Loves wound, loves cure
pairings: dallas winston x reader
summary: dallas winston is a stubborn man, causing a fight between the two of you. but when you come to him all beaten, it seems like the fight has long left his mind, his only concern being you.
a.n: sorry i haven’t posted in three months, i had mid years and school is really eating my ass right now!!! 😀😀🤩🤩 (math and science can go fuck themselves!!!) anyway eat this up yall cause lord knows when im posting a new fic 😭
link to part two!: https://www.tumblr.com/n1nicou/764050899921469440/loves-wound-loves-cure-pt2

"fine! don’t want me to talk?" you shouted at dallas with an angry tone before getting up from the couch and making your way to your front door.
"where ya goin'?!" dallas said as he immediately shot up from the couch, seeing you move to the front door.
"we’ll talk when i feel like talkin'!" you said as you looked back at dallas with your eyebrows furrowed together. your was blood boiling with anger, but you couldn't ignore the hint of sadness deep inside your chest.
fights between you and dallas weren’t uncommon. when you did fight, it would always be over something stupid that would end with the both of you making up. dallas never said sorry, not with his pride and ego he did, but he found other ways to apologize to you. more subtle, but obvious enough for you to pick up on. however, tonight was a different story. you and dallas had been going on and on about something he had done.
you and dallas had been at the dingo all night, which was fun for the first few hours until some broad thought it was a good idea to try and sweet talk dallas, which you obviously did not enjoy. dallas, in his end, didn’t seem to mind the lousy and annoying flirtatious comments the girl made. not that he condoned to the girl's advances or try to flirt back with her, but the occasional smirk would appear on his face which only encouraged the girl to continue.
you watched as the scene unfolded, your eyebrows furrowed together when you noticed that dallas wasn't rejecting her advances. you knew dallas liked to have his fun, tease and bother girls, but not initiating anything as you were his first real girlfriend, which was strange for him. so when you both came back to your place, after ignoring him the whole rest of the night and finally blowing up on him after he profusely kept asking you why you were acting like this, he didn’t really understand why you were so upset. to dallas, it was just harmless fun, he wouldn’t do anything with her.
so there you two were, arguing back and forth for a while before dallas’s anger got a hold of him and he yelled at you to shut up.
and this is exactly the way you found yourself in this situation, walking out of your house as you just weren't able to deal with dallas right now. as much as dallas protested, you ignored his words, your mind filled with anger and disappointment.
dallas laid down on the flimsy couch of the curtis home, a cigarette between his fingers. he tried his best to be mad at you, wondering what your damn problem was, but in the end, he couldn't help but feel the tiniest bit guilty.
the image of your angry but sad and upset face plaged dallas's mind, making him wonder if maybe he was too harsh with you. however, dallas's deep thinking was suddenly stopped when he heard the door of the curtis house slam open. dallas sat up from the couch and turned his head to the front door, expecting to see johnny coming to find refuge from his own house or a guy from the gang.
there you were, your lip busted open, your nose bleeding. open cuts and gashes trailed down from your forehead to your jaw. you were shaking violently as tears rolled down your cheeks, the saltiness burning your open wounds and broken sobs leaving your bleeding lips. with your blurry vision, you were able to see dallas, who you hadn’t expected to see at the curtis house.
dallas wasn’t sure who came up to whom first. whether you rushed to dallas first or he rushed to you first, it didn’t really matter, as dallas was now right in front of you, looking down at you with concern.
“jesus christ, the hell happened to you, y/n?!” dallas asked with an impatient and angry tone. despite his angry demeanor, dallas’s fingers reached to gently cup your chin.
you were in too much shock to even utter a single word. you looked up at dallas, eyes full of fear, as tears ran down you cheeks. you opened your mouth to try and speak, but all that came out were a few broken sobs and his name.
“d-dally…” you croaked out in a shaky voice. dallas felt his heart break at your pained voice. he soon understood that he wasn’t going to get anything out of you unless you calmed down first. dallas gently picked you up in his arms before placing you down on the flimsy leather couch. your hand tightly gripped his forearm, tears still running down your bruised and cut cheeks.
dallas thought that if he made one wrong move, you would shatter like glass. his rough and calloused hand gently cupped your cheek, looking right down at you.
"'s alright, dally's here... relax, sweet girl, i got you..." dallas whispered in a soft and gentle tone, such a gentle tone. the kind of tone he had never ever used on a single soul, not even on you before this. the kind of tone he wouldn't be caught dead using on anyone, anyone but you right now. he simply kept rubbing your cheek with his thumb, hoping that it would calm you down, as he didn't really know how to comfort someone in this situation. to be fair, dallas never really comforted many people in his life, so he tried to keep his approach gentle, not wanting to overwhelm you.
with the help of dallas's soft rubs on your cheek and gentle words, your adrenaline slowly started to dissipate. now, you could really feel all the pain from each and every bruise, gash and cut that was inflicted on you. your breaths slowed down and you slowly became more conscious of your surroundings.
"tell me what happened, sweet girl." dallas got straight to the point as soon as he noticed that you were more aware of everything now. he was itching to know who or what decided it was a good idea to hurt his girl like this.
it took you a few moments to collect your thoughts before you spoke up in a shaky tone. "i-i was walkin outside after our fight and-and this white mustang started tailing me..." dallas felt his stomach drop at your words. he didn’t need to hear the rest to get a clear thought in his head of what had happened, but he let you talk.
“i tried running or-or sum’ but they caught up to me… and i…” you tried to keep talking, but you felt as if a thorn bush was stuck in your throat, anything else other than sobs being unable to leave your mouth.
“shh, easy, y/n… ‘s alright… did they hurt you, sweet girl?” dallas asked. he already knew the answer, but he thought that maybe it would be easier if he helped you say it. you nodded your head yes before looking down at your lap, tears dripping down onto your jeans.
"fuckin' socs..." dallas felt his blood boil as you confirmed his suspicions. his fists clenched, knuckles turning white and nails digging into his palms as a strong feeling of rage took over his mind. he would kill whoever touched you, his girl, which he had made pretty clear to everyone.
but he held back, his only priority right now being you. he would deal with the unfortunate socs who thought it was a good idea to hurt you, later.
“i-im sorry, if i hadn’t been such a stubborn idiot, if i had just shut my trap like you said, none of this woulda happened…” you spoke up in your quiet and broken voice as you kept staring down at your lap. dallas immediately stopped you, tilting your head up so his eyes met yours. the guilt hit dallas like a truck. harder than ever now that were blaming yourself and excusing his behavior.
“that don’t matter anymore. it ain’t your fault, doll” the last thing on dallas’s mind was the fight you two had earlier and he didn’t want you thinking about it, nor did he want you blaming yourself for something someone else did to you. his rough fingers kept stroking your damp cheeks, feeling your whole body shake underneath his gentle touch.
"dal-dal, i'm so scared..." you croaked out as your grip on his forearm tightened. you were still in a lot of shock and pain, your body violently shaking.
dallas couldn't handle it anymore. he pulled you into his arms, bracing you with a gentle hug, afraid that if he held you any tighter, you would collapse. you tensed up in his arms, surprised at his actions, but you soon melted into his touch and buried your head into the side of his neck.
"shhh... you're safe, those fuckin' idiots are gone... s’alright sweet girl.." dallas tried to say in the most gentle tone possible, but you heard his anger slip through his comforting words.
nonetheless, you were shocked.
dallas winston, the dallas winston had you wrapped up in his arms, in a hold so so gentle as he shushed you softly. the words he said were comforting, sweet. something no single soul, not even yourself, had ever heard from this tuff, mean, violent greaser. the man who couldn't love anything, no one, was afraid to break you as he held you so delicately. slowly but surely, you felt your fear disappear. a sense of safety washed over you as he held you.
you knew you would be okay.

When Darry realized...
I wrote this yesterday and I figured I'd post it on here before I went and turned it into a full fic. If I do, it will mostly be a darbit fic and this would just be the intro. Please tell me what y'all think so I know if anyone is interested in reading more :)
Darry first realized he was different at 15 years old. He never participated in the lewd lock room talk the rest of the football team bonded over. he always made sure to keep his eyes down and not let his gaze linger too long on any of his sweaty or freshly showered teammates who milled about the locker room and various stages of undress. he never got distracted during games, ogling at the cheerleaders on the sidelines the way that most of his teammates did. His father always told him that once he got a little older, he’d develop an interest in girls and he’d become a lady’s man, just like his dad used to be. A chip off the old block.
Darry was 15 when he realized the way he thought about the boys in the locker room was the same way his father always told him he’d think about girls. A sick feeling rushed from his head to his stomach at the realization that he’d never be normal. He vowed then and there to keep this secret tucked so far inside of him that maybe it would go away.
He threw himself into football and studying. He smiled and shook hands and played nice with his classmates to make sure that they all liked him. He got straight A’s and made football captain and was voted boy of the year. Everyone just assumed that he didn’t have time for girls. He accepted an invite to the Sadie Hawkins dance from a nice girl named Susan from his math class. He picked her up at 6, kissed her on the cheek, and told her she looked pretty. His father had never been more proud.
Paul Holden was the only other sophomore on the football team. He was all golden hair and twinkling eyes and a mischievous smile that made Darry’s stomach do backflips.
After each practice, Paul would pat Darry on the back and tell him he did a good job. His hand would always linger and he’d smile as soon as he met Darry’s eyes.
They started hanging out after practice. “we’re just buddying around,” Darry would tell himself. No matter how much he told himself that Paul was just his best friend
and he didn’t think of him as anything more, that didn’t stop the pang he’d feel in his heart when Paul remembered his milkshake order at the dingo or the butterflies he got when Paul would let his hand linger on Darry’s shoulder a little too long, squeezing and rubbing out the tension in his body.there was absolutely nothing going on between him and Paul when they would wake up in Paul’s bed together after a sleepover, facing away from each other, trying so hard not to accidentally touch. Not even when Paul gifted Darry that purple and gold madras shirt for his 16th birthday.
He stopped being able to ignore it when he woke up naked and sore in the back of Paul’s car with Paul cuddled up and cramped behind him.
He knew he couldn’t hide from himself anymore when Paul pushed him against the wall and kissed him so hard he forgot that he wasn’t supposed to be doing this.
When Paul reached for the button on his pants and pushed Darry back onto his bed, he briefly let all his thoughts slip away. For just a minute, he could forget all about football and grades and taking Susan Thompson to the Sadie Hawkins dance. He could forget all about making his father proud and being a role model for his younger brothers. The only thing that mattered was Paul. Paul touching him and Paul kissing him and running his fingers through his hair. The soft words of encouragement that Paul would whisper in his ear when they were alone and were sure that no one could hear what they were doing.
Darry couldn’t quite figure out when it all fell apart. It could have been the night that his parents sat him down to tell him that college just wasn’t in the picture, even with his scholarship money. He sobbed in his mother’s arms that night. She held him close and stroked his hair, making him feel like a little kid again.
It might have been the day that Paul left for school. He stopped by Darry’s house to say goodbye, his car packed up. the back seat where he and Darry first woke up together covered in boxes.
It could have happened slowly, when daily phone calls turned to weekly and then slowly stopped all together. Darry waited by the phone for hours each night waiting for calls that never came.
It was definitely over by the time summer rolled around and Paul wouldn’t even look in Darry’s direction when they ran into each other at the drive in.
But if you ask Darry, he’ll say that something in him was still hanging on until the day his parents died. Grief stricken and confused, he called Paul. The second he heard his voice on the other end of the line he burst into tears. Paul told him that he was sorry for his loss and to never call his number again. That’s when Darry knew it was over.

WOULD YOU PRETTY PLEASE WITH A CHERRY ON TOP DO MATH NERD? SOMETHING COMPLETELY OUT OF POCKET? THANK YOU
Math Nerd
"Do you really think the kid with offers from Penn State and the USC Trojans is going to give up those offers just to play with you?" Wymack asks as he looks at Kevin who is, again, watching the video of the Millport Dingos claim the State Championship under the leadership of Neil Josten.
"He hasn't said yes to either of them so yes there is a chance." Kevin says, "His play style feels like my own so I think he's a fan." Kevin adds.
"The fact that you can say that without a hint of embarrassment is the most impressive thing about you currently." Wymack sighs sagging into the economy seat as he looked over to where his other troubled player was sitting in the aisle. "You doing alright?" he asks Andrew.
Andrew does not answer him which seems good enough.

Divine Intervention Prologue
Find the actual AO3 fic here:
Origin Post
made some art to make up for what you're about to read!
Summary:
One thing that Nathaniel Wesninski has inherited from his mother is a talent for math.
So he knows that a quarter of his soul currently belongs to the devil, and that in exchange this means that his father is not able to kill him. All he has to do is survive the millions of other things that could threaten his life, and thank his lucky stars (and the devil) that his father isn't one of them. All he has to do is keep running, keep running. The Millport High dingoes have lost their final match, and Neil Josten is ready to ditch Arizona and move somewhere where his father could never reach him - they say Rio de Janeiro is nice around this time of year. But a tantalising contract compromises his plans, and the promise of Exy seals the deal.
Neil is used to having a hellish effect on the people around him due to the immortal contract shadowing over his aura, but something his mother's deal with the devil can't explain the delicious burn he gets when he's around a certain blonde goalie, and the angelic way the sun pools around in a sheen on his platinum hair.
One thing that Nathaniel Wesninski has NOT inherited from his mother is his lack of self preservation.
Prologue:
ψ
Mary Hatford spent her last moments praying.
But could it even be called praying, if it wasn’t to a god? The Wesninskis were too far gone to be pious. The bloodline was drenched in sin and corruption - what god would want to service a family like them?
Nathaniel Wesninski and Mary Hatford had spent away their years running from a monster who delighted at meeting them at every corner. He rounded them up in Santa Monica, telling his men to surround them. It was only a matter of time before the Butcher’s hounds closed in for the kill - all they were waiting for was their boss to finish the job himself.
Nathaniel knew it; if he said it Mary would beat him till he bled. But it was always inevitable - there was nowhere to run.
Lola and Romero had already ran them through with knives, as if tenderising the animals before they became dead meat. Mary had drugged him dry with alcohol, wine buzzing out the throbbing pain in his severed muscles. Nathaniel wasn’t sure on whether it was his drunken state, or the amounts of blood he was losing, but he felt something wash over him, hot as burning, red as blood.
It hurt, badly - blazing fire eating over his limbs, splitting his brain in half, scratching at his head. Harsh, sickening inferno burned him from the inside out. “Mum?” He whispered, his voice weak with agony.
She held him in her hands, her rough hands unusually gentle on his throbbing head.
“I’m sorry, Abram.”
“It hurts. What are you doing to me? It hurts, stop-”
“Keep going. Keep going when I’m gone. Please.” What was she talking about? They either made it out of here together or not at all. But there was no time to comprehend, when affliction burned the alcohol in his brain, turning his blood to gasoline.
“Keep running, stay alive. Stay alive, Abram-”
Abram cried then. He should have cried for his mum, for his soul. But the true mark of losing part of his soul was the fact that he cried for neither. He cried from pain. He sobbed and screamed, gagged away vomit and coughed out the burn in the pit of his stomach, cried until the fire whittled away to weak flame, and he was able to breathe without ash in his throat, because his mother was the one burning now, while Abram stayed untouched.
He cremated her by the beachside, hating the blue of the ocean. Hating how the sun shone on the surface of the tide, glistening in the sweltering California sun, the beautiful view it gave. He hated it all. Nothing should be beautiful - there shouldn’t be birds soaring along the horizon. Everything living, and everything innocent should curl up and die, because Mary Hatford was dead now. Killed by a butcher, and nobody even seemed to care. Nobody but Nathaniel. He buried her ash-kissed bones deep, where nobody would find them, not even Nathaniel. He felt thorns in his throat, willing himself to die, to shed a single tear for the woman he’d sacrificed to live. He knew she wanted this - it was inevitable. He shed no tears, and realised that he really was a soulless bastard. But what was there to do? No point dwelling on the futile.
Somebody always made it out alive, and it would never be a Wesninski.
She wasn’t a Wesninski, he reminded himself. She was a Hatford.
But she still died - and with her, Abram did too.
He dug around in his rucksack. One more fake ID, few more forged papers - only enough for one more identity. The last stop he’d make before he left forever. He was going to die eventually - selling his soul just meant there was one less way to do it. The devil loomed over the newly birthed Neil Josten’s shoulder, following him to the convenience store (where he loaded up on iron pills, medical kits and emergency food that would last him a coach ride), and on the bus to Millport, a town full of nobodies in the middle of nowhere. Nobody to hurt him, nothing to tempt him, as the devil rode on his shoulder.
ʚ ɞ
Tilda Minyard spent her last moments being a bitch.
Andrew warned her what would happen if she kept putting her hands on his twin brother - he would get rid of her, and have no conflictions doing it. But the woman didn’t listen, she never listened.
So there Andrew was, speeding and rearing the wheel on the road to his deadbeat mother’s death. He whistled on the highway to hell, tuning out her incessant drugged babbling in favour of putting pressure on the acceleration. She was screaming now, and Andrew didn’t like that, not at all. Begging him to stop the car, yanking on his arm, screeching into his ear. “-Please, Aaron!” and Andrew didn’t like that word. He spotted brick in his peripheral, on his right, where Tilda was sitting, ensuring the consequences he promised her - ensuring her death.
“I told you what would happen if you kept hitting him.” He told her, his voice cold as ice. No amount of alcohol could have paled her face like his words did.
“ Andrew? ” She cried, pure despair creasing her features. “How the hell-”
“Goodbye, Tilda.” He pressed the accelerator one more time, before wrenching the wheel right.
“Andrew, ple- ”
….
She was quiet now, it was all so quiet. Dead now, he concluded - while Andrew was left with a throbbing yet faint pain in his hand. Why wasn’t he paralysed in agony? What the hell was going on?
Sirens flashed fluorescent red and blue over him - he slumped his head on the drivers seat, just enough so he could see Tilda’s crumpled body beside him. And that was enough.
Aaron was safe now. And that was enough.

Sonic Underground 05: Mobodoon
I’m watching Sonic Underground in search of inspiration to finish a fic I’ve been writing forever. It’s a sad state of affairs. See the recap of the first three episodes here, if you're interested!
This is episode 5: Mobodoon, which is supposedly telling you about how wonderful Mobius used to be, but is actually showcasing Manic’s emotional centre and how he Longs For A Home.
…Grown up LeDiz has so little patience for this episode, especially in a series that otherwise does a goddamn amazing display of a well thought-out post-monarchy dictatorship. It’s going to show you a perfect little commune and tell you this is how Aleena’s whole kingdom was and IT’S NONSENSE.
The plot (for want of a better word): On the search for their mother, the royal triplets uncover a magical portal that takes them to their birthplace: Mobodoon! In a peaceful sanctuary where everything is free and everyone is equal, Manic finally feels at home for the first time in his life. Will he abandon the fight against Robotnik—and his family—to stay where he feels he truly belongs?
Of course he won’t, that would require continuity. And I’m running out of wine.
Aleena… it’s episode five. Of forty. Don’t threaten me with the end of the Sonic Underground. Honestly.
Manic said something very quickly, too quickly for me to follow, but “second day of the third month” is their birthday, COMPLETELY OVERRIDING established Sonic canon on his birthday being in June. Yes I make too much of this.
Also, side note, there’s some actually not terrible animation in this opening sequence. Props where due.
Never mind, we’re at the two minute mark, the animators gave up again.
So, Mobodoon. It’s a little hidden portal to city/town/thing that connects to the normal world once every four years, where the royal children are all born. All greenery everywhere, no money, it’s a proper communist dream. Not bad world building for a magical monarchy’s private retreat, I’ll grant you.
And again, everyone knows and recognises the triplets, who I remind you, were removed from public life before they were one. (The world builder in me assumes this is because hedgehogs with their specific colouring went quickly extinct after Aleena put them into hiding. Sonia only survived because of Windemere’s protection and/or lies)(I am such a problem)
(Also, I’m doing the maths. The portal only opens once every four years. Say they were born and immediately left, because no way they were four when they were running from Robotnik. Power to Aleena for being able to make that trip right after giving birth to triplets. Anyway. Four, eight, twelve… they’re either thirteen or sixteen today and either way I’m not… asking any questions, why would I ask questions?)
Seriously, though, if you don’t just accept what she says because of the magic of Mobodoon, Mayor Winniham is creepy as hell.
Ah haha… the town is possible due to a chaos emerald Power Stone, which gives them power and life. Yes I absolutely make too much of that, too.
SERIOUSLY. If you don’t take her at her world, the MENTAL CONDITIONING THIS MAYOR IS PULLING ON MANIC.
Sonic “and his mondo world” (in his wooooooorld where one is all, in his world never fear the fall!). Not a reference, but appreciated as if it is one.
…Dingo, you’re supposed to be in love with Sonia, don’t give me this “I hate Hedgehogs” line. That’s your boss’s line. No stealing.
Seriously, this plays so much like Winniham is trying to take advantage of Manic. Animation errors even make her look super sinister in some shots. She’s not, though, she’s just creepy to an adult.
The SONG: I found my home. A rare Manic lead song. When I was a kid, I thought this was the best sound… amazing how your opinion changes, huh?
Ah, evil tax collector Sleet. As distinct from queen hunting Sleet or bounty hunter Sleet. As long as he’s Short Sighted Sleet.
Y’know Manic, in a better series, this whole realisation you have about “I finally found a place to call home and now it’s […] doomed” would lead you to realise you have to keep up the fight to protect it. Funny how you’re not actually going to come to that realisation.
Also, in a better series (though this is still sadly uncommon even in good shows), the fact this is a Manic-centred episode would allow him to take charge with how to protect the town. But no, of course Sonia has to do that, because Sonia is present.
And it’s ultimately Sonic’s plan to recharge the medallions and play roadrunner that saves the day. He's the hero and the drawcard for the Trashfire, so it's ALLOWED, but it's still frustrating. Why have the OC if you're not going to actually give them room to be used???
JEEZ, Sonia, what has Manic ever done to imply he would pawn off the magical medallions that give you all music and power? I know I give you a hard time, but that was so uncalled for! And yeah, he plays along, but jeez!
…and ultimately, Manic decides his home is with his siblings. Two seconds after he says goodbye to them. UGH. I know it’s a pacing thing, and it was common in 90s cartoons, but that does not stop it from being annoying.
Though I will say his point about how the Sonic Underground needs a drummer is legit. It’s actually a thing: rock bands need a drum to keep time and without one will need to find a different way to remain in rhythm. I make too much of this. I really wish the show did too.
Look. LOOK.
This episode is…
I mean, look, the series as a whole is bad, but as I mention when doing the plot synopses, the ideas behind the episodes themselves are pretty sound. You can see how they got through a writing pitch. But what always frustrates me when I watch these bad shows that I love is how good they COULD be with just… minor changes. Like Manic coming up with the idea to save the day, or having a change of heart because of the danger, not his siblings. Also Winniham… you’re still creepy. There’s no getting away from how much you creep me out, I’m sorry.
The counters:
Sonic implying less than 100% American heterosexuality: 2
Sonia's super-strength: 1
Sonia's in love with Bartleby: 1/37
Come back tomorrow if you want to know more!
#sonic underground#lediz fics#sonic the hedgehog#sonia hedgehog#manic hedgehog#when i was a kid#I really liked this episode#now it annoys me SO MUCH#I mean it was always bad because of the animation#but THE PLOT#UGH

Chaos and a Dingo CH 1
Well, never thought I would get into an NCIS again, but here we are.
I had about a million other things to do on NYE, but apparently my brain couldn't let me until I typed this out.
Not proof read or anything, so who knows what you're getting.
Just a light little 1 shot that might turn into a 2 shot, who knows, probably depend if I get the time.
Read below, at AO3 or FF.net
Somehow, a night of nearly dying, had turned into a day of hunting down a kidnapper, and to top it all off a betrayal by a supposed ally. The team was done, there was nothing left to do that couldn't wait until tomorrow, and they had nothing left to give.
"Alright, get some rest, we'll have to face the higher ups tomorrow," Mackey told them all, met only with silent nods of approval.
Collecting her phone and keys, Evie glanced around her desk to make sure that she had everything she might need, glancing up she caught her partners eye from the opposite desk, clearly about to ask a question.
"You need a ride?" she deducted quickly, offering before he could ask.
"Yeah, I came in with JD yesterday for the gala," DeShawn stated, turning his wrist enough to check his watch, "that was what, like 22 hours ago?"
"Let's not do that math," she grinned at him, the two falling into line behind Blue & Rosie also heading off.
"Can we stop at a great little Indian restaurant I've found just around the corner from mine?" he requested as they both got to her vehicle, continuing without giving her a chance to respond, "who am I kidding, it's not like you would turn down free food."
"As long as it's better than your gross pizza toppings," she scrunched her nose up at the memory, pressing the start button on the dash.
"It's so good, I found it by accident and now I think I'm basically a regular," he rambled on, creating their pick up order on his phone as he did, "you'll love it, best meal you'll have this week."
"I don't know, that Bunning's snag I had the other day will be pretty hard to beat," her quip came easy, much like always, as did her smirk at his confusion.
"Wait, what?" his brows furrowed as he stared her down trying to work out if she was messing with him or not.
"Yeah, I mean I was a bit worried for it after the whole onion debacle, but it held strong," she dead panned the information, paying more attention to the busy road ahead than the conversation.
"It's a hardware store yeah?" it would have been hard for him to have missed the signs and adds around town, but a part of her was impressed he knew that much.
"JD hasn't taken you for a snag yet? He's a die hard fan," Evie chuckled, making a mental note to tell JD to take Mackey for one.
"I'm going to google this real quick," he side eyed her, evidently finished placing their order.
"What, never heard of a sausage sizzle?" she turned to him for a second grinning.
"You see, this is the problem," DeShawn looked up from his phone even more confused than before.
"What? That our hardware store know how to do a bloody good sausage?" pulling up to a stop at a set of lights, she glanced at him once more.
"But how is it a national pastime?" his question was laced with the mixture of awe and confusion that seemed to make an appearance at a lot of Australian things he learnt about.
"Easy, it's a national store," she shrugged, turning as the light went green, "I still don't see the issue."
"The issue is that you Aussie's do such strange things, that I never know if y'all are messing with me or not," DeShawn sighed, grinning at her nonetheless.
"It's pretty simple," she started, pulling into a park in front of the store that he had directed her to, "if it sounds super bat shit, its probably real but if it only sounds a little crazy, then its probably also real, but if it's in the middle, possible not real."
"So helpful, Evie," he told her, exciting the vehicle and heading into the small Indian restaurant.
Watching him, she slunk back into the drivers seat, exhausted but wide awake, she felt like she wouldn't be able to sleep for hours. Focusing instead on the way that he greeted the staff, clearly knowing them all by name, she couldn't help but smile at the way he seemed to make friends wherever he went.
Getting caught out when he turned away to glance back out the shop window, he returned her smile and she couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness that she had nearly never gotten to see him again. Turning away, she took to watching the street around them, trying to distract her brain away from the fact that she nearly died only the night prior.
Entering his kitchen, Evie watched as he placed the bag of take away on the bench before turning back to her, leaning against it. She took in his quiet demeanor and realised that it was all catching up to him as well.
"Not hungry anymore?" she asked as she approached, copying his actions on the island bench directly across from him.
"Help yourself," DeShawn shook his head at her question.
"I think I might be too wired to eat, shocker, I know," she smiled gently at him, not pressing on the fact that they hadn't really needed to even get the food.
"You all nearly died last night, Mackey, and Blue," he stared her down intently, "and, you."
"Crazy that it was only last night, hey," she bit down a quip that she had nearly instinctively responded with.
"I really thought we were going to get there too late, especially after we went to the wrong spot first," the fear was still evident on his tone, even though he knew that they had gotten there in time.
"But you didn't, you saved us all," Evie moved to stand in front of him to prove her point, she hadn't even had a chance to process the situation herself, let alone how it had effected him.
"Only just, we cut it too fine," his eyes filtering over her face as if he was trying to take her all in incase she disappeared and it killed her to know how much he would have blamed himself if it had ended badly.
Stepping closer into his personal space, she placed her hand on his chest much like she vaguely remembered doing in that chamber, his gaze focused on her as if he was trying to read her mind to get an understanding of her thinking. But, she wasn't even entirely sure she knew, one part of her was telling her to step away, the other was telling her not to have regrets.
Before he had a chance to question her, or she had a chance to over think, she kissed him, almost chastely as she went to pull back the instant that her lips touched his, had it not been for his hand already slipping in under her shirt pulling her back into him. Her other hand coming to rest on his bicep as his came to her face, stroking down her hairline as she broke away to catch her breath and her thoughts.
"Sorry, probably shouldn't have done that," she froze slightly at the implications of her actions, her mind racing to come up an exit plan.
"I was your 'kiss', wasn't I?" he joked, defusing the tension between them slightly, removing his hand from her face, but leaving the one just under her shirt on her back.
"No actually," she laughed, that game was always going to come back to bite them considering they had all lived.
That time it was DeShawn to initiate the kiss, his hand on her back pulling her toward him as his other went straight back to the side of her face, as if now he had had the taste of her, he needed more, something that she was more than willing to abide to.
"I should probably go, before we cross any lines we probably shouldn't," she tried to talk herself into it, as they broke away once more.
"I think we may have already crossed some lines," he smirked at her, brushing aside some strands of hair that had fallen across her face, a move that would be normally almost too sweet enough to make her leave, but instead she stayed put.
"I guess that we probably won't be working together after tomorrow's debrief," Evie reasoned, tilting her head slightly with a cocky grin; her mind made up.
"That's a really good point," he agreed with her, his lips moving to her neck.
Turning off the shower, she stepped out into his bathroom, drying and dressing as quickly as possible. She had yet to decide if he wasn't awake if she should wake him or not, and was glad that her decision was made for her when she entered his bedroom once again to find he watching her.
"Evie, it's 6am," his disheveled look from his bed brought a grin to her face, his groggy tone telling her that it was only her shower that had woken him.
"I know D, I'm making shit time," she grabbed her pair of runners and sat on the edge of his bed, deciding it was probably easier for her to get through whatever questions he might have for her about last night if they weren't face to face.
"Why?" he reiterated his confusion over the early get up time, especially when they weren't due back until 10:30am and it wasn't like they had gotten a well rested sleep.
"I've got to meet Mackey for run," she told him, leaving out the part that her alarm was set for the time that it took her to get there from her place and not from his.
"Surely not after the last couple days?" he asked, seemingly content with skipping over bringing up anything about the previous night.
"She didn't cancel, so I didn't," Evie shrugged, she wasn't going to be the one to cancel on the boss.
"Did you get gym clothes out of your car?" he questioned, as if he was only just awake enough to realise that she was wearing different clothes.
"Yes, thank god I had some in there," she had taken the win, extra glad that she always kept extras in her car, usually more so because she had forgotten to take them back out again then anything.
"You didn't wake me," DeShawn's words stilled her for a moment, before she realised he hadn't meant anything by it.
"I'm quiet," she stated, standing to leave, the rushed need for her to get going giving her a good out that was was very willing to take.
"Evie," he stopped her in her tracks, taking her pause as an affirmative to continue, "are we going to talk at all, or pretend nothing happened?"
"Likely the latter," she grinned at him, she knew it was the easy way out, but she also knew it was the answer he had expected from the way he smirked back, "bye D."
"You're late," Mackey told her as she approached, the older woman watching her with her hawk eyes as usual, "I wasn't sure if you had bailed on me."
"Sorry, bit harder to get up this morning you know?" Evie chose an answer that was believable and left minimal follow up.
"I get that," Mackey nodded in agreement, and for once Evie was glad that she wasn't one that was much for talking.
Entering their makeshift headquarters, Evie couldn't help but feel like it might be the last time that they were all in the same room together, especially that room. But, regardless of the consequences, she knew that they had all made the right choice and from the feeling of the room, it was a mutual feeling.
Heading towards the Mackey, Rosie and Blue at the table in the middle of the room, she quietly sat with them, a slight nod in greeting from everyone as they awaited their fate. The sound of footsteps drew the groups attention, only dropping slightly when they realised it was just the rest of the team and not the superiors coming in to potentially split them up.
"How was Jack today?" Evie asked JD as he joined the rest at the table, DeShawn following him, but she focused on her boss.
"Better, definitely going to take everyone a moment to get back to normal," JD answered her, glancing around at the quieter than usual group, "thank-you, everyone, I mean it."
"We know boss, don't stress," she told him what they were all feeling, "whatever happens."
"I have a question," DeShawn spoke up, Evie's eyes snapping to him instantly, "can y'all really have Dingo's as pets?"
"Yeah," Blue responded without thought, glancing at the other two women holding back smirks with confusion.
"What's Evie told you now?" JD asked trying to get up to speed as well.
"She sent me this photo this morning from her and Mackey's run," DeShawn showed his phone to JD, before showing the rest of the table a photo of her hugging a dog that looked strikingly like a dingo.
"Well, you can have them as pets if you really want, but, that there my friend is simply a cream Kelpie," Rosie told him, the older man shaking his head at the joke.
"It was just too easy, D," Evie smirked at him, glad that they could seem to just slip back into them and ignore everything else, even if it was likely short lived.
"Wait, you two went running and didn't invite me?" Blue questioned almost sounding hurt at being left out.
"Do you even run?" Mackey responded, trying not to sound too harsh.
"I could take it up, how far did you go?" the younger girl seemed eager to join in.
"We go a couple times a week, you can join us next time babe," Evie offered, Mackey nodding in agreement.
"How did that even start?" Rosie asked, everyone glad for the distraction.
"JD actually, he refused to come running with me so he suggested I hit up Evie, because apparently she is the only one around here that does early mornings and running," Mackey explained briefly, glancing slightly at the man in question before focusing back at the other man.
"I didn't refuse, I just prefer to surf first thing not run, Evie seemed a better fit," JD clarified, feeling the need not to be completely thrown under the bus.
"Honestly, the Evie and early mornings part was the most shocking part to me," Mackey smirked, moving on from her first victim.
"Rude much," Evie acted hurt, but grinned at the comment nonetheless, their conversation interrupted by the sounds of a group heading their way, the team suddenly quiet as they awaited their superiors who would determine their fate.

So after some not-so-great time with the newest Sims 4 expansion pack (Life and Death...) and now that I have mostly recovered from my infection (here is to hoping I didn't catch the C-Sickness while my Dad took me along to buy some stuff for Halloween the other day [he didn't know he had it then]...) I guess it is time to return to Daybreak. Not so happily I have to admit, as the game just... isn't as fun as I would need it to be, but we have to get through it somehow.
Sacred ground, huh? And you though Rean had it bad with his love for hotsprings ^^'
BTW... the game was fooling us quite nicely with Risette here. I remember that at some point I was wondering if she was a robot or had at least some robotic parts (like an arm or leg) or something but I assumed you would see joints, like with Lapis and that for sure she would not be able to go into the water like that so easily if that were the case so I dropped that line of thinking very quickly.
I do like tho that Lapis new body also looks completely human at this point. Its really nice. I mean if we have the technique, why not use it for everyone who has non-human parts? Hell, I am pretty sure we could make Georges wish come true and give Victor a completely human looking arm at this point too.
I mean... despite the technical advancement we have in Trails these days, I agree with a big part of the fandom the the technical advancements jumps between the Arcs are often quite unrealistic. But I guess they found quite a nice answer for why Marduks jump in particular was so big in Kai. I like that they bothered to at least find an excuse here.
Its called Genes guys! There is nothing you can do about the size of your boobies! (Which is funny because technically speaking, neither Millium nor Altina should have Genes that defy their proportions. They were never meant to grow like that anyway and yet... huh...)
Think about it! If we knew then what we know now and killed that freaking bastard right here Kuros/Daysbreaks deathcount would be so much lower, its shipcount one ship higher (because we wouldn't lose Dingo) and maybe we could have even skipped on some parts of Kuro 2 and this whole Arc would be so much nicer and...
Van? My dear favorite Spriggan... if in loop 2000 you accidentally bump into this guy... please kill him!
How much luck can she truly have if the man she loves gets blown up in a way that not even a body to mourn will be left? Thats not luck, for sure! (Yes, you could call it luck that she managed to get her tearfull goodbye in the end, despite the bodyless part and I GUESS that IF we manage to avoid all the shit happening in this game in loop 2000 (please Aidios! Have mercy on my pure-player-heart and grand my wishes!) it would also be a shitload of luck to this time be able to have her lovestory... but IF that is going to happen remains to be seen so. I still stand with what I said at first, which is that losing Dingo the way she did is anything BUT luck. (Then again, seeing how she follows him around like this I guess it somewhat IS luck that she did not follow him on that fateful day...)
So he is 27... which means that he is younger than Olivert. If my math works correctly, Olivert should have been around Agates age in Sky which means he should be 30 by now which still makes him younger than me tho XD By quite a few years to boot. *achem* I am sorry, but my birthday draws near and I am leaving the "mid thirty" part and enter the "late thirties" part at that point and its frustrating me quite a bit ^^'
(To be honest, while I do not mind at all playing characters that are younger then me - in fact, I do believe it makes me feel younger myself, so its a good thing - it does depress me a bit that 20 years ago, when I was watching Animes, I was around the same age as the characters, now I am basically the same age as some of their mothers XD)
You know... we had dirty magazines since Crossbell - if I remember correctly - but Calvard really takes the cake with the whole half nakedly poledancing-gig. I wonder what we get in the next arc. Pornos? I would not be surprised at this point - obviously we would not really see them, just get a mention here and there.
Suddenly Ouroboros XD
... I... I can not even say how much I want to strangle NISA right now. They gave Lucrecy a French accent. French! WHY?! Why would they do that? And she sounds so... urg! NO! Why?
ALSO Harvoods voice should be much deeper and more hoarse. It totally takes the edge off of him that he sounds like... this.
It seems odd that she managed to keep that gig a secret from her sister, given how every man in Tharbad must have already seen her on the pole and given how they make money by dancing on the streets its obvious that some of them must have noticed already who she is and there is no way in hell nobody made a comment about it.
You know... if you ever meet Alisa... let her give you the same lesson she gave Rean about Head-Pats. I am pretty sure, just like him, you will learn nothing from it, but at least someone DID warn you XD
People always (rightfully so) say Alisa overreacted after the whole incident with Claire, but look at Judiths reaction to her misunderstanding Vans intention with Saara ^^'
Well first at all: You are NOT allowed to speak in Adios name. You might be friends with some holy shitty saint or whatever but that doesn't make you a Grahlsritter or anything and secondly, Van will end up in Gehenna either way, he is literally a devil XD
Now about that... where have you been when he broke my poor Agnes heart? (Jokes on me, she wanted her heart to be broken...)

WIP Wednesday | Math Nerd AU Masterpost
They watched as their newest recruit lead the Millport Dingos to an impressive victory but Wymack also noticed that he was not the only college coach there. He’s sure that some of the other players were getting offers but the Foxes were only there for one single player and after watching him live…he’s sure they’re not the only ones there for Neil Josten.
He watches as Josten’s teammates tackle him in excitement as the final buzzer sounds. The team had been nothing to write home about a year ago, a standard high school team that could be found anywhere. Then Neil Josten appeared as if from nowhere and dragged their team up to the best in Arizona as of today. He didn’t seem like a Fox.
But Coach Hernandez had still submitted his reel and Wymack had called him to try and understand why someone like Neil Josten was being put up for consideration as a Fox. “Coach Wymack, he’s my best player far and away but I have never once even seen a whisper of his parents and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him without bags under his eyes. The kid has two jobs that I know about and I wouldn’t be surprised if he had more. His mailing address is a P.O. Box.” Coach Hernandez says.
“USC and Penn have offered him spots.” Wymack says.
“USC and Penn can pay for his college and give him a place to stay for the next five years. He needs more than that, he’s a great kid Coach Wymack…he deserves more than that.” Coach Hernandez says with emphasis. “You, of all the Division 1 coaches, know that sometimes a kid needs more than that, I’ve always admired that stance.” He adds.
Damn if Wymack didn’t slip Neil’s reel into the ones that Kevin was going over so that his Assistant coach could do the remainder of the heavy lifting.
