?"

"I'll have you know Elsa and Anna are queens and icons of this generation."

"Personally I think Nani and Lilo are better role models but whatever you say," She grinned at him.

"How about we settle this debate over coffee? Friday next week?"

"I hope you know I was captain of the debate team in college so you're definitely going down."

"All I'm hearing is that you accepted to go on a date with me," It was his turn to smirk.

She laughed as he wiggled his eyebrows. He knew he looked ridiculous but her laugh was buttery and warm and he'd do most anything to keep hearing it.

"It's a date Percy Jackson."

His smile was bright and unrestrained as they waved goodbye.

"See you then Annabeth Chase."

I absolutely ship it so so much <3<3<3 I haven't been so active in the fandom lately but more just bc for a long time I was one of the (if not The) last active-ish members and at some point without new input from canon Or fanon the creativity just dries up! but I still ship them very much, both prime and mirror fit my ship type of Big Hurt Comfort Potential xD

🪠 – Do you have any skills passed on to you from a family member?

My dad taught me to bake cakes, my mom to bake Christmas cookies (funnily enough mainly from recipes from my dad's family), my mom also taught me origami and my dad general computer literacy... Maybe nothing especially interesting, but still :)

🛏️Bed – What was the best sleepover you ever had?

Ohh many good sleepovers in my teens, especially in the attic of my parents' house... but idk whether I still remember a particular one...

Ohh, when a friend of mine turned idk 15 or so we were at her place and played truth or dare and would dare each other to read smutty fanfic out loud, I remember that being very funny to us at the time xD and we also did that and similar silly dares at drama club camp but idk whether that counts as a sleepover?

On my 17th? I know it wasn't my 18th but it might have also been my 19th? Birthday, I also had a big sleepover party with different cliques from highschool, theatre, circus, dance, handball and my sister and a cousin there, it was really fun introducing everyone and playing Never Have I Ever together. I do miss playing those kinds of games more regularly! NHIE and Cards Against Humanity and other fun party games <3 we actually made a whole bunch of original cards for both xD fun times!

Oh and another one that stands out is when a couple years before that, the friend from ^1. mentioned sleepover and another good friend were at my place, we actually wanted to meet up with a couple more friends to watch Pitch Perfect together but in the end it was just the three of us and that turned out to be great actually because we ended up coming out to each other, the first outed ones of the increasingly gay theatre kids xD and it turned into a close friendship during the rest of highschool and we're still friends today though we all live quite far apart now and rarely talk, I did see them both at the end of last year :)

Technically my Avorah wip pile, but my longest actual fic is still the Bering and Wells fic Being Known I wrote back in February! Followed by Star Wars visions of a future past from October.

Ohhh so hard to pick just one, but the first thing that came to mind was my Avorah fic of borrowed swimsuits, panic attacks and parties without purpose!

I also made a moodboard for it and it's still my pinned

That's the kind of question I can never answer because I do Not remember my own writing well enough xD maybe some of the joke sections from Hacks (Avorah) fics? I really don't know :{

Oh thank you so much for this ask! But this is so hard to say, which is why these have accumulated in my ask box for ages xD

I think for my absolute fav, as seen in my header gif, I'll still have to say Andromaquynh "In Your Stead", or the Just You And Me series it's part of! It might not be my longest fic but it is one of my longfics and the one I just, idk, put the most heart into? I worked a lot on that one and it's still very dear to me <3

15 What’s your favorite time to write?

I don't know about favourite/, but I'm most productive in the middle of the night after having half asleep daydreams that turn into too coherent fanfics to pass up the opportunity to write them down while I still remember them... But of course then I'm overtired af the next day, so again I dunno about the favourite bit xD

I'm also good at writing in situations I can't escape where I can't do much else to amuse me, like on the train or stuck in boring lectures.

23 Is writing the beginning, middle, or end of the story easiest? Hardest?

Hmm depends on what part of the story was my first idea. Easiest is when I thought through the whole thing in one go either just before or while writing it down. Hardest is when I have a beginning and an end but no idea how to get from point A to point B, and that's why I still haven't posted part 3 of the Avorah series I'm writing xD

34 How much of your personal life/experience do you include in your fics?

Not much but also not nothing? I have a tag for fics that are vaguely inspired by real life events, because usually either a scene/conversation or the setting has been taken from my own life and adapted to fit the characters I'm writing about :) hey new ask meme ideas: try to guess what's taken from my life in those fics xD

52 What’s the average word count of your fics?

Oh holy fuck I have no idea! I mean, I think most of my fics are somewhere between 1 and 10k, but to get an actual average I'd have to look at way too many numbers! Or is there a bot or sth that counts through your ao3 for you? xD

🟥How long do you spend in edits?

Ohh not long at all usually, I like it best when I have an idea for a one-shot, think (daydream) the thing through, and write it down in one go. Maybe copy paste it to Word for spell check purposes or quickly beta read it myself to catch mistakes but I might just post as is tbh.

But it always depends! If it's a gift fic, especially for an Exchange or a birthday gift or sth, I'll get a beta reader - for the Bering and Wells fic last month, I had @purlturtle look it over and went back and forth over edits with her for a couple days until everything fit!

And when I have an idea but don't have the time to write it in one go so just write bullet points and then later have to sort it all out properly, or when I write a longer fic where I have to keep the storyline straight, that might take longer in edits.

🤔What are some words or phrases you find yourself overusing?

🐸 If you incorporated your OTP into a Disney movie plot, which would it be?

Oh gosh I have no idea - I mean, first I gotta pick an otp which I have too many of, second I'd have to pick a Disney movie which I don't know that many of... Easy answer is. I Would Simply Not Do That. I did come across some nice beauty and the beast and sleeping beauty inspired geraskier fics lately tho!

Comments! Subscriptions just vaguely baffled me, kudos are just numbers, and Tumblr asks are also really nice and definitely a close second place but not right there With the fic you know?

🌷What's one of your fics that isn't as popular, but you hold dear?

Hmm most that come to mind may not be that popular in numbers, but are from small fandoms so really they're not that unpopular either when that's taken into consideration? Also, of course, my memory is shite and I can't remember my own fics xD

I guess I wish my really short ficlets got some more love, like Slightly Smudgy for Avorah, but I also don't read many fics that length so really I can't complain xD
