I didn’t include this in my original post because, again, I was focusing on book (and MTKay’s) Wen Kexing that doesn’t have a fan. But it’s a cool shot and after stewing on it for a while, I think this is probably what a hybrid of book and show Lao Wen would look like. So out into the world it goes. May Gong Jun grant me his cheekbones in the future for other photoshoots if it comes down to that.

In the mood for some sad-spooky han ying feels? Well look no further!

And @mtkay13 did some amazingly eerie art to go along with it!!

The inside of the armory is mostly made up of these labyrinthine paths, burrowing through the mountain like veins. There is no discernible order to them, except that the hallways keep growing taller and taller, narrow and seeming to almost stretch into the black unknown. Multiple times the gloom is interrupted by thin shafts of light, though the small fissures in the ceilings are often too small to catch a glimpse of the true sky outside.

also I saw u talk about a TYK translation and was wondering, which one you would recommend for new readers of the story ? 🥹 I've already read a good amount but I saw u say one of them portrays ZZS more serious and wanted to know which translation u think portrays his character better(?) , and if it's one that's still available for me to read as well !

So to answer your question directly first, I think that Lianzi's translation is undeniably the most faithful to the original in terms of meaning and tone. It is only 40% done however, as Lianzi has translated up to chapter 30 so far. I will always, always, always go wild over beefy ZZS (shoutout to @mtkay13 )! I don't know if I see it a lot but, whenever I do see it, I go crazy because I really enjoy the idea that ZZS is tall and buff. It goes against the stereotypical 'here's what a bottom should look like!' which ties into how well priest subverts tropes in TYK and ahhh I love it!

14. the ship that always makes you smile

As a surprise to absolutely no one, WENZHOU. Thinking about those two weirdos makes me very happy. Oh and also Yiwei. I've continued my Rise of Phoenixes rewatch and every time those two go back and forth with each other, I find myself grinning like an idiot lol

17. the thing in canon that everyone loves and that you also love

The "did I ever tell you I like men?" line from WKX after ZZS' face reveal. The "are you sincere?" scene before the Mt. Fengya battle. ZZS drawing erotic stick figures for Scorpion King. WKX sneaking into ZZS' room at night. And many such other things (damn I need to reread TYK again lol)
