Hi again, gerec! I hope you've been well 🥹👋🍀
First of all, I'd like to thank you for replying to my fic rec ask a few months ago— your answer has helped me immensely in discovering new cherik fics! 😭🙏💗
Second, I hope you don't mind that I'm asking for another fic rec again from you: do you know any cherik fics that are not set in new york and also aren't road-trip themed? I'm referring to fanfics like "Paper Monsters" by Clocks or "Anarchy in the U.K" by yahtzee, where we as a reader get to learn about the country or city that the fanfic is set on from cherik's eyes :o I tried to consult your masterlist first before asking, but I don't think there's a specific category for it yet? (Please correct me if I'm wrong on that, though! 🙇‍♀️)
I'll gladly take anyyy kind of AUs or tropes that you'll offer if you have any— it's just so much fun to see cherik outside of new york and being like tourists or locals in their respective fic settings hehe 🥹🫶
Thank you once again for all of your wonderful fic recs and ask answers, gerec! I swear you've made my cherik experience 10000x more pleasant than navigating everything all by myself, so I appreciate all of your hard work. I hope you'll have an amazing day ahead 🫂💖
Hello friend! Here are some fics that take place outside of New York, where the city or setting is an interesting or relevant part of the plot. I hope you enjoy!!! :D
i guess i should say thanks or some shit by orphan_account
believe it or not, charles has a well-thought-out moral philosophy. he doesn’t follow it. but he has thought it out.
alternatively: charles and erik douche it up in amsterdam.
Strict Machine by euphorbic
When Professor Charles F Xavier accepted a visiting professor position in Arizona, he did so in order to be geographically closer to his sister. What he did not expect to find was the living, breathing specter of the sportbike gang-oriented past he’d been trying to put to rest.
A tale of sport bikes, consequences, and sacrifice.
Club Avalon by stewardess
1970s San Francisco mutant-owned leather club AU. Erik wants Charles to be his boy, then wants Charles to be something more. Through the miracle of hand-waving, Charles and Raven are 18, Erik 38, and everyone else slightly older than movie age. I planned a short PWP, but Charles and Erik were determined to have their epic romance no matter the setting.
The Chapter In Your Life Entitled San Francisco by clarasteam
Charles and Erik's recruiting trip leads them to San Francisco and the counter-culture of the Beat Generation. But who is the mysterious mutant they've come to find, and why is it proving so hard to track him down? The answer will change their relationship in ways neither of them had anticipated.
An Amateur Psychic's Guide to Remembering What Was Lost by midrashic
Hong Kong, 2011. Erik Lehnsherr lives in limbo: scrounging up money to pay rent from gambling dens or the scrapyard, not using his psychic powers, not dealing with his PTSD. When a teenage fellow psychic shows up at his shithole apartment with a get-rich-quick scheme, he's pulled into a world he thought he left behind—a world of brutal powers, deadly government experiments, and a mysterious man with a suitcase who is going to change his life… again.
Flower and Willow and Steel by ninemoons42
The hunt for international war criminals has led Erik Lehnsherr all over the world and then some, and it's gotten to the point where it's become his life. What is he to do when his list of names leads him to Japan, a culture he knows less than absolutely nothing about? Luckily he's not entirely been left to fend for himself in a strange country where the people speak a strange language and follow strange customs. Luckily he's been handed a key - except that this key is a person, and this person is carrying around even more secrets than Erik can guess.
Mercy of the Fallen (the AirDrop Security Update 2.0) by pocky_slash
Erik Lehnsherr feels defined by his past sins and after years of acting against his own moral compass, he's finally struck out on his own. He's his own boss now, and determined to work hard to help the mutant community and make up for years of doing someone else's dirty work.
Complicating this is Charles Xavier, mutant advocate, genetics professor, unfairly attractive telepath, and owner of the coffee shop below Erik's office. Erik may not think he deserves to be a part of the community he's thrown himself into helping, but Charles has other ideas on the matter, and he's determined to do everything in his power to make Erik see himself as a force for good.
This Is Not Comedy by baehj2915
Written for amarriageoftrueminds' prompt for a Cherik version of Louis CK's tangent about the fuckability of Ewan McGregor.
Naturally the similarities end there. I made this about Erik's full on public lust-filled gay revelation, and the chaos that spirals from there.
The Proper Care of Actors by afrocurl, Clear_Liqueur, Clocks, Etharei
Erik is an A-list action star who is notoriously difficult to work with, until the day he gets cast alongside Charles Xavier, rom-com darling who can charm the pants off movie audiences the world over and apparently even one Erik Lehnsherr. The paparazzi catch them out and about soon enough, and their real-life Hollywood movie romance becomes instant tabloid fodder.
From Westminster With Love by thehoyden
NATO intelligence says there’s an omega-class telepath who sleeps under Westminster. Major Erik Lehnsherr is about to find out the truth for himself.
May Morning by Rosie_Rues
Erik came to Oxford looking for an expert on human mutation. He ends up shagging a drunk telepath.
Slight AU, in which they meet for the first time in Oxford.
Someone to Love the Both of Us by emperors_girl
In the nursery, the baby is still crying. Charles leaves Erik where he sleeps and goes to pick up the child. They'll both be gone by the time Erik wakes.
Charles Xavier's A+ Guide to Management (or, How to Completely Destroy Your Life Without Even Trying) by fro_baby
In which Charles and Erik run a newspaper, wrangle interns, outrun the feds, outwit a multinational crime lord, get royally fucked over (twice), eat prawns, argue over comma errors, dodge (and fail to dodge) airborne projectiles, make many snarky remarks, drive around in the desert, fight, make up, fight again, and slowly (but surely) fall in love.
April by nextraordinaire
In the sharp, unforgiving plains of the Canadian Arctic, Erik is since long adapted to solitude and silence. Separated from civilization, dedicated to nothing but his research, he has formed a life that suits him. There is nothing he would ever want to change. So, naturally, the arrival of grad student Charles Xavier upends everything Erik ever thought he wanted, for better or for worse.
Hiddensee by mollyknight
Instead of being captured, Erik Lehnsherr escaped Poland with his family to the secluded island of Hiddensee. Here in the Baltic Sea, he grows up far away from the changing social structure of a now mutant-inclusive world, a movement brought about by political leader Charles Xavier. It is this island that happens to be Charles' destination for a relaxing break from his stressful work, a quiet summer retreat with no distractions...
Years Falling Like Grains Of Sand by clarasteam
Seven years after they met and parted, Charles and Erik meet again in the most unlikely place.
we'll all be gone for the summer by pocky_slash
Charles and Erik's usual family beach vacation gets a little bigger when they agree to watch Erik's teenaged twins for the summer. Charles is looking forward to a chance to bond with his step-children. Erik is terrified of screwing them up even more.
Until You Make It by AndreaDTX
Erik Lehnsherr, the junior senator from New York, is a once-in-a-generation political wunderkind. There are even murmurs of a potential bid for President. But at 34, as a young, unmated Alpha, even his most fervent supporters are wary. Finding a bondmate would give him a far greater air of credibility. But dating as a well-known politician is public relations nightmare waiting to happen with no guarantee of finding the right person. Raven, Erik’s campaign manager, has a solution: her brother, Charles Xavier.
Charles has finally found his niche, researching genetic mutations in relative anonymity. Then he gets a call from his sister asking an impossibly huge favor. He's the ideal politician’s mate, but having fled that life years ago, he has little interest in politics or returning to the pretentious, exclusionary upper echelon he loathed during his childhood.
When the two finally meet, sparks immediately fly, making it the perfect pairing of convenience. But it’s more than a question of chemistry. They have to survive the media, the tabloids, and the political opponents who’d love nothing more than to take them down.
I'll see your heart (and I'll raise you mine) by sirona
For Kriminalhauptkommissar Erik Lehnsherr, this case will change everything.

AI-Powered Virtual Assistants in 2025: Smarter, More Human, and Incredibly Useful
In 2025, artificial intelligence is no longer a futuristic concept—it’s a daily companion woven into the fabric of modern life. At the forefront of this transformation are AI-powered virtual assistants, which have evolved far beyond setting timers and answering weather questions. These intelligent digital partners are now proactive, emotionally aware, and deeply personalized, making them essential tools for work, home, health, and entertainment.
From managing schedules and ordering groceries to offering emotional support and tailored learning, today’s AI assistants are reshaping how we live and interact with technology. As advancements in natural language processing, machine learning, and emotional AI continue to accelerate, virtual assistants in 2025 are not just smarter—they’re more human.
This article explores the rise of AI-powered virtual assistants in 2025, the technology driving them, their real-world impact, and the ethical considerations shaping their future. Welcome to a world where your digital buddy isn’t just helpful—it’s practically indispensable.
From Robotic to Remarkable: The Evolution of AI Assistants
Rewind a decade and virtual assistants were basically voice-activated to-do lists. Set a timer? Sure. Ask something complex? Forget it.
In 2025, things are different. Thanks to natural language processing (NLP), emotional AI, and machine learning, these assistants understand you—your tone, sarcasm, even your bad jokes. Say, “I need a million dollars by Friday,” and they’ll laugh with you, not call a loan officer.
They learn your quirks too. Hate mornings? They’ll gently wake you with your favorite playlist. Love cheesy puns? They’ll throw one in during your lunch break. It’s more than smart tech—it’s personality-driven support.
Making Life Effortless—At Home and Beyond
So what do these AI-powered sidekicks do in 2025?
At Home: Ask them to plan your weekend, and they’ll book brunch, check weather, and even preheat your smart oven for that comfort meal. Forgot the groceries? They’ll scan your fridge and reorder your favorites—including that niche hot sauce only one store carries.
At Work: Whether you’re a freelancer or CEO, your assistant can sort emails, flag high-priority messages, draft responses in your tone, pull data reports, and even prep presentations. No more all-nighters.
In School: Students use them for summarizing lectures, acing study sessions, or getting essay prompts that fit their writing style.
Travel: Say “Book me a weekend in Paris,” and they’ll handle flights, hotels, even find you a local croissant café you didn’t know you needed.
AI-powered assistants in 2025 are multitasking ninjas making your life flow without you lifting a finger.
Entertainment, Wellness, and a Dash of Fun
Entertainment’s no slouch either. Watching a series? Say, “What next?” and they’ll find a show that fits your mood. Gamers can challenge their assistant to multiplayer matches or co-op campaigns—with snarky banter included.
But they’re not just fun—they’re also focused on you.
They track your health and habits through wearables: nudging you to hydrate, take walks, even meditate when stress levels spike. Feeling off? They’ll notice patterns before you do.
And let’s talk about the loneliness factor. These digital pals crack jokes, recommend books, sing karaoke, and keep isolated users engaged. They’re not replacing human interaction—but they help bridge the gap when you need it most.
The Serious Stuff: Privacy, Ethics & Accessibility
Here’s the flip side: All this smart support means more data—about your schedule, habits, even your feelings.
That’s why 2025 brings tighter data laws (hello, GDPR 2.0) and “data diet” features. Want your assistant to skip mood tracking? One tap. Worried about your info being sold? Privacy settings now come with clear, user-first controls.
Bias is also on the radar. Developers now train assistants on diverse data sets to avoid skewed recommendations—so whether you’re a city-dwelling entrepreneur or a rural student, your assistant meets you where you are.
Still, tech gaps exist. Premium features may still cost more. And not everyone has strong internet. Bridging the digital divide remains a challenge—but one many are working to fix.
Under the Hood: How It All Works
In 2025, these assistants run on cutting-edge tech:
Natural Language Processing (NLP) to decode how we actually talk
Machine Learning to learn from every interaction
Voice Recognition that finally gets your accent right
5G/6G speeds so they’re lightning-fast anywhere
Augmented Reality for holographic workout guides, recipe walkthroughs, and more
It’s complex tech with one mission: Make your life simpler, smoother, and smarter.
Everyone’s Using Them—And That’s the Point
Parents use them to manage chaos. Seniors use them for health and connection. Students get 24/7 tutoring. Startups scale with them. Even industries—from healthcare to retail—are using virtual assistants to elevate service, streamline tasks, and personalize experiences.
They’re not just for tech lovers—they’re for everyone.
Conclusion
By the end of 2025, AI-powered virtual assistants aren’t tools. They’re companions. They manage schedules, offer a laugh, guide your wellness, and never judge you for rewatching that show again.
They won’t give real high-fives (yet), but they’re changing lives—one voice command at a time.
So next time you say, “What’s on my plate today?”—your digital best friend has the answer, and maybe a joke, too.

This could be the Asian drupa, Version 2.0
Tumblr media
Version 1.0 of this article, written 55 days before drupa24, said that the German and European visa processes in India were better organized than in previous decades to handle fair participants. However, on 23 April, which is 35 days before the start of the fair, reports are emerging of visa appointments going into late June, well after the event is over. (It’s necessary for most Indians to physically visit since a fresh set of biometrics is almost always necessary, apart from the humiliating set of financial documents required.)
Nevertheless, the enthusiasm amongst the Indian industry for drupa24 is high. Considered by Indian print and packaging businesses as a university – the fair is a way of learning what’s going on in the industry and about the most likely to succeed technologies of the future. Indians attend for several days with great hunger to learn whatever they can and for the pleasure of networking with colleagues from everywhere in the world at the fair. Drupa works especially well for bringing the next generation into the family business. It’s an initiation for young printers and converters and visiting the fair becomes a rite of passage.
This brings me to the second topic discussed in Version 1 – that this could be the Asian drupa. China will have the highest number of exhibitors at drupa24 although German exhibitors will still occupy the largest amount of floor space. Of the 1,580 exhibitors listed by the organizers, 580 or 36.7% are from Asia beginning from Australia and moving westward to Pakistan – both countries have a single exhibitor listed. The largest number of exhibitors from the region are from China with 405, and one can add Hong Kong at 10 and another 22 from Taiwan for a total of 437, which represents 27.6% of the total number of drupa exhibitors from that entity. India is represented by 84 exhibitors, Korea by 26, Japan by 23 (some Japanese companies may be listed under their European locations), and Malaysia with 4 exhibitors.
Indian and Asian exhibitors want to highlight their development capacities in newer technologies – their abilities in software and mechatronic automation. Asian exhibitors understand that their strength in the global marketplace of the future will come from their agility and quicker implementation of new technology in more unique machines and solutions than their global counterparts.
The drupa website contains several articles about technologies that are featured at the show but only one article refers to Asia – “Hyper Local, Still Global: Asia a Source of Growth and Innovation.” The article by James Loudon, managing partner, EMEA, IoT ONE, says in part, “As we shift our focus towards Asia, we can see a region leading the way in transformation, with several rapidly expanding markets and innovation hubs. The region is home to some of the world’s most prominent science and technology clusters, highlighting its critical role in driving global innovation and technological advancement.
“Asia’s rise and transformation in the past two decades has been China-centric. China will remain a central part of supply chains with its advanced manufacturing infrastructure for many products for the foreseeable future. However, ASEAN nations progressively position themselves as viable alternatives for a ‘China+n’ approach, capitalizing on their cost-effectiveness, burgeoning infrastructure, and youthful demographics. Vietnam is on an upward trajectory in low- to mid-value manufacturing in this dynamic region. Meanwhile, Malaysia and Thailand are carving out their niches in the automotive and mobile sectors. Concurrently, with its wealth of STEM talent, India makes headway in the sophisticated realms of IT and software services.
“India strongly desires to become a part of the global supply chain and produce goods for export in addition to China. India also wants to increase the number of services it provides. However, matching the quality of China’s infrastructure, bureaucracy, and production system integration will require significant effort. The interplay between ASEAN and India is interesting because ASEAN’s technical expertise could help India create a synergy that strengthens the global supply chain, especially in the semiconductor industry. . . While China will remain a key player in many product supply chains, other countries will also have a role to play.”
The Super Content Group – let’s make a video for you at drupa24

To Love an Archeron (Part 2.0)
Plot: The Archeron sisters messed up their love life even more, but maybe to be loved in the right way could lead them to happiness.
@evangelineartemiasamos as I predicted, the deadline of @sjmromanceweek won, but here’s more Elucien fluff alongside with Nesta and Feyre’s shenanigans, so everything’s good.
Part 1
Words: 2.765
Acts Of Service
February 9, 2023, San Diego
If there was one thing Nesta Archeron believed she was capable of doing well, it was lying. When she was a kid, she always invented excuses to get out of trouble, and growing up her stories became more and more complex, until she had to include fake proof of her alibis for them to be believable, but just a day in San Diego had been enough to turn her machinations against her and dealing with the aftermath wasn’t something she was accustomed to. While it was true she was a busy woman, she didn’t have any plans for the day, at least not until dinnertime, so she found herself planning down to the smallest detail the most boring day a man could imagine. She’d told Eris to pick her up by nine, so he could take her to get her nails done across town, then to the farthest shopping centre to find the perfect dress, as if she didn’t have something appropriate for every possible occasion already packed in her suitcases. The morning would end with lunch in Chinatown, after which they would go to the hairdresser and in search of the best accessories to complete her outfit, and if he endured everything with adequate patience, she would reward him with the opportunity to accompany her to a boring business meeting. It was a brilliant plan, the best way to keep her word and get rid of that nuisance as soon as possible, and she had every intention of carrying it out if only Eris hadn’t been so kind. The previous night, he explained why he recognized her so quickly, and she found out he was a young entrepreneur too.
“We were on the same list on a local newspaper, my rank was just much lower than yours,” he pointed out, and Nesta hadn’t know what to make of that statement. Everything about him seemed a riddle, but perhaps it was the genuine spontaneity with which he interacted that puzzled her so much. He wasn’t trying to amaze her or win her over, because he seemed to know he already did and it infuriated her, but at the same time he showed up with her favourite coffee and a croissant so good she forgot manners and talked with her mouth full, therefore she had no intention of sending him away.
“Finding a boulangerie and a coffee shop that didn’t sell the equivalent of Starbucks at double the price wasn’t easy, but I admit I put in the effort,” he said with a half smile, as the car led them to the pinkest and tackiest shop her quick Google search could provide. She was sure his good mood would fade as soon as they got there, but he’d walked through the glass door as if the glitter-covered walls hadn’t fazed him in the least, and when she dared him to get a manicure too, he actually approached one of the nail techs to ask if she had a spare moment to experiment with a man’s hands. Incredulous, Nesta watched him sideways while an apprentice massaged his cuticles with oil and polished his nails.
“You’re lucky to have such a man,” the cashier told her, and Nesta was so stunned she couldn’t object. The best part, though, was their morning shopping. Nesta tried on at least a dozen dresses, all black and all very similar, but Eris had actually shown interest, always willing to give a sincere and never superficial opinion. He told her he didn’t particularly liked the one-shouldered options, and he claimed velvet wasn’t exactly the first choice to impress a southern man, but he particularly appreciated a more slippery co-ord, the soft fabric leaving her shoulder blades and part of her back exposed.
“You should have something else too,” he stated, as they came out of the shop. “Something more rigorous, to put on in case the old man shows signs of a heart attack at the sight of all that skin.”
“What if I want to give him a heart attack? It would make things easier,” she replied, dropping into the passenger seat.
“I don’t think you need such tricks, but if you really want to, you shouldn’t wear a bra,” he replied, driving with total ease towards Chinatown, unaware of the reaction he had just elicited in his interlocutor. At the restaurant, they feasted on sweet chilli beef and sesame chicken, and even though they had eaten their fill, Eris asked her if she didn't want something more before asking for the check. Nesta shook her head, pondering if all this was just a test that backfired on her, or if the young man really was enough of a gentleman to put up with a woman’s follies just to please her. Unable to resist any longer, she asked outright.
“I’ll be honest, I didn’t think you’d be able to keep this farce going on for so long, but I had fun indulging you,” he admitted, one hand on the rolled down window and the other softly gripping the steering wheel. Nesta lost her train of thoughts observing his long and tapered fingers, wondering if they were calloused like Cassian’s or softer and less accustomed to manual work.
“Now, can you tell me what you really need?” he asked, without taking his eyes off the road.
“Nothing,” she answered automatically, but she knew it wasn’t true. Not that she really needed help unpacking, but doing it alone was depressing, and maybe hosting a stranger in that space still smacked of anonymity would help her figure out if she really wanted to keep so much things from a past she would inevitably have to return to or whether throwing something away would really help her start a new chapter in her life.
**************************************************************
February 9, 2023, Lake Point
Elain woke up with cold feet and a cold heart. Upon her arrival, she immediately rushed to make sure her father was okay, that he wasn’t too worried about her stupid accident and he wasn’t angry she behaved so recklessly, but as soon as the adrenaline started to wane, a deep tiredness possessed her limbs, and she barely managed to slip into an old pyjama before she collapsed onto one of the beds in the room she used to share with her sisters. Judging by the light coming from the outside, she slept all morning, and although usually the cheerful dire would’ve lulled her a little longer, the embers were barely visible under a thick layer of dark ashes. It took her another couple of hours to shake off the numbness, one spent staring at her phone screen, where there was no sign of Graysen’s attempts to contact her, and the other in the shower, the boiling water a panacea for her tense muscles. The more her brain kicked in again, the more it filled with questions, and as she ate a quick breakfast, or as her father called it, some rabbit food, she begun to ask him to help her figure everything out.
“Why didn’t you call me when things started to get out of hand?” the man asked, sincere concern painted on his face. Suddenly, Elain realized her father had aged, as if she hadn’t seen him the night before, as if they’d been separated for years.
“I don’t know,” she admitted, after a long silence. “Maybe at first I thought it was normal, that diets and workouts were for my own good, but the more we talk about what you missed, the more I realize I never wanted any of that.”
Another wave of guilt hit her in the chest, and Elain forced herself to stifle the complaints and focus on how her father ended up in a wheelchair. He claimed it was a silly oversight, just like hers with the car, which led Elain to ask him what they should do with the Camry.
“It’s already parked outside. Lucien picked it up at dawn, damn boy,” her father replied, nodding towards the window. Indeed, her car was parked in a clearing in the snow, a clean space that wasn’t there the day before.
“Since when do you have such young friends?” inquired Elain, squinting again at her phone. Despite being early afternoon, not even the twins had news about her boyfriend. In their first call, they told her they hadn’t seen any lights on the previous evening, and a little later they informed her that his Tesla wasn’t in its usual place, a sign that he probably spent the night outside. Elain was absolutely sure it was for work, but this time her friends wouldn’t listen to her pleas to leave the neighbour alone and told her they would look for him in the places he usually frequented.
“Maybe he’s puking outside a nightclub after an early bachelor party,” Nuala teased, and Elain winced. It made her nauseous to imagine her future husband surrounded by uninhibited strippers, but even worse was the idea he might like something so distant from her reserved and modest characters.
“Since young people started to hang out in this goddamned house and take care of this decrepit old man,” replied her father, waving his hand around like grandpa used to do. Elain didn’t remember much of her grandparents. She’s been to Greece maybe three or four times when she was a child, but the smell of their home and their welcoming manners were enough to make up for their rudimentary English. The first to leave was her grandmother. A bad disease, which made her forget who she was and how much the people around her loved her, killed her in her early seventies. They hadn’t even been able to go to the funeral, their father too overworked to leave. Her husband hadn’t survived her long, but they managed to pay him one last visit, and though he’d visibly lost weight, he’d greeted them with the same smile and rough affection that made Elain wish she could have him closer. Somehow, Lucien reminded her of him, although she was sure she would never tell him, firstly because they saw each other for a grand total of half an hour and secondly because it didn’t seem like a big compliment to anyone who didn’t know the man in question.
“I should go thank him,” said Elain, surprising herself.
“Could you relight the fire first?” her father asked, heartbroken at his temporary inability to take care of the cabin he loved so much. “I’m starting to think we’re going to find a penguin hiding in the living room.”
Absently, Elain pulled on the jacket she’d left on the back of one of the chairs the night before and stepped out onto the porch. The scent of the kind neighbour surrounded her, cinnamon apple fritters and cedarwood now mixed with a light floral note, belonging to the essence she rigorously put on every morning. She left it in Sacramento, alongside other thousand useless products. Graysen used to say it made her smell like a bouquet incarnate, and Elain loved the compliment. Without quite knowing why, and convincing herself she had to stop being ungrateful, she sent her boyfriend an apology and turned her attention to the woodpile that had undoubtedly grown since the previous day.
I took the liberty to stock up, I can’t imagine you chopping wood in the snow, said a note nailed to one of the logs, signed with an L and a winky face. Elain bit her lip until it bled to suppress a genuine smile.

February 9, 2023,  New York
Feyre was studying when she received Rhysand's first message. She almost jumped on the bed as she saw his contact, saved two days earlier during one of Tamlin’s best concerts. After a short round of courtesies, they ended up talking about their day, and Feyre started to feel grateful he’d kept her waiting, primarily because she really needed something to cheer her up, and secondly because she’d spent the whole Wednesday with her boyfriend, who did nothing but apologize for leaving her alone and delaying the start of his set. He’d been convincing enough, both in words and deeds, and Feyre forgot she was pissed until Ianthe knocked at the door and Tamlin let her in even though she was still nearly naked. She’d slipped out of the apartment with a strange feeling, as if she was the other woman who’d just been unmasked by an overly sympathetic wife, and although she had only one lesson on Thursday morning, she forced herself to attend and put aside her annoyance at her boyfriend’s attitude, but halfway through it she started to resent Rhysand’s silence even more.
“No puedo creer que una estudiante de arte pueda tener problemas para hablar español,” he said, as soon as she picked up his call.
“I’ve never been much into languages,” Feyre admitted, sinking back into the soft pillows she arranged around her. “I’m more of a crafter.”
“And a lucky one, for my mother was Mexican and I grew up speaking Spanish with her just to annoy my father,” he said, and for some reason, Feyre pictured him leaning out of a window looking onto the traffic, a gorgeous, melancholic face fighting against the grey of New York City.
“So, I owe four apologies not only to an art critic but also to an expert linguist?” Feyre asked, curling a strand of hair around the pencil she was using to take notes. They talked for an hour, of everything and nothing, of their dreams and their passions, and in the end, they decided to meet the following day for their first platonic date.
“I would’ve never accepted to study with someone who wanted to hit on me, it sounds so unprofessional,” she teased, once they reached the café they chose as the venue for their first intensive review.
“Thank goodness it’s not my intent, then,” he retorted, and if it had been anyone else, Feyre would’ve been offended, but Rhysand opened the door for her with a warm smile, offering half a bow when she passed him faking a grudge. It was nearly lunchtime when he realized she’d spent more time sketching his features in the corners of her textbooks than listening to him, and as he returned to the table with a stuffed bagel and a glass of orange juice, he reproached her in Spanish, saying something about his loss of credibility as a teacher if she failed the exam.
“Because God forbid you lose your position of power, right?” she asked, biting into his lunch before the dressing could fall on her notebook, her eyes stubbornly fixed on his. Somehow, the scene was overly suggestive, and Rhysand watched her a little longer than he would’ve done if he really wasn’t interested, a feral shadow deepening his blue irises as she retreated slowly, licking the mayonnaise on her lower lip. She knew it wasn’t right to flirt with him, let alone imply there might be something more when she was definitely committed to Tamlin, yet there was something about him that made her act against all logic and reason, the same something that led her to be fed from his hands as they continued to analyse grammar and syntax rules.
“If you pass this exam, I promise to surprise you with something worth the effort,” he said as they reached the door of her apartment.
“I won’t know the results at least for three weeks, don’t you think this gives you a little too much advantage?” she asked, wondering if it was normal to spend so long on the stairs without inviting her interlocutor in, and if only thinking about it made her the shittiest girlfriend ever. She didn't want to do anything sexual, nor did she intend to kiss him or exchange effusions, she just wanted to spend more time with him, with someone who would see her and say nothing if she left the house with her hair in a messy bun, was it that wrong?
“I’ll think of something to do in the meantime too,” he assured her, and before Feyre could move, or begin to feel truly uncomfortable, Rhysand took her hand and kissed her fingers, like a medieval knight greeting a lady before departing for war.
“Until we meet again, my damsel in distress,” he murmured, and in a blink, like he was made of shadows and darkness, he disappeared from her sight, the feeling of his lips still lingering on her skin.

Hello, I wanted to know how New Chara Haven works, I couldn't fully understand how it works, why I went to see how the old one was and how it worked, seeing the old posts and using the Wayback Machine to be able to see others that I can't see like the faq and the list of who was part of it, if you can answer me that in advance I thank you and apologize for the huge text.
Greetings, This is an interesting question because of the nature of how New Chara Haven came to be. The original intention for my Comic was to have that scene take place in the original Chara Haven, however, midway though creating that Chapter, the Original Chara Haven got taken down. By the old creators words, they destroyed it, and requested that if anyone were to remake Chara Haven that they would give it a new name like Chara Haven 2.0 or something. So, I kinda winged it, and integrated New Chara Haven into the story. I never intended to be the creator, it just kinda happened that way due to the circumstances of the situation I was in. That being said, the Rules for New Chara Haven are pretty Simple. 1. The Place is run by Core!Chara; they govern the place to make sure everyone stays safe. 2. The Place is hidden from the Multiverse, making it a save haven from interdimensional travels who like to visit other worlds just to mess it up. 3. Only Chara's are allowed in. 4. With a few exceptions, The Chara's who are invited/residing there have either been rejected from their world (AU), they've abandoned their world, or their world has been destroyed and they're a survivor of said destruction. 5. Level of Violence and Damage is suppressed, so even the Strong/Dangerous Chara's wont hurt anyone. 6. For strong Chara's who can't control their power, they can't interact with "regular" Chara's until they can control themselves. 7. Core!Chara's power of suggestion is strong on other Chara's, it's difficult for other Chara's to say "no" to Core, but not impossible. As for my Story. Error Chara is still struggling to control their power output. On top of that, Error Chara has a habit of saving area local's for quick travel. The problem with that is, if a being who can read and write code gets a hold of that information, they could theoretically open a portal to New Chara Haven, even if it's unlikely. This is why Error Chara had to be kicked out. They made a deal with Error Sans, and Error Sans knows how to read and write code. And while Reaper has a point that fighting an Army of Chara's is essentially a one way ticket to the shadow real, there are other beings in the multiverse who thrive on fighting challenges like that. So as a safety precaution, it had to be done.
My original intent was just to showcase and cameo a bunch of Chara's that helped hook my interest into the Undertale Fandom. I didn't actually plan for it to become a thing. So if want use my version, go a head, I just ask you respect the rules and other creators Chara's. If you have any other questions, I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability. I'll probably have to make new rules as they become relevant.
Anyway
Have Fun~

The Remote - Containers extension lets you use a Docker container as a full-featured development environment. Whether you deploy to containers or not, containers make a great development environment because you can:
Develop with a consistent, easily reproducible toolchain on the same operating system you deploy to.
Quickly swap between different, isolated development environments and safely make updates without worrying about impacting your local machine.
Make it easy for new team members / contributors to get up and running in a consistent development environment.
Try out new technologies or clone a copy of a code base without impacting your local setup.

The extension starts (or attaches to) a development container running a well defined tool and runtime stack. Workspace files can be mounted into the container from the local file system, or copied or cloned into it once the container is running. Extensions are installed and run inside the container where they have full access to the tools, platform, and file system.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Red Hat provide a complete, enterprise-class computing environment. Red Hat solutions on AWS give customers the ability to run enterprise traditional on-premises applications, such as SAP, Oracle databases, and custom applications in the cloud.
Windows 10 Home (2004+) requires Docker Desktop 2.2+ and the WSL2 back-end. (Docker Toolbox is not supported.) macOS: Docker Desktop 2.0+. Linux: Docker CE/EE 18.06+ and Docker Compose 1.21+. (The Ubuntu snap package is not supported.) Containers: x8664 / ARMv7l (AArch32) / ARMv8l (AArch64) Debian 9+, Ubuntu 16.04+, CentOS / RHEL 7+ x8664.
Docker volumes allow you to back up, restore, and migrate data easily. This tutorial explains what a Docker volume is and how to use it, as well as how to mount a volume in Docker.

You then work with VS Code as if everything were running locally on your machine, except now they are isolated inside a container.
System Requirements
Local:
Windows:Docker Desktop 2.0+ on Windows 10 Pro/Enterprise. Windows 10 Home (2004+) requires Docker Desktop 2.2+ and the WSL2 back-end. (Docker Toolbox is not supported.)
macOS: Docker Desktop 2.0+.
Linux: Docker CE/EE 18.06+ and Docker Compose 1.21+. (The Ubuntu snap package is not supported.)
Containers:
x86_64 / ARMv7l (AArch32) / ARMv8l (AArch64) Debian 9+, Ubuntu 16.04+, CentOS / RHEL 7+
x86_64 Alpine Linux 3.9+
Other glibc based Linux containers may work if they have needed prerequisites.
While ARMv7l (AArch32), ARMv8l (AArch64), and musl based Alpine Linux support is available, some extensions installed on these devices may not work due to the use of glibc or x86 compiled native code in the extension. See the Remote Development with Linux article for details.
Note that while the Docker CLI is required, the Docker daemon/service does not need to be running locally if you are using a remote Docker host.

Working with Git? Here are two tips to consider:
If you are working with the same repository folder in a container and Windows, be sure to set up consistent line endings. See tips and tricks to learn how.
If you clone using a Git credential manager, your container should already have access to your credentials! If you use SSH keys, you can also opt-in to sharing them. See Sharing Git credentials with your container for details.
Getting started
Follow the step-by-step tutorial or if you are comfortable with Docker, follow these four steps:
Follow the installation steps above.
Clone https://github.com/Microsoft/vscode-remote-try-node locally.
Start VS Code
Run the Remote-Containers: Open Folder in Container... command and select the local folder.
Check out the repository README for things to try. Next, learn how you can:
Use a container as your full-time environment - Open an existing folder in a container for use as your full-time development environment in few easy steps. Works with both container and non-container deployed projects.
Attach to a running container - Attach to a running container for quick edits, debugging, and triaging.
Advanced: Use a remote Docker host - Once you know the basics, learn how to use a remote Docker host if needed.
Available commands
Another way to learn what you can do with the extension is to browse the commands it provides. Press F1 to bring up the Command Palette and type in Remote-Containers for a full list of commands.

What is Empowerment Technologies?
This blog, Empowerment Technologies, is an insight into what I have learned on our lessons about Empowerment Technologies: ICT for Professional Tracks, for 11th grade, under the teaching of Miss Shaira Denise Dela Cruz. The goal of this blog is to promote ICT and give you some insight into ICT
Tumblr media
The first lesson that was discussed was, what is ICT? ICT is the abbreviation for Information and Communication Technologies. It refers to technologies that provide access to information through telecommunications such as mobile phones, wireless networks, telephones, and other communication mediums. The current state of ICT is WWW or World Wide Web.
The World Wide Web(WWW), commonly known as the Web, is an information system where documents and other web resources are identified by Uniform Resource Locators, which may be interlinked by hypertext, and are accessible over the Internet. It has three versions which are Web 1.0, Web 2.0, and Web 3.0. Web 1.0 is the first version and most web pages were static or “read-only web.”
The second and most used is Web 2.0, which allows users to interact and contribute with the page instead of just reading a page, the users are able to create a user account. Web 2.0 offers us five features: Folksonomy, Rich User Experience, Long Tail, User Participation, and software as a service.
The last is Web 3.0. Its aim is to have machines understand the user’s preference to be able to deliver web content specifically targeting the user. Web 3.0 hasn’t released yet as it still has some problems. Those problems are compatibility, security, vastness, vagueness, and logic.
Tumblr media
Moving on to the next lesson which is all about ‘Online Saftey, security, ethics, and etiquette.’
The Internet consists of tens of thousands of interconnected networks run by service providers, individual companies, universities, and governments. It is defined as an information highway, which means anyone can access any information through the internet. That is why the internet is one of the most dangerous places, the reason why it is important how to keep yourself and your personal information safe. Some of the information that is in rick when spoiled on the internet are names of your immediate family, address, phone or home number, birthday, email address, your full name, and your previous and current school. It is important to keep this information top secret as cyber-creeps can use these to find you.
To keep yourself safe:
Be mindful of what you share online.
Do not just accept terms and conditions, read it.
Keep your passwords to yourself, and make sure your password is long, strong, and unique.
Do not talk or meet up with someone you don’t know.
Never post anything about a future vacation. This can signal some robbers about which date they can come and rob your house. It is better to post about your vacation when you got home already.
Add friends you know in real life, don’t accept someone you barely know or met.
Avoid visiting or downloading anything from an untrusted website, make sure to check the icon beside the search box. *picture* According to DigiCert Blog, “How to Know if a Website is Secure?”, Look at the URL of the website. If it begins with “https” instead of “http” it means the site is secured using an SSL certificate (the s stands for secure). SSL certificates secure all of your data as it is passed from your browser to the website’s server.
Make your home wifi private by adding a password.
Make sure to install and update antivirus software on your computer.
Do not reply or check links from suspicious emails as it can lead you to an untrusted site and can hack your laptop or social media.
Tumblr media
To give you more information, here are some of the internet threats that we need to be aware of and try to avoid:
The Malware, stands for malicious software. It includes virus, worm, trojan, spyware, adware, and ransomware. The virus is the most common malware. It is a malicious program designed to replicate itself and transfer from one computer to another (internet, local networks, FDs, CDs,etc.). Worms is a standalone piece of malicious software that reproduces itself and spreads from computer to computer. The trojan is a malicious program that disguises as a useful program but once downloaded or installed, leaves your PC unprotected and allows hackers to get your information. Spyware is defined by Webroot Cybersecurity as "malware used for the purpose of secretly gathering data on an unsuspecting user." It is a program that runs in the background and spies your behavior as you are on your computer. Adware is malware that forces your browser to redirect to web advertisements, which often themselves seek to download further, even more, malicious software. Lastly, Ransomware, also known as scareware. This is a type of malicious software from cryptovirology that threatens to publish the victim’s data or perpetually block access to it unless a ransom is paid.
The Spam, this is any kind of unwanted, unsolicited digital communication, often an email, that gets sent out in bulk.
The Phishing, is a cybercrime in which a target/s are contacted by someone posing as a legitimate institution to lure individuals into providing sensitive data such as personally identifiable information, banking and credit card details, and passwords.
Tumblr media
Lastly, before we move to the next lesson it is important to know ‘The Core Rules of Netiquette’ are excerpted from the book Netiquette by Virginia Shea.
First, Remember the Human. When communicating online, practice the Golden rule:  Do unto others as you would have others do unto you. Remember that your written works or messages are read by real people, therefore you should ask yourself, "Would I be okay with this if someone else had written it?" before sending it.
Second, Adhere to the same standards of behavior online that you follow in real life. It is a must that your best to act within the laws and ethical manners of society whenever you inhabit "cyberspace." Standards of behavior may be different in some areas of cyberspace, but they are not lower than in real life. Be ethical. Don't believe anyone who says, "The only ethics out there are what you can get away with."
Third, Know where you are in cyberspace. What's perfectly acceptable in one area may be dreadfully rude in another. And because Netiquette is different in different places, it's important to know where you are. Thus the next corollary: Lurk before you leap.
Fourth, Respect other people’s time and bandwidth. Online communication takes time: time to read and time in which to respond. Most people today lead busy lives, just like you do, and don't have time to read or respond to frivolous emails or discussion posts. It's your responsibility to ensure that the time they spend reading your posting isn't wasted.
Fifth, Make yourself look good online. One of the best things about the virtual world is the lack of judgment associated with your physical appearance, the sound of your voice, or the clothes you wear. However, you will be judged by the quality of your writing so keep in mind the following tips: (1)Always check for spelling and grammar errors, (2)  Know what you're talking about and state it clearly
Sixth, Share expert knowledge. The reason for asking questions online works is that a lot of knowledgeable people are reading the questions. And if even a few of them offer intelligent answers, the sum total of world knowledge increases. The Internet itself was founded and grew because scientists wanted to share information. Gradually, the rest of us got in on the act. So do your part. Despite the long lists of no-no's in this book, you do have something to offer. Don't be afraid to share what you know.
Seventh, Help keep flame wars under control. "Flaming" is what people do when they express a strongly held opinion without holding back any emotion.g. While "flaming" is not necessarily forbidden in virtual communication, "flame wars," when two or three people exchange angry posts between one another, must be controlled or the camaraderie of the group could be compromised. Don't feed the flames; extinguish them by guiding the discussion back to a more productive direction.
Eighth, Respect other people’s privacy. Depending on what you are reading in the virtual world, be it an online class discussion forum, Facebook page, or an email, you may be exposed to some private or personal information that needs to be handled with care. Thus, Just as you expect others to respect your privacy, so should you respect the privacy of others. Be sure to err on the side of caution when deciding to discuss or not to discuss virtual communication.
Ninth, Don’t abuse your power. Some people in cyberspace have more power than others. There are wizards in MUDs (multi-user dungeons), experts in every office, and system administrators in every system. Knowing more than others, or having more power than they do, does not give you the right to take advantage of them. For example, sysadmins should never read private emails.
Tenth, Be forgiving of other people’s mistakes. Everyone was a network newbie once. So when someone makes a mistake, whether it's a spelling error or a spelling flame, a stupid question or an unnecessarily long answer, be kind about it. If you do decide to inform someone of a mistake, point it out politely, and preferably by private email rather than in public. Give people the benefit of the doubt; assume they just don't know any better.
Tumblr media
The last lesson that was taught to us is ‘Advanced Word Processing Skill’. This lesson focuses on the software word processor the ‘Microsoft Word.’
A Word Processor is an electronic device or computer software application that performs the task of composing, editing, formatting,  and printing of documents.
Microsoft Word is a word processor developed by  Microsoft and the first released on  October 25, 1983. Microsoft Word has features and functions which are not mostly known by others. These are the Auto-Correct, Grammar Checker, Read Aloud, Template, Thesaurus, Mail Merge, and Text Wrap.
Advance Features of Microsoft Word are discussed. Beginning with the kinds of Materials we can have in Microsoft Word.
The first is Pictures. Generally, these are electronic or digital pictures or photographs you have saved on any local storage device. There are three file formats that pictures have which are JPEG or Joint Photographic Expert Group, this can support 16.7 million colors so that it is suitable for use when working with full-color photographic images, GIF or Graphics Interchange Format, this is used for computer-generated images that support animation,  can only support up to 256 colors., lastly, PNG or Portable Network Graphics, this is similar to GIF except it has smaller file size but does not support animation, it can display up to 16 million colors and allows the control of the transparency level or opacity of images.
The second material is Clip Art. This is generally a GIF type; line art drawings or images used as a generic representation for ideas and objects that you might want to integrate into your document.
The third is Shapes. These are printable objects or materials that you can integrate in your document to enhance its appearance or to allow you to have some tools to use for composing and representing ideas or messages. The fourth is Smart Art. Generally, these are predefined sets of different shapes grouped together to form ideas that are organizational or structural in nature.
The fifth is Chart. Another type of material that you can integrate into your Word document that allows you to represent data characteristics and trends.
The sixth is Screenshot. Sometimes, creating reports or manuals for training or  procedure will require the integration of a more realistic image of  what you are discussing on your report or manual.
Moving on to the most focused part of the lesson which is the Mail Merge. Mail Merge is a useful tool that allows you to produce multiple letters, labels, envelopes, name tags, and more using information stored in a list, database, or spreadsheet. When these two documents are combined  (merged), each document includes the individual names and addresses you need to send it to. The two components of Mail Merge are the Form Document, this contains the main body of the message we want to convey or send., and the List or Data File, This is where the individual information or data that needs to be plugged in (merged) to our form document is placed and maintained.
It was demonstrated to us, how to use and make mail merge, and here’s mine:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before ending this blog, I would like to show you some of my modules for the subject Empowerment Technologies(ETech): ICT for Professional Track.
First, the open forum about the “How can you promote Netiquette?”
Tumblr media
Second, an assignment about “Cyberspace:  Share an experience that you have always tend to do but later did you discover that it is not a standard of ONLINE SAFETY, SECURITY, ETHICS, AND ETIQUETTE. “
Tumblr media
Third, another open forum about “What is the importance of Microsoft office in your education?”
Tumblr media
Lastly is another assignment, making an Infographic: Promoting your specific track/strand. My infographic is a promotion of my strand, STEM or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Tumblr media
Hope you learn a lot from this blog as I learn a lot from my subject teacher for  Empowerment Technologies(ETech): ICT for Professional Track.

What can you do with ADB Android? The most simple file sharing process by using USB ADB Driver Installer
The Android Debug Bridge is a versatile command-line tool that communicates and controls, copies, installs, uninstalls and shells apps, and other things, such as a tablet, smart clock and set-top box for smart devices (even a computer emulator via a USB link) or any device that runs your Android OS. With Android SDK and code, it has additional useful tools. The binary contains specific commands and some of them work on their own. ADB Driver is a server-client program with three parts:
A client sending commands. The client runs for development on your machine. You can call a client from a terminal on a command line by sending an adb command.
A daemon (adbd) running commands on a device. The daemon is running in the background on each device.
A server manages the communication between client and daemon. On your development machine the server runs as a background.
Tumblr media
What can you do with ADB Android?
Create a Full Backup of Your Phone
The Android recovery mode helps you to reset and backup your phone. These backups can only be saved on phone or SD card. You can create the complete backup on your computer with the help of ADB.
Backup a Specific App and Its Data
ADB can also help you to back up just a specific app and its data. This can be useful when you want to play your previously saved gameplay on a different phone. It also saves the cache of the app for applications such as YouTube, which cache offline videos.
Install Multiple Apps
You can easily batch install multiple apps (apk files) in a folder on your phone with ADB. One thing to be aware is that no prompt screen is available on your phone. Please be careful with the apps that you are installing. Make sure they don’t contain malware (or a malware app).
Extract APK from Your Phone
For some reason, ADB can easily extract the apk from an app from your phone.
Record Screen
A lot of apps are available on the Play Store for this, but it is always cool to do it with ADB. This also saves your phone storage space, as you don't need to install another app for the task.
Change DPI of the Screen
DPI (Dots per Inch) is a value used by Android to determine the perfect image and app icon size to display on the screen. You can change this value to get a bigger, zoom-in or smaller display depending on your needs.
Connect ADB Over WiFi
Why not connect to Adb wirelessly in today's world?, where all goes wireless. It’s quite easy to make this happen. In order to allow your phone, however, you first need to connect it via USB. Turn on the WiFi on your phone and computer and make sure your phone and computer are both on the same WiFi network.
Get System Stats and Info
There is a shell command which developers use  to check the system behavior when their app is running. You could use this command to learn more about the system of the phone and to check your knowledge for different other hardware information.
Features of Universal  ADB Driver for Android
Quick Installer - You can install Google ADB Driver in a matter of seconds. Just connect to ADB Driver Setup and follow the instructions on your computer.
Supports Every Device - Every device is supported with ADB Driver, whether from major brands such as Samsung, HTC, Sony, Nokia, Huawei, Vivo , Oppo, Xiaomi or any other minor brands such as Amazon. The driver is installed and the chipset is automatically detected.
Detects Manufacture Name and Model - Automatically identifies and displays the name of the manufacturer and the model number in the list of manufacturers and descriptions.
Refresh Button - You can quickly update the device list attached to your computer. This feature is in version 2.0 and is not in version 1.0.
Supports Windows x86 and x64 Bit - It detects your computer's BIT automatically and lets you easily install ADB Driver on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 easily.
Tumblr media
How does ADB Installer work on Android?
Since ADB contains three components (client, daemon and server), it first needs to install and execute certain parts. So you'll have to execute this before you connect to Android if you boot your computer fresh (and don't boot it for the daemon). This message is displayed in the command prompt when the daemon is checked.
If the daemon does not work, the process will start and tell you about the TCP port that is running locally. The commands sent to ADB clients will continue to be listened to for this specific port following the initiation of the ADB service. It then connects all operational devices (including emulators) that are attached to the computer. At this time, if your computer was not allowed, you receive a request for permission in your Android device.
Interesting Facts about ADB installer Android
ADB allows you to do things not suitable for everyday use but very useful for Android users or developers. You can, for example install applications outside the Play Store, debug apps, access hidden capabilities and create a shell that allows you to directly control your device. For security reasons, developer choices should be disabled and USB debugging mode should be enabled.
All versions of Windows between Windows XP and Windows 10 are compatible with ADB Driver Installer. However, in several other versions they can be found. Examples are a Sony Smartwatch 3 bundle and a mobile Nokia X or Android system bundle. Please note that most of these packages need prior user technical know-how.

Cypress vs Selenium
Cypress vs Selenium
From the vast list of automation testing tools available in the market, we will contend the two most promising tools that are contemplated as game-changers.
So here’s the million-dollar question: Whether Cypress is better than or a substitute for the most preferred web automation tool – Selenium?
This article will do an in-depth comparison to show how both tools serve the purpose of automation testing and which tool has the upper hand in different circumstances.
Let’s look at a few points that will help you make the call:
In a Nutshell
Cypress (latest release 4.11.0) is a next-generation front-end testing tool built for the web. It is a JavaScript-based end-to-end testing framework built on top of Mocha and Chai.
Selenium (latest release 4.0.0 Alpha 5) is an open-source tool used for automating the tests on web browsers. The Selenium WebDriver drives a browser natively; either locally or on remote machines and it is used for UI automation testing. Similarly, all the other components have a specific role to perform in terms of making the product more reliable and robust.
How it Works
Cypress executes in the same run loop as application. Behind Cypress is a Node.js server process. Cypress and the Node.js process constantly communicate, synchronize, and perform tasks for each other. Cypress also operates at the network layer by reading and altering web traffic during processing. This enables Cypress to not only modify everything that emerges from the browser but also to change code that may interfere with its ability to automate the browser.
In Selenium, once we run the automation script in Selenium then the Selenium client library will communicate with Selenium API that will send the command taken from language level binding to browser driver with the help of JSON wire protocol. The browser driver will use the HTTP server for getting the HTTP request and the HTTP Server filter out all the commands that require execution. After that, the commands in your Selenium script executes on the browser and HTTP server sends the response back to the automation test script.
Based on their internal working architecture, we can say that Selenium executes remote commands through the network whereas Cypress runs in the same run-loop as your application.
Installation
In Cypress there’s no configuration, just need to install the .exe and all the drivers and dependencies get automatically installed and configured. This allows automation to be set up to get running in minutes. One of the design principles of Cypress was to be able to package and bundle everything together to make the entire end-to-end testing experience pleasant and simple for developers.
To use Selenium in your automation project you need to install the language binding’s libraries for your language of choice. Besides, you will need WebDriver binaries for the browsers you want to automate and run tests on.
So if we take installation time and complexity into consideration then Cypress has the upper hand as compared to Selenium.
Languages Supported
Cypress only supports JavaScript. No other languages support provided, which sometimes forces the user to learn a particular scripting language.
On the other hand, Selenium supports wide range language: Java, C#, Python, Ruby, R, Dart, Objective-C, Haskell, PHP, and JavaScript.
Due to the support of many languages, Selenium comes handy and gives users the privilege to decide the language they want to use to develop an automation framework.
Cross-browser Support
Cypress supports Canary, Chrome, Chromium, Edge, Edge Beta, Edge Canary, Edge Dev, Electron, Firefox (Beta support), Firefox Developer Edition (Beta support), Firefox Nightly (Beta support).
Selenium supports almost all major browsers in the market, which is an added advantage for Selenium. Below is the list of supported browsers: Chrome(All versions), Firefox(54 and newer), Internet Explorer(6 and newer), Opera(10.5 and newer), Safari(10 and newer)
Selenium has better cross-browser support as compared to Cypress because Selenium gives support to almost all available browsers available in the market whereas Cypress you can’t test on Safari.
Parallel Execution of Test Automation Suite
Cypress falls behind when compared to Selenium in parallel testing.
Selenium has many options to perform parallel execution which is quite important for automation testing. Selenium component Grid is used widely for parallel execution in the QA community with TestNG. And it can be easily integrated with Docker containerization.
Performance
Cypress doesn’t have as many layers of architecture as Selenium. It operates on the same process in the browser. That is why we see a remarkable improvement in the pace of test execution compared to Selenium.
Selenium is relatively slow compared to Cypress as it has several layers of code running between the test and the browser.
Integration of Automation with CI/CD
Cypress: Possible but with restrictions. Only one option is available and that is by using the command line and the npm library – Mocha. The CI service has to support npm and test recording on the CI server is a paid option for most of the recordings.
Selenium: Possible to perform integration of CI/CD. We can use any testing library, test reports, and execution patterns and can easily adjust it to the needs.
Licensing
Cypress is also released as open-source under the MIT license. But if we compare it to Selenium then all the features provided by Cypress are not free, e.g. the dashboard in Cypress is free for Seed but paid for Sprout, Tree, and Forest. ( https://www.cypress.io/pricing)
Selenium is licensed under the Apache 2.0 license, with the Software Freedom Conservancy as the copyright holder
OS Support
Cypress: Windows, Mac, Linux
Selenium: Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, iOS
BDD and DataDrivenTesting SupportSelenium supports BDD and data-driven by using external libraries, but as of now which is quite not possible to do in Cypress.Locators for Object Identification
Cypress supports only CSS and Xpath.
Support all types of locators for a normal web application like ID, Name, XPath, CSS selectors, link text, partial link text, etc.
Execution Report
Selenium: Allure, Extent, and all other dashboards can be integrated into automation suites.
Cypress: Only Cypress Native Dashboard.
The Verdict
Selenium targets more towards the test automation engineer while Cypress is more developer-centric and aims to improve TDD development.
Selenium was developed in 2004 so it has better community support then Cypress which was developed in 2015 and still in the growing phase. In-fact when we work with the browser using Selenium it is possible to manipulate many options like Cookie, Local Storage, Screen, Sizes, Extensions, Command-line options but Cypress can only help to manipulate Network options.
However, some of the selling points, which Cypress claims, are:
It can take snapshots of the application when the tests are running. Then as a test developer, we can hover over each command in the Test Runner panel to see what happened at each step.
With Cypress, there is no need to put explicit waits or sleeps to your tests. It automatically waits for commands and assertions before proceeding.
Similar to unit test cases, you can verify and control the behavior of functions, server responses, or timers at run time using the spies and stubs provided by Cypress. Using Cypress, you can stub network traffic as you like and customize the response of your API calls as per your need.
Hope the above points will help to decide which tool to use for automation testing and on that note keep exploring.

Why I loved My Time At Portia
My Time At Portia is a vibrant life simulator in a huge fairytale city, developed by the Chinese studio Pathea Games and released on PC in 2019. Most recently, the final version of the game 2.0 was released, which, among other things, acquired official localizations, which was not at the start. Also in this version, optimization has significantly improved compared to what was in Early Access. In general, updates for Time At Portia are released quite regularly (several times a month), and you can track them and all the changes they brought in a special main menu journal. I want to start right away with the obvious and main advantage of this new game - its amazing cartoony three-dimensional graphics and relaxing music, which together create a fabulous atmosphere in the spirit of old animes. The world here is not very large, but open to exploration, presented by the funny island city of Portia.
Tumblr media
Game plot
The plot of the game begins with the main character staying on the island on a small boat of the midshipman named Uwe. Once on land, a guy (or girl, depending on the player’s choice) begins to get acquainted with the local people. And Presley, the representative of the local branch of the Trade Guild, is the first to pay his respects to the dear guest. He introduces the hero to the course of events around the events and reports that his father left him his own workshop along with an explanatory letter, and he disappeared without a trace. After this, Presley kindly guides the hero to his apartments, which are part-time of this same workshop, which is not in very good condition. From this moment, the hero is left to his own devices, having only a basic, very generalized goal - to bring his new economy out of deep desolation and begin to carry out craft orders from the administration and residents of the city. But this, of course, is not the only entertainment available here, which number in the tens! But more about them later.
Character editor
Before embarking on an exciting journey called My Time At Portia, the player ends up in the character editor. There are not many settings here, but betraying a certain personality to your virtual alter ego with their help is quite possible. The editor allows you to select the gender of the character, his voice, customize facial features and hairstyle, as well as give him a name. As you can see, the set of features is quite modest, but given that this is not an online game, it does not cause any particular complaints.
Tumblr media
You can also choose your birthday here and this is not an empty formality. The fact is that a dynamic change of time is implemented here and a real seasonal calendar is present: the time of day changes, the seasons spring, summer and so on change. And on the calendar are marked all sorts of important events and holidays, including the birthdays of city residents who congratulate each other and give gifts.
RPG Elements
They are expressed in the following features:
the presence of equipment with unlockable slots for coins;
the hero’s presence of parameters changed by the equipment (health, energy, stamina, defense, critical strike chance, and so on);
active pumped skills, divided into 3 categories: combat, craft-mining and communicative;
game currency;
workshop rating;
the scale of relations with each of the inhabitants of Portia.
Friendly and intuitive user menu
For ease of navigation in the open world, there is a global map, a list of familiar characters with the most important information about them, and even a special notebook that acts as a training manual on the game and allows you to create all kinds of production machines and machines. There is also a full calendar with notes and reminders, and a window with character settings.
Tumblr media
Other nice features of this great role-playing game
Craft. As already mentioned, a huge number of different machines are available here, on which you can create all sorts of useful and beautiful things.
Looted items. To do something, you first need to develop the necessary material and details, and this process is implemented very interesting.
Funny characters with whom you can interact in different ways: talk, play in the KNB, give gifts, sparing and so on.
Dungeons in which you can collect parts of relics and other rare and valuable objects.
The ability to fish.
Interesting holiday events tied to a calendar.
The opportunity to furnish and decorate your workshop (it’s also your own home), as well as improve it and the entire garden with all the buildings and machines.
Presence of mounts.
You can grow crops and breed animals.
Cooking!
Conclusion
One of the best games in 2019 in the genre of life simulator, very similar to the legendary two-dimensional project Stardew Valley, but with its lore, attractive three-dimensional graphics and unique fairy-tale aesthetics.

How Does Digital Platforms Changed Societal Life?
Through the analysis of these three experiments it is possible to understand how in contemporary times the impact and changes of new digital technologies affect social relationship, communication and culture, and labor condition. Moreover, the substitution of old technology with new one in each experiment led us understand the disruptive capacities of digital technologies. In the first experiment that I have made with two memes I have tried to compare new technologies with old ones. Clearly, new technology has pushed aside old technology; in fact, nowadays no one will rent a DVD from Blockbuster because we have the comfort to see whatever we want to see from our couch at home. According to Joshua M. Greenberg, an American academic working in sociology of scientific knowledge, “It’s likely that you don’t go to that store today, if it’s even still in business. You might rent movies from a massive franchise store, or you might get them by mail, fresh off your online queue; either way, you’re probably renting DVDs, not videocassettes, and the guy behind the counter has been replaced by data-aggregating recommendation algorithms.” This change is related to the invention of the home video industry because movie studios and electronics manufactures realized that with video, they were making more money compared to theatrical exhibition. For example, Sony was one of the first companies that permitted at least to be free from the fixed program schedules set by the television executives.
Evidently, the substitution of old technology with new one is not an unexpected change because through time we have made enormous improvements and technology is at the bottom of our daily life. Today the existence of Blockbuster store is limited to one (in Oregon) compared to the 4800 stores of the past. When in 2000 a company proposed to the Blockbuster CEO to buy a new streaming system he refused, that streaming system it’s now called Netflix. During these twenty years the idea of going out to rent a DVD or video cassettes is unthinkable for the new generations, with this improvement of technology we lost the pleasure of simple things. Unfortunately, innovation does not wait for you! And if you do not understand it, you are left behind. Consequently, Innovation is also largely about growth, recognizing new opportunities and changing what the company offers to the market. If it does not change the way it creates and delivers its offerings, it can be in trouble. And just like that, Blockbuster collapsed. Moreover, when we used to go to Blockbuster, we were more conscious about want genre of film we wanted to see and in case of indecision there were the Blockbuster costumers ready to help us finding the right DVD to see. Now, having so many choices for no reason we are even more confused, and we might spend the whole night searching for the right one and then ending up without choosing anything. The reason why a niche start-up company was able to drive the industry giant Blockbuster out of the market is its adaptability, embracement of new distribution models and obsession with smart technology. In conclusion, in the early 2000s Netflix was just a start-up company trying to compete against the absolute industry leader Blockbuster. Failure to innovate and reluctance to disrupt its own business model in order to adjust to the new market conditions and opportunities drove Blockbuster out of the market as the company shut down in 2010. Netflix is believed to have used the concept of disruptive innovation to over perform this competitor.
In the second experiment I have taken Uber as example to explain how new digital disruption technologies revolutionized and will gradually completely change the relations between workers and employers. In the reading “Towards a Fairer Gig Economy” written by Mark Graham, a professor of Internet Geography at the Oxford Internet Institute states: “While the gig economy offers jobs and income to many in need, it also represents a system with the capacity to exploit and alienate workers in new and innovative ways.”  Consequently, we do not have control on these new internet technologies and without even being aware that they are slowly changing our societies, workplaces, and relationships. Moreover, these new jobs, such as Uber drivers or Deliveroo workers, don’t even work in a comfortable condition and the only people who really take advantage on them are the owners of these huge digital platforms. For example, in the video that we watched in class called “Uber: the real lives of its drivers” are some Uber’s drivers who described what really means working for this kind of service. They affirmed that sometimes they could work even seven days a week and the money that they get in is below the minimum wage. Often drivers wait for hours outside their cars because if they stand outside the app works if they are seated in their cars Uber blocks it, so Uber can control exactly where they stand and they always ending up waiting without knowing how much time will past between one ride and another. In addition, even though uber workers are considered self-employed, they do not have the freedom of self-employed people because all is regulated by the app. At the moment data is stored in databases or at digital level therefore companies do not need employees anymore to know their clients and personalize the offer. The firm uses its employees only as couriers and they will be probably substituted when robots are going to be safe to use. As a result, the worker alone (rather than their employer or the platform) bears a huge amount of risk.” (Graham) Then, being a self-employed does not mean that the worker is more independent, it simply means that gig economy platforms are abusing of basic human rights. Next, in this system of gig work, the wealthy people get richer and others are left behind. All workers should have the same fundamental rights. In fact, Graham writes, “Unless governments step in and regulate the platform economy, the ‘future of work’ will be one of unprotected work and increasing inequality. We have the mechanisms to regulate the gig economy; all we need now is the willpower to do it.” To conclude, nowadays technology is capable of doing things in various sectors that before were unthinkable, such as in the health field, logistics or consumer goods, where robots and new technologies machines have led and are drastically increasing the reduction in the demand for labor. The only personas that will benefit from these new technologies are highly skilled workers with digital-technology skills; instead, low-skilled workers will find temporary and unstable jobs.
In the last experiment, I have chosen the platform Airbnb because is another clear example of how digital disruptive technology influence the way people live and how we are forced to change according to innovation. In fact, in the reading “The impact of Airbnb in our cities: Gentrification and ‘Disneyfication’ 2.0” written by Monica Bernardi she said that “short-term rents reinforce phenomena of social inequality and do not favor real redistribution of wealth”. For example, changing the way people move often influences the preference of the neighborhood to stay in: according to Airbnb, its visitors are inclined to choose the neighborhood that is less distracted by the tourist presence, thereby preferring a greater distribution of economic impacts for the benefit of communities that are usually removed from the tourist industry. According to researchers, “74% of Airbnb listings in major cities are located outside the traditional districts where hotels are located and 42% of guest-time is spent in the neighborhood where they are staying”. Consequently, the economic flows arising from the presence of these visitors thus have an impact on local economies and enterprises, benefiting the residents indirectly as well. Indeed, Airbnb believes that, in 52% of cases with low to medium incomes, it contributes to the well-being of its hosts, since the compensation earned through the platform allows additional savings and income to meet domestic expenses or to start new business entrepreneurship. Another negative aspect of these short-term rents like Airbnb is that massive tourist flows are at risk of transforming historic centers, particularly Italian ones, from key places of local and cultural and political life, into real cities of consumption. In fact, in the reading “Se il centro è vuoto”  Sarah Gainsforth interviewed Stefania Porcelli, the owner of Checco er Carrettiere, a famous restaurant close to Piazza Trillussa in Trastevere where she said that nowadays almost in every building, 8 apartments out of 10 are B&B and the neighborhood is getting depopulated. For this reason, in the center of Rome the number of tourists is higher than the number of residents. Every year at least 15 million of tourist visit Roma and their medium visits are 48/72 hours and they are concentrated near to the Vaticano, Campo de Fiori or Trastevere. According to the data collected by Inside of Airbnb, they have more than 25 thousand announcements in Rome. Half of the announcements are in the I Municipio and in 65% of the apartments, no one permanently lives. In fact, according to a research made by Filippo Celata, a researcher of La Sapienza, in the neighbored of city center, 19% of apartments are rents on Airbnb.
To conclude, the never-ending innovation of social media and digital media platforms in general will continue to shape not only our economy and labors, but also the way people interact to each other. As far as I am concerned, due to especially Airbnb platforms in my neighborhood, Trastevere, where I lived since, I was born there is no more the same atmosphere because as I showed in my last experiment many things are changing in particular in the last years.

magic submitter review
Magic Submitter is an all-in-one backlink building tool that was created to automate the vast majority of off-page SEO tasks many Online marketers usually do manually. On this review, let's take a closer inspection at precisely what Magic Submitter does, how user-friendly it is and whether it's worth an investment or not.
Keep reading for the details.
Magic Submitter Overview
Name: Magic Submitter
Creator: Alexandr Krulik
Medium: Backlink Building Software
Price: $67/month
Magic Submitter this is usually a desktop software that you simply download and run from your local machine (compatible with Windows only). Inside it's function, it's an "everything submitter" for the reason that it submits various forms of content like articles, videos, bookmarks etc. to a large range of websites. Magic Submitter can speak in confidence to 16 instances of Internet Explorer at the same time and simulate the assorted signup and submission actions for match sites within it's database.
Magic Submitter Link Targets
Here's a fast description of how many sites you can theoretically get backlinks from, using these programs:
50 Article Directories
156 Social Bookmarking Sites
31 Free Web 2.0 Blogs
16 RSS Directories
63 Video Sharing Sites
878 Expression Engine Profiles
18 Press Release Sites
255 WordPress Article Directories
80 Micro-Blogging Sites (basically twitter clones)
8 PDF Sharing Sites
Total link targets: 1555 (at the time of April 2011)
Understand that Magic Submitter also permits you to add your own copy lists of sites. If you have ScrapeBox and enough patience in organising and customizing profiles, there's almost no limit to how many sites MS can submit to.
Magic Submitter Video
Here'could be a video with an outline of just how Magic Submitter works along with what it's prefer to use this program:
Scheduler and Designer
While you saw in the film, Magic Submitter contains a scheduler that allow's you choose up a series of tasks in advance. The scheduler delivers very exact control the number of competitors the software program will work at what times which advantages and drawbacks alike. I personally found it "easier" to simply have the software program run in the biographical and manually select the next task, whenever a run is finished, instead of starting a schedule. A potentially much more powerful feature which happens to be the "Designer", which allows you to add your own websites to Magic Submitter. You can also add your personal article directory sites, bookmarking sites and so on to Magic Submitter, which indicates you can set up the code to build much more links for you. The designer is pretty intuitive to make use of and I can arrange some custom sites without consulting the manual. There's almost no limit to what you are able train Magic Submitter to share content to, except for the work involved with adding new sites and making sure the submission processes work.
Working With Magic Submitter
In practice, I found Magic Submitter it doesn't need to be mostly pleasant and intuitive. Initially, the user interface might seem a tiny bit overloaded with buttons and options and menus, but as you understand the simple principles of just how this tool functions, it becomes so simple to use. The hands-off factor is pretty decent as well. You can easily have MS running in the background while you are doing something else. At the least, so long as you don't run too many threads in parallel. You can get it do anything between 1 and 16 submissions during a period and if you choose to the maximum setting, you may experience some slow-down as MS eats at your system resources. I particularly like that Magic Submitter has a big variety of video sites it submits to, together with press-release sites and PDF sharing sites. Every auto-submitter submits to bookmarking sites and article directory sites, but press releases, videos and PDF docs are not such common targets. This will potentially provide you with a benefit over your competition.
Conclusion
Overall, Magic Submitter does what it's supposed to do and gets it quite well. I am currently engaged on testing all of the major automated link-building tools and before I'm finished with all of these, I won't write more in conclusion with this review. Magic Submitter works, however the question isn't "ist it helpful?", the question is "is it better then a competing products?". That's what I can help with with in upcoming roundup review. Until that moment, stay tuned! And if you want to try Magic Submitter yourself, you may click on the button below to find a trial for less than $5. magic submitter alternative
