Marasmius elegans (Marasmiaceae), an Australian wood-rotting mushroom, found singly or in groups, on forest litter or on well-rotted wood.
It has a cap up to 50 mm, convex with slight umbo, orange-brown to reddish-brown, smooth, velvety, with margin very incurved at first. The stem is slender, notable by two-toned colors, white at apex, shading to cap color (or darker) towards base. No ring, often white tuft of mycelium at base [1].
