Unofficial Pull List (as at Oct 2023)
Hmmmm as it's Tuesday and I'm looking at lists of titles in solicits for the new year, my roundup of what I am actually reading in current comics at the moment:-
As it comes out/I get access:-

World's Finest Teen Titans
Batman & Robin
Birds of Prey
Blue Beetle
The Flash
Shazam!
Wonder Woman
City Boy
Fire & Ice: Welcome to Smallville

Tales of the Titans (though honestly I may not read the Gar one)
Gotham War event
Warlord (volume 1, ty DCUI for my weekly highlight moment)
Occasionally open/intending to read:
Amazons Attack (I'm not optimistic but it's got Mary Marvel in it soooooo)
Batman: Brave and the Bold (what if this title was actually good?)
Steelworks (I'll get there)
Detective Comics
Might look at the JSA trio when I lose my current minis?
Outsiders (I object to the name but it's Kate Kane so)
Speedforce
John Constantine, Hellblazer: Dead in America
Eventually plan to be caught up on all the Bat titles, but you know, still trudging through 2013 in New 52, I'm only 10 years behind now...

In JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY (1952) #83, Larry Lieber joins Lee and Kirby to bring the mighty Thor from Norse myth to the Marvel Universe! In TALES OF SUSPENSE (1959) #39, Lee, Lieber and artist Don Heck introduce Tony Stark – and show how, to save his own life, he must build the invincible armor of Iron Man! In STRANGE TALES (1951) #110-111, Lee and Steve Ditko present the psychedelic world of Doctor Strange, Master of the Mystic Arts! And in DAREDEVIL (1964) #1, Bill Everett teams with Lee to show how blind youth Matt Murdock becomes the fearless adventurer known as Daredevil!
104 PGS./Rated All Ages …$7.99
--
Despite the many solicitations, I don’t think it will be a busy for Stephen (at least, on the confirmed appearances) because, well, Ults will be confused on Miles Morales, not the Illuminati. And the other one is just a reprint. Stephen will be certainly more featured in Warlock, which is nice to see again since they share a history. And that’s it!

SPIDER-MAN HAS A BIG POWER UPGRADE IN NEW MARVEL COMIC
Tumblr media
The Friendly Neighborhood continues to be tested in every possible way, especially now during the " The End of the Spider-Verse " arc, written by Dan Slott and illustrated by Mark Bagley . However, according to the request of the magazine's eighth issue, he will soon gain a huge increase in his powers. Recently, Marvel Comics released the solicitations for the May 2023 comics, which include Spider-Man #8 . In the plot, we will see Peter Parker having to deal with all the new problems that will come from increasing his powers, causing an overload in his body. In addition, the synopsis of the magazine was revealed, where we discover that all of Peter Parker 's powers will not only be stronger, but also " super-charged ". This, however, will cause even more problems for him, even more so with the return of an as-yet-unrevealed classic villain. In the arc, we see Shathra commanding an army to annihilate all Spider-Men in the universe, which has already resulted in irreparable casualties, such as Jessica Drew , who was erased from the Multiverse after being stabbed by a corrupted and manipulated Spider-Man Noir.
Spider-Man #8 will be released in May 2023 in the United States. (X)

Comics this week ?
Superman Annual 2023 - People were calling this the best issue of Williamson's run yet, and they might be right. A great showcase of the Daily Planet crew like we haven't seen in ages, with Lois herself getting to be the main protagonist while Clark takes more of a backseat. Williamson's take on Livewire continues to rule, seems he realizes that she is the Anti-Lois and is just canonizing that by having her work at the Daily Planet! Even brought back Red Cloud, the villain who was the Anti-Clark to get Lois and Livewire to bond. Another thing I've been begging for- learning WHY Mercy is loyal to Lex and what her backstory is - seems to be in the cards too! I am somewhat concerned about all of the villains being "redeemed" - Parasite, Livewire, Silver Banshee, Lex, and Mercy are all being placed in this morally ambiguous territory that can't last, and of course there's also PKJ's use of Metallo. My expectation is that Williamson is playing the long game and moving these villains to where they can do the most damage when they revert to type. Livewire at the Planet, Parasite and Mercy with SuperCorp, Silver Banshee with Jimmy (ok I like that relationship and hope it lasts but we can't assume it will), and Lex in Stryker's. Even Metallo is at Steelworks Tower and could wreck havoc there. At least Toyman is back to being a child-killer, call me edgy but I prefer he be the mentally unstable psycho of the Rogues Gallery, and seeing Cat reach out to Moonlight because Cat has suffered in Metropolis too was a nice moment. Finally there's Brainiac getting ready to attack Metropolis to find something buried there, and the presence of Doomsdogs means he's connected to that Watters Doomsday oneshot. Williamson has been great on Superman and ass on events, I hope a Superman event brings out the best in him.
Danger Street #8 - Finally get a glimpse of the connective tissue here. The guy who sold the helmet to Warlord and Starman is presumably the same guy who created the Green Team and the Outsiders, and may even be the same guy who traumatized Lady Cop.
WildC.A.T.S. #10 -Can't remember if this book has had issues solicited past 12 or not, but I think I'll be hopping off by then. This was a fun, entertaining book and still is, but it hasn't bonded me with these characters outside of Grifter. Despite being a "reboot" Rosenberg clearly assumes that most readers already know who these guys are and I didn't coming in and I don't now. Given I need to cut back, this one is getting dropped.
Knight Terrors: Zatanna #2 - Zatanna badly needs a big story that gives her something to angst over besides her dead father. This was fine but I hate how everything keeps coming back to that.
Spirit World #4 - Spread of Xanthe taking on all the demons was breathtaking.
Scarlet Witch #7 - Good issue, glad we got to see what happens when someone shitty walks through Wanda's door and asks for help, but I cannot understand Marvel's approach to the Wanda/Magneto relationship. As her biological father I understand why she feels tied to him despite him being a deadbeat, but was he ever paternal to her at all? Turning him into some rando she merely thought was her dad makes the relationship nonsensical. He didn't raise her, he exploited her and her brother, he was a shit dad, she shouldn't feel anything for him much less his clone. Don't get why Joseph is back either, with Magneto dead are they planning to use Joseph to stand in for Mags for a while? Maybe next issue will make things more clear.
Immortal X-Men #14 - Jesus Charles get off the fucking floor. Shaw is a moron who got rewarded as a traitor deserves.
Avengers #4 - Appreciated T'Challa telling Sam to get off his back, not thrilled about more House of M/Disassembled references for Wanda. Awaiting to see what the Impossible City's deal is, whether it's someone we readers will know or not.

Black Historical past Month Superhero Anthology Introduced
The final a number of years, each DC and Marvel have launched anthology tales celebrating heroes which can be queer or of a specific marginalized id. DC’s output is significantly smaller than Marvel’s, however no much less essential, as Kevin Conroy’s story from this 12 months’s DC Pleasure will attest. And are available 2023, the writer is constant these anthologies with one for Black Historical past Month. Revealed throughout DC’s solicitations for January 2023, the DC Energy anthology will usher in Black writers and artists to inform tales starring the writer’s varied high-profile Black superheroes. Identify dropped within the solicit for Energy or featured within the cowl embody Nubia, Batman (Jace Fox), each Greens Lanterns John Stewart and Jo Mullein, Cyborg, and Aqualad (Jackson Hyde). And although particular groups weren’t given, the artistic lineup will embody Chuck Brown (Black Manta), Stephanie Williams (Wakanda), Evan Narcisse (io9, Rise of the Black Panther), and others. DC Energy is the second anthology centered on the writer’s Black heroes popping out subsequent 12 months. In February, DC will launch the Milestone thirtieth Anniversary Particular, which is able to give attention to heroes from that specific imprint like Static, Rocket, and {Hardware}. Although that particular and Energy may have among the identical artistic forces, comparable to Brown and Williams, it’s in all probability a secure guess to say that Milestone characters would possibly not likely make an look in Energy. Previously, DC’s had a little bit of a bizarre relationship with Milestone characters showing in its media and comics, significantly Static. That mentioned, Milestone’s particular will function a crossover between an older Static and Batman Past, so possibly there’ll be some exceptions made. DC Energy will launch on January 31, whereas the Milestone thirtieth Anniversary Particular simply has the discharge window of “February” at time of writing. Hopefully it’s DC’s equal to Marvel Voices and is used for different anthologies centered on the varied heroes in DC’s ever-expanding catalog. G/O Media might get a fee Need extra io9 information? Try when to count on the most recent Marvel and Star Wars releases, what’s subsequent for the DC Universe on movie and TV, and every thing it is advisable to find out about Home of the Dragon and Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Energy.
