I am so fond of my headcanon that shadow has no idea how money works
Like he knows he exchanges money for goods, but he has no idea of the value anything holds
G.U.N issued him a bank account that they pay into, but he has absolutely no way of quantifying the amount in there. He was just told that he was not to give the numbers on the card to Rogue.
He once bought a $300 bag of coffee because he liked the packaging. He has a designer jacket that cost thousands and it was only when Amy pointed out that she knew the brand that he realised it must have been expensive. He’s bought VIP tickets for their concert trips more than once by mistake, then got frustrated when they tried to bring him backstage to meet the band (which he accidentally paid to do).
A few of his friends have described him as ‘surprisingly generous’ but truly he just has no idea what things cost

just a reminder if you're ever going on a cute little trip and think oh i won't need the rolly suitcase i'm a minimal girlie...you're wrong, you will want to buy 13 books and cute little knick-knacks wherever you go and you will regret your choice the entire time
#gave in on the last day and bought a rolly suitcase and it was still a lot i'm tired#i mean the exception is obviously if you're driving cause then bbygirl i will load up the car with tchotchkes#but if you are taking any kind of public transportation be aware the building will hate you and will still have you heaving your rolly#suitcase down stairs or walk so far out of your way to get onto a urine scented elevator#and that's if you're ubering it if you are taking a bus or train to that plane or other train...you WILL feel the rage boiling inside#text!

WiP Wednesday - Magical Trucker Glimmer AU (I guess???)
Glimmer rolled her eyes. “She will be in about five minutes according to her. Magic allergy.”
“I’m NOT all-HERMP!” Catra ducked her head back down into the bag as she finally threw up. “Gods damn it.”
“Oh wow, Entrapta would love to study this.” The absolute unit of woman said, nodding and smiling as if her friend wasn’t vomiting in public right now. “Aw, thanks for bringing her here! Really means a lot!! What do I owe you?”
Glimmer winced as Catra moaned pitifully. “You know what? This one is on the house. Hope the engagement goes well!”
“Ha! Yeah! Me too!”
With that Glimmer turned and walked to the counter to see if there were any jobs she could take just to escape this and she had never been more grateful to transport a whole ass vehicle in her life. The complications of all the little parts that rattled around on the inside was a very, very welcome distraction from weird cat women and their magical allergies from hell. Also it got her away from the sick, major bonus.

a decent car within my price point appeared so things might not be so bad after all 😭
#transportation has been a linchpin of soooo much stress#and i needed something functional within the next month or so or things were going to rapidly get Bad lmao#not that things already aren't#BUT 🍑#car = way more work and also getting to dr's appointments much more easily and just...life in generalllllllll. errands. groceries. friends.#save a whole bunch of time and take off a mental load#also makes it possible for me to have a Schedule again because right now whenever I am able to do things is up to the whims of the gods#anyway AHHHHH#things were easier before i had to move but this current place is super out of the way bus-route wise#grateful to be here but it takes literal hours to get anywhere rn#so car's gonna make a huge huge difference
