Pleasures are mortal while the virtues are immortal.*
In Greek mythology, the Three Graces were more commonly known as the Charites, although today, the Roman name, the Graces, is more often used. The Charites, or Graces, were three sisters, minor goddesses, and daughters of Zeus and the Oceanid Eurynome.
Hesiod, in the Theogony, named the Three Graces as, Aglaea, Thalia and Euphrosyne. The role of these goddess in Greek mythology was to spread goodwill, pleasure and mirth; and were also goddesses of song and dance, a role that would overlap with that of the Muses.
We start with the greatest of the virtues, Humilitas, Kwami of Humility. Again, you will see the same naming theme with the names being Latin (I hope at least). There's also a slight theme to their designs aside from being based off angels.
The second virtue, Castitas, Kwami of Chastity.
The third virtue, Patientia, Kwami of Patience
The fourth virtue, Diligentia, Kwami of Diligence.
The fifth virtue, Caritas, Kwami of Charity.
The sixth virtue, Temperantia, Kwami of Temperance.
And the seventh virtue, Liberalitas, Kwami of Generosity.
I will get around to designing the box and then uploading the box with the information with it. I hope to have that up tomorrow, but we shall we.
Thinking about the angelic choir of virtues, who’s job is to govern the celestial bodies. All the stars I see and all the ones little Jesus saw, have a virtue angel keeping it in it place, as its light twinkles light years gone back to us. Amazing.
In the shadow of the setting sun, where barbed wires and aching memories still linger, I stand as a Hebrew educator, a Jewish born and raised Israeli woman.
Today, I harbor envy. Envy towards other language educators who gleefully share their fun, uncharged language lessons, untouched by the shadows of prejudice and misunderstanding.
They are not burdened by the weight of being from a culture that, once again, faces persecution, hatred, and unfounded blame.
This is not my reality.
But I am well-acquainted with my truth.
"Never Again" is not just a phrase from the past; it is a present reality.
No amount of empty slogans, tearing down of posters, or disgraceful acts can deter me from my deeply-rooted values.
My pride in being part of the Jewish and Israeli community is unwavering.
Even in the face of unspeakable atrocities, we come together. When confronted with hatred and fear, we reach out, unite, and shine even brighter.
We chant, we pray, we sing, exemplifying the true values and virtues of our people.
It's no mere coincidence that Jews do not resort to terror attacks, do not shout violently in the streets, or target other groups.
Our inherent strength and resilience stem from an undying focus on life.
For us, living is not just about survival; it's about loyalty to our peaceful values, giving back to the community and the world at large, and lighting the way forward.
Our spirit will not be dimmed. We continue to shine, to live, and to love, no matter the challenges that lie ahead.
Now is the pivotal moment to decide upon your values and determine the character of your neighborhood, streets, city, and society as a whole.
When you take a stand, it's a testament not just to who you are, but to the kind of world you want to create.
The time has come to raise your voice and shape the future you demand.
Silence now could mean a lost opportunity forever.
Well I thought I would have a go at making one of these, since I reblog a lot of them. I've seen a few (extremely good) OC Ask lists based on the Seven Deadly Sins, so naturally I decided to do the complete opposite.
Chastity:
Is your OC a virgin? If not then how was their first sexual or romantic experience?
Does, or did, your OC consider sexual purity to be an important concept? If this is something about which they have changed their mind then what prompted this?
Are they judgemental about the romantic or sexual lives of others? Do they believe that monogamy is the only true form of relationship? Or do they view others who are less sexually adventurous as dull or repressed?
Do they ever play matchmaker for their friends or family members? If so then how successful are they at this?
Is your OC prudish about sexual matters or do they enjoy bawdy jokes or innuendos?
Temperance:
How good is your OC at self-control? Are there some things they struggle to resist more than others?
Is your OC generally calm and unperturbed by others? Or are they quick to get angry or frustrated?
What is your OC's attitude to alcohol? Do they enjoy and occasional (or very frequent) drink? Or do they look down upon inebriation?
Does your OC struggle with any addictions or compulsions? If so then how does this affect them?
Does your OC prefer quiet or solitary activities or are they a party animal who enjoys being the centre of attention?
Charity:
Does your OC believe in a higher or spiritual power which has love for them (or for their followers in general)?
Does your OC find it easy to love other people? Or are there psychological or intellectual barriers for them when it comes to loving others?
Is your OC sympathetic to the suffering of others? Do they feel motivated to offer help or support? Or do they enjoy seeing others suffer?
Does your OC have positive relationships with their neighbours or others in their community?
Does your character have any particular prejudices? Do other people ever consider them bigoted or judgemental?
Diligence:
Does your OC have a particularly strong work ethic? Do they believe that hard work is good in itself? Or do they prefer to relax whenever possible?
Does your OC believe that they can control outcomes in their life through their own efforts? Or do they see themselves as a helpless puppet of forces beyond their control?
Does your OC work better on their own or with others?
Does your OC enjoy their job or profession for its own sake? Or is it merely a means to an end?
Is your OC particularly tidy and organised? Or do they tend to be more messy and chaotic?
Kindness:
Is your OC usually kind to others? Or do they get enjoyment or satisfaction from being cruel? Does this depend upon the person in question or on other factors?
Does your OC behave differently towards other people depending upon how useful or not they might be to them?
How does your OC behave towards servants, students or other subordinates (their own or other people's)?
Is it easy for your OC to treat someone with courtesy, even if they personally dislike them or disagree with their views or actions?
Is your OC gentle and kind with children or do they avoid (or even actively dislike) them?
Patience:
How good is your OC at waiting? Do they get restless or frustrated easily?
Are there any particular habits in other people that drive them to distraction? How good are they are concealing this?
How does your OC respond to insults or jibes? Do they fly into a rage quickly? Or do they shrug them off?
Does your OC take their time when making a decision? Do they consider all possible outcomes and plan carefully? Or do they prefer to throw themselves into things impetuously?
Does your OC have long-term goals and plans towards which they are working?
Humility:
Is your OC modest? Or are there some things they like to boast about?
Does your OC ever "humble-brag"? How do others generally respond to this?
How much value does your OC place upon their appearance? Do they consider themselves beautiful or handsome?
Does your OC get irritated when encountering someone who is vain or arrogant?
Is your OC a bad loser? Or are they gracious in defeat?
Current Angel designs feat from top to bottom, left to right: Cassiel, Gabriel, Seraphiel, Mettatron, Zaphiel, Jeramiel, Raphael, Sachiel, Azazel, and Barachiel. I still have a few more to go to finish some basic ref images but I thought I’d show y’all what I have so far since I’ll be focusing on Halloween stuff for a bit.
At first I was thinking he should be pride but considering where he came from.. He is definitely envy. This octopus, bad or not, he is envious of Dream and those had a better life than him. He want that golden apple for himself.
Dream - Meekness
He actually kind of 7 virtues... You know, he is selfless.. Very, selfless. Even in original, he believes a corrupted brother of his is still there and deserve a second chance... He is very patience even if they hurts him, he always give a piece of him so others can be happy...
Ink- Pride
Ink is actually very complicated. After a while, I figure out he'll be pride. He never once apologize properly after his silly behavior and most of the au just show him being so confident in everything..
Lust - Lust
Do I need to explain? I love Lust but this is his sin 💀
Horror - Gluttony
I honestly don't believe Horror will he gluttony since he starved himself for years... Well, maybe if he did something after those you, he'll be like Beelzebub 💀 (the Bible one)
Killer/Dust - Greed
They both want more L.O.V, legit they are greedy for exp.
Error - Wrath
The manchild with his little baby tantrum <3. Yeah no, his tantrums are dangerous cause he's a destroyer!
(original) Sans - Sloth
No explanation 🙂
Swap - Chastity
Swap is so kind and always help the other in need but he is obviously chastity. Like damn, he is so respectful. He may believe in bad people can be good if they just try but he respects other if they just want to be bad.
