I just had a thought, if the situation was reversed for the 'Kellabor rains' story (Kanai finding an orphaned human child), I feel like it wouldn't end as well for them

Kanai have strict rules about not killing creatures that are too young, and on top of that a human child doesn't pose much threat. Finding a hunter on your territory too close to your den is one thing. Finding a sad helpless baby human abandoned in the woods is a different matter entirely.

I doubt most Kanai could bring themselves to hurt a human child, no matter how little they think of humans. They would at least escort a baby to the nearest human settlement.

Just anecdotally/off the top of your head, what percentage do you think is typical these days for non responses on submissions to editors from an agent? I have a feeling my agent’s very high ghost rate is above average even though I know some non response is to be expected. Thanks!

I guess it depends -- Let's say I sent to... 20 people. I could EASILY see half of them not responding quickly at all -- so, 50%. But are they TRULY non-responses? Or are they just insanely slow? Will they communicate eventually, like if push comes to shove? Probably. Like, if I ended up getting an offer or going to auction, I'm betting I'd hear from most of these -- mmaaaaaybe 1 or 2 would remain non-responsive. So, 5-10%.
