LUCY IN THE METAVERSE!
Lucy on Lucille / Lucille on Lucy
Tumblr media
Lucille Ball created the Lucy character to live in a real world; a world also populated by movies stars, one of whom was film and radio performer Lucille Ball!  On rare occassion, the Lucy character dared to acknowledge the existence of her famous portrayer giving viewers a rare visit to the metaverse. Lucille believed that comedy was better if it stayed close to the truth. Her sitcoms are full of references to her own life and the lives of those around her - but that’s not enough to be Meta!  Here are some moments that transcend mere references and become self-referential!
Tumblr media
In 1946, Lucille Ball (the actress) met Lucille Ball (the filly), courtesy of jockey Johnny Longden. This meeting no doubt influenced Longden’s playing himself in “Lucy and The Loving Cup” (1957).
~ META MAGAZINES ~
Tumblr media
Lucille Ball was on the cover of a local edition of TV Guide (January 25, 1952), which was casually left on the coffee table during “Breaking the Lease” (1952).
Tumblr media
In “Ricky’s Life Story” (1953), the photo of Lucy ("That's a fine picture of my left arm!") holding Little Ricky, may actually be of Lucille Ball because the monogram on the blouse are the initials 'LB' - although it could be 'LR' as the lower part of the 'B' is blocked by the baby!. It could also be another person wearing Lucy’s blouse. Very meta!
Tumblr media
When Look turned up in “Lucy Gets Ricky on the Radio” (1952), the June 3, 1952, issue actually had Lucille Ball on the cover!
Tumblr media
Look was part of a 1952 flashback intro during Lucy’s pregnancy. Vivian Vance has her hand over Ball’s photo. Inside is an article by Desi Arnaz about his wife.
Tumblr media
Another ‘meta’ magazine appearance was in “Ricky Has Labor Pains” (1953) where a pregnant Lucy is reading the January 1953 McCall's (January 1953), which clearly has a cover that say “Why I Love Lucy” by Desi Arnaz!
~ META COSTUMES ~
Tumblr media
Desi Arnaz was such a golf nut that he built a second home on the 17th fairway of the Thunderbird Golf Club in Rancho Mirage, California. Ricky Ricardo (an East Coast golfer) wore the Thunderbird insignia on his cap in “The Golf Game” (1954). Desi ad-libs a verbal mention of the club at the start of “The Charm School” (S3;E15) earlier in 1954.
RICKY: “You know, the whole membership of the Thunderbird Club was around the 18th hole. All I had to do was make this measly two-foot putt to win, and I missed it!”
Tumblr media
In “Lucy and Aladdin’s Lamp” (1971), Lucy Ricardo’s trademark blue polka dot dress turns up at Lucy Carter’s garage sale!  The dress is a visual Easter Egg but is never talked about.
~ META MUSIC ~
Tumblr media
For “Lucy’s Last Birthday” (1953), Ricky’s birthday present to Lucy is a song called “I Love Lucy.” In reality, viewers had been listening to the Eliot Daniel theme song for nearly two years, but the previously unheard lyrics by Harold Adamson were new.
Tumblr media
In “Job Switching” (1952), nine weeks before it was announced that Lucy Ricardo would have a baby, Ricky is heard idly whistling “There’s A Brand New Baby in Our House,” a song that Desi Arnaz wrote several years earlier for the birth of his daughter. When Ethel asks Ricky if he wrote the song, he replies that he wrote it for Lucy. But since Lucie and Lucy are pronounced the same, Desi  may be talking about his daughter!
Tumblr media
A few weeks later, in “Sales Resistance” (1953), Ricky sings the song in full, recording it on a reel to reel tape recorder in his living room. Coincidentally, the song was released on the B side of the “I Love Lucy” theme song.
~ META CASTING ~
Tumblr media
In “Don Juan is Shelved” (1955) Lucy thinks real-life Hollywood producer Dore Schary is an out-of-work actor so she hires him to pretend to be... Dore Schary! Schary was supposed to play himself in the episode, but backed out at the last minute and the role was recast with Phil Ober, marring the mega meta nature of the episode. An added layer of meta was added by casting Ober, who was married to Vivian Vance and was - at times - an “out-of-work actor.”
Tumblr media
Frank Nelson memorably played the exasperated train conductor dealing with Lucy Ricardo in “The Great Train Robbery” (1955), then reprised the role to deal with Lucy Carmichael when “Lucy Visits the White House” (1963). Since the conductor was never given a character name - it is possible he exists in both metaverses!
Tumblr media
William Frawley made his last scripted television appearance in “Lucy and the Countess Have a Horse Guest” (1965) as a horse trainer. When he is out of earshot, Lucy Carmichael turns the Countess (Ann Sothern) and says:
LUCY: “You know, he reminds me of someone I used to know.”
Frawley spent nine years playing Fred Mertz on “I Love Lucy.”
Tumblr media
“Lucy The Gun Moll” (1966) is essentially a parody of Desilu’s crime drama “The Untouchables.” The meta madness is that the original actors (Robert Stack, Bruce Gordon, Steve London, and Walter Winchell) were cast, but the character names were changed to protect the innocent!  Lucy, as chanteuse Rusty Martin, even mentions the series title to pound the satire home.
Tumblr media
At the end of “Lucy Visits Jack Benny” (1974), the world’s most famous bus driver Ralph Kramden makes a wordless appearance. Jackie Gleason played the character on his variety show and the sitcom “The Honeymooners”, airing simultaneously with “I Love Lucy.”  Ball and Gleason collaborated on several specials. The meta world that contains Lucy Carter, Ralph also exists!
 ~ META REAL ESTATE ~
Tumblr media
In “The Tour” (1956), the Beverly Hills home of Richard Widmark actually is the home of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.  A second unit film crew was sent to Roxbury Drive residence to film establishing shots of Lucy and Ethel walking up to the home. The actors, however, are not Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance, but identically dressed doubles!
Tumblr media
When “Lucy Sues Mooney” (1967) with the help of her wily lawyer Wally Wiley (Jack Carter), she gives her address as 780 Gower Street. This was the address of the Desilu Studios Production Offices. An extra layer of meta is added because Carter was best man at Ball’s wedding to Gary Morton. Lucy Carmichael also gives this as her address in “Lucy The Babysitter” (1967).
~ META MENTIONS ~
Tumblr media
In “Baby Pictures” (1953) Charlie Appleby tries to impress the Ricardos about his TV station’s catalog of films:
CHARLIE: “We’ve got the newest moving pictures in town. I bought a block of films yesterday, and I want to tell you that they’re going to make television stars out of some of the actors. Now, just remember their names: Conway Tearle and Mabel Normand.”
Tumblr media
Conway Tearle’s career bounced between Broadway and Hollywood. One of his last starring roles was in Hey Diddle Diddle, a play that premiered in 1937 featuring a 26 year-old Lucille Ball. The play was scheduled to open on Broadway, but closed after one week in Washington DC due to Tearle’s declining health. Had it succeeded, Ball’s career trajectory might have been very different!
Tumblr media
In 1967, TV producer and director Sheldon Leonard (who actually worked at Desilu), arranged to film a bank robbery at Mr. Mooney’s bank - but keeps it a secret from Lucy, naturally. The end of the episode turns very meta when Leonard says:
“I suddenly got this idea for a new television series. It would be about this kooky red headed girl. She works in a bank and she gets into all sorts of impossible situations and… ...forget it. Nobody would ever believe it!”
Tumblr media
A guest appearance by Van Johnson in “Guess Who Owes Lucy $23.50?” (1968) is used as an opportunity to promote their recently released film Yours Mine and Ours, where Lucy plays the wife of Henry Fonda and Johnson their best friend.
VAN JOHNSON: “I loved working with that kooky redhead.” LUCY CARTER: “Personally, I thought she was much too young for Henry Fonda.”
Tumblr media
During Lucille Ball’s third appearance on “The Carol Burnett Show” (1969) two flight attendants Finster (Carol) and Agnes (Lucille Ball) compete for a best employee award. They encounter a suspicious passenger (Harvey Korman) with a Fidel Castro-like beard, cigars tucked in his breast pocket, and a Spanish accent.
HOOPER (Lucy):“Where are you from, sir?  Havana?” PASSENGER (Korman): (alarmed) “Havana? What makes you think I’m from Havana?” HOOPER (Lucy):“Well, if it’s one thing I know, it’s a Cuban accent.”
This meta moment relies on the audience knowing that Lucille Ball had been married to Desi Arnaz, a Cuban immigrant, as was his sitcom spouse, Ricky Ricardo. In the late 1960′s hijacking planes to Cuba was headline news ripe for satire.
Tumblr media
When “Lucy Competes With Carol Burnett” (1970), she dresses like a charwoman identical to the one created by Burnett for “The Carol Burnett Show.” When Carol Krausmeyer (disguised as a hippie reporter) asks how Lucy Carter thought up such a crazy outfit.
LUCY: “From some goofy dame on TV.”  CAROL: “Well, she must be some kind of nut!”
~ THE DESILU METAVERSE ~
Tumblr media
Lucy Ricardo met Danny Williams (Danny Thomas) on a cross-over episode of “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour”;
Danny Williams drives through Mayberry and meets Sheriff Andy Taylor, which spawns “The Andy Griffith Show”;
“The Andy Griffith Show” is where the Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors) character began before getting his own show. “Gomer Pyle USMC”;
Tumblr media
Gomer Pyle turns up on “The Lucy Show,” although here she is Lucy Carmichael, not Lucy Ricardo (even though both women share the maiden name McGillacuddy).
The outcome is that Lucy Ricardo and Lucy Carmichael exist in the same (TV) Metaverse!
~ METAGRAPHS ~
Tumblr media
In “Lucy The Gun Moll” (1966) Rusty Martin’s (aka Lucy) dressing room is decorated with black and white photographs of Lucille Ball performing. Behind Robert Stack is a photo of Ball singing “Jitterbug Bite” in the 1940 film Dance, Girl, Dance. She met Desi Arnaz while making this movie. It was filmed at RKO, the studio that became Desilu.
Tumblr media
When Kim decorates her room with posters of classic film stars in “Lucy and the Andrews Sisters” (1969), Lucy Carter finds a poster of Lucille Ball! She looks at it thoughtfully, is about to put it on the wall, and then says “Meh” and puts it down.
Tumblr media
When “Lucy Carter Meets Lucille Ball” (1974), the walls of Ball’s dressing room are covered with photos from the star’s real life, including one of her mother Dede.
Tumblr media
The black and white photo next to the door is from “The Lucy Show” episode “Lucy and Chris’s New Year’s Eve Party” (1962) where Lucy Carmichael did a silent movie sketch as Charlie Chaplin. So Lucille Ball is playing Lucy Carmichael who is playing Charlie Chaplin!
Tumblr media
In 1975′s Lucille Ball special with Dean Martin, “Lucy Gets Lucky”, Lucy Collins admires a photo of Lucille Ball while walking through the Las Vegas MGM Grand Hotel’s Hollywood Hall of Fame.
~ META MASTERPIECE ~
Tumblr media
The ultimate visit to the Metaverse is the “Here’s Lucy” episode “Lucy Carter Meets Lucille Ball” (1974), in which Lucy, Kim, and Cynthia (Carole Cook) enter a Lucille Ball look-alike contest.
Tumblr media
With the assistance of split screens and doubles (the best technology available at the time, Ball played both roles - and was even billed accordingly!
Tumblr media
Lucy, Cynthia, and Kim both don caftans and dark wigs to emulate Ball’s look in her upcoming film Mame, although the film is never directly mentioned. Kim says that a lot of her friends think she looks like Lucille Ball.
LUCY: “That's ridiculous. She's old enough to be your mother!”
And the winner is...
Tumblr media
...Lucy, naturally!

I saw a comment about the Lucyverse being abandoned and was like *Victorian lady affronted gasp* what?!
I last updated in—um, well, yes, it was 2021 and I flit between lots of projects even when I have the energy for doing anything at all. But I would never abandon her for good!! I have a completed sixteen page outline for the next fic, I just need to find the discipline and space to write it!!!
(I even have a plan for the fic after the fic I wrote the outline for. I can't even imagine not having Lucy fic percolating in the back of my mind at this point. I've been poking at the series since 2011 and I spent ~5 years figuring out and writing the most recent one.)

hi, flick! i’ve missed you, but i’m glad you had a good holiday!!
will you do 2, 13, 15, 16 and 28 from the oc question meme for henry, lucy and donnacha?
Ask Game
2. What are their favourite possessions? Why? (sentimentality, history, price, etc)
Henry's favourite possession is his P.C. setup, since it cost a lot of money and he built it himself, but also because it allows him the freedom to work remotely. He also has a very nice knitted blanket that he bought for himself when he first moved in, when he was doing better financially, and he makes a point of taking very good care of it.
Lucy actually doesn't find herself getting overly attached to her possessions. Everything she owns could be lost in a fire and she wouldn't really mourn anything. She'd be pissed that she'd have to start her flannel shirt and funky sunglasses collections from scratch, but that would be it.
Donnacha's favourite possession is simply his PlayStation 4. It brings him a lot of joy and stress relief, and also gives him a cosy rush of nostalgia for the good old days when he and his sister would wake up early to play games together, before rugby and school became the huge focuses of his life.
13. How forgiving are they? What do they consider unforgivable?
Henry is fairly forgiving. He's a deep thinker himself and he's always open to considering the viewpoints and philosophies of other people, and even if he doesn't fully agree with them, usually finds a way of seeing where they're coming from. The only thing he really finds unforgivable is discrimination fueled by hate.
Even though she's well-versed in human psychology and, like Henry, can often bring herself to understand other people very deeply, Lucy is an Olympic-level grudge holder when she wants to be. Someone truly betraying a friend or maliciously breaking a promise would do it for her.
Donnacha, being a sensitive soul whilst thinking he's the most aloof man on the planet, will religiously hold a grudge over any damage dealt to his feelings. If something is serious enough to have hurt him, in his mind, it must be something absolutely unforgivable, and he will be indignant about it until the end. He's been known to cut ties with friends (in school) because they said unfavourable things about his favourite sports players.
15. How good are they at conversation? Are they a small talk master, bad at initiating, etc?
Henry is blessed with the ability to convince anybody to talk endlessly about themselves, so when he's on dates or meeting someone for the first time, he comes off as extremely charming, whilst on the inside he's an anxious mess. He struggles to bring up or discuss heavy topics, though, and he'll stammer around the point for a long time before anyone realises what he's getting at.
Lucy is a social chameleon, doesn't embarrass easily, and can get a good read on someone within a few seconds of meeting them, so she can insert herself into or initiate any conversation imaginable. She usually avoids small talk and heads straight to the point with a firm voice that others find soothing.
Donnacha comes from the Irish countryside, where small talk about the weather and the crops and who's dead in the parish comes as natural as breathing, and he rarely struggles to strike up a conversation with anyone. He's also quite smooth at transitioning into more serious topics and getting to the point, though he does rush it sometimes.
16. What food do they absolutely hate?
Henry can't eat kebab meat after a terrible experience in the early days of living in the house. He also hates soup; he can't stand the feeling of "eating" something that's actually liquid.
Lucy hates olives, and has been known to throw a tantrum when their pizza place accidentally added olives one time. The flatmates refer to that night as Olive-geddon.
Donnacha hates a lot of things, honestly. He hates most kinds of fish, though he'll force it down if he has to. He's especially terrified of sushi, though he's never tried it. Trying new food puts him on edge; basically, venturing outside of the typical five or six meals he eats every week is unpleasant for him.
28. Describe their morning routine.
Henry's morning varies widely, depending on his work deadlines, levels of pain. If he's free or doesn't have a set/upcoming deadline, he usually sleeps right through the morning because he was up late, either gaming or watching shows or just being in pain. If he needs to start work early, he sets his alarm for thirty minutes before he needs to be up, just to prepare himself mentally and physically. He forces himself to walk to the shower, both to get his body moving and to wake up his brain. If he has the capacity, he brushes his teeth and/or shaves, but he does sometimes neglect these tasks. He then usually has just enough time to get dressed and towel his hair before he has to be in his desk chair.
Lucy has perfected the art of waking up at the last possible second and getting everything done in under ten minutes. She rolls out of bed and starts playing some music on her phone as she throws herself into some clothes (she showers at night). She brushes her hair or lets out her braids if she slept in them, ties it in a ponytail or a bun. Brushes her teeth at the kitchen sink because someone's usually in the shower. Makes herself a coffee in a mug (if she's staying in) or a travel cup (if she's heading out).
Donnacha has never broken the habit of waking up like he used to when his mother got him up for school. He wakes up an hour before he needs to leave for college, gets in the shower and shaves and brushes his teeth, then goes to the kitchen to make a cup of tea and either some toast or a bowl of cereal. He does all of this in under twenty-five minutes. So he ends up lying back on his bed or sitting on the couch, watching the news or just scrolling on his phone, until it's time to leave.

☝️Lucy McDonagh☝️
The third one is an outfit she wouldn't be caught dead in, but the scenario is that she crashed with Ryan and Nancy and had to borrow some of their clothes.

☝️Henry Wilde☝️
Henry is gender nonconforming and also does drag under the name Lavender.

The third one was supposed to look like an airline pilot's uniform but I forgot to change his shoes. The dog represents his family's sheepdog, Molly.
Picrew (I love it so much that all of my Lucyverse OCs needed multiple outfits. Stayed tuned for Payton, Autumn, Claudette, and Dani)

What do all of your Lucyverse charas do for work? And if they’re in uni, what are their career goals?
Thank you so much for asking, friend!
Lucy used to be a teacher and guidance counsellor, but circumstances have led to the need for her to retrain. She's studying philosophy part-time and has an office job that she dislikes, and has no real, solid plan for her career. She honestly just wants to get back to counselling.
Payton graduated college (film studies) a year or so ago, and right now they're an assistant manager at a cafe. They're currently unsure of what their future career looks like, because while they love filmmaking, they also enjoy the social and managerial aspects of their current job. And also coffee.
Henry finished college (graphic design) a few years ago and he currently does freelance website work. He doesn't find the work overly exciting, but he likes that he gets to work from home and spend his free time on his hobbies.
Donnacha is training to become a pilot and in the meantime is being supported by his family; he spends every other weekend helping on the farm if he's needed.
Autumn is studying general arts, with a focus on theatre studies, and she works a food delivery route to help pay the bills (she lives at home but her father can only work part-time and her mother is unemployed).
Claudette is studying law, and is partially supported by her parents and partially supports herself by teaching private English lessons. Their goal is to become a barrister.
Dani works at the same cafe as Payton. She dropped out of art college, but spends pretty much all of her free time working on her graphic novel, which she hopes will free her from needing a day job in the future.

now i’m curious! of the ones who don’t want kids, why not? have they not really considered it or are they super against it for some reason??
Shayne's reasons are a mixture of not having thought about it too much (viewing it as one of those things that are for other people, not for him), and being afraid that he'd be an awful parent.
Elliott feels he's fundamentally too impatient to have a child who relies on him to set an example. He already blames himself for some of Shayne's anger-related habits.
Felix has a generally messed-up view of marriage and family thanks to the one that he was born into. He's terrified to continue that cycle. Note: Elliott and Felix also both love to travel and be spontaneous, which is another factor.
In true Ryan fashion, she is simply neutral about the topic of children. She never set out to or dreamed about raising any, but was fine with taking Elliott in when the situation arose.
Henry has too many hangups about passing his family's bad mental and physical health onto his children, whether they're biologically his or not. He just doesn't think he'll ever be in a good enough headspace to take care of himself plus another human being.
Lucy simply does not enjoy the company of children, full-stop. She'll tolerate their presence if she has no other choice, and she enjoys working with teenagers in the context of therapy, but has no interest beyond that.
Autumn also fears passing her family's health history onto any potential children she would have. This would probably have been a problem for her and Donnacha down the line, if they hadn't broken up.
Payton would raise a child if they had a partner for whom having children was important, but it's not something they would want themself. They see parenthood as a bit of a minefield of misgendering and dysphoria.
Mitsuko and Kazu's own rough upbringings left both of them with little desire to bring children into society. Bastian would have children with Mitsuko if she wanted them, but is overall just neutral about it.
Blake and Astrophel both reject the idea of (biological at least) having children because neither of them would want their children to inherit their magic abilities.
Lilith views themself as too selfish to be a good parent. It's something they've thought about a lot, actually, but ultimately decided would never happen.
(I think I've covered everybody. Let me know if I forgot anyone!)

also 80 for shayne because he needs it 💀🍄
Oh my god, I was so hoping someone would request that for Shayne because I've had this knocking around in my head for so long!
100 Word Drabbles
80. Therapy
CW: anxiety, therapy session.
___
Shayne couldn’t make his hands stop shaking. God fucking damn it.
Maybe he should have chosen someone else, but this had sounded easier when he’d agreed to it. It didn’t feel easy now. Familiar, maybe, but not in a comfortable way. Familiar like the shadowy edges of a bad dream.
He wanted her to say something snarky to break the tension. Instead, she prodded her front teeth with the end of her pen, observing him.
He hugged himself, wishing he could fold up and vanish.
"It’s been about… two years," Lucy McDonagh said. "Let’s pick up where we left off."

Is 78 (painkillers) too on the nose for Henry?
Hmm, I don't think so!
100 Word Drabbles
CW: medication, chronic pain, food mention.
___
“Are you supposed to take those on an empty stomach?”
Henry glanced guiltily in Lucy’s direction. He hadn’t even realised she’d looked up from her phone while he’d been shoveling his painkillers into his mouth. He shivered from the same cold that had started seeping into his bones. It was too early in the season to ask to start using the radiators.
“No?” Lucy guessed.
“No.”
“Well, I’m ordering Chinese tonight anyway.” She folded her legs beneath herself and held up her phone. “What do you want? Fried rice?”
Henry half-smiled at the thought of warm food. “Sounds good, Lu.”

🪄 + Donnacha
Have a stressed-out Donnacha from a future angsty fic.
___
Donnacha moved in closer to the bar, his heart pressing on his windpipe. “So, you know her?”
“Yeah, she used to come in here all the time, until about… six months ago?” The bartender shook his head. “Came in last night, though. Everyone was delighted to see her. Bought a round of tequila for everyone.”
“Shit,” Lucy hissed.
Donnacha had a sick pain in his gut. He almost wanted to punch the bartender, but he knew that wouldn't accomplish anything. “What time did Lavender leave?”

🍵If you had a tummyache, how would you want to be comforted?
Ask Game
Thank you!! I think I already answered this for my main cast (I'll link the post if I can find it), so I'm actually going to go ahead and answer these for the Lucyverse Gang.
Lucy - "I'm not too keen on physical comfort," Lucy grimaces. Her eyes soften just slightly. "But if someone was there to bring me tea and meds, I'd - I'd really like that."
Henry - He awkwardly shifts his weight. "Not that I'd ever build up the nerve to ask this in real life, but... but I'd really just like to be held. Maybe the person holding me could lay their hand on my tummy..."
Payton - "Lots of belly rubs and hugs." They break into a shy smile. "If it went on for a long time, it'd be nice if someone brought me some light snacks, too, something easy to digest. My belly usually feels so much worse if I don't eat."
Donnacha - He looks a little wistful. "Well, I'm trying to get to grips with taking care of myself these days, but... just knowing someone is close-by would be lovely." He swallows hard, eyes glazing over like he's trying not to cry. "I-I don't ask for a lot, but knowing I can call on someone if I do need something would be a - a comfort in itself."
Autumn - "It sounds a little selfish, but I'd just want someone there to help me get as comfortable as possible so I could fall asleep. I find it really comforting when Payton plays with my hair and strokes my face." She smiles and half-consciously folds her arms over her stomach. "Belly rubs might be nice, too, but I usually feel too embarrassed to properly enjoy them, so that might make things worse."
Claudette - "I don't need much comfort, but I do need some peace and quiet when I'm not feeling right. Although, I do appreciate a good cup of tea and some conversation to distract me."

to me it makes sense the way you’re tagging them cause it’s the group they were introduced with. as someone who really likes asher, i hope there’s plot stuff that involves him eventually. i can see lots of potential for stuff with both the stw gang like angsty supernatural reveal stuff and strained friendships with the potential for it leading to stronger relationships in the long run and the lucyverse gang involving him getting closer to them and maybe realizing he doesn’t need someone who treats him like dirt… or even both if you kinda wove them together. we haven’t really delved into lucy’s knowledge of the occult yet, but i dunno… maybe if asher found out about vampires, ryan or nancy would introduce him to her to help him adjust. and ooh, then you could have more angsty henry stuff when lucy is hanging out with asher and not really telling him anything… anyway. i’m rambling now. all i intended to say initially was that your tagging system makes sense 😅
Ahh, thank you, that makes it feel like it makes much more sense!!
I really do want Asher to become more involved with the gang, but there's also two huge StW plotlines, plus the Madame A's gang involvement, that I need to slog through before that happens. I have a lot of ambitious thoughts in my head, but making myself sit down and write them is a whole other story.
In the meantime, I'm always more than happy to write sickfics for any of my lesser-used OCs, so if you have any ideas for Asher, please send them!! They could be related to Elliott and Felix, or Connie, or Jayden, or Claudette.
I adore the idea of Lucy being the person that Ryan and Nancy hand Asher over to lol kind of like a fast food employee who needs to train the newbie. And you're so right about the additional Henry/Lucy angst if she were to take on that responsibility (she's also going to go back to being Shayne's counsellor, so that'll bite into her time as well). Ahh, so many thoughts, thank you for all of this!!
