Here's what I shared over there about this set: This resource includes five different versions of a set of more than 30 creative and engaging writing prompts for the start of the school year. These are the writing prompts that I chose to do at the start of the school year to get to know my class and to help them get to know each other. They served us well in helping build classroom community through students sharing their writing with each other. They have been carefully crafted to be creative, engaging, interesting, and not-stereotypical. These writing prompts are perfect for student writing journals, warmup activities, bellringers, or classroom writing practice.

The Pull of Autumn - Outlaw Empire - featuring Mark Stewart, Adrian Sherwood, & Doug Wimbish (!)

Art rock collective The Pull of Autumn presents their new single 'Outlaw Empire' featuring Mark Stewart, founding member of the legendary UK band The Pop Group, and remixed by the esteemed Adrian Sherwood. The first taste of the band's fourth album 'Beautiful Broken World', The Pull of Autumn mastermind Daniel Darrow incorporates elements of granular glitch synthesis to the track, the end result being a daring mixture of dub, jazz, spoken word and electronic music.

Long wishing to collaborate with Mark Stewart, the opportunity finally arose for Darrow thanks to Scott Crow of Emergency Heart Records, through which both Darrow and Stewart have released music. Fortunately Stewart, known for his experimental postpunk-jazz explorations and his production and remixes for such artists as The Fall, The Slits and Nine Inch Nails, thought it was a great idea.

Also featuring bassist Doug Wimbish (Living Colour, Tackhead and sessional musician for The Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Depeche Mode, Sugarhill Gang and James Brown), this track was given the golden remix treatment by the legendary Adrian Sherwood, English record producer and owner of the famed On-U-Sound Records, the first label to experiment with early dub reggae music using echo, reverb and delay techniques. Mixing dub with other forms of electronic music, Sherwood has created remixes for Depeche Mode, Primal Scream, Skinny Puppy and Sinead O' Connor.

'Beautiful Broken World' is an ambitious 15-track undertaking that began in early 2020 and involves a number of iconic artists. They include Philip Parfitt of The Perfect Disaster, Stuart Moxham of Rough Trade postpunk band Young Marble Giants, Luke Skyscraper James of I.R.S. recording artist FASHION and John Neff, who has contributed to multiple David Lynch films and is also a member of David Lynch’s Blubob.

After careful deliberation, the results are in for our CCAD 24 Hour Animation Contest!

Rugby: Issac Luke's cheeky dig at All Blacks star Sonny Bill Williams

New Zealand Warriors hooker Issac Luke has made a hilarious return to social media by trolling All Blacks ace Sonny Bill Williams, just over 24 hours after seemingly conceding his time at the NRL club was over.

Luke, who signed a one-year contract extension with the Warriors in October last year, has had a disappointing NRL season, battling injury and suspension and sliding down the pecking order at Mt Smart.

The 32-year-old posted that he would join Kiwis coach Michael Maguire at the Wests Tigers “in a heartbeat”, in response to a fan’s post about a lack of depth at hooker next season following Robbie Farah’s retirement and the season-ending injury to Jacob Liddle.

Luke deleted the tweet a short while later.

He was back on Twitter on Monday, however, replying to a picture posted by Williams of his adorable young son Zaid, with the caption: “The lil man started walking. But he’ll be running by the end of the week.”

Luke, a good friend of the divisive All Blacks midfielder, suggested Williams’ figure-hugging sweatpants belonged to 14-month-old Zaid.

Williams made his return to test rugby at the weekend with a solid all-round performance against the Wallabies in the Bledisloe Cup decider at Eden Park, after spending much of the season on the sidelines due to injury.

He was thrust into the spotlight moments before the match, however, as fans took to social media to question why he wasn’t singing the national anthem

Williams stayed noticeably silent through the Māori and English versions of God Defend New Zealand leading to some social media users suggesting it was in support of the Ihumātao protest – after All Blacks teammate TJ Perenara was seen wearing a “Ihumātao” wrist band in support of the occupation of the land near the protected Ōtuataua Stonefields in Māngere, in opposition to the housing development planned by Fletcher Building.

Williams has not been afraid to use his platform for protest, famously refusing to wear a bank logo on his Blues jersey.

As yet there has been no reason given for Williams staying mum during the anthem.

Creado y producido por Fred Savage (The Wonder Years, Friends from College) junto a Dave Jeser y Matt Silverstein, guionistas de Life in Pieces o The Cleveland Show, es un aftershow -talk show emitido después de una serie para comentar el episodio- de The Flare, thriller de ciencia ficción dirigido por Jon Cassar (24, The Orville) y adaptación de las novelas de TJ Whitford, de las que Savage es fan, en las que un acontecimiento relacionado con el Sol provoca efectos en la Tierra, y más concretamente en el pueblo obrero de Milford, Illinois, y poco a poco desemboca en una batalla postapocalíptica por la supervivencia humana. El programa, presentado por Savage y la comediante Taylor Tomlinson (The Comedy Lineup) y dirigido por Carrie Havel (Talking Dead), contendrá entrevistas a actores, visitas al set y discusiones con fans.
