My only complaint about this episode is that Matt and Laura don't seem to be on the same page about how old Imogen is

Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny. Matthew 5:25-26

“Hidden but Not Hidden” By Bible Love Notes:
“Psalm 119:11 says: “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”
In this verse, hidden doesn't mean concealing God's Word. It means storing it up and treasuring it in our hearts.
If you read all 176 verses of Psalm 119, you'll discover many ways that the psalmist hid God's Word in his heart. For example:
Psalm 119:9-16: “How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. 10 I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. 11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. 12 Praise be to you, LORD; teach me your decrees. 13 With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth. 14 I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. 15 I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. 16 I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.”
In these verses, the psalmist hides God's Word by:
1. Obeying it – verse 9. “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.” —James 1:22-25 (NLT)
2. Seeking God in it – verse 10. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” —Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)
3. Studying it with the Spirit's help – verse 12. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” —John 14:26 (NKJV)
4. Reciting it – verse 13. “Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.” —Colossians 3:16 (NLT)
5. Enjoying it – verse 14. “The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.” —Psalm 19:8 (NLT)
6. Meditating on it – verse 15. “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” —Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)
7. Spending time regularly in it – verse 16. “—”Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved, a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth.” —2 Timothy 2:15 (AMP)
Are you “hiding” God's Word in your heart?”

Music For the Soul
by Alexander MacLaren
Hidden From The Wise and Prudent
"I thank Thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that Thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes."
- Matthew 11:25-26
There is no royal road into the sweetness and the depth of Christ’s love for the wise or the prudent. The understanding is no more the organ for apprehending the love of Christ than is the ear the organ for perceiving light, or the heart the organ for learning mathematics. Blessed be God! The highest gifts are not bestowed upon the clever people, on the men of genius and the gifted ones, on the cultivated and the refined, - but they are open for all men; and when we say that love is the parent of knowledge, and that the condition of knowing the depths of Christ’s heart is simple love, which is the child of faith, we are only saying in other words what the Master embodied in His thanksgiving prayer, "I thank Thee, Father! Lord of heaven and earth, because Thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes."
And that is so, not because Christianity, being a foolish system, can only address itself to fools; not because Christianity, contradicting wisdom, cannot expect to be received by the wise and the cultured, - but because a man’s brains have as little to do with his acceptance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a man’s eyes have to do with his capacity of hearing a voice. Therefore, seeing that the wise and prudent, and the cultured, and the clever, and the men of genius are always the minority of the race, let us vulgar folk, that are neither wise, nor clever, nor cultured, nor geniuses, be thankful that that has nothing to do with our power of knowing and possessing the best wisdom and the highest treasures; but that upon this path the wayfaring man, though a fool, shall not err, and all narrow foreheads and limited understandings, and poor, simple, uneducated people, as well as philosophers and geniuses, have to learn of their hearts and not of their heads, and, by a sense of need and a humble trust and a daily experience, have to appropriate and suck out the blessings that lie in the love of Jesus Christ. Blessed be His name! The end of all aristocracies of culture and superciliousness of intellect lies in that great truth, that we possess the deepest knowledge and the highest wisdom when we love and by our love.
There is no true wisdom which does not rest calmly upon a basis of truthfulness of heart, and is not guarded and nurtured by righteousness and purity of life. Man is one - one and indissoluble. The intellect and the conscience are but two names for diverse parts of the one human being, or rather they are but two names for diverse workings of one immortal soul. And though it be possible that a man may be enriched with all earthly knowledge, whilst his heart is the dwelling-place of all corruption; and that, on the other hand, a man may be pure and upright in heart, whilst his head is very poorly furnished and his understanding very weak - yet these exceptional cases do not touch the great central truth, " The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding."

Happy Thanksgiving
The invitation to feast with God is there, every year, but I think the feasting, and God’s desire to gladden our hearts, and by the way, God’s anticipation of being blessed by us, too, goes beyond just thanking God for all the things that feel good.
Setting aside a time of thanksgiving once a year is an ancient tradition for many people groups, including the Hebrew tribes. Before they entered the Land of Promise, God instructed them on the several festivals they were to keep each year, including a day of feasting at the Lord’s table soon after the year’s first harvest.
In the wilderness, everyone daily ate at God’s table, as manna from…

"This Life" / "The Way"
“This Life” / “The Way”
When I was in college there was a cult pouring its poison into unsuspecting students who didn’t know their Bible. Truth is there were dozens of these cults stalking the spiritual lives of young impressionable students. The one that I am thinking of called itself “THE WAY”. They used biblical words, talked a lot about “Jesus” and offered a weekend class called “Power for Abundant Living” for…

Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me
Daily Gospel Reading – Matthew 26:14-25
Judas Agrees to Betray Jesus14 Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—went to the chief priests 15 and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. 16 From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.

Saturday Before Good Friday: Ten Days That Changed the World
Yesterday, we began a day-by-day look at the Passion Week, so our “week” is actually ten days, starting BEFORE Palm Sunday… Here are some observations about the Saturday before Good Friday, which would have been eight days before Easter. It is a quiet Saturday, a sabbath, so there is no mention of any activity until we read John’s account of Supper at Bethany.

”That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?“

God literally has a sense of humor.
How do you think animals make us happy?
He literally blessed us by creating animals!
Genesis 1:20-25
Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.”
So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”
So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so.
And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
He purposely created them to be adorable, and to provide us with entertainment.
He creates personalities for animals like He does for us!
He creates every animal to be so unique and special.
Matthew 6:26-34
"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
Whenever you see a cat stuck in something,
or a duck quacking and drumming a drum with its feet,
or a dog playing piano,
GOD MADE THAT!!!
He perfectly intended for animals to be hilarious.
He perfectly intended for animals to be adorable.
God made animals to make us smile and laugh!!!
He made animals to make us happy!
So as well as turning to Him on our bad days and reading His word and coming to Him, He made animals to make our bad days better too!
Lots of people tend to forget about or not even think about that!
God is so good, more than we deserve.
If God cares about the animals and takes care of them and creates them with personalities of their own and makes them unique,
just how much more does He care about YOU?
