This study attempts to profile China’s biological warfare programme (BWP), with special reference to biological weapons (BW) capabilities that exist in facilities affiliated with the defence establishment and the military. For that purpose, a wide variety of facilities affiliated with the defence establishment and with the military are reviewed and profiled. The outcome of that analysis points at 12 facilities affiliated with the defence establishment, plus 30 facilities affiliated with the PLA, that are involved in research, development, production, testing or storage of BW. This huge alignment might be regarded as superfluous, ostensibly; yet, considering the various factors discussed in the present study, the overall derived picture of the Chinese BW-related alignment is not at all surprising. The chances that an outstanding state like China would ignore new avenues of BW designing and deployment are a priori slim, if any. China, in all likelihood, is and will persist as a paramount BW possessor.

A SARS-like cluster of circulating bat coronaviruses shows potential for human emergence (2015)

The emergence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS)-CoV underscores the threat of cross-species transmission events leading to outbreaks in humans. Here we examine the disease potential of a SARS-like virus, SHC014- CoV, which is currently circulating in Chinese horseshoe bat populations1. Using the SARS-CoV reverse genetics system2, we generated and characterized a chimeric virus expressing the spike of bat coronavirus SHC014 in a mouse-adapted SARS-CoV backbone. The results indicate that group 2b viruses encoding the SHC014 spike in a wild-type backbone can efficiently use multiple orthologs of the SARS receptor human angiotensin converting enzyme II (ACE2), replicate efficiently in primary human airway cells and achieve in vitro titers equivalent to epidemic strains of SARS-CoV. Additionally, in vivo experiments demonstrate replication of the chimeric virus in mouse lung with notable pathogenesis. Evaluation of available SARS-based immune-therapeutic and prophylactic modalities revealed poor efficacy; both monoclonal antibody and vaccine approaches failed to neutralize and protect from infection with CoVs using the novel spike protein. On the basis of these findings, we synthetically re-derived an infectious full-length SHC014 recombinant virus and demonstrate robust viral replication both in vitro and in vivo. Our work suggests a potential risk of SARS-CoV re-emergence from viruses currently circulating in bat populations.

The spike (S) protein appears to be a major pathogenic factor that contributes to the unique pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2. Although the S protein is a surface transmembrane type 1 glycoprotein, it has been predicted to be translocated into the nucleus due to the novel nuclear localization signal (NLS) “PRRARSV”, which is absent from the S protein of other coronaviruses. Indeed, S proteins translocate into the nucleus in SARS-CoV-2-infected cells. To our surprise, S mRNAs also translocate into the nucleus. S mRNA colocalizes with S protein, aiding the nuclear translocation of S mRNA. While nuclear translocation of nucleoprotein (N) has been shown in many coronaviruses, the nuclear translocation of both S mRNA and S protein reveals a novel pathogenic feature of SARS-CoV-2.

Unnaturalness in the evolution process of the SARS-CoV-2 variants and the possibility of deliberate natural selection

Over the past three years, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has repeatedly experienced pandemics, generating various mutated variants ranging from Alpha to Omicron. In this study, we aimed to clarify the evolutionary processes leading to the formation of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variants, focusing on Omicron variants with many amino acid mutations in the spike protein among SARS-CoV-2 isolates. To determine the order in which the mutations leading to the formation of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variants, we compared the sequences of 129 Omicron BA.1-related isolates, 141 BA.1.1-related isolates, and 122 BA.2-related isolates, and tried to dissolve the evolutionary processes of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variants, including the order of mutations leading to the formation of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variants and the occurrence of homologous recombination. As a result, we concluded that the formations of a part of Omicron isolates BA.1, BA.1.1, and BA.2 were not the products of genome evolution as is commonly observed in nature, such as the accumulation of mutations and homologous recombinations. Furthermore, the study of 35 recombinant isolates of Omicron variants BA.1 and BA.2, confirmed that Omicron variants were already present in 2020. The analysis we have shown here is that the Omicron variants are formed by an entirely new mechanism that cannot be explained by previous biology, and knowing the way how the SARS-CoV-2 variants were formed prompts a reconsideration of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

These documents include the initial grant application, biosketches, budgets and annual reports to the NIH from EcoHealth Alliance. Origen de este día dedicado a los murciélagos

La organización Bat Conservation International tuvo la iniciativa de crear este día, con la finalidad de centrar esfuerzos en la protección de las diferentes especies de murciélagos.

Esta organización se fundó en el año 1982 por un grupo de científicos, sensibilizados por la vulnerabilidad y peligro crítico de estas especies, tomando en cuenta el papel fundamental que juegan los murciélagos en nuestro planeta.

Con ello pretenden cambiar la perspectiva existente sobre los murciélagos, alentando a las personas a ayudar a protegerlos, ante la disminución sustancial de estas especies en el mundo.

Te invitamos a conocer un poco más sobre estos mamíferos voladores nocturnos, tan polémicos para los seres humanos e importantes para el medio ambiente.

Acerca de los murciélagos

Los quirópteros (Chiroptera), conocidos comúnmente como murciélagos, son mamíferos placentarios capaces de volar, cuyas extremidades superiores se desarrollaron como alas. El orden Chiroptera es uno de los más diversos entre los mamíferos, solo después del grupo de los roedores.

Actualmente se conocen unas 1.250 especies de murciélagos, distribuidas en todos los continentes y ecosistemas del mundo, exceptuando la Antártida.

El 70% de las especies son insectívoras y el resto son frugívoras. Un mínimo porcentaje se alimenta de pequeños vertebrados (roedores, ranas, aves, peces). La especie o subfamilia de vampiros (Desmodontinae) se alimenta de sangre.

Son animales nocturnos, que poseen un sentido de la vista muy limitado. Sin embargo, pueden ser capaces de orientarse y localizar alimentos y evadir obstáculos, mediante un desarrollado sistema de ultrasonidos de alta frecuencia, el cual es inaudible para los seres humanos.

Suelen habitar en árboles y cavernas, también se refugian en grietas de paredes rocosas y troncos huecos.

Los murciélagos son receptores naturales de numerosos virus: virus de Marburgo, Nipah, Ébola y los coronavirus SARS, MERS y el nuevo SARS CoV-2. A pesar de ser transmisores de estas enfermedades mortales a otras especies, se mantienen sanos gracias a su sistema inmunológico único. Ello es debido a su alta temperatura corporal y a los elevados niveles de interferón antiviral.

El color de su pelaje varía de acuerdo a la especie: pardo, gris, rojo, amarillo y negro. Su tamaño depende igualmente de su especie: desde 29-33 mm de longitud, con un peso de 2g (murciélago moscardón) hasta 1,5 m de longitud y 1,2 kg de peso (zorro volador filipino).

Entre sus hábitos alimenticios se destacan el consumo de insectos y otros artrópodos, fruta, polen, néctar, flores, hojas, carroña, sangre, mamíferos, peces, reptiles, anfibios y aves.

Estos animales juegan un papel importante desde el punto de vista ecológico, contribuyendo al equilibrio del medio ambiente:

Son polinizadores de muchas especies de plantas y flores.

Ayudan a mitigar las poblaciones de insectos y pequeños vertebrados, controlando de esta manera las plagas de la agricultura, mosquitos y otros insectos.

Contribuyen a dispersar las semillas de plantas tropicales. Por ejemplo, en México los murciélagos promueven la regeneración de las selvas, dispersando las semillas de las plantas pioneras.

Mitos y creencias acerca de los murciélagos ¿Verdad o difamación?

El murciélago ha sido catalogado tradicionalmente como un animal maléfico, espeluznante, dañino y peligroso, siendo objeto de creencias populares, mitos y prejuicios por parte de la sociedad occidental.

A los murciélagos se les ha tildado de animales siniestros debido a sus hábitos nocturnos, como ver en la oscuridad. Ellos se orientan durante la noche mediante un sistema de ecolocación, visualizando los objetos gracias a sonidos de baja frecuencia.

Son considerados un símbolo clásico en las películas de terror, asociándolos con los vampiros mitológicos que aterrorizan a sus víctimas para succionar su sangre. Al respecto, solo existen 3 especies hematófagas que se nutren únicamente con sangre: el vampiro común (desmodus rotundus), el vampiro de patas peludas (diphylla ecaudata) y el vampiro de alas blancas (diaemus youngi).

En cambio, en países como China constituyen un símbolo de felicidad y provecho.

Esta mala reputación de los murciélagos ha ocasionado agresiones por parte de las personas y la destrucción progresiva de su hábitat, encontrándose en franco peligro de extinción.

Unido a ello, el origen de la pandemia del coronavirus fue vinculado con los murciélagos por ser receptores naturales de virus, entre ellos el SARS, MERS y el nuevo SARS CoV-2, generando un profundo rechazo contra esta especie.

Lo que no sabías de los murciélagos

Conoce algunos datos curiosos e interesantes sobre los murciélagos.

Los murciélagos son los únicos animales vertebrados capaces de volar, junto con las aves.

La mayoría de los murciélagos tienen solo una cría al año, siendo proclives a la extinción de la especie.

Son animales longevos. Algunas especies pueden vivir más de los 30 años.

Son transmisores de zoonosis rábica, a través del contacto con la salida infectada por mordeduras y arañazos, con riesgo de mortalidad en caso de aparecer los síntomas.

Pueden volar a velocidades de hasta 60 mph.

Los murciélagos frugívoros consumen la cereza del arbusto de café, dejando intacto el grano en su estómago, el cual es recolectado de las heces. Con este grano se elabora un producto (café molido) conocido como Kopi Luwak, que proviene de Indonesia, Bali, Filipinas y Vietnam ¡Se vende en un precio estimado de 400 dólares el kilo!

El excremento producido por los murciélagos se denomina guano en algunos países, siendo considerado como un excelente abono para el campo.

Podemos contribuir a la preservación de los murciélagos, realizando campañas informativas y educativas sobre los beneficios que ofrecen estos animales, evitando el uso de pesticidas, colocando trozos de fruta para alimentarlos e instalando cajas-refugio en lugares donde haya escasez de refugios naturales.

The "lab leak" theory of Covid-19's emergence is getting some new traction lately due to the release of a new government report, but I wanted to take a look at the science side of determining where a disease comes from.

Specifically, I want to look at the accusation that, because it's taken so long to figure out the origin of Covid-19, there must be something nefarious going on.

Obviously we can't rule it out, but the fact that it's three years later and we still have no certainty as to the origins of our pandemic virus is nothing special in science. It took 20 years to figure out where HIV came from, 5 years for MERS (maybe), 14 years for SARS, and we still have no idea where Ebola originated about a half century after its emergence.

So the caution I want to give to everyone, as a scientist, is this:

Don't jump to conclusions just because we haven't found a definitive origin for Covid-19 yet. This kind of thing takes time, often a decade or more. Focus on the actual evidence in front of you instead of how long it's taking or what you don't know yet and remember that the people who are telling you to do otherwise aren't trying to find the truth, they're trying to push a political agenda.

As I mentioned, I'm writing this because of a large to-do over the Department of Energy joining the FBI in assessing that the "lab leak" theory is more likely than the "natural origin" theory. Of course, it should be noted that most other government agencies involved in understanding the issue disagree, favoring the "natural origin" theory, and that even the Department of Energy has "low confidence" in its assessment (the FBI, for its part, has "moderate confidence" in its assessment).

I do note that most news sources reporting this story aren't reporting those caveats or, if they are, they are burying it several paragraphs deep. As I said: politics, not science.

Inhaled Ethanol as a possible Covid sterilization technique?

Abstract

Inhaled administration of ethanol in the early stages of COVID-19 would favor its location on the initial replication sites, being able to reduce the progression of the disease and improving its prognosis. Before evaluating the efficacy and safety of this novel therapeutic strategy in humans, its characterization is required. The developed 65° ethanol formulation is stable at room temperature and protected from light for 15 days, maintaining its physicochemical and microbiological properties. Two oxygen flows have been tested for its administration (2 and 3 L/min) using an automated headspace gas chromatographic analysis technique (HS-GC-MS), with that of 2 L/min being the most appropriate one, ensuring the inhalation of an ethanol daily dose of 33.6 ± 3.6 mg/min and achieving more stable concentrations during the entire treatment (45 min). Under these conditions of administration, the formulation has proven to be safe, based on histological studies of the respiratory tracts and lungs of rats. On the other hand, these results are accompanied by the first preclinical molecular imaging study with radiolabeled ethanol administered by this route. The current ethanol formulation has received approval from the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices for a phase II clinical trial for early-stage COVID-19 patients, which is currently in the recruitment phase (ALCOVID-19; EudraCT number: 2020-001760-29).

March 13, 2020 Possibility of Disinfection of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) in Human Respiratory Tract by Controlled Ethanol Vapor Inhalation

Viruses such as SARS-CoV-2 and Influenza are lipophilic, enveloped viruses, and are relatively easy to inactivate by exposure to alcohols. The envelope mainly consists of the lipid bilayer, taken from the host cells at assembly/budding stage of the viral life cycle. Therefore the constitution of the lipid bilayer should be common in all SARS, MERS and influenza viruses, even after mutations, and thus these closely-related viruses will be disinfected by exposure to ethanol with the same concentration. Existing experimental data indicate that an ethanol concentration of 30~40 v/v% is sufficient to inactivate Influenza-A viruses in solution[1,2,3].

The author suggests that it may be possible to use alcoholic beverages of 16~20 v/v% concentration for this disinfection process, such as Whisky (1:1 hot water dilution) or Japanese Sake, because they are readily available and safe (non-toxic). By inhaling the alcohol vapor at 50~60°C (122~140°F) through the nose for one or two minutes, it will condense on surfaces inside the respiratory tract; mainly in the nasal cavity. The alcohol concentration will be intensified to ~36 v/v% by this process, which is enough to disinfect the corona virus on the mucous membrane. In this situation, our respiratory tract essentially works as an alcohol distillation apparatus (a condenser). This method also provides more moisture into respiratory tract, and helps to clean the inside of the nasal cavity by stimulating blowing of the nose, and also makes the mucous escalator work actively so that the self-clearing mechanism in the trachea will remove viruses faster.

An alternative prompt method is also discussed. We use 40 v/v% whisky or similar alcohol, dripping on a gauze, inhale the vapor slowly at room temperature. This method works well for the front part of the nasal cavity. This is suitable for clinical workers, because they may need to use prompt preventative measures at any time.

Introduction

This study aims to identify if we could use Ethyl Alcohol inhalation combined with asprin in early stages of COVID-19 infection to improve oxygenation and prognosis, decrease severity of the disease, decrease hospital stay and rate of transfer of the patients from word to ICU and risk of mechanical ventilation.

Theory of Asprin

Aspirin is well known drug with various Pharmacological effects; Anti-platelet, Anti- inflammatory aspirin can inhibit viral replication through Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) inhibition in macrophage and increasing production of type I interferon. Furthermore, aspirin possess anti-inflammatory and analgesic actions due to inhibiting COX enzyme. The early use of aspirin in COVID-19 patients could reduce incidence of disease severity, reduce hospital duration and reduce incidence of cardiovascular complications [1-4] analgesic effects. Moreover, aspirin was proved to possess an antiviral action for some viruses through inhibiting viral replication. Noteworthy, a study confirmed.

Theory of Alcohol Inhalation

COVID-19 virus contains genetic material Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) packaged in a protein coat called the capsid, which is surrounded by an envelope composed of a lipid bilayer derived from the host cell membrane. Ethyl alcohol is known to inactivate many viruses and constitutes the basis for many hand rubs and disinfectants used in healthcare settings [5] as well as in the general public. In fact, alcohol-based hand rub solutions have been shown to inactivate SARS-CoV-2 in as little as 30 seconds [6,7]. Siddharta et al. [8] also published data on the effective virucidal activity of ethyl alcohol against enveloped viruses, including Zika, Ebola, as well as coronaviruses.

As late as the 1950s, inhaled Ethanol was found to be both effective and safe in the treatment of pulmonary edema [9,10] as well as Ethyl alcohol withdrawal [11]. In a recent publication by Shintake [12], inhaled ethanol was proposed as a potential method of inactivating respiratory viruses, such as SARS-CoV-2 present in the respiratory tract. While chronic or excessive ethanol consumption is known to have negative effects on human health, including the immune system [13], the effects of intermittent moderate ethanol consumption have not been proven to cause serious long-term deleterious effects.

To date, extensive search of the medical literature reveals no reports of inhaled ethanol used in the treatment of COVID-19. Given the lack of a proven effective treatment, the proven viricidal efficacy of ethanol, its historical relative safety profile in treatment of other medical conditions, as well as a lack of evidence showing harm in mild to moderate, non-chronic, nonexcessive intake, the hypothesis was proposed that nebulized ethanol may prove beneficial in the treatment of COVID-19.

Discovery of a novel merbecovirus cDNA clone contaminating agricultural rice sequencing datasets from Wuhan, China Abstract

HKU4-related coronaviruses are a group of betacoronaviruses belonging to the same merbecovirus subgenus as Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), which causes severe respiratory illness in humans with a mortality rate of over 30%. The high genetic similarity between HKU4-related coronaviruses and MERS-CoV makes them an attractive subject of research for modeling potential zoonotic spillover scenarios. In this study, we identify a novel coronavirus contaminating agricultural rice RNA sequencing datasets from Wuhan, China. The datasets were generated by the Huazhong Agricultural University in early 2020. We were able to assemble the complete viral genome sequence, which revealed that it is a novel HKU4-related merbecovirus. The assembled genome is 98.38% identical to the closest known full genome sequence, Tylonycteris pachypus bat isolate BtTp-GX2012. Using in silico modeling, we identified that the novel HKU4-related coronavirus spike protein likely binds to human dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4), the receptor used by MERS-CoV. We further identified that the novel HKU4-related coronavirus genome has been inserted into a bacterial artificial chromosome in a format consistent with previously published coronavirus infectious clones. Additionally, we have found a near complete read coverage of the spike gene of the MERS-CoV reference strain HCoV-EMC/2012, and identify the likely presence of a HKU4-related-MERS chimera in the datasets. Our findings contribute to the knowledge of HKU4-related coronaviruses and document the use of a previously unpublished HKU4 reverse genetics system in apparent MERS-CoV related gain-of-function research. Our study also emphasizes the importance of improved biosafety protocols in sequencing centers and coronavirus research facilities.

Origen de este día dedicado a los murciélagos

La organización Bat Conservation International tuvo la iniciativa de crear este día, con la finalidad de centrar esfuerzos en la protección de las diferentes especies de murciélagos.

Esta organización se fundó en el año 1982 por un grupo de científicos, sensibilizados por la vulnerabilidad y peligro crítico de estas especies, tomando en cuenta el papel fundamental que juegan los murciélagos en nuestro planeta.

Con ello pretenden cambiar la perspectiva existente sobre los murciélagos, alentando a las personas a ayudar a proteger a los murciélagos, ante la disminución sustancial de estas especies en el mundo.

Acerca de los murciélagos

Los quirópteros (Chiroptera), conocidos comúnmente como murciélagos, son mamíferos placentarios capaces de volar, cuyas extremidades superiores se desarrollaron como alas. El orden Chiroptera es uno de los más diversos entre los mamíferos, solo después del grupo de los roedores.

Actualmente se conocen unas 1.250 especies de murciélagos, distribuidas en todos los continentes y ecosistemas del mundo, exceptuando la Antártida.

El 70% de las especies son insectívoras y el resto son frugívoras. Un mínimo porcentaje se alimenta de pequeños vertebrados (roedores, ranas, aves, peces). La especie o subfamilia de vampiros (Desmodontinae) se alimenta de sangre.

Son animales nocturnos, que poseen un sentido de la vista muy limitado. Sin embargo, pueden ser capaces de orientarse y localizar alimentos y evadir obstáculos, mediante un desarrollado sistema de ultrasonidos de alta frecuencia, el cual es inaudible para los seres humanos.

Suelen habitar en árboles y cavernas, también se refugian en grietas de paredes rocosas y troncos huecos.

Los murciélagos son receptores naturales de numerosos virus: virus de Marburgo, Nipah, Ébola y los coronavirus SARS, MERS y el nuevo SARS CoV-2. A pesar de ser transmisores de estas enfermedades mortales a otras especies, se mantienen sanos gracias a su sistema inmunológico único. Ello es debido a su alta temperatura corporal y a los elevados niveles de interferón antiviral.

El color de su pelaje varía de acuerdo a la especie: pardo, gris, rojo, amarillo y negro. Su tamaño depende igualmente de su especie: desde 29-33 mm de longitud, con un peso de 2g (murciélago moscardón) hasta 1,5 m de longitud y 1,2 kg de peso (zorro volador filipino).

Entre sus hábitos alimenticios se destacan el consumo de insectos y otros artrópodos, fruta, polen, néctar, flores, hojas, carroña, sangre, mamíferos, peces, reptiles, anfibios y aves.

Estos animales juegan un papel importante desde el punto de vista ecológico, contribuyendo al equilibrio del medio ambiente:

Son polinizadores de muchas especies de plantas y flores.

Ayudan a mitigar las poblaciones de insectos y pequeños vertebrados, controlando de esta manera las plagas de la agricultura, mosquitos y otros insectos.

Contribuyen a dispersar las semillas de plantas tropicales. Por ejemplo, en México los murciélagos promueven la regeneración de las selvas, dispersando las semillas de las plantas pioneras.

Mitos y creencias acerca de los murciélagos ¿Verdad o difamación?

El murciélago ha sido catalogado tradicionalmente como un animal maléfico, espeluznante, dañino y peligroso, siendo objeto de creencias populares, mitos y prejuicios por parte de la sociedad occidental.

A los murciélagos se les ha tildado de animales siniestros debido a sus hábitos nocturnos, como ver en la oscuridad. Ellos se orientan durante la noche mediante un sistema de ecolocación, visualizando los objetos gracias a sonidos de baja frecuencia.

Son considerados un símbolo clásico en las películas de terror, asociándolos con los vampiros mitológicos que aterrorizan a sus víctimas para succionar su sangre. Al respecto, solo existen 3 especies hematófagas que se nutren únicamente con sangre: el vampiro común (desmodus rotundus), el vampiro de patas peludas (diphylla ecaudata) y el vampiro de alas blancas (diaemus youngi).

En cambio, en países como China constituyen un símbolo de felicidad y provecho.

Esta mala reputación de los murciélagos ha ocasionado agresiones por parte de las personas y la destrucción progresiva de su hábitat, encontrándose en franco peligro de extinción.

Unido a ello, el origen de la actual pandemia del coronavirus ha sido vinculado con los murciélagos por ser receptores naturales de virus, entre ellos el SARS, MERS y el nuevo SARS CoV-2, generando un profundo rechazo contra esta especie.

Lo que no sabías de los murciélagos

Los murciélagos son los únicos animales vertebrados capaces de volar, junto con las aves.

Los murciélagos frugívoros consumen la cereza del arbusto de café, dejando intacto el grano en su estómago, el cual es recolectado de las heces. Con este grano se elabora un producto (café molido) conocido como Kopi Luwak, que proviene de Indonesia, Bali, Filipinas y Vietnam ¡Se vende en un precio estimado de 400 dólares el kilo!

El excremento producido por los murciélagos se denomina guano en algunos países, siendo considerado como un excelente abono para el campo.

Podemos contribuir a la preservación de los murciélagos, realizando campañas informativas y educativas sobre los beneficios que ofrecen estos animales, evitando el uso de pesticidas, colocando trozos de fruta para alimentarlos e instalando cajas-refugio en lugares donde haya escasez de refugios naturales.

Si algún murciélago entra por accidente a tu hogar no lo mates, simplemente sácalo del lugar sin lastimarlo utilizando guantes gruesos o toallas.

Il m'arrive (et je ne dois pas être le seul !) de me demander si nous ne vivons pas des jours aussi remplis de monstres, de démons, de dragons (revus à une sauce dite ARN mensonger), de guerres qui n'en sont pas, qui pourraient éclater ou pas, quoique, etc... et de disparition des populations : notre temps ayant inventé l'infanticide légal in utero et s'apprêtant à légaliser l'euthanasie... plus de bébés, en France ni en Europe et, partant, plus aucun français, à terme, hors de pseudo-français ''administratifs'', sur le papier. Le processus est très largement engagé : l'Europe ne se reproduit plus, déjà. Mais tout le monde s'en fout : on regarde ailleurs, en disant ''c'est pas grave'' !

Un retour sur image s'impose ici : une étrange prophétie d'Ezéchiel (Ez. XXXVIII) montre un prince du nom de Gog, au pays de Magog, se mettant à la tête d'une coalition des peuples du Nord (serait-ce le premier nom de l'Europe ?) contre Dieu. Les noms Gog et Magog apparaissent plusieurs fois dans la Bible et dans le Coran, toujours en lien avec une grande bataille qui annoncera le retour du Messie. Côté ''civilisation judéo-chrétienne'', on cite le livre d'Ezechiel (où les peuplades païennes de Magog représentent métaphoriquement les forces du Mal), et l'Apocalypse de Saint Jean, qui parle du combat final (dit : la bataille d'Armageddon) entre le Bien et le Mal, à la fin des temps, lors de la parousie de Jesus-Christ. Ces symboles forts mais troubles, sont souvent confondus avec les ''Quatre cavaliers de l'Apocalypse'', symboles du combat eschatologique entre le Bien et le Mal.

Du côté ''monde islamique'', on parle de ''la mère des batailles'' (Oum al-Harb), qui verra la victoire et l'avènement d'al-Mahdi, ''le douzième Imam'' qui engagera une lutte terrible, avec son armée de partisans fidèles prêts au sacrifice, en un temps où ''le monde sera plongé dans l'injustice et la tyrannie''. Pour l'islam en effet, l'histoire est une lutte constante entre, d'une part, les forces du bien, de la vertu et de l'amour d'Allah, de la justice, de la foi, de l'égalité, du sacrifice, de la pensée correcte, de la pureté et de la vérité, et d'autre part, celles du faux et du mal, de l'égoïsme, du matérialisme, de l'injustice, de l'incroyance, de la discrimination, de la corruption, de la violation des droits des autres.

La bataille finale, qu'annonce une prophétie confortée par un Hadith, aura lieu près de la ville actuellement syrienne de Dabiq où, menacée par une horde d'infidèles, l'armée des musulmans, commandée par le Christ ressuscité (Je n'y peux rien : je raconte ce qui est écrit), est décimée mais finit par triompher. Le polythéisme, les mythes, l'injustice et la corruption s'effondreront alors, et la croyance en Allah, la Vérité et la Justice triompheront. Une société islamique (?) idéale (?) sera établie sur la terre, sous l'égide d'un gouvernement idéal (re- ?) : ''Un gouvernement mondial caractérisé par la justice et la droiture sera instauré. Il s'étendra de l'Est à l'Ouest. Tous les hommes vivront sous ce gouvernement dans un climat de paix, de justice et de prospérité. Le Gouvernement Divin établi après la chute des autres systèmes, réalisera les objectifs désirés. Bien qu'il soit d'une durée limitée, il sera le dernier mot dans la justice et la droiture. Il sera la fin de l'histoire''.

La situation dans laquelle nous sommes, à cet instant ''T'', est tellement grave (dans absolument tous les domaines) que le temps serait peut-être venu de se demander si nous ne revivrions pas --mutatis mutandis-- un moment iso-apocalyptique : en cinq ou six toutes petites très longues années, tout est renversé, saccagé, cul par dessus tête : les ''Quatre cavaliers de l'Apocalypse'', qui symbolisent la guerre, la famine, la maladie et la mort (et pas Lemaire, Mélenchon, Darmanin et Macron, comme certains le prétendent), rôdent autour de nous, encouragés et soutenus par les instances officielles. Ce ne ne sont certes pas les seuls dangers qui guettent l'humanité, nous le répétons souvent (au grand dam de ceux qui n'aiment pas qu'on appelle ''chat'', un chat), mais peut-on honnêtement échapper à l'idée générale que ''rien n'est plus comme avant'', que ''tout est chamboulé'' ou que ''on ne sait plus où on va'' ?

N'oublions pas que l'immense ''bataille d'Armageddon'', cet ''épisode final de la guerre entre Dieu et les gouvernements humains'', est annoncée depuis la plus haute antiquité : le Prophète Daniel (VIIè siècle av. JC) avait eu l'intuition d'une rivalité (que nous croyons moderne et récente et que nous attribuons, un peu vite, aux ''Lumières'') entre Dieu et les plus orgueilleuses de ses créatures. Et le Psaume 2:2 ( VI è siècle av. JC) racontait déjà que les gouvernements et tous leurs partisans s’opposent à Dieu, à qui ils refusent de se soumettre...

Or dans un livre récent, ''Bio Essay'', deux chercheurs de l’Université de technologie de Singapour, Kang Hao Cheong et Michael Jones, voient aujourd'hui, quatre conditions facilement observables qui poussent notre civilisation vers une autodestruction maso-pathologique possible. Ces néo- ''cavaliers de l'Apocalypse'' qui menacent l’humanité seraient, disent ces chercheurs : la surpopulation, la mondialisation, l’hyperconnectivité, et l'attrition du nombre de chaînes d'approvisionnement (''qui faciliterait la transmission de maladies contagieuses, donc des crises sanitaires majeures'').La tragi-comédie du covid, ''qui a dévoilé de graves failles dans la dynamique mondiale, la gouvernance et la santé publique'' serait, selon ces chercheurs, un exemple des catastrophes qui pourraient frapper l’humanité, comme une ''Apocalypse 2.0''.

Car franchement, qui aurait pu penser que les rodomontades, dites ''sanctions'', déchaînées (contre nous, bien plus que contre la Russie !) par les Rambos de nos Palais nationaux allaient si vite foutre par terre nos économies, nos structures, nos systèmes et nos sauvegardes ? Ah ! les cons ! Un an plus tard... nous sommes coincés dans des engrenages de catastrophes imprévues... sans possibilité d'interruption ni ''de passer notre tour''.... et ayant perdu tout espoir de gagner cette guerre, malgré les torrents d'éloquence vide de toute raison de notre personnel –très nul !

La crise actuelle aurait, selon toute logique, dû amener une prise de conscience collective et une remise en question du système, afin d’empêcher que des catastrophes encore plus graves ne se produisent.... question qui nous ramène à notre sujet du jour : Que pourraient représenter de nos jours les symboles portés par Gog et Magog ? Devant l'urgence dramatique de ces questions angoissées, je reviens, comme rituellement, à ma vieille idée : ''La folie est sortie des asiles''... Et la réponse se précise, avec le temps qui passe : c'est ''Oui'' !
