My friends and I were having a conversation, and I ended up somehow coming up with the idea of a merm Yo-kai based on a shark and they told me to please make it so...

Meet Shay! (Medal in the nametag by Yokai Benja)

Shay is a Slippery tribe Yo-kai of a similar species to Mermadonna, except they are based on a shark. Specifically the blacktip shark (I just chose it because I thought it looked cool haha)

As for their hair, I tried to give them a different hairstyle to distinct them from the other merms, so I gave them curly hair kinda based on the one Little Charrmer has^^

And as for their other features.

I made their arm/fins resemble those of a shark, and since they look sharp I thought it'd be cool if they used those to attack instead of their tail (though the tail could be like a finisher if they had something like Triple Attack hehe). I also made them more muscular, gave them sharp teeth and a spike collar to make them seem more "wild" as opposed to the other merms who look more "sophisticated".

As for their personality, I think it'd be funny if I made them look very scary and a bit unhinged, but once you get to know them they're actually very sweet (just like real life sharks hehe).

And that's all I have to say! It's a bit rare for me to make a Fankai that's neither not someone else's nor conceptualised by another person, but I like how they turned out^^ I might make them a medal at some point.

it's not even a bad fight it's just not memorable. 3 only has like two bad parts i can think of. the pearly gate of whimsy room (i cannot remember what the individual rooms are called rn) where you have to use the yo-kai drill n there's a bunch of LEVEL 99 YO-KAI you have to avoid but it's like IMPOSSIBLE to avoid all of them. and also the entirety of hazeltine mansion it is sooooo annoying it's like the worst way they could've used switching between nate n hailey in a dungeon. still has funni moments tho at least-

i love 3 and all but also i've played it twice and still barely remember the second phase of the final boss fight-

#puppy rambles #yo-kai watch #yw3 #grumbler's grotto is also annoying. can't remember the layout for the life of me #toooootally had to use the objective arrow there during my replaythrough from what i remember-#grumbler's grotto also has funni moments. like steve jaws being a fucking weirdo n just. having a whole lab there for some reason #silver lining (i assume little charrmer if you choose her but idr) asking nate n buck if they're okay and not waiting for an answer #he just. leaves #n also it has one of 3's many amazing boss fights. i mean i wish you didn't have to fight agent x/the executor so much #or that chapter 5 and 8 at least had other bosses alongside them #but 3's boss fights are v v good n creative #basically everything about 3 is amazing there's just a couple things i don't like as much #i mean all the games do. granted in 1 i mostly just retroactively don't like stuff that 2 changed that isn't there #quality-of-life features n stuff. wish jibanyan was more important. also the inconsistency of whisper's characterization #specifically whisper. idk on nate but katie's the same at least. jibanyan's anime characterization is basically the same #(apart from liking chocobars n next harmeowny those were both added in the anime n incorporated into 2)#it's just whisper. him actually being kind of smart is weird
