COYER Summer Birthday Bash Challenge Wrap-Up #12
Tumblr media
This week, I wanted to encapsulate where I ended up with all my various challenge goals that I put up back before things got started on June 9th.  It could get long, apologies!  :)
1.  Overall, I put down that I wanted to read/listen to 20+ books for the entire challenge.  I finished at 79 books and novellas.   My list of finished reads is on a dedicated GoodReads shelf for those who want to see.
Tumblr media
2.  I wanted to visit other COYER participant reviews.  I think I put down some ludicrously low goal of commenting on three reviews a week.  I did that many in a day (mostly).  I didn’t realize when I began reading and commenting how much more socially connected it brought me.  I’ve discovered a few books to add for future reading and also enjoyed encountering and interacting with other COYER challenges this way.
3.  I wasn’t planning to participate in a blogger hosted mini-challenges, but Kristen at Book Monster blog’s Fairytale themed Instagram scavenger hunt was not to be passed up so I found the half dozen items and posted my finds up on my FB page.  I also did Anne @ Books Are My Heart’s FREEBIEs Challenge finishing 3 books for that week.  Then, I entered Lexxie and Brandee @Unconventional Bookworms’ Romantic Suspense challenge, but only managed one book.  I did a little of Stephanie @ Once Upon a Chapter’s Snackie challenge by taking a photo of favorite reading snacks.  Thank you to all the ladies who hosted.
Tumblr media
4. I did well at participating in the Facebook group games.  I love finding the COYER history trivia, figuring out Who killed Cora, adding to the story, granting wishes, and updating on my progress each week.  There were a few other clever online games, too.  But it is most fun b/c of doing it all with other challengers and the hostesses.   5.  I’ve been participating in the List all along and hit the goal of 19/21.  Here’s the deeets:
Miss Darcy’s Beax by Eliza Shearer
Nudging Cupid by Kerri Williams
All-American Cowboy by Dylann Crush
Son of a Preacher Man by Karen M. Cox
To Catch a Texas Star by Linda Broday
What Kitty Did Next by Carrie Kablean
Scandal Above Stairs by Jennifer Ashley
Small Town Rumors by Carolyn Brown
Inseverable by Cecy Robson
Bellewether by Susanna Kearsley
Shadow’s Bane by Karen Chance
Through the Fire by Katie Ruggle
Daughter of a Daughter of a Queen by Sarah Bird
Intercepted by Alexa Martin
Definitely Not Mr. Darcy by Karen Doornebos
Holiday in Death by JD Robb
Midnight in Death by JD Robb
Across Eternity by Aris Whittier
Persuade Me by Julie Archer
6. Also, I participated in the BINGO challenge.  I got BINGO on all four cards.  I missed blackout by only a few squares on each (in case you are wondering... dystopian, high fantasy, and horror were the ones.)
Tumblr media
7.   I participated in several of the weeklong Readathons, too. First, I did the Twist List and read three paperbacks.  Then the Strict List where I read three ebook freebies.  Then the twist list where I only listened to audios and finished one and a half Then the Scary Stories with only one done that week. But, in the final week with the short and sweet, I finished 11 novellas.
Tumblr media
8.  A separate readathon challenge was the two-week scavenger hunt and read 9 books giving me 9 clues found off the list.
So, it was all rather wonderful and helped me pull down several books off the shelves and stay caught up on review books.  It was a good balance of fun and challenge.
And, though this is definitely just icing on an already wonderful cake, I won one of the $10 Gift Cards.  Woohoo! I have to thank Michelle and Berls for putting it all together and, yes, I will be back for COYER Winter.

Virtues and Holiness ~ Maturing in Spirituality
Growth in our spiritual walk is not always easy, despite our desire to advance in our faith journey. Like with mostother plans we make, just as soon as we create a plan or a schedule, something crops up to make it necessary to change the time or day or something else about the plan. Spiritual maturity will occur as we continue to practice the virtues of faith, hope, love, justice, fortitude,…

COYER Big Summer Birthday Bash Challenge Update #5
Tumblr media
I’m on vacation visiting family this week so my numbers dropped as did most of my participation.  I advanced a little so I’ll share about that.
1.  Overall, I put down that I wanted to read/listen to 20+ books for the entire challenge.  I’m at 39 as of today.  Woohoo!  I’m hoping to pile on several more.  Feels great to be getting to some really dusty old freebies and cheapies and ARCs on my shelf.  My updated and ongoing list of finished reads is on a dedicated GoodReads shelf for those who want to see.
Here’s the link for my COYER finished reads: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/5063928-sophia?shelf=2018-coyer-big-summer-bash
2.  I wanted to visit other COYER participant reviews.  I think I put down some ludicrously low goal of commenting on three reviews a week.  I’ve been doing that many a day (mostly).  I’m on vacay so not able to visit, but sporadically at the moment.  I didn’t realize when I began reading and commenting how much more socially connected it brought me.  I’ve discovered a few books to add for future reading and also enjoyed encountering and interacting with other COYER challenges this way.
3.  I am participating in Anne @ Books Are My Heart Blog’s mini-challenge to Read and Link up my Freebie books.
I got three books read for her freebie challenge.
4. I’ve done pretty good with participating in the Facebook group games.  I love finding the COYER history trivia, figuring out Who killed Cora, adding to the story, granting wishes, and updating on my progress each week.  But it is most fun b/c of doing it all with other challengers and the hostesses.   5.  I’ve been participating in the List all along and hit 13 out of fifteen.  Here’s the Terrific Thirteen:
Miss Darcy’s Beax by Eliza Shearer
Nudging Cupid by Kerri Williams
All-American Cowboy by Dylann Crush
Son of a Preacher Man by Karen M. Cox
To Catch a Texas Star by Linda Broday
What Kitty Did Next by Carrie Kablean
Scandal Above Stairs by Jennifer Ashley
Small Town Rumors by Carolyn Brown
Holiday in Death by JD Robb
Midnight in Death by JD Robb
Definitely Not Mr. Darcy by Karen Doornebos
Bellewether by Susanna Kearsley
Inseverable by Cecy Robson
6. Also, ongoing, I’ve been participating in the BINGO challenge.  I got BINGO on #3 card this past week.  See the pic for the books that did the job.  I nearly have it on #4 card, too.
Tumblr media
And, now for this week I’m going to keep working on my list and finishing up what I started last week.
Cheering on the others with the challenge and having a good time.  Until next update!

COYER Big Summer Birthday Bash Challenge Update #2
Tumblr media
Last week, I shared that I was starting in on some mini challenges.  This week, I wanted to encapsulate where I’m at with all my various challenge goals that I put up back before things got started on June 9th.  To share, but also to encourage myself onward.  It could get long, apologies!  :)
1.  Overall, I put down that I wanted to read/listen to 20+ books for the entire challenge.  I’m at 28 as of today.  Woohoo!  I’m hoping to pile on several more.  Feels great to be getting to some really dusty old freebies and cheapies and ARCs on my shelf.  My updated and ongoing list of finished reads is on a dedicated GoodReads shelf for those who want to see.
2.  I wanted to visit other COYER participant reviews.  I think I put down some ludicrously low goal of commenting on three reviews a week.  I’ve been doing that many a day (mostly), but when I go on vacay in a few weeks I’ll not be visiting at all so I guess it balances out.  I didn’t realize when I began reading and commenting how much more socially connected it brought me.  I’ve discovered a few books to add for future reading and also enjoyed encountering and interacting with other COYER challenges this way.
3.  I wasn’t planning to participate in a blogger hosted mini-challenge, but Kristen at Book Monster blog’s Fairytale themed Instagram scavenger hunt was not to be passed up so I found the half dozen items and posted my finds up on my FB page. 4.  I’ve done pretty good with participating in the Facebook group games.  I love finding the COYER history trivia, figuring out Who killed Cora, adding to the story, granting wishes, and updating on my progress each week.  But it is most fun b/c of doing it all with other challengers and the hostesses.  5.  I’ve been participating in the List all along and hit the goal of ten out of fifteen.  Here’s the Terrific Ten:
Miss Darcy’s Beax by Eliza Shearer
Nudging Cupid by Kerri Williams
All-American Cowboy by Dylann Crush
Son of a Preacher Man by Karen M. Cox
To Catch a Texas Star by Linda Broday
What Kitty Did Next by Carrie Kablean
Scandal Above Stairs by Jennifer Ashley
Small Town Rumors by Carolyn Brown
Holiday in Death by JD Robb
Midnight in Death by JD Robb
6.  Also, ongoing, I’ve been participating in the BINGO challenge.  My BINGO card #1 go BINGO this last week.  Here’s the pretty sight:
Tumblr media
7.  Last week, was the first of COYER Twist and I chose LIST as my first Twist challenge.  I completed four from my list of fifteen which was a slightly modified list from the other overall List challenge I mentioned above.
Here are the pics for what books I finished for LIST:
Tumblr media
Butterfly Swords by Jeannie Lin
Death and the Brewmaster’s Widow by Loretta Ross
Al Capone Does My Shirts by Gennifer Choldenko
Tumblr media
And now, for this week, I’m moving into Phase 2 of COYER Twist and have chosen Strict Here’s my proposed list of ebooks that either were free or cost less than $1 or audios that were free or less than $5:
Inseverable by Cecy Robson
Wildfire by Ilona Andrews
Mission Improper by Bec McMaster
Bellewether by Susanna Kearsley Well, there you have it!  Wish me continued luck and stop back by next weekend to see how I fared with The STRICT.
