A TS2 throwback and a local

This first lot is the last one up there where EA had their ginormous spa lot - and right across the street from the hospital. They used to give out 25% off coupons for your ER visit after dining here, but it's now under new management, so the coupons are no longer valid. Or needed.

When we originally did this project, I volunteered to recreate the Londoste Restaurant from TS2. Since I was doing it by memory - and a memory a tad foggy with copious glasses of wine - it's not exactly the same. But I figured over the years, it had changed hands numerous times and been renovated and then re-renovated. So, here it is:

When we did these lots, we did them without CC and limited use of store stuff. I know! Scary! But for my own use, I went back in and went CC crazy. It was zoned as an Exclusive Lounge - mostly because I wanted sims to have to actually dress up to eat there.

The main level is where the restaurant is located. I use ani's mod for all my restaurants - so those are her menus and stove. On the other side is the bar area where sims can relax as they wait for their table. Or they can order a nightcap there. I kind of went for the whole men's smoking-room vibe. Not sure I nailed it since I am neither a guy, nor do I smoke. But whatever.

Upstairs sims can either gamble or take to the dance floor. Besides the EA stuff, I gave them 2 poker tables to lose their simoleons at - thanks to the lovely @mspoodle1. I love her stuff.

Since I was up there in the mountains, I did another family house. I'm jumping back and forth between redoing community lots and homes - mostly because I hate CAS. Anyway, in the town history the current owner of this house inherited it from her late grandmother - along with some simoleons which she promptly squandered.

Since her bio says that she wasted all her grandmother's simoleons on partying, I figured she wouldn't have done any improvements to the actual property itself. Instead, she left it pretty much the way the dearly departed left it. I figured by the time the old lady croaked, she was half-blind from untreated cataracts and unable to do any repairs due to health issues - hence the reason it looks so shabby. But at least the roof doesn't leak!

And here's the young lady herself - Madeline Moore with the stray cat that had moved in right before the old lady checked out. His name is Jinx. (No reflection on him, but right after he moved in, granny moved on). Anyway, her bio says that she's trying to find work to help keep up appearances. But EA had her in the science field at level 5. So, I fixed that. In my game, any technical field that requires sims to be educated - like science and medicine - now require a Uni diploma. And this kid just got out of high school and went on a partying-simoloen spending spree. So, no time for Uni. No, she now works in the culinary field and has absolutely no skills. Plus, I stole all her money. Because I'm a nice simgoddess I am! If you're going to tell a story, EA, do it right!

This lot was created by Jenba as a replacement for the city hall. It's where EA had their art gallery. And in my town, I use it strictly as an art gallery. In my town history it's where the city fathers used to meet before the new city hall was built. I now holds treasures from the town's past - aka: looted artwork from other sim worlds.

Where I've placed this little newsstand, Jenba had stairs down to a basement that contained the EA city hall rabbithole. Since I use the rugs and didn't intend to use it for my political career, I eliminated the stairs and basement, then built this instead using Sandy's newsstand set over on Around the Sims 3. Now my sims can buy their comic books here. Behind it - obscured by that tree - is @mspoodle1's news van. I have another one over on my business lot.

In the back of the lot is a nice promenade - that I forgot to take pictures of, but I will later. Sims can look out over the lake, paint, listen to music and whatnot.

Downtown revamp: Oresha Family Dining Fuji Family Dining (daytime)

So I'm pretty sure the original concept, Oresha Family Dining, was supposed to be a Greek inspired restaurant due to all the blue and white decor and its name (Oresha is also the name of one of the Simgreek letter wall hangings that came with Uni). We already have one European style restaurant, though (Londoste), and my game needs cultural diversity in its restaurants too. Fuji family dining is loosely based off this local Japanese steakhouse that I really like! I used the BV food stall as a hibachi "grill", but when playing no one sits at them besides playables I direct to, I guess the restaurant podium is too attractive! Still, I kept them for aesthetic~

Tara deBateau found her a beau in Sinjin. He works in Simicon Valley and shares 3 bolts with Tara.

After dating a couple years in game, Tara invited Sinjin on a date to the fancy shmancy Londoste. The server was absolutely not interested in the "moment" Tara and Sinjin were having.

Clearly, the surprise proposal was a huge surprise to Sinjin who said HELL NO. Tara, I think, has had money for too long. She's clearly never been told no by anyone.

That doesn't stop them from trying for a baby in the photobooth. Jiminy Cricket, you two!

To top it all off, Sinjin is a huge jerk. Dumped her at the restaurant then has the nerve to light a bag of poop on fire at her doorstep!

Dina: Lobster?

Dirk: Yep.

Dina: Yes. I like how it sounds. Dina Dreamer. And, as you may have noticed, I'm a traditionalist about a few things. Though just a few.

Darren: I hope I can give you as much of a fairy tale as you want, Princess.

What are your favourite TS2 EAxis premade lots? Like, which ones can you happily play fresh from the install without any edits?

Off the top of my head, I'd say Londoste and Red's Famous Diner are both solid lots. I'd tweak a few things, sure, but they're pretty good to go if I've just created a new Downtown and wanna take a Sim out on a fancy (or not-so-fancy) date. They have solid layouts and vibes while providing good gameplay.

I also like the restaurant with the food stand upstairs at Three Lakes. And the spent fuel public pool in Strangetown is a fun concept, lol.

I've decided to play a little bit with the cooke family, and so I played with "londoste" restaurant from @plumbtales , wich I have to say is the best version of londoste that I've had seen 😍 everything went perfect, but sadly Julian past away this very night...

I've started a new hood so going through my draft posts from my old hood is interesting now... I always have a habit of making Londoste the social spot for SimCity's elite. Note the ease with which Alexander Goth and Mimi Landgraab chow down, no doubt desensitised to the pomp of such restaurants, and knowing their status is solidified. Lucy Goth née Burb here is a tad overdressed for lunch with her mother-in-law, and she's still a bit anxious about her etiquette in her space, but Bella respects her for showing off her assets.

Bella, with a slight touch of Lucy's arm, looks her up and down and smiles. "Honey, if I still had it, I'd be showing it off too." Lucy, eyes darting around hoping no one heard Bella's comment, hisses under her breath: "What in the world are you talking about?! You have men eating out of the palm of your hand!"

Reservations are necessary and limited for those who are not regular patrons. One could ingratiate oneself with making a sizeable donation to Londoste's philanthropic associations, but it would be rather gauche to do so. More refined middle class Fortune Sims who dream of being on Londoste's list know it's a matter of just biding your time - quietly make a name for yourself, show you're discreet and trustworthy, and you'll eventually get your foot in the door.

So like most people I redecorated The Hub with the general idea that it would be a gay bar. I added a bunch of little sprinkler fountains to the pool out front-

-these would later prove to be a bad idea! Lookit all that water.

Fun fact: The Hub is right across the street from Londoste. Somewhat different aesthetics going on here!

I did change the structure of the building a little bit, namely by adding an extra room up there that serves as a slightly more formal entrance to the restaurant area.

Now I have never been to a gay bar- or a regular bar for that matter- in my life, so I'm not 100% sure what the aesthetic would be like? I mean, I guess in most places it'd just be a normal looking bar. But I'm sure people would appreciate there being rainbow neon signs, sexy statues, random posters, and god knows what else, right?

Photo booth and dance sphere nooks. You can also sorta see in the first picture that the bathrooms got fused into one unisex bathroom- some lots I don't bother to degender the bathrooms but it felt necessary for this one.

The back has a fancier hot tub and a psuedo tropical-vacation kind of spot.

And I added some bits of extra decor to the restaurant area, although overall I kept it much the same. If it ain't broke etc.

Verona City Project

Hey everyone,

So I’ve been working on a lot of lots for a downtown which has similar architecture to Veronaville. I’m sure you’ve seen me share a lot of them here and I thought it’d be nice to make a post and gather all of the lots in one place in case if you want to recreate the downtown. 

I haven’t shared a hood before so I need to figure that out to actually share it and It’s still not finished anyway, I have so many more ideas and lots to create on the map. I want to create residential lots with classic architecture and a bit more modern stuff to simulate the modern ‘hood which surrounds the old downtown.

I used the River’s Bend map, from mod the sims for this. I’ve added the map with lot links under the cut because I will keep updating this post as I add more lots to the downtown. You can also find all of my Verona City lots here!

Dina and Nina got everything they wanted, and my family had to bury me without evidence.

My hands are already full of blood because I killed many people in the past, including my two friends who betrayed me. I'm still far from innocent, even though I'm staying away from crime after Madd Dogg contracted me and I became the owner of Las Venturas' Four Dragons Casino a long time ago. Bella: No. Just don't. I resent them for what they did to me, and I know that you're a gangster of The Grove Street families. But revenge and killing are never inside my dictionary. I decided not much needed changing. I do like the original concept; it just needed ceilings, some polished edges, and a bit more refined outdoor deco at the entrance. I did turn the chess area in front of the fireplace into a live music spot for local violinists.

And more!

Okay, this lot is up there by that spa lot EA had. This one is 4 Alpine Drive – a 30x30 lot where I think they had their gym. Anyway, I bulldozed that and used this old, old lot from TSR called Oh Marilla Victorian Villa – I kid you not. Anyway, I’ve used it before as a casino and even as a house! But this time I decided to make it into a hospital/spa combo. Mostly because all the EA rabbitholes are way too big, and the locals want you to use their hotsprings across the street for what ails you. Plus, with beds at a premium, they can charge more! So, I changed out all the windows to some made by cyclonesue, put on new siding and changed the roof a bit, then re-did all the landscaping because the original’s sucked.(Sorry, but it’s true). Then I added the rabbithole rugs to the first floor, and viola! Done! I went ahead and gave it the same name as EA’s hospital, just because I wanted to keep some of the town history.

Then, on the short little strip of street, at 2 Alpine Drive, I built the Londoste Restaurant – an exclusive lounge that uses that Business as Usual set. Except, I use Ani’s version. The bottom floor is based on the old restaurant from TS2, while the upper floor has a casino on one side and a dance room on the other.

Then, where EA had that ginormous spa – 34 Bristlecone Way – I used a park I found over on MTS called Pass the Day Park. Since I wanted this to be Hidden Springs famed “hot springs,” I got rid of almost all the stuff in the park –except for the track with the jogging strips and the plants. 

Then I added some “ruins” and some “springs” –aka: hot-tubs. I also used those sauna items from Sunlit Tides - the massage table and mudbath.

I put them under those 2 pagodas. I also put in a small, exercise pool. And some pigeons. Because every jogger loves to step in pigeon poop.

The last building up here is at 3 Peridot Drive – a 30x30 lot that I think EA used for a pool. Anyway, I bulldozed it, and placed another old, old lot from MTS called Sunset Valley Yoga. I obviously changed the name, then re-did the landscaping. Inside, I got rid of the plants they had all over the floor and made a regular, tile floor, then put down Kitabalibari’s yoga mats. On the second floor, I made an indoor tract using those jogging strips again, and a small area to practice martial arts.

It was August’s birthday and he wanted to take his fiance out for a fancy dinner; he was, admittedly, a bit uneasy about growing into an elder, wondering if she’d still find him attractive when he was old. He tried to put it out of his mind and enjoy his day with the love of his life. “Hello?” Asha said. “Earth to August. You ok? Ready to go in?” “Huh?” he said, shaking his head a bit. “Yeah, fine. Let’s go.”

The two went to Londoste, his cousin Marley’s famous restaurant, where they had a reason to dress in fancy clothes and be bougie for a day. “I’d like to make a toast,” August said, materializing a flute of champagne from thin air. “To our family. To Gray for being so strong and a good kid. To you, for being an incredible mother and person who puts up with my nonsense.”

“And to you, August, for being so kind and hardworking, and a wonderful man,” Asha finished, holding her glass up as well. “Happy birthday, baby.” “Thank you,” he said with a smile as they toasted.

Back at home, the two decided to change into more comfy clothes and prepare for August’s birthday. “This million candles on the cake joke is getting old,” August said. “I hear it’s a family tradition,” Asha said with a smirk. August rolled his eyes and laughed, bending down to blow out his candles.

After he did, he spun around into an elder, looking virtually the same, besides shockingly white hair atop his head. “Aha!” Asha shouted. “I knew you colored your beard!” “Damn it!” August said. “I forgot about that.”

“You look good, babe,” she said, pulling him into a kiss. “A bit Guy Fieri-like, but otherwise good.” “It’s my birthday, sweetie, I think we should keep the insults to a minimum.” “Right, ok,” Asha said sarcastically. She kissed him again. “Happy birthday, old man.”

TS4 Pleasantview

This is a project I have been working on for about 3 months. I love The Sims 4, but my all-time favorite is still The Sims 2. I also tend to get a bit nostalgic from time to time and so, after recreating a few lots and families from that game, this project was eventually born.

My goal was to recreate Pleasantview as accurately as possible. Now, keep in mind worlds, maps, and content differ from one game to another, so an exact replica wasn't possible. However, what I ended up with I'm pretty proud of.

I have made all 8 of the main Pleasantview families:

Their family trees, including deceased ancestors, are present. Their relationships, as they stand when Pleasantview is first played, are intact as is the amount of simoleons each family, who lives in a home, begins with.  

I have also included 3 of the Bluewater Village families:

There are a total of 27 playable Sims in the above mentioned families.

There are 63 TS2 recreated Townies including many of your old favorites:

In addition, there are 5 TS2 style aliens and 4 TS2 style vampires.

I have also included 32 original townies and 3 vampires of my own. There are 54 ghosts, in various places around the worlds too.

That makes a grand total of 188 custom Sims!

Many TS2 lots have been recreated to the best accuracy I could manage. Some are furnished as they were in the game:

Each and every Sim and lot are made by Shellybeans2 and contain no custom content. With the exception of 'My First Pet Stuff', all expansion, game, and stuff packs have been used in this project. If you do not have them all, you can still download TS4 Pleasantview, you will just be missing the items from packs you don't have.

Installation Instructions

Please Note: You do NOT need to download or install any of the lots or Sims separately to make this save work - they are already installed as part of the save. Each and every Sim and lot are made by Shellybeans2 and contain no custom content.

To install this save file:

1. IMPORTANT!!! Back up your Save files before doing anything else, just in case things don't go as planned. Copy and paste your saves folder somewhere safe. (You can find your Saves folder in the following location for PC: \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4)

2. Download the "Shellybeans2_TS4Pleasantview.zip" file.

3. Using a program like WinZIP or WinRAR, extract the "TS4 Pleasantview" folder somewhere safe.

4. Open the "TS4 Pleasantview" folder. Copy the file in it (Slot_00000104.save) and paste it into your \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves folder.

5. Start your game. From the main menu, click on "Load Game". You should see "Pleasantview" as an option on the menu. You may have to scroll down past your other saves to find it (it has a date of 02/10/2019).

6. Select "Pleasantview" and load the save.
