it's almost funny, if you squint at it sideways—because if anyone would absolutely lose the plot, it’s mycroft, the king of cold comfort and secret disasters.

It's really so sad that even deep inside, pretty much on the brink of death, Sherlock doesn't realise how much Mycroft would cry.

Can you guys fucking imagine tho? If Sherlock really died? His brother would probably blame himself for it, no matter the cause of Sherlock's death. Like I'm so glad they actually planned Reichenbach together cuz man wouldn't have survived those 3 years before Sherlock came back.

Mycroft was literally ready to die for him! He was concerned for him from day 1 and it's just really sad that Sherlock couldn't see it.

In ASIP Mycroft thinks that Sherlock "certainly" views him as an enemy, when in reality Sherlock is hostile because he idolises Mycroft to the point that he desperately tries to match him, and feels inadequate. (Mycroft is the most dangerous man anyone could ever meet, according to Sherlock.)

Sherlock, on the other hand, makes a sarcastic remark that he’s been hearing about Mycroft’s concern. Sherlock could not doubt that Mycroft genuinely worries about him, but he thinks that he’s a constant disappointment to him; Mycroft is concerned about him because he is his younger brother, not because he values him as a person.

But they cannot completely fool themselves.

Oh God, I recently found a recording of Dracula as a sort of roleplay audiobook (Idk if I'm making sense???) and Mark voiced Dracula. It took me some time to realise it was him bc of the accent, but then I couldn't unhear it. He did so well tho (as he does). So like this art is just *aggressive Italian hand movement*, you know?

I always find it funny that in ACD Sherlock is the energetic people's sibling who is nice to the idiots he is surrounded by and sort of stokes peoples ego and Mycroft is the lazy smarter sibling who doesn't talk to people much and basically isolates himself comp and would rather be considered wrong than actually proving anything

and in BBC Sherlock is very straight up and OH use your minds and rude and House-like honest a lot of times and doesn't really care about boring things like people's feelings and Mycroft is like Hi I can kill you this instant with only a blink of my eye that is my power but I' just have a minor british position alr Sherlock stop telling people I'm the govt now you better be very good to my baby brother who doesn't like boring things like eating sleeping or caring about whether you want to kill him bc he won't smile and play nice with you.

I mean it changes which of them care to people around and honestly I love both versions sm so in my mind Sherlock likes to decide whether he will do the boring being nice to people thing and Mycroft looks at people and is like well I don't feel like killing him yet lets give him a i will kill you smile and see if he's worth being around Sherlock and
