What? Two pubs in one!?! This place is cool! On one side you have a steam punk sort of pub with cosy upstairs rooms for small intimate gatherings, the other side is a classic old pub with curtains, warm decor and outdoor seating! I really like this place! Plenty of local taps, charm, candle light, warmth and friendly service etc. This one is high on my list for mood, ambiance and decor.

Ma Egerton's Stage Door - 9 Pudsey Street Liverpool
I was feeling it was high time I visited this pub. They had some good beers on tap, but I recently saw something about their pizza and thought I'd pop in for lunch. This pub, from 1846, named after the longest operator, Mary Egerton, has all the look and charm you'd expect from an older pub surrounded by theatres of the day, but with close proximity to the Empire Theatre now, they offer food and bev to theatre patrons and actors before and after shows. I ordered the Sean Connery, which was the Margarita Pizza. Good. Coupled with the Dick Turpin best bitter out of Cheshire, it was a really nice visit!

The White Star 2-4 Rainford Gardens, Liverpool, UK.
Venerable victorian pub, named after the shipping company. Offering a nice range of real ales. Somewhat famous from the Beatles going in to get their checks from their very first manager, Allan Williams. It's also said they played their first gig there!
I feel the place attracts character and it's always a pleasure to pop in!

I had a great pit stop today, having a nice (and interesting) Elderflower Pale Ale from Purple Moose Brewery in Wales!

I've had some renewed interest in street scene photography, having just met a bloke who does this type of work.

Without a doubt this might be my favorite place to visit in Liverpool! So much so, I was inspired to ask my gal to marry me there!
They have beer, and a cheese plate, but what they do best is mixed drinks, plus great live music Thursday-Sunday! Go, sit, smile and hold hands as romance is always in the air, great atmosphere.
Oh...they also have 2 other locations, one on Lark Lane and another on Allerton Road.

This traditional pub is a viable respite from the thumping beats 1/2 block from Seel Street.
I went in on a Saturday night and it was quite busy, (chocka) but they still managed to serve you quickly offering a good selection of cask beers and gin. I had a perfectly poured Guinness. The decor, lighting and overall vibe was pretty cool with a fair mix of young and old patrons enjoying themselves.
I'll be visiting again!

Cool old block and pub. I've only been in once. Nice vibe, somewhat younger crowd. Today I was just riding by on my bike and saw some magical sunlight, so I stopped for a snap.

Long time Belgium Brewer makes this blonde St. Pierre. It caught my eye at Aldi as it was on sale. It tastes like a heffe. Lite...little bit floral, little bit citra. Not bad, not bad. Certainly worth the price. Quite often I'll get a box of the Stella unfiltered for home as it tastes good and it's reasonably priced. This tasted better than that, so I'd give it a thumbs up.

Upon a recent visit to relatives in Rugby, (relatively close to Oxford) I had the great pleasure of catching a wonderful singing duo called The Weeping Willows! It was at a cool venue in Leamington Spa called Temperance Cafe, Arts & Events, what a night! First off, this couple from Australia had a terrific sound & vibe! Think of a Sun Records, Everly Brothers, Chris Issack Gothic mash up! While I'm posting a cover here, they certainly had terrific tunes of their own, great song writers, check 'em out on Spotify! I really hope I get to see them over in the states! Lastly, the venue was cozy and comfortable with good acoustics, very clear, yet warm. Nicely done folks.

The Handyman Pub - 461 Smithtown Rd., Liverpool
I finally got a chance to visit the Handyman Pub with a football match on!
I enjoyed the atmosphere of the big screen with back room banter, and the England fans, but I have to admit, it was a bit hot back there AND stuffy. I also had a weisse beer that tasted a bit too sour for my liking. I forgot the name of it, but it was a weird long funky name.
I still had a good time, but we left early, so I'm not sure what that says.

The Midland Liverpool
25 Ranelagh Street
This pub is similarly described by the owner... a relaxed pub to take the weight off and chill. I popped in on a sunny, reasonably hot day and had a pint of a recent favorite of mine, the Theakston Mild. If my memory serves me, I believe they charged me 2.80. I'm pretty sure it was under 4 pounds with crisps! My visit was so relaxed, I went very skimpy on the photos, so I'll certainly have to come back! With wood paneling, plush seats and dating back to the 1800's and something, it had just the right feel so give 'em a visit.

Amalia Cicchetti
1 Henry Street, Liverpool
My fiance and I stumbled upon this place after a doctor's appointment across the street. Fantastic! A wonderful Italian Deli (an off shoot from the Amalia Restaurant) small bites, coffee and sandwich place! Ok, ok, I know it's not a pub review, but a great place to visit just the same. Fast smiling service and reasonably priced for the quality of food! I highly recommend it!

Pogue Mahone, Seel Street, Liverpool
This is a fab Irish bar that knows how to entertain and serve Guinness! I went in with my fiance on a Wed night and even on a Wed, the entertainment was buzzin'! The weekends are always chocka, but in such a good way. One of my favorites in town.

Do not attempt to adjust your phone, the floor is in fact...uneven! But that didn't stop me from having a nice chat with Sue the bar keep, laughing with my cariad and simply having a good time in this legacy pub.
