Hell yeah IceMav omegaverse
come get your midweek update
The next morning, Maverick and Ice reported to an unfamiliar office for revised schedules. As Ice predicted, flying did not make the to-do list, not just for that day but for the rest of the week through Thursday. Instead, they would focus on history and tactics, with time set aside today for a guest lecture from a decorated platonic couple that had flown together in Vietnam. Ice and Maverick were encouraged to ask as many questions as they wanted. Maverick took the suggestion to heart, raising his hand near-constantly in the hour that followed. He expected annoyance, but it was not forthcoming; in fact, the veterans appeared thrilled that he wanted to interrogate them within an inch of their lives. Ten minutes in and the lecture had derailed entirely, drifting from tactics to personal anecdotes—stories where affection, not war, won the day.
Ice listened, and took notes. Sort of. All day he kept looking out the window, his mind somewhere far away. It was not the sort of decadent boredom Maverick remembered seeing from him at Miramar: that Ice had known all the answers to all the questions, and consciously chose to daydream, secure in the knowledge that if he was called upon by name—which he sometimes was, by irritated instructors—everything he needed to extrapolate an answer was hidden in whatever fragments of sentences he’d heard in the last thirty seconds. This Ice was listless. Passive, almost, like he was lying on the bed of a river face up, watching the water flow over him.
At home, Ice drifted further away, barely talking at dinnertime. During his heat care, Ice was practically catatonic, which prompted a nervous Maverick to check in on him several more times than the instructions recommended. After a post-heat care shower, Maverick returned to the bed and asked Ice in the dark if he wanted to cuddle again. And again, Ice said yes, pausing even longer than he had last night before giving his answer.
What did it mean? Maverick’s rut did not take well to Ice’s lethargy. The rut was still in full swing, and Maverick was starting to feel drawn to Ice in ways he’d never felt about anyone before, least of all another man. It was not a sexual feeling, but it wasn’t a friendly feeling, either—more of an intense obsession that prodded Maverick in the back, wanting him to do something, anything to secure Ice’s contentment and safety. To prove to this male omega that he was worth keeping around long enough to build a squadron together.
But Ice’s current woes were all internal. Emotions plagued him, not enemy jets. And at present, Maverick was more comfortable walking blacked out and alone through the darkest alleyway in the seediest city on earth than he was traversing the rolling plains of his own heart. But all was not lost: El Passo would assist Maverick in creating a roadmap over time—so said his assigned counselor. After lunch, he met the man in his office: a retired marine Maverick decided to nickname the Feelings Tutor. There, he was promised that the inner workings of his heart would become navigable, so long as Maverick kept up with the thrice-weekly meetings and did his emotional homework. But Ice’s problem was happening right now. Not in the future, when Maverick’s grasp on the emotional world around him would be better, more refined. And so Maverick paced imaginary circles around Ice’s body all day, wanting to guard against that which he could not see, hear, smell, or even comprehend.

Seven Sentence Sunday
IT'S POSTING DAY. Which means I can finally share tidbits of the Punk Rock AU promted for 911 reversebang by art of @michi-hawkeye, that I've been dying to put out. And because I never play by the rules, this weeks Seven Sentences won't be out of chapter one, which goes up today, but chapter TWO which will hopefully be posting ready towards midweek, since it's the first that contains the original music I've been writing and producing with a couple of awesome collaborators for this fic (thank you @wilfriede & @sillyunicorn, y'all are unparalleled!)
Off to the races:
Buck slips out of Eddie’s grasp, setting his mug down on the little side table, thankfully, to go after Ravi.
But Chim has already touched base with him by slithering around Hen, making Buck’s tackle moot, but for the intensely vocal indignation of their resident guitar whizz.
Chim materializes on her other side like the road runner, smirk firmly in place as he hands off the prize to her behind their backs.
Buck, who has untangled himself from Ravi, crouches like he means to target her next – a plan which she heads off with the best mama bear stare in her arsenal, the one that promises some serious whoop ass.
“Don’t even think about it, Evan Buckley. And you three, are you done? I swear to God, I have kindergarten classes here twice a week, which is exhausting enough. Do I have to corral a gaggle of grown ass men in my down time as well?”
A predictable – if insincere – chorus of “Sorry, Hen,” rings out in response and she does roll her eyes, pointing at each of them in turn: “Behave!”
No pressure tag (for the seven sentence sunday): @thewolvesof1998, @monsterrae1, @rewritetheending, @comfortbuddie and whoever wants to play.
And in case someone's interested to join, I have a taglist post now for the purpose of following my fanworks updates on tumblr: Tag List

Conditions Check
Midweek check in.
I went to the skinny water spot this morning to get in a surf but brought the rod along just in case I saw something worth casting at.
Unfortunately as I kinda suspected with this mornings tide position. The holes were a bit too deep and sloshy to a pick a fish out of the skinny and put a fly predictably in front of his face.
To hedge my bets I did bring my two hander today and blind casted some likely looking holes. I was rewarded with my perry poking efforts by a banger of a 10”ish Halibut.
Other than too much water in the skinny the remaining conditions were great. The water is very warm, the wind was calm and the water was clean and clear. Well that is on the outside. In the holes it was turned up a bit. Call it sloshy.
Now for those of you who don’t mind blind casting the holes with your favorite mole pattern there certainly remains a chance for hook ups. I spooked a few fish in the skinny or you could say a few fish practically ran into me.
Head count, including myself.
6 fly guys visible in my field of view.
Ok there you go.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Nottingham Forest: Match Preview
Should Spurs get the three points, they’ll go forth in the table.
Tumblr media
Spurs play Forest in what is a must-win fixture before a run of tricky fixtures, including the North London Derby, Liverpool, Newcastle and Chelsea away, and possibly a yet-to-be-rescheduled Manchester City home game. With Aston Villa dropping points against Brentford on Saturday in a dramatic 3-3 draw, a win would put Spurs in the Champions League qualification zone thanks to goal difference with a game in hand.
Spurs’ form has been inconsistent recently like most of the season has been for them, winning their last three out of five games (including the 0-4 Villa game) but also lost poorly to Fulham and drew to West Ham in the previous game. However, they have won four out of their last five home games - only losing to Wolves - and are heavy favourites for this game, picking up an average of 2.20 points at home this season.
The Lilywhites won 0-2 in the reverse fixture, with goals from Richarlison from a Kulusevski cross and the Swede scoring later, taking advantage of a Turner mistake. There will be no Matt Turner for tonight’s game, though, as Forest now has a new number 1 in Sels. Bissouma also received a red card for a silly challenge, resulting in a four-game ban, although he didn’t miss any games through suspension due to his unavailability from AFCON. Veliz also had a great cameo, getting one zero touches of the ball as he was subbed on at the last minute to run down the time (my apologies, but this was too funny not to point out). Before all that, Johnson - on his return to the City ground after his summer transfer - received a nasty cut above his eyebrow, whose scar is still visible today. Spurs were still suffering an injury crisis with van de Ven and Maddison still injured (they ended the game with a midfield of Hojbjerg, Skipp, and Sarr), with Davies and Kulusevski replacing them, respectively.
In terms of head-to-head records, Spurs have won the last four out of their previous five games against Forest, only losing 2-0 in the EFL Cup in 2022 due to goals from Lodi and Lingard (I just saw the back five of Sess, Lenglet, Dier, Sanchez, and Doherty and shuttered). Spurs won this fixture last season 3-1, with Kane scoring a brace and Son adding to the tally (Richarlison had a goal disallowed), Worrall scoring a late consolation goal, and Ayew missing an even later penalty for the visitors.
Forest come into this game with one win in seven matches, although the win was a resounding one against Fulham in the midweek. Before that, they lost four and then drew two. They’re currently 17th in the table, only above Luton Town on goal difference, following the Hatters’ win against Bournemouth on Saturday. Forest have an abysmal away record, only picking up 10 points on the road, with a record of 2-4-9. Their 29-point haul this season includes their four-point deduction for PSR breaches, which are currently under appeal (which ironically revolves around the sale of Johnson).
Tottenham Hotspur News
Tumblr media
Sarr should be returning back into the starting lineup.
Predicted Lineup
Guglielmo Vicario: Clean sheets have been rare for all his good performances. This game may be one of the best chances he has before the end of the season.
Destiny Udogie: He’s impressed this season but must be wary of Elanga during this game.
Micky van de Ven: Chris Wood is not known for his speed, but Micky’s pace will be helpful should Forest counter (which they will).
Cristian Romero: The vice-captain will have to keep Wood in check, and like the rest of the defenders, a clean sheet would be welcome.
Pedro Porro: He hasn’t been as free-flowing these days but remains everpresent
Pape Matar Sarr: He was benched the last game, presumably for rotation or injury concerns, but should start.
Yves Bissouma: He performed well against West Ham and was complimented by Ange. Despite inconsistencies in his games, his position is not at risk.
James Maddison: He hasn’t quite hit the heights before his injury, but his spot is secure.
Timo Werner: Although he has the right profile for this team, his goalscoring instincts still need to be improved.
Son Heungmin: With Richarlison injured for this match, Son should lead the frontline, and a goal would be great following his 400th appearance.
Brennan Johnson: The Forest Academy graduate will play against his former teammates again, hoping to last longer on the pitch and leave unscathed.
Players Dropped
Rodrigo Bentancur: He performed fine and has been for most of his appearances following his ankle injury, but Sarr should take his spot for this game.
Dejan Kulusevski: He hasn’t been dropped as he was benched in the last game, but his performances have waned after an otherwise consistent run, and Johnson should be starting, although Kulusevski will no doubt make a cameo at some point.
Players Absent
Fraser Forster (injury): Out for the rest of the season with a foot injury.
Manor Solomon (injury): Out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Richarlison (injury): He has a knee niggle, according to Postecoglou, but could return to the squad for the Newcastle game.
Ryan Sessegnon (injury): Out for the rest of the season with a thigh injury.
Nottingham Forest News
Tumblr media
Gibbs-White has been Forest’s star player this season.
Predicted Lineup
Sels; Aina, Murillo, Omobamidele, Williams; Danilo, Yates; Hudson-Odoi, Gibbs-White, Elanga; Wood
It appears unlikely that Nuno will change the lineup that started against Fulham in midweek on his return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Players Absent
Nuno Tavares (injury): He has had a thigh injury since February, and this game will be too soon for the defender.
Taiwo Awoniyi (injury): His injury has been a blow for Forest, although Wood has done well in his absence.
Willy Boly (injury): Got injured during AFCON and probably won’t play a role in this game.
Players to Watch Out For
Brennan Johnson (TOT): He’s hit an upturn of form in recent weeks and might look to get a goal against his boyhood club as he goes up against Nigerian international Aina.
Son Heungmin (TOT): He may only have one goal in three matches against Forest, but he’s Spurs’ leading man and has the most goal contributions this season, even if he was unavailable during the Asian Cup.
Morgan Gibbs-White (NFO): He orchestrated the defeat of Fulham in midweek and is Forest’s brightest spark and chief creator. He’s also been linked with a move to Tottenham in recent weeks.
Chris Wood (NFO): Forest’s top scorer with 11 goals has been on fire, scoring thrice in their last three games, with 0.82 goals every 90 minutes this season. His aerial prowess will have to be kept in check by Spurs.
Anthony Elanga (NFO): The Swedish international equals Gibbs-White’s assist numbers at seven and will relish the space in Spurs’ high line, particularly when Udogie drifts inside.
Prediction
On paper, this should be a routine win for Spurs, but Spurs tend to hold possession of the ball and need to do more with it. Forest will be looking to capitalise on any Spurs mistakes and lapses in concentration to catch them on the counter, likely through their speedy wingers. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the home side concede first, but the visitors' poor away record should result in Spurs winning.
Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Nottingham Forest

China Box Office: ‘Fast X’ Revs Up $18 Million Midweek Opening
China Box Office: ‘Fast X’ Revs Up $18 Million Midweek Opening
More than two million people turned out on Wednesday to watch “Fast X” in Chinese movie theaters, spending a combined $15.3 million on the film on its first day of release. To get more news about new chinese movies, you can visit shine news official website.
That made the 10th film in the “Fast & Furious” franchise a clear winner at the Chinese box office in an unusual midweek release. And it put “Fast X” on course to be the biggest Hollywood film so far this year in the world’s second largest movie market.
Provisional data from local service Ent Group showed that the film also enjoyed $2.83 million from previews on Tuesday. That gives an estimated $18.2 million total at the end of its first official day of release.
The early scores and forward bookings show that “Fast X” should continue to be the top film through the weekend, despite further new releases of Chinese titles that will release on Friday (the more conventional day for movie outings in China) and compete for screens.Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” which had led the Chinese box office chart over its first two weekends, tumbled to third place on Wednesday with a daily score of $920,000. Its cumulative total after 13 days is $64.3 million.
Ticketing agency Maoyan predicts that “Fast X” will coast to a lifetime total of RMB728 million ($104 million USD) in China. Estimates at this stage, however, are subject to significant revision.
With the notable exception of “Avatar: The Way of Water,” which enjoyed a consumption surge between late December and mid-January, Hollywood movies have this year struggled to recapture their past favor in the Middle Kingdom. The lull follows a period when Chinese regulators slashed imports of Hollywood movies and a market in 2022 that retreated to lows not seen for a decade due to strict anti-COVID measures.
Previous “Fast” movies have kicked into higher gear in China far quicker. In 2015, “Fast 7” earned RMB346 million ($49.4 million USD at today’s currency conversion rates) on its opening day. In 2018, “Fast 8” sped off with RMB417 million ($59.6 million USD) on its opening day lap.
The new movie, perhaps predictably, has delighted fans of the franchise and left others on the side lines. On both the Maoyan and Taopiaopiao ticketing platforms, the film has been given a user rating of 9.0 out of 10. On the more high-brow film review website, the movie’s score is a more hum drum 6.9.

Milan x Spezia
Tumblr media
Oh man, I've been waiting nearly a year to pay these f**kers back...
LAST FIVE
MILAN: WLWWW
SPEZIA: LLWDL
FORMATIONS
MILAN (4-2-3-1) : Tatarusanu; Kalulu, Gabbia, Tomori, Hernández; Bennacer, Krunić; Messias, Díaz, Leão; Origi
SPEZIA (3-5-2) *Predicted*: Dragowski; Ampadu, Kiwior, Hristov; Holm, Bourabia, Ekdal, Agudelo, Reca: Gyasi, Nzola
TIME: 3:45pm EST/8:45pm GMT
PLACE: San Siro, Milano
WHERE TO WATCH:  Paramount+ and FuboTV here in the US of Aye and Canada, BeIn for our Aussie pals, ESPNPlay for our fellas in T&T, JioTV for our Indian leoni, and illegal streams that support human trafficking everywhere.
THOUGHTS
FINALLY get to play the only team to beat Milan in league play during the second half of the Scudetto-winning 2021-22 season. I mean, I'm still pissed at that ref for not playing advantage and the canceling of the goal Milan had scored in the dying minutes to take the 2-1 lead, then only to have my rage immediately surpassed by the garbage goal Spezia scored to win it. Admit it...you're still pissed too...
Big midweek win to secure the knockouts in Champions League. I had planned on doing a ratings but life has been very busy on my end. Hoping that'll start to die down some now moving forward.
I saw all the Krunic praise over the last few days. Clearly Pioli was going for the draw or narrow 1-0 win by playing him and he sure did reward him with a solid game and a nice goal. I didn't mind the play, mostly because he was in the middle (anytime that f**ker is on the wing he just plays centrally anyway, might as well just put him there), and Brahim was still a little banged up. CDK got some minutes and with a 3-0 lead at the time I wasn't expecting him to do anything in his 15 or so minutes he got.
To be clear, I don't like Krunic or any other non-CAM playing in the CAM position. Yes, Krunic played well on Wednesday, doesn't change all the other terrible performances he's had when played in that position. All signs are pointing to a fully-fit Brahim for today's game after not seeing the pitch midweek. Let's hope we continue to see October Brahim now in November. Oh! And play Rebic again at RW. He was FANTASTIC on Wednesday: stayed wide and was banging in some quality balls. The guy can really solve Milan's RW issues if he wants...
Prediction: Milan wins 3-0
Forza Milan
