Be Careful Putting Your Phone Down At Panera Bread Locations

I noticed my phone buzzing repeatedly when I'd have it open on the table at Panera, and on further review I realized that my phone was repeatedly scanning an NFC tag on the underside of the table. I'm assuming the servers use these as a shorthand way of confirming that food has been delivered to the correct table.

This is all well and good; this is a prime use case for NFC tags, and using an NFC reader app I was able to see that they're just basic numeric codes. As long as the tags aren't rewritable by anyone, they're not a security risk.

The NFC tags at Panera Bread are rewritable. Like, easily. Using a simple app you can get from the Google Play Store.

What this means is that someone can rewrite the NFC tags to redirect to a download link for malware, or a phishing website, or any number of other attack vectors.

I have more information about this issue on my personal website, as well as a video demonstrating the effect. My recommendation is to keep NFC turned off on your phone unless and until you're actively using it (for touchless payments, bus tickets, etc.).

Why is the related posts section of your website showing posts from other people's websites?

There are a few reasons why the related posts section of your website might be showing posts from other people's websites.

Your theme or plugin might be pulling in content from other sources. Some themes and plugins are designed to aggregate content from other websites, such as RSS feeds or social media platforms. If you're using a theme or plugin that does this, it's possible that it's mistakenly including posts from other websites in your related posts section.

You might have misconfigured your related posts settings. Most themes and plugins have settings that allow you to control which posts are displayed in the related posts section. If you've accidentally configured these settings to include posts from other websites, then that's why they're showing up.

Your website might have been hacked. In some cases, hackers can inject malicious code into a website that can cause it to display unwanted content, including posts from other websites. If you think your website might have been hacked, you should contact your hosting provider or a website security specialist for help.

Here are a few things you can do to fix the problem:

Sims 4 Malicious Script Mod Advisory

We all know by now that some modders have been hacked and their script mods replaced with malicious malware. Hopefully none of my followers have been hit and if you have, I hope you've taken the necessary steps to safeguard your sensitive data. There has been a list of modders who's scripts are no longer safe to download circulating.

There are a number of ways to find out if you've been hit or not.

To quickly check if you have been compromised, press Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run window. Enter “%AppData%/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/UserData” without the quotes in the prompt and hit OK. This will open up the folder the this particular malware uses. If there is a file in this folder called “Updater.exe”, you have unfortunately fallen victim to the malware. Some sites will tell you "we don't know what it does". In reality, this updater is designed to download, install and run a data collection app. Passwords, site tracking, bank routing -- all the worst case scenarios you can dream up regarding your personal information.

So, delete the folder if you find it and grab this:
