We Bare Bears - Season 4 Overview (Second Half)

Soooo, Cartoon Network has aired at least 5 new WBB episodes free online to promote the new week of episodes that are coming these week. I already said in my first overview of the season that the first batch of episodes were not bad, minus a few really good ones. I’m not saying that it’s not going over a Seasonal Rot, heck no! It’s just that the episodes I watched weren’t that great. There were more Baby Bear episodes this time, and there was a lack of Chloe so far, minus Money Man, which kinda sucked.

But hey, since we got some episodes again, I think it’s fair to go over these five anyway. Once this season is complete, I’ll have to give it a proper ranking once I rate all of the episodes in order, along with a top 5 best and worst as well. I am aware that Charlie’s Halloween Thing 2 came out from October, but I have to give that one along with the first part a proper review. I am unsure about these episodes but who knows, maybe it won’t have the typical lame formula from most Charlie episodes! But I digress...

Sarcasm aside, let’s get this over with!

Episode 20-24 Rankings (in complete order):

Episode 20 - Escandalosos Okay, I think I‘m starting to understand why we keep getting more Baby Bears episodes. That ending makes me hope that they’ll see Rudolpho again in the future, along with Karla and a few other characters they encountered. Fingers crossed!

I actually like the plot, how far the Bears will go for their new friend. And holy crap, I just looove the Mexican aesthetics in this episode! The crew must had a lot of fun putting all of this together. Also, we got a reference from Mucha Lucha, and El Tigre’s name can be seen from the scoreboard!

Not a bad episode!

Final Rating: 7.5/10

Episode 21 - Pizza Band Honestly, out of all of the weird stories they’ve done, this is by far the oddest of them all. I first thought that it was going to go all Milli Vanilli with the whole lip sync thing, but they decided to kick it up a notch with something I find to be pretty funny.

And--THE GUY WHO IS A PART OF SMASH MOUTH DID THE SONGS FOR THIS EPISODE!? That’s awesome! This episode is also filled with some funny moments here and there. Ice Bear’s robot head is both awesome and hilarious at the same time. And I do dig the amount of pizza restaurant refs we got.

Oh yeah, and this reminds me how awful Chuck E Cheeses really is now. I honestly prefer Dave and Busters, thank you very much.

Final Rating: 8/10

Episode 22 - Adopted So it’s an episode where the Bears get adopted by millionaire Nature Cat, only to discover that they’re being living chew toys to King Kong. ...Yeah sounds about right!

Not a bad episode, it’s rather cute and I like the big King Kong ref at the end. I almost thought William was going to be a huge asshole, but thankfully I was wrong tho

Final Rating: 7/10

Aaaaand were down to the last two episodes in the batch that I’m kinda intrigued by from the episode plots alone! Let’s see how they hold up! Episode 23 - Wingmen This episode is super neat! I love how Panda is going this far as to help this bird find his mate. Not only to get the bears some sleep but to also give him his own happy ending. It also gives us some small parts as to how Panda himself is still searching for a girlfriend. This sounds obvious, but I’m pretty sure that somehow Lucy will go back to him. I’m sure of it, but I’m sure they’ll do something else that I’ll be intrigued in.

Also, never in my life have I ever been to a prom, but for what they do with the whole nature forest prom was adorable. I almost expected Charlie to just come in here out of/ nowhere. I dunno why, I just thought of it lol.

Episode 24 - Braces What I watched: Braces

What I expected: Braceface, I suppose.

What I got: EDGELORD MAGNETO

This is rather a tough episode to criticize. I might as well talk about the main issue here.

The problem with this one is that the pacing that leads to Panda’s transformation is not developed well. There should be enough reasons as to why Panda became this way. Sure we got a few bystanders making fun of him, but it’s still not enough. And plus, Panda claimed that his bros insulted him. Oh yeah, they did smirked from the beginning, but that was all it. They just kinda explore how he could go well with his new powers. I know that you need to try and fit the eleventh minute mark, but I think there should be a bit more time to fill in the gaps.

But on the plus side though, Pandaro might just be one of the most interesting one-time villains in the show. While again, I do wish they went further with his progress into becoming evil, he was still really great and rather chilling. The first time we see him controlling all of those phones was really cool. Kudos to Bobby for handling his voice, so unsettling, I like it. Sucks that we didn’t see the cellphone meteor into full effect, or at least have him go towards the city and go all Chronicle from there. And plus, I do wish we see how well he can expand his powers. But for what we got, that’s fine by me. Ice Bear’s line really broke me. It’s a fun episode overall!

Also, Pandaro for Smash? Please? Or at least in future CN games, I won’t mind!

Final Thoughts:

So this was a pretty neat batch! Not so bad unlike last time. I think Braces might be my favorite out of all of them, just because of Pandaro.

Again, I won’t give out my final ranking since I need the entire season to be completed!

But for now, not bad at all.

I’m not sure when we’ll get another Icy Nights episodes, but the next batch of episodes do sound more promisi--huh? Hey, what’s this?

Watanuki Kimihiro, Yukito Tsukishiro, Banjou Kizaki, Arata Wataya, Jou Kiddo, Keima Katsuragi, Natsuki Usami, and Katsuki Yuri came to mind for the megane boys!

Bless!!! Well we all know Watanuki is a true son I just want to take care of him and let him RestTM. Jun Fukuyama is the best b/c his voice can do manic and soft alternate reallly well but be cohesive. glasses add to endearing nerdiness. Yukito is absolutely the type of boy id have a crush on as a middle schooler. too sweet, i adore him. i find his personality really soothing and hos voice actors have great voices. (im a sucker for women voicing men). a little too spacy to be a boyfriend or hisband tho. and i LOVE natsuki usami. a good kid with realistic character traits. definitely a Son, not a boyfriend but only b/c Akira is my Tsuritama husband just out of uniqueness and realistic age match (sexy deep voice, brown skin, weird, loves ducks). really want to cosplay Natsuki someda tho. .I have not watched YOI but Yuuki is cute. def love the design. been tempted to by chibi stuff of him just for the look.dont know the others but judging from google images. banjou doesnt really do it for me b/c he looks like a Bad Boy archetype just with glasses shoved on. joe is a nice kid but his glasses are bit too Anerican cartoon like w/ their shapes relative to his triangular head unsettle me.i havemt watched digimon in ages so dont know him that well but his DigiTri version: top Babe. absolutely my type. gotta get around to watching some of that. looks like my ideal man. keima hmmm looks like someone id like in show but not compelling look enough to be the reason i watch a show. he looks like a mean teenager. im only into morally ambigous adult men or troubled teenagers or wholesome boys.thanks for conteibuting! these are definitely a lot of nice boys to dream about! :)

I just watched The ABCs of Death...

Normally when I watch a horror movie, I post a few tweets about it on my personal twitter (@lauramarieg if you’re interested) but this movie was basically 26 short films from different directors all put into one and I didn’t want to bog my twitter down with all those tweets so I decided to write something quick about each short and post them here. I really want to start posting about all the horror movies I watch :-) 

So the idea of this movie is pretty awesome. Each filmmaker was given a letter of the alphabet and asked to choose a word. Then they made a short film about death related to that word. There really shouldn’t be TOO many spoilers here and, honestly, this review probably won’t make a lot of sense unless you’ve seen the movie or look at it as you watch the movie. This movie is on Netflix by the way! 

A- Nice opening. Definitely a little twist there.

B- Pretty good! Awkward sex but pretty good. 

C- That was interesting but like... I need answers. 

D- I’m not a fan of this one at all. I feel like there were so many things you could do with the letter D... Hitting a dog is not something I want to see whether it’s fake or not. I didn’t enjoy this one bit. 

E- I was really expecting some Spider-Man stuff there at first. This one was okay I suppose.

F- Oh my GOD. Wow. That was pretty funny. This might be my favorite one hahaha.

G- I must be missing something here. Or maybe I just looked away and missed it all because it was SO short. 

H- I... I don’t know what to say. This was bizarre from beginning to end. Definitely unlike anything I had ever seen before, I’ll give it that.

I- Girl, if I had a free hand like you have you’d best believe I would TAKE THAT GAG OUT OF MY MOUTH. That’s all I could focus on, seriously! I need more background. I NEED MORE. These shorts are leaving me with too many unanswered questions! 

J- Oh my god what is happening. I’m laughing. Also that’s totes a bald cap. But I don’t think they’re even trying to hide that... Which makes it even more awesome. 

K- Is this a cartoon? OH MY GOD IT IS. A cartoon about poop that won’t go away. Incredible.

L- Oh no this is some twisted Saw shit right here. This one is gross and disturbing y’all. I don’t like it :( I’m disgusted by this. Who tf wrote this? 

M- Oh my god no, this is not okay. This is not appropriate or clever in any way. It just upset me to be honest. 

N- Wow hahaha, pretty good. 

O- I feel like this one was trying so hard to be edgy but really it was just hard to follow and kind of irritating in my opinion. It’s like they just learned all these film tricks and they couldn’t wait to use them. 

P- NO NO NO NO this is awful. It made me angry and sad. 

Q- I like the route they’re taking with this. They’re talking about the movie IN the movie. I was wondering what they would do with the letter Q. Clever.

R- Ewww, no. I’m not really a fan of gore like this. I’m also very very confused. This is just really really disgusting. Like to me this isn’t “horror”, this is just... gross. Also it makes absolutely no sense to me. 

S- A flamethrower, nice. Also that car, nice. A pig-man who’s the grim reaper, pretty interesting. This one was pretty good. I liked it! 

T- Oh my god these creepy ass clay figures. THIS IS TERRIFYING. A little scared of my own toilet now hahaha 

U- Hmm kind of boring in my opinion but I liked the camera being the point of view of the character. 

V- Dang that action sequence tho! Pretty impressive. This is an interesting concept. This man’s voice and skull makeup are pretty ridiculous. It was over dramatic but pretty good.

W- Another one where the filmmakers are talking about the movie and it’s amazing. Like I want to be friends with these filmmakers. There’s a giant walrus. 

X- This one is just sad and gross :( Also the soundtrack stressed me out. 

Y- The soundtrack in the beginning reminds me of the Neverending Story. Then it was just the 80s in all its glory. Omg that’s butt sweat wtf are you doing you nasty. That was interesting and slightly disturbing. 

Z- Oh my GOD WHAT IS GOING ON. Like I want to hear what the filmmaker has to say about this... A girl was using her vagina to shoot vegetables across the room at another girl wearing a giant strap-on... It made me kind of uncomfortable. 

Okay if those tidbits don’t make you want to see the movie, I don’t know what will. HA.

idk i just keep thinkin abt how it was my favorite show when i was a kid... like not just i liked it a lot, but u know how when ur a kid u pick ur Favorite things & it’s a big deal, like i had Declared this as my Favorite Show

i honestly don’t rly even remember my experience with it in terms of my Feelings like i dont remember having a favorite character or anything like that, i just have a lot of Evidence of me liking it lmao like. u know those school folders they sell at like walmart that are themed after different shows n stuff, i had a yugioh one & it was cool af (i still have it actually, i’d get it to take a pic but it’s in my brother’s room & its almost 1:30 am). i remember my best friend at the time (like. 3rd grade) said she hated yugioh so she would always scoff at my folder lmaooo but like i knew she was wrong so

i also got this yugioh play set for christmas once, it was like. a plastic dueling arena that u would set little monster figurines on and each player had a bunch of little orange plastic balls that they would take turns shooting at each other’s monsters until urs were the last standing, or something like that? all i have left of it are the little orange balls and a couple of the hologram projectors that went in each of the 4 corners of the arena. i wish i knew what happened to the monsters tho, bc they were actually pretty cool. there was like. a blue guy. and a gold one. i think one of them might have been the summoned skull? i think they were mostly monsters that became plot important later in the show & i’ll definitely recognize them when they show up but i haven’t gotten there yet.... im pretty sure they were basically exodia’s pals tho, like reputable monsters. the Big Boys

oh and how could i forget, i fuckin. made my own deck of cards, it’s like a bunch of cut out pieces of scrap paper that are all different sizes & i made up a bunch of monsters and drew them & my favorite part (i looked thru it the other day) is there’s a couple cards in there with just numbers on them which i assume was either meant to be added to the monsters’ attack or ur own life points, but one of them is 500 and the other is 50,000,000,000 which is absurd i literally just wrote as many zeroes as i could fit on the paper & it shows, imagine drawing that fucking card my god. i imagine that in my mind it was like, meant to be really rare & hard to get but like. the whole deck is only like 30 cards? so i guess @ whoever faces me u better fuckinnn say ur prayers

that’s all the physical evidence i can think of, but i do have some memories..... fuck i remember watching all the new eps air on saturday mornings aaaa oh man there are a few Classique moments of the show im excited to get to, not by virtue of being particularly Good but because despite having been such a big fan of the show i like barely remember anything from it at all, so these little bits and pieces that i do have r like. exciting. im arranging them into a bullet point list

first of all, and i may be wrong, but i stg at one point pegasus drops someone thru a trap door in his castle or smth??? or someone gets thrown out a window or Something idk why this moment stands out so much but if it doesn’t happen then i will be Very disappointed (i think it was bandit keith. get fucked)

this one’s already happened a few times but for some reason a memory that stood out to me from this show is yami yugi being like “pegasus!” in his Deep Man Voice all like >:o so i was v happy to hear that. also while im here this is pretty obvious but the way he says “previously on yugioh” at the beginning of eps is great, love it, having a blast w/ that one

one saturday there was a big two-part hour long special called “joey’s betrayal” where like idk joey has to duel yugi for Evil Reasons or something and i was SO HYPE for that special bc i was like O Shit joey’s Evil now and like. this was around the time that my sister kinda stopped wanting to get up early for saturday morning cartoons lol so she was sleeping but i was So excited for the ep & i didnt want her to miss it so i left her a note on the desk in our room for her to see that had all the info abt the episode like the title & the time it would be on so u know she could like, wake up & See it & come out n watch it, but the whole thing went by & she never woke up so i had 2 go back in there & take the note down & throw it away looooooooool. but yea so im REALLY excited to get to that episode due to its Impact

eventually i kinda lost interest in yugioh & stopped keeping up with it but obvs the show kept going on w/o me & one day i turned on the tv & it was on & it was like, tristan was trapped in the body of a teddy bear or something? & i was like wow thats weird glad i stopped watching & i never looked back but now I Am Looking & i can’t wait to get to that episode, however-old-i-was me was a Fool

this one doesn’t count but i remember thinking the theme song was SO COOL (and i was right that shit slaps so hard )& being disappointed there were no lyrics i could sing along to..... except for when it was time to d-d-d-duel ofc

FUC I JUST REMEMBERED ANOTHER THING I OWNED HOW COULD I FORGET oh my godddd it was a yugioh poster that i had on my wall for so long & i am EXTREMELY sad that i don’t have it anymore, idk why i thought i could just Throw It Out like a CLOWN, but it was like. it had yugi and friends on it (tho i think one of them might have been missing, it was either tristan or tea, also i just learned how tea’s name is spelled fuckin HUH), & yugi is like, he’s little yugi & he’s got his hands & maybe part of his face? pressed up against the “glass” (the barrier separating his world from ours, keeping him Contained), i remember this detail clearly bc i looked at it a lot and learned how to draw that effect from that specific poster... anyway the best part of the whole thing is that it came from like a scholastic book fair or something so it said in big letters “it’s time to READ!” it was SO good & im DEVASTATED i don’t have it anymore........ to gaze upon its brilliance one last time....................

anyway i think thats all my yu-gi-oh related childhood memories woah why did i type out the whole ass title like that this time damn what the fuck lmaooo
