The view of the Cathedral from Jamaica Street. Lomo LC-A+.
It may be obvious to some of you how fond I am of hanging around the Jamaica Streets area of South Liverpool. It is the location of many of my favourite hangouts.
One day recently I was on my way home from one of these spots with my LC-A+ and heard the bells ringing from the Anglican Cathedral. Some days you can look at this magnificent building and it is bathed in an orange glow at sunset.

Anglican cathedral Liverpool sketch | Limited edition fine art print from an original drawing. My sketches start life as hand-drawn graphite images made on cartridge paper. I often work on these with charcoal, oil pastel or Caran d'Ache to create the look I'm after. The artwork is then scanned and finessed digitally ready for fine art printing. This process often referred to as Giclée printing uses the highest standard of printing methods to give gallery quality results that maintain all the details of the original sketch. The graphite pencils I use are Faber-Castel, the oil pastels are Sennelier and the china-graph is Caran d’Ache. The inks are pigment based archive quality (100years+). The heavyweight specialist papers I use are of the best professional quality having a wonderful surface designed specifically for fine art drawings and illustrations. Very limited editions with only ten per size printed. All artwork is signed and includes a certificate of authenticity. The A5 are 5.8" x 8.25" (14.8cm x 21cm) The A4 are 8.25" x 11.7" (21cm x 29.8cm) The A3 are 11.7" x 16.5" (29.8 cm x 42cm) The A2 are 16.5" x 23.4" (42 cm x 59.4cm) Originals are A3 11.7" x 16.5" (29.8 cm x 42cm) Frames not included in price. Free shipping on artwork to all destinations. https://www.seanbriggs.co.uk/product/anglican-cathedral-liverpool/?feed_id=4956&_unique_id=66ed1712508fd

Lincoln Cathedral
Lincoln Cathedral, Lincoln Minster, or the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lincoln and sometimes St Mary's Cathedral, in Lincoln, England, is a Grade I listed cathedral and is the seat of the Anglican Bishop of Lincoln. Construction commenced in 1072 and continued in several phases throughout the High Middle Ages. Like many of the medieval cathedrals of England, it was built in the Early Gothic style.
Some historians claim it became the tallest building in the world upon the completion of its 160 metres (525 ft) high central spire in 1311, although this is disputed. If so, it was the first building to hold that title after the Great Pyramid of Giza, and held it for 238 years until the spire collapsed in 1548, and was not rebuilt. Had the central spire remained intact, Lincoln Cathedral would have remained the world's tallest structure until the completion of the Washington Monument in 1884. For hundreds of years the cathedral held one of the four remaining copies of the original Magna Carta, now securely displayed in Lincoln Castle. The cathedral is the fourth largest in the UK (in floor area) at around 5,000 square metres (54,000 sq ft), after Liverpool, St Paul's and York Minster. It is highly regarded by architectural scholars; the Victorian writer John Ruskin declared: "I have always held ... that the cathedral of Lincoln is out and out the most precious piece of architecture in the British Isles and roughly speaking worth any two other cathedrals we have."

The Phil
(write up and video)
This pub, the Philharmonic, is truly the most gorgeous pub in Liverpool! A hundred and some odd years young, it boasts about a long gin list, real cask ales, gorgeous decor/woodwork, fine pub food and a fab marble & tile loo for the gents! I feel like I'm in a P.G. Wodehouse novel once I step in!
Located on Hope Street somewhat equi distant between the Anglican Church and the Metropolitan Cathedral (Paddy's Wigwam)

LECTURE 4: INFLUENCES (PART 1): If you get a chance, check out this fascinating police recruitment film shot in Liverpool in the year 1958. It features plenty of fascinating city scenes filmed of the city from around the time John, Paul and George were still The Quarrymen, and Ringo was in the Eddie Clayton Skiffle Group.  The skyline shots, particularly the footage of the Anglican Cathedral, are particularly breathtaking. According to one account (found here), this is the first film that contains the first footage of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison together. But I’ll be honest with you: I sure as hell don’t see it.  According to the YouTube page for this video above, John and Paul are visible at 34:10, but there is also someone in the comments section who says they’re visible at 34:31.. But I just ain’t seeing ‘em, in either scene. Maybe they’re too far away? Who knows? If you do happen to know where to find them in this film, please let me know! My email is [email protected]. Still, the film is a fascinating glimpse into Liverpool of the late 1950s.

the guy who designed these k6 boxes (and also the k2 the k6 was based on obviously) also did the design for liverpool cathedral (the anglican one not the spaceship looking one). fun fact.
also fun fact, the catholic (spaceship looking) one was designed by the same guy as london central mosque for some reason.
Also another fun fact, the aforementioned guy that designed the anglican cathedral was actually catholic, and also one of the designers of battersea power station. those 2 things are maybe not so related.

😍 Incredible Jacobean panelling in the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. The term comes from architecture dating back to or bearing characteristics of architecture during the reign of King James I from 1603 to 1625.
