Mineral Swag Tournament Finals
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay y'all, this is it. The FINAL for the Mineral Swag Tournament.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fluorite.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fluorite is a fantastic mineral. It would not have gotten this far otherwise. It comes in a ton of colors, it naturally forms both octahedra and cubes (and massive deposits), and it show brilliant bright blue color under UV light. Fluorescence (the phenomena) is named that because of fluorite!
Tumblr media
It also does this fun thing (that other minerals do as well, but it is common among fluorite) where it changes color as it forms because of changing impurities in the solution from which it grows! Elements like iron, copper, manganese, chromium (and more!) can replace individual ions in fluorite's chemical structure and cause the light to reflect different wavelengths and we therefore see that as a different color. This can also happen if a fluorite ion is missing because the sample has been irradiated (for example) and NOTHING replaces it and so the light still reflects in a different way! That is one of the ways we get purple fluorite and this method of producing color is known as color centers.
Tumblr media
Of course, not all fluorite fluoresces. Not all fluorite forms cubes or octahedra. Some fluorite is colorless. Some of it looks like an ugly little piece of translucent rock. Or a vein of purple mineral in a crack between two other rocks. It would be irresponsible for me to insinuate that all fluorite is this majestic.
But there are some properties that you will always find in fluorite. It has four directions of cleavage. It is the defining mineral for a 4 on the Mohs hardness scale. It will always be made of calcium and fluoride in a 1:2 ratio. These things are some of what define fluorite as a distinct mineral!
Opal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Opal is a beautiful gemstone. Please note that I did not call it a "beautiful mineral" because it is not technically a mineral. It is a solid, inorganic substance with a defined chemical formula, but it lacks the specific crystal structure which minerals MUST have to be considered a mineral.
This crystal structure is the entire reason why fluorite is capable of forming cubes and octahedra. And why garnet forms dodecahedra and beryl forms columns and so on. Opal only comes in those fun little oval shaped stones because it was cut that way! Fluorite forms cubes because it just knows how. Otherwise, opal forms shapeless masses that fracture rather than cleave (fluorite cleaves--four ways). That being said, opal's lack of crystal structure allows it to sometimes be iridescent.
After all, there is a reason opal made it this far. When it shines, it is beautiful. There are several varieties of precious opal (opal that displays its trademark play-of-color/iridescence) and they are all very fun to look at. These precious opals are made of microscopic silica spheres that light reflects off of in weird ways and causes opal to look like it is glittering with a dozen different colors.
However, one would be remiss to forget common opal! Some opal is milky white or a translucent blue, and if you're going to love opal at her fire opal, you better also love her at her common opal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are some raw pieces of opal (common opal on the left). Note how they break irregularly. They have conchoidal fracture, which both quartz and normal glass (all of which are just silica) also have. I personally think conchoidal fracture is pretty neat.
Also, while the opals on the right would still be considered precious opal, they are what the average person is likely to find. Just little bits of iridescence here and there.
And, like fluorite, while not all opals have all of the cool features, they do have some similarities. They will always have conchoidal fracture if they break. And they will always be made of hydrated SiO2.
...That's all I have for these guys, I think! I hope I have been as impartial (and accurate) as possible while presenting these, your FINAL mineral swag contestants. If you have any questions or anything, let me know. The Rock Swag Tournament will start shortly after this concludes! Submit your rocks here! And specific rock formations or named rock varieties here!

Fusion Theory Part 2
Hello again, I am quite aware that it’s been a while, but I have come up with a lot more over the last few months, so here we go. Remember gems, most of this is pure speculation and only a few were actually reported.
Nacre + Quartz: I know what you’re thinking, this just can’t be a common occurrence, and you would be right. In fact, there has only been one report of such a fusion ever taking place. This supposedly happened in a reef where this group of space pirates came in to steal pearls and try selling them or something. This fusion supposedly took place between a mauve tinted Nacre and a Milky Quartz. Supposedly they called themselves a ‘’Tiffany Stone’’
Selenite + Sandstone: This sounds like such an odd unheard-of fusion because well, there’s also only been one report of such existing but it doesn’t list the circumstances leading up to it unfortunately. It is also thought that the fusion isn’t even alive anymore since it hasn’t been publicly seen in ages. Either way, this one was called a Desert Rose.
Fluorite + Olivine: This actually has never occurred before, and almost anyone can see why. Yet I believe that the combination of both would actually look pretty stunning. I also think that the fusion would exhibit some sort of color variety, but not quite fluroescence. Most likely this combination would be called a Labradorite. This type would supposedly reflect certain colors due to something known as ‘’Labradorescence’’.
Pearl + Spinel: Before I mention what I think they would be, we have to remember: Pearls come in different colors and so do Spinels. That being said, pearls can also sometimes form in water although that’s a very rare occurence. So going off of this, I believe that these two would form something called ‘’Coral’’. Coral is a gem close to a pearl, and it also is able to come in different colors though some are more common than others.
That is all for now, sorry for it being so long, that was not my intention but farewell for now.

Hey, hey, I have some more Cool Rocks and I think they’re neat and I want to show everybody!
Tumblr media
Ok so first of all, check out THIS weird rock!  This cool rock is aragonite.  Its crystals grow in these super weird clusters, all radiating out from each other.
Tumblr media
Look at those shapes!  Aragonite is The Best when it comes to bizarre crystal formations.  This rock wouldn’t look out of place in an alien landscape from some scifi movie.  I’m proud of how big and weird my specimen is.
Tumblr media
How about a lovely blue rock?  Celestite has this gorgeous pale blue color, like if you froze the sky into ice.  You can see how it got its name; it’s truely celestial!  It’s easy to tell apart from quartz, because celestite is way, way heavier.
Tumblr media
A cute little cluster of black diopside, in a sparkly silvery matrix.  I guess part of this photoshoot is happening outside today, since it’s especially sparkly in sunlight!  Maybe I’ll show off some more of my Best Viewed in Sunlight rocks.
Tumblr media
A pink forest of spiky triangular huelandite crystals, surrounding a huge rectangular crystal of silky white stilbite!  Stilbite and huelandite both belong to the zeolite group of minerals, and zeolites love to grow together.  The fact that the stilbite is framed so perfectly makes this zeolite extra special - like the huelandite is as proud to show it off as I am!  Ahh, those gentle pastel colors.  They’re so nice as a pair!
Tumblr media
Phantom quartz!  The coolest name ever for a Cool Rock!  Can you spot the phantom?
Tumblr media
It’s not an opera ghost, it’s a smaller quartz crystal hiding inside the larger one!  Hidden beneath that dark layer of dust and calcite inclusions, our phantom and its dusty coating got trapped inside when the larger quartz crystal grew over top of everything.  It’s like a shadowy and mysterious miniature landscape, tiny enough to fit in my hands.
Tumblr media
Some rocks form slowly over thousands of years.  This rock formed when a meteorite smashed into the planet and instantly melted those Boring Earth Rocks, flung them into the air, fused them together into bottle green space glass, and rained them across Europe.  This is moldavite!!!  (Yes, real moldavite, and holy crap was it Expensive.)  That unique texture is the result of its explosive formation, and it’s best viewed with a bright light shining through it.  Can you imagine the kind of intense forces it must have taken to create such a pretty and delicate thing?
Tumblr media
Here’s a tiny rock of mine.  Right now it doesn’t look like much, but it’s actually one of the rocks I’ve always dreamed of adding to my collection.  Let me take it out and let the light hit it just right…
Tumblr media
A sudden rainbow flash!  This little guy is fire agate!  Its brilliant rainbow of colors comes from a layer of shiny hematite hidden inside.  The colors are brightest when the rock is wet, so I often show this one off to people by… licking it.  My friends are judgmental.
Tumblr media
Here’s an unusual rock:  hemimorphite!  This colorful stuff looks like it’d be soft and waxy to the touch, doesn’t it?  Like the melted drips from a scented candle with a name like “summer surf.”  But it’s really a hard layer of crystal that forms on zinc-rich rocks.  The color contrast between this bright blue hemimorphite and the orange rock it’s growing on is really cool!
Tumblr media
Hey you!  Yes, you!  Do you love the sparkly, night-sky look of blue goldstone, but were disappointed when you found out it was manmade, perhaps because you have made some sort of Blood Oath never to collect manmade rocks?  OH MAN DO I HAVE GOOD NEWS.  Let me tell you all about specularite.  It’s a naturally occurring type of hematite that forms in tiny, mirror-bright crystals.  When polished up and given a coat of protective resin finish, it glitters with an even brighter, even more complex galaxy of stars.  Holding a piece of this stuff is amazing, it’s like having a window into the Milky Way.  This is my Prettiest Rock.
Tumblr media
But THIS.  This is undoubtedly one of the coolest rocks I own.  (Everyone I know can attest, I never shut up about this rock.)  This huge chunk of green cubes is fluorite, and there’s something incredible about it that you can’t see under artificial lighting.  Let’s get some sunlight shining on this thing!
Tumblr media
It’s a beautiful sunny day outside, and the rock in my hands is BLUE now!!  It’s not my camera, it’s not an optical illusion, and I haven’t edited the photo.  This rock actually changes color!
Tumblr media
You’ve probably heard of fluorescence, where certain minerals glow or change color under a UV lamp.  This fluorite comes from Rogerley Mine in the UK, and displays the mine’s famous Daylight Fluorescence!  It’s so sensitive to UV radiation that even regular sunlight causes an instant, vibrant color change!  Now’s not the time to Wax Obsessive over the science, but there’s so much Cool Science behind fluorescent minerals.  Daylight fluorescence is also a very, very valuable trait, and this big guy blows my previous Most Expensive Rock out of the water.  I have no regrets.  This rock is beautiful.
Tumblr media
Let’s end on a closeup of those cloudy blue cubes.  Nature did this!  It made this with minerals and sunlight and science!  We’re so lucky to live in a world full of rocks!!
(You can see more of my rocks over here!)

How To Use Animal Crossing Correspondences?
🐘 There are a ton of ways! But a few suggestions are listed below for those curious:
🐘 Inviting specific breeds/individual villagers to your island for their correspondences
🐘 Using names/images of characters in spellwork/altars - especially in secret altars such as colleges or poster collections
🐘 Using character representations for substitutions in spells
🐘 Digital altar using your game/save file
🐘 Using ingredients, crystals, herbs, etc in altars or spells to represent the character for spell work
🐘 Check out @stormwaterwitch‘s Animal Crossing Post for more suggestions!

Fluorite from the Milky Way Pocket of the Diana Maria Mine in Weardale, England
This fluorite is daylight fluorescent, meaning it changes color in the sun! The part that looks blue in this picture is actually a deep green in indoor lighting.

Note
hmmm i wonder, just how many other characters are in your magical girl story? it sounds cool!
The main team, the Red Star Agency, is a team of 16 (17, including Thor) Magis. I know it’s too much, but I went along with that number of members because I wanted to spite Magical Girl Raising Project for saying that 10+ Magical Girls in the world was a valid excuse to murder them all in battle royales.
Like fuck you, Asari Endo. Observe as my team is as big as a K-Pop group and no one dies and everyone lives happily ever after.
Honey Witch Vivi: The leader of the team, a B-Rank Magi. 22 years old, pansexual/genderfluid, brazilian, autistic. Passionate, smart, idealistic, and occasionally the Mom Friend™. Despite being a leader, she sees her teammates as equals and wants to see them succeed. Basically, my self-insert. Is in a polyamorous relationship with other two Magis. Transformation trinket is a heart-shaped locket, her powers are light-based, and her assigned gemstone is Citrine. Weapon of choice is a strawberry quartz wand that can transform into a parasol. Her mascot is a Squirtle named Bubbles (she’s the only one who can understand what her mascot says).
Cupid Harpy Sally: Was once Vivi’s first mascot and dearly beloved childhood toy but later graduates into a Magi herself, a A-Rank Magi. 20 years old (in human years), asexual, wondarian. She’s also Vivi’s adoptive sister. Spunky, sassy, energetic, and sometimes naughty. True to her Magi Title, she can shapeshift her arms into wings. Transformation trinket is a heart-shaped hairclip, her powers are fire-based, and her assigned gemstone is Cherry Quartz. Weapon of choice is a lance (which she calls “Lovely Lance”), and a infinite set of Cherry Bombs.
Star Navigator Amelia: Vivi’s girlfriend (and her childhood friend, as well), a B-Rank Magi. 22 years old, bisexual, brazilian. Loyal, adventurous, mature, and calm. Her design is basically Sayaka Miki (from PMMM) if she didn’t snapped. Was once as Magi dropout due her depression, but got back to magic business thanks to Vivi’s help. Transformation trinket is a golden star medallion, her powers are water-based, and her assigned gemstone is Larimar. Weapon of choice is a rapier/espada ropera.
Pink Soldier Kiki: Vivi’s other girlfriend, a S-Rank Magi. 20 years old, pansexual/gender-neutral, japanese/brazilian, autistic. Creative, brave, charismatic, and bright. Heavily inspired on Kirby (specially on Star Allies), and is able to transform into many disguises and personas. Transformation trinket is a pair of pink bead bracelets, her powers are love-based, and her assigned gemstone is Tourmaline. Weapon of choice is a twirling baton (which it also acts as a stimming toy for her). Her “mascot” is a broomstick named Glinda, that once belonged to Vivi.
Wisp Rider Winona: A Kamen Rider afficionado, a A-Rank Magi. 21 years old, lesbian/non-binary, australian. Athletic, optimistic, clever and a bit of a joker. She has a strong connection with the Wisps (from Sonic Colors), and can emulate their hyper-go-on energy by shapeshifting into them. Transformation trinket is a star-shaped belt buckle, her powers are alien-based, and her assigned gemstone is Emerald. Weapon of choice is a golden hoop (which she calls “Power Ring”).
Cheerful Doll Delilah: A revolutionary doll, a B-Rank Magi. 19 years old, lesbian, wondarian. Elegant, sweet, sensitive, and a bit dramatic. Was a circus ballerina before she became a Magi, and rebelled against her manipulative boss. Has a crush on Winona, and looks up to her. Transformation trinket is a pair of poofy scrunchies (that she uses as bracelets), her powers are music-based, and her assigned gemstone is Rose Quartz.. Weapon of choice is a pair of cheerleader pompoms.
Tech Witch Donovan: A young techie and a ninja, a B-Rank Magi. 21 years old, asexual/biromantic, asian-american. Brainy, dexterous, wise, and introverted. Has a passion for everything that combines magic with technology and can tame demons. Is actually the reincarnation of 2k12!Donatello, after April killed him in the 100th episode. Transformation trinket is a turtle-shaped brooch, his powers are ninja/tech-based, and his assigned gemstone is Spirit Quartz. Weapon of choice is a metal bo staff. His mascots are the spirits of his brothers from another timeline (basically, they are Leo, Mike and Raph that all fell into a spiral of insanity and commited seppuku after Don and Splinter were murdered).
Frost Rabbot Nia: A magical android, a S-Rank Magi. 20 years old (in human years), asexual, wondarian. Logical, curious, intelligent, and a tactical genius. She’s a wondarian project designed to be the perfect Magi. Looks up to Donovan, and thinks of him as a older brother. She consumes Earth’s sci-fi media in order to study their mistakes, and fix them. Transformation trinket is a star-shaped core in her chest, her powers are ice-based, and her assigned gemstone is Sapphire. She has no weapon of choice, because her body is a weapon (not in a creepy and de-humanizing way, I promise!)
Quirky Rebel Nova: A energetic outsider, a A-Rank Magi (later to be promoted to S-Rank due to her awesome violent ways to exterminate Incubators). 21 years old, asexual/panromantic, currently wondarian. Impulsive, persistent, captivating, and a go-getter. She is in reality Star Butterfly, but she ran away from Mewni without leaving a trace, after learning her life was a lie (in the third season episode, The Butterfly Effect); she changes her name to Nova (as in Supernova), and has traveled throughout the Multiverse, training herself to learn magic without a wand. Can transform herself without a transformation trinket, her powers are chaos/wildcard-based, and her assigned gemstone is Fluorite. Weapon of choice is a pair of magic gloves/gauntlets (after giving up her wand). Her mascot is a Sableye named Glitter.
Devilish Clover Perci: A skillful archer, a S-Rank Magi. 22 years old, pansexual/trans, british. Stylish, outspoken, dauntless, and very friendly. One of the most popular Magis, specially due to her control over dark magic. She adopts Nova as her sister, and their personalities clash quite nicely. Transformation trinket is a peridot brooch, her powers are darkness-based, and her assigned gemstone is Sugilite. Weapon of choice is a magic bow (that was previously Nova’s wand).
Milky Angel Holly: A wild angel, a B-Rank Magi. 23 years old, pansexual, american. Unruly, rebellious, lively, and brutally honest at times. Was once one of the best Magis, but a certain happening in her life made her develop trust issues, and she became a delinquent. To get her attitude adjusted, she is assigned to the RSA. She’s designed after Panty Anarchy (from P&SwG), because I shamelessly liked her and I got salty about her sudden and out-of-the-blue “death”. Transformation trinket is a pair of golden hoop earrings, her powers are angel-based, and her assigned gemstone is Angel Aura Quartz. Weapon of choice is a light-molded musket and a halo that acts like a boomerang.
Pretty Punisher Aya: A recovering survivor, a C-Rank Magi. 19 years old, lesbian, japanese. Shy, gentle, soft-spoken, and always doing her best. She’s an alternative version of Asagiri Aya (from Mahou Shoujo Site) if she ever snapped at her bullies, abusive brother and neglective parents and actually have used her magic to kill them all. She becomes part of Wondaria’s rescuing and therapy program, that helps abused earthlings and offers them a chance in becoming Magis themselves. She is later assigned to the RSA to develop her powers better in a non-violent and zero percent toxic environment. She sees Holly as her upperclassman, and wishes to be as brave as her. Transformation trinket is not actually a trinket, but rather her heart tattoo on her left wrist, her powers are healing-based, and her assigned gemstone is Ruby. Weapon of choice is a heart-shaped pistol.
Demonic Witch Ace: A ruthless hero, a S-Rank Magi. 24 years old, pansexual, japanese. Strong, ill-tempered, fiery, but becomes a total dork once you know him better. Real name is Akira, Ace is just a nickname. He’s a half-Oni, cursed to be the successor of the Devilman name, and he has trust issues thanks to that. To everyone’s surprise, Vivi actually manages to break his shell and befriend him. Transformation trinket is a spiky bracelet, his powers are demon-based, and his assigned gemstone is Obsidian. Weapon of choice is a kanabo/iron mace. His mascot is a sizeshifting kitsune named Miki (while not a pokémon, he can understands what the little fox says).
Artsy Chameleon Enzo: A quirky street artist, a B-Rank Magi. 23 years old, pansexual/trans, italian. An artistic soul, always on the move, tricky, and unable to give fucks to anyone who dares to discriminate him. He was kicked out of his house after coming out to his parents, but later became a Magi so he could leave earth to live in Wondaria. He’s best friends with Perci, who’s also pan/trans. Transformation trinket is a leaf-shaped belt buckle, his powers are art/chameleon-based, and his assigned gemstone is Opal. Weapon of choice is a pink baseball bat.
Cursed Maestro Arthur: An anxious fortune-teller, a B-Rank Magi. 23 years old, asexual/polyromantic, filipino. Jittery, cautious, but hardworking and doing his best to become brave. He is the reincarnation of Arthur Kingsmen (from Mystery Skulls Animated), after Lewis killed him. He has the Hellbent Curse, where he becomes aware of how his past life came to an end. He has a crush on Ace, and wants to be as brave as him. Transfromation trinket is a orange bead bracelet, his powers are ghost/music-based, and his assigned gemstone is Japser. Weapon of choice is a conductor baton. His mascot is a Dedenne named Peanut and a scarf named Tempo.
Soul Genie Inka: A rebellious alien, a C-Rank Magi. Older than any human, asexual/non-binary, wondarian. Curious, smart, cheeky, and always eager to learn more about Earth culture. was previously a defective Incubator, who grew tired of stealing souls and spreading despair. Kiki was the only one who believed in them, and later became a Magi when things got tough for her. Transformation trinket is a drop-shaped garnet stone on their chest, their magic is genie/chaos-based, and their assigned gemstone is Pearl. Weapon of choice is their long ponytail.
Mighty Berserker Thor: A broken god, a S-Rank Magi. 24 years old (in human years), bisexual, wondarian (previously asgardian, but Asgard is no more). Approachable, a friend to all, awkward at times, and a tad bit salty (it comes with the trauma). Has yeeted himself of his world with the power of the Infinity Stones because he grew tired of being ridiculed and dealing with a constant streak of despair and death in his life. He was taken in by the RSA, and is treated with such care (which it scared him at first after spending five years in depression), but he eventually warms up to the team and finds once again a motivation to fight and protect. Transformation trinket is his prosthetic arm, his powers are lightning/weather-based, and his assigned gemstone is Sunstone. He has no weapon of choice (as originally intended!); he’s basically a giant living taser. His mascot is a pocket-sized imp that’s actually his brother Loki (he was punished due his past transgressions, and he HATES it).
…phew…! Here it is, the entire team assembled! It was hard, but I’ve had loads of fun with it honestly! It flatters me that you were interested in my dream plot, Anon!

What I want out of season 6;
Townie episodes:
-SUITCASE SAM EPISODE SUITCASE SAM EPISODE SUITCASE SAM EPISODE COME ON WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE MAN
-Nanefua episode! She deserves her own episode!
-Jenny episode, she's the last of the Cool Kids AND the teenagers in Beach City to get her own episode!
-Mr. Fryman’s first name
-Sour Cream’s real name, because there's no way his real name is Sour fucking Cream. Vidalia I can believe. Onion I can believe, because his whole thing is being weird. Yellowtail... I guess. But Sour goddamn Cream? No way. No one can convince me that's not a nickname he got from being pale as fuck and having weird hair. My guess is his name can be abbreviated to S.C., which is another source of the nickname.
-Peedee episode! This child needs an episode that's Not Frybo, and also some joy in his life.
-Kofi Pizza and Mr. Fryman each get their own episodes, besides just restaurant wars
-Jane outgrows her weeb phase and starts dating Kiki
-Smiley and Frowney - where is there relationship as of the end of Future Boy Zoltron? Did they get back together? Did they agree to stay in touch as friends? Did they simply get the closure they needed and then never talk to each other again? Probably the latter, but I'm hoping for one of the former.
-Ronaldo is never seen or heard from again
Gem episodes:
-Jasper Jasper JASPER. I want to see every moment of her redemption arc because holy shit is this girl in for a lot of life-changing information.
-THE ZIRCONS. COME ON. WHERE ARE THEY.
-Topaz comes back and joins the Crystal Gems, as she should have done a season ago
-The conflict comes from a number of Homeworld’s elites hating the idea of an equal society and fighting to make a society where other Gems are still subservient to them. This faction includes Aquamarine. Emerald, the Morganite that Rhodonite mentioned, Holly Blue Agate, at least one Sapphire, and more.
-Formal introductions to Biggs Jasper, Snowflake Obsidian and Larimar!
-Citrines! And Aventurines! And Onyxes and Milky Quartzes! But especially the first two.
-The bubbled Rose Quartzes! I need to see a real Rose Quartz!
-MORE SUNSTONE
-Rhodonite and Fluorite’s components! Come on, we’re long overdue for them as it is.
-Where are Peridot, Lapis Lazuli and Bismuth going to be staying now? Obviously I'm hoping for the Temple, but I'm not that optimistic.
-The corrupted Gems having to make sense of what happened and decide where to stay
-The Off Colors having to make sense of what happened and decide where to stay
-Gemcrust’s Ice and Heliodor make a very brief background, non-speaking cameo at one point as a nod to him

Crystal Questions
Angel aura quartz: when there’s rainy weather, how do you spend your day? indoors or outdoors?
“I do quite like the rain. Though I would not prefer to be rained on. So... indoors? I would imagine there are some that like getting drenched, but I would not say I am one of them.”
Astrophyllite: when people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with?
“Typically it is business related or combat. Very rarely do people come to me for personal problems. Though considering how a great many describe me, I cannot say I am all too surprised.”
Bustamite: what are you looking forward to in the coming months?
“The birth of my children.”
Celestite: what is the most impressive thing you know how to do?
“I would say being a Dragoon is quite impressive. It took turns of training rigorously and the trials nearly had me at my end. Getting to this position was no small feat.”
Dolomite: who never fails to make you laugh? how do they make you laugh?
“My husband, of course. He often makes jokes, I find them quite delightful. For him to have confidence enough to jest about his own afflictions... it makes me feel at ease. Like he has come a long way. Aedida also makes me laugh. She acts very silly at times.”
Fairy quartz: what are some of the small things that make your day better?
“Walking my dogs. Typically, walking my dogs with Killian. It is nice to stroll about the Beds and speak to my husband about my sun. I would say also when working in my office, I have a little basket of felt vegetables that Aedida gave me. They never fail to bring a smile to my face.”
Galena: what is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?
“Take a risk. Especially if it is something you want more than anything. The potential failure will not compare to the regret.”
Heulandite: what’s your morning routine?
“I wake early in the morn, just as the sun is beginning to pool into our room. I dress myself for training - which has significantly lessened due to my current state. Once finished, I then return inside to shower and primp myself. By then, Killian is typically awake and preparing breakfast, and we eat together after feeding the dogs and cat. After such, I take my leave to either my family’s estate or to the north for duties.”
Honey calcite: how do you express your love/affection towards someone (can be friend, lover, family, or crush)?
“Most will find touch is not something I offer to very many. It is a sacred thing to me. To touch one, is to show them my trust. And my affection. The more intimate I am, the more I offer my love to another. I am not very good at expressing my love through words. I think they often sound empty. But I know through my actions, that my feelings are real.”
Iolite: what is something that a ton of people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point of?
“Reputation. I understand the value of one, but... I suppose, not the weight of it? I am very forward with my beliefs, and whether they damage my reputation or not matters very little to me. I do not think my image should deter from my ambition to change the world around me. People can become very shallow in an attempt to uphold their reputation. I cannot say I always feel comfortable at times having to do much the same to hold the reputation of my House to a standard, but I do so more for my mothers sake.”
Kunzite: if money weren’t an issue, what hobby would you pick up?
“Mm. I do not think gil was ever and issue in this regard any how? But... painting? Art in general. I have never been very good at it. I suppose if I could pay for lessons...”
Lazulite: what are some things you’ve had to unlearn? did unlearning them help you grow as a person?
“Shutting myself away from others. It was so much easier in the past... but with my current position and my desires, I have begun to realize I cannot lock who I am away forever. It is dishonest, and I would not look up to a dishonest leader.”
Milky quartz: what’s a topic that fills you with excitement and joy? could you talk about it for hours?
“Killian. Probably. But if I needed to be more reasonable, I would say theology or linguistics. I do love their studies, and I wish to know more about them. Theology especially makes for wonderful conversation... given the right company, of course.”
Rainbow fluorite: how different was your life one year ago? did it change for the better or worse?
“I was a completely different person then. Hidden behind a mask, following the heels of infatuation. So much has changed since then, it feels like centuries ago now. It was for the better, tremendously so.”
Rose quartz: how do you feel about small, intimate gestures like kisses on the forehead, hand brushing against the cheek, etc?
“Mm... they embarrass me. Public displays of affection make me feel uncomfortable. Probably because I like them so much. Only, if they come from someone I care about. I am filled with too much love, you see. It makes it hard to want to contain. Inappropriate, no?”
Selenite: what’s the most heartwarming thing you’ve ever seen?
“Hm...” the woman smiles, “I think that is best left to my own memories.”
Wonderstone: where is the most interesting place you’ve been? would you ever go back?
“Yes. If only I could.”
Zoisite: how are you feeling? what did you do today?
“Not much of any, really. Not outside work, at least. It was a quiet sun. Those can be a blessing.”

How to make your own chakra stone set
Tumblr media
by Michelle Gruben
A chakra stone set is a small collection of gemstones, in which each stone corresponds to one of the body's subtle energy centers. You've probably seen them for sale in metaphysical shops and online.
Chakra stones are used in energy healing and meditation. Witches and Pagans may also use them for spellwork or divination. To the well-practiced crystal user, a chakra set is like a painter's palette. Handling the chakra stones allows the practitioner to focus on a particular vibration (or "colour" of energy), quickly accessing it to achieve his or her aims.
Making your own chakra set is an easy and fun exercise, even for crystal beginners. It's a way to create personalized tool for healing and contemplation. As you assemble your chakra set, you'll learn lots about the various stones and their energetic properties.
In this article, we'll look at how to put together your own set of chakra gemstones. We'll also share some instructions for getting your chakra stones ready to use.
The Colour Method
Tumblr media
The concept of chakras, or psychic energy centers, originated in ancient India and is part of the discipline of Yoga. But Western magick workers have thoroughly adopted the chakra system, thanks in large part to New Age writers in the 1970s and 1980s. The most widely-read book on chakras is probably Wheels of Life, which has sold over 200,000 copies since it was published in 1987.
In New Age thought, there are usually seven chakras. Each chakra corresponds to a different color on the spectrum, with red at the base or Root Chakra, and violet (or white) at the top of the head. The colours represent different frequencies of vibration, from low to high. The idea of a "rainbow" of chakras has been so influential that it shows up in most modern writings on psychic energy.
Making Your Set
Tumblr media
While not everyone agrees whether the colours of the chakras are literally true, the rainbow is indeed a handy metaphor for different types of energy. So we'll use the rainbow concept to help put together our bag of chakra stones. (Bonus: Choosing by color helps you remember which stone goes with which chakra.) We'll also stick with the usual seven chakra system—though you may feel free to adapt your kit to a system with more or fewer chakras.
One more note: For each chakra, I've included a list of suggested crystals or stones. Choose your favourite stone from each category, and end up with a chakra set that's truly unique.
Tumbled gemstones are the most popular for chakra kits, because they're relatively inexpensive and hold up the best to being handled. But crystals can be found in all sizes and shapes. Crystal spheres, wands, discs, pyramids, jewelry, uncut rough stones—any of these can be assembled into chakra sets.
I've tried to balance rare and expensive gemstones with ones that are readily available at most crystal shops. (A few stones appear in more than one list. Choose the attribution you feel is most appropriate.)
Root Chakra
Tumblr media
Associated with the colour Red, the Root Chakra sits at the base of the spine.  It allows one to connect with Earth energy, and is strongly linked to instinct, survival, and the physical body. Many Root Chakra stones, like Red Jasper and Hematite, contain a high concentration of iron.
Just about any red or earth-coloured stone can represent the Root Chakra in your kit. Black gemstones—often associated with protection—are also suitable Root Chakra stones.
Suggested stones for the Root Chakra: Red Jasper, Hematite, Garnet, Black Tourmaline, Obsidian, Mahogany Obsidian, Ruby, Red Tiger's Eye.
Sacral Chakra
Tumblr media
The Sacral Chakra is located near the navel, lower back, and sexual organs. Its color is Orange and it governs passion, pleasure, and creative force.
Since the Sacral Chakra rules appetites, look for stones in bright, mouth-watering colours and pleasing textures. Our favourite Sacral Chakra crystal has got to be Carnelian—a vibrant red-orange gem whose name means "fleshy."
Suggested stones for the Sacral Chakra: Carnelian, Amber, Pink Moonstone, Citrine, Orange Calcite, Sunstone, Gold Sandstone.
Solar Plexus Chakra
Tumblr media
Located in the middle of the body (just below the rib cage) the Solar Plexus Chakra is the center of personal power. Strength, charisma, confidence, and willpower are attributes that it controls. It's linked to the colour Yellow. When shopping for Solar Plexus stones, look for a yellow-gold colour, and/or stones with sparkles and rays.
Suggested stones for the Sacral Chakra: Tiger's Eye, Citrine, Yellow Calcite, Ametrine, Rutilated Quartz, Yellow Aventurine, Yellow Jasper, Yellow Sapphire.
Heart Chakra
Tumblr media
The Heart Chakra allows one to experience love, generosity and empathy. Its main functions are processing emotions and connecting with others' energy.
Green is the colour usually assigned to the Heart Chakra, and there are many, many green stones that are excellent for Heart Chakra work. But some stones on the list are pink or mixed colours. Not to worry. Remember: The earliest texts on pranic energy don't mention chakra colours, so it is likely that chakras of yogic and tantric traditions were colourless. Pick a stone that screams "heart energy" to you, regardless of the colour.
Suggested stones for the Heart Chakra: Green Aventurine, Jade, Emerald, Rose Quartz, Pink Sapphire, Peridot, Unakite, Green Calcite, Green Fluorite, Rhodonite, Malachite, Chrysocolla.
Throat Chakra
Tumblr media
The Throat Chakra is linked to colour Blue, and it governs communication, self-expression, and truth. Situated between the head and the heart, it helps to mediate between thought and emotion. It's no big surprise that most of the stones on this list are in shades of blue.
Suggested stones for the Throat Chakra: Sodalite, Lapis Lazuli, Blue Kyanite, Blue Tiger's Eye, Blue Goldstone, Amazonite, Turquoise, Blue Apatite.
Brow Chakra
Tumblr media
Also called the "third eye," the Brow Chakra is located just above the eyes, between the eyebrows. Its color is Purple, and visualization, dreaming, and intuition are some of its functions. Working with the Brow Chakra helps to awaken psychic gifts (and perception in general).
When choosing crystals that vibrate with the Brow Chakra, deep blue or violet stones are recommended. Stones with iridescence or moving patterns are also very stimulating to the light-sensitive third eye.
Suggested gemstones for the Brow Chakra: Amethyst, Lapis Lazuli, Purple (or Rainbow) Fluorite, Shungite, Labradorite, Moonstone, Opal, Kyanite.
Crown Chakra
Tumblr media
Located just above the head, the Crown Chakra is the body's link with celestial and/or Divine energy. Just as White combines all the colours of the rainbow, a fully-functioning Crown Chakra blends all of body's diverse energies into a unified being.
Crown Chakra gemstones tend to be clear or white in colour. They are though to be the stones with the highest and purest vibrations.
Suggested gemstones for the Crown Chakra: Clear Quartz, White Moonstone, Opalite, Selenite, Angelite, White Sapphire, Apophylite, Milky Quartz, Celestite, Moldavite.
Putting it all together
Tumblr media
Pretty soon, you should have collected seven (or five or nine or ten) stones to go in your chakra set.
If one of the stones doesn't feel right, or doesn't appear to be playing nice with the others, then kick it to the curb. (I mean, gratefully place it somewhere to be re-purposed.) Keep shuffling rocks around until you have a set that represents the chakras to you.
Next, you'll want a home for your stones. A dedicated bag or box keeps the set from accumulating physical and psychic dust when not in use.
Depending on what stones you've picked out, some of them may need to be stored separately from the rest. Softer materials can pick up dings and scratches from their pokier neighbors. Selenite and Fluorite, for instance, are fragile divas. To avoid the problem, choose gems that are close on the Mohs scale. Or, work out a way to keep them in separate bags or compartments.
Finally, as with any magickal tool, it's a good idea to cleanse and bless your chakra stones. Use your favourite crystal cleansing method. There are several effective methods: Smudging, sunlight or moonlight, water (if it won't harm the stones you've chosen), other crystals, visualization, and breath. Set your intention that these stones will be your partner on your journey of learning and healing.
Attuning chakra stones
Tumblr media
If you like, you can follow the cleansing process with an attunement exercise. This is definitely recommend if you've made the chakra set for your own personal practice. Basically, attuning your stones allows each one to get acquainted with the energy center it's going to represent.
To attune your chakra set, dim the lights, light some candles or incense--whatever helps you get into a meditative state. Take a few deep breaths and let go of any energy build-ups or distracting thoughts.
Starting with your Root Chakra stone, place each stone in turn over the chakra that it corresponds to. You will be adding the stones one by one, until you're "wearing" all of them. (Unless you have a lot of hands, the easiest way to do this is lying on your back.)
You can use a diagram of the chakras to help you place the stones—but remember chakras can be in slightly different places on different individuals. You will know the first stone is placed correctly by its feel. Some people experience the feeling as equilibrium, or heaviness, or a light tingling vibration. I like to describe it has a ball settling into a hole in the ground—once it's in the right place, it tends to stay comfortably settled.
Once the stone is placed on the chakra, gather some of the energy in that chakra and send a little pulse outward. This is similar to directing energy with your hands, but the energy starts in and exits directly from the chakra center. It may take the form of a beam, or a ball, or small petals of energy reaching outward.
Wait for a reply. You may feel the stone either absorbing the energy or reflecting it back to you (or a little of both, or nothing at all.) Take another breath, and try it again. Let the stone and the energy of your body "talk" until they feel as if they are in harmony. Do this until the stone can't possibly accept any more energy, or you sense that the dialogue has stopped.
Leaving the Root Chakra stone in place if possible, move on to the Sacral Chakra. Repeat the stone-charging process. Though you will be focusing on attuning only one stone at a time, you will have a gentle awareness of all the tones you have charged so far. Remove the stones in the reverse order, starting with the Crown Chakra and working down to the Root Chakra.
To check your work, put the chakra stones in a bag or on a table and gently run your receptive hand over them. Do you feel a difference in energy between the stones? Some may feel warmer or cooler than the others, or appear to vibrate faster or slower. (That's good!) If you did an exceptional job of attuning the stones to your body, you may even feel sensation in one of your chakras when holding the matching stone.
Your chakra set is now ready for energetic healing, divination, and meditating on the chakras. Chakra stones may need to be cleansed and re-attuned periodically to keep them working their best.

any Gems that you think might have ice/snow powers?
Hm, how about these gemstones? Some are birthstones from winter months. While others are what kind of gems I could find that talked about their association with water/ice, or have colors/patterns that resemble snow, ice, or winter. I also included a few gemstones that come from colder countries/states as their main mining source.
Agate (Agates are quartzes- specifically a variety of Chalcedony- that come in a variety of colors, including blues and whites. Lace agates- especially blue or white lace agate can look like snow drifts.)
Anglesite (A clear to white gem that looks icy.)
Anhydrite/Angelite (A mineral that can be a nice wintry blue.)
Anorthite (A rare member of the Feldspar family, which includes Labradorite and Moonstone. It is often in white or clear coloration.)
Aragonite (A mineral that comes in various colors, including clear, white, or blue. The formations its crystals form in can often look icy in one way or another.)
Barite (It is also a mineral that comes in blues and whites. Its crystal form looks like ice pillars or sheets.)
Calcite (A mineral that can be clear or white, often looking like snow or ice.)
Celestine (Another white to blue gem with icy colors. Some of it resembles sheet ice or glaciers.)
Cerussite (A beautiful mineral that often forms in unique looking crystals. The crystals often look like pieces of snowflakes or ice!)
Chalcedony (A type of quartz that is smooth and elegant looking. It can be in various colors, like white or blue. Its white druzy form looks like snow as well.)
Colemanite (A clear to white icy looking mineral. It can develop an electric charge with temperature change, so it could potentially have ice powers and electric powers in one.)
Cryolite (A white colored mineral. Its name comes from the greek word for frost because of its appearance. And it is often mined in Greenland.)
Dumortierite Quartz (A type of clear quartz with inclusions of Dumortierite. It’s sort of like a gem snow globe with the blue inclusions~)
Fluorite (A gemstone that comes in many different colors, including blues and whites, as well as clear.)
Garnet (Birthstone of January. Page has some examples of different types of garnets.)
Hemimorphite (A pretty blue mineral that can range from blue-green, to light blue, to white. It can form in orb like shapes, or in crystals that look like icy pillars.)
Ice, and its various forms. (Technically ice counts as a mineral because its fits the requirements to be a mineral.)
Iceland Spar (A clear type of Calcite found in Iceland.)
Kernite (A pretty white to clear mineral that looks icy.)
Kyanite (A blue to light blue gem, sometimes with white streaks. It is a gemstone associated with water. It is also a refractorymineral, meaning it is heat resistant- a good trait for a gem based on cold powers.)
Labradorite (A gemstone found in Labradore, Canda, as well as places like Finland or Norway. It is heavily associated with the northern lights, which are usually seen in colder areas close to the poles. It is also associated with the water element. These factors make it a good candidate for snow and ice powers.)
Moonstone (A well known white to blue gemstone, its colors can resemble the moon or a shimmering snowflake. A star Moonstone could work extra well, especially with six rays, as it could resemble a snowflake.)
Muonionalusta (A silvery mineral found in Scandinavia, it’s zigzagging lines slightly resemble the designs of snowflakes under the microscope.)
Mica/Muscovite (A fragile mineral that forms in sheets. It is often shiny, and forms in hexagonal shapes, much like snowflakes.)
Opal (Opals can come in a huge variety of colors and appearances; the page linked shows some varieties that can occur. A white to blueish color opal could likely have ice or snow based powers, and the rainbow diffraction can resemble diamond dust in some examples. Inclusions like in this opal can also create a neat, snow-like effect)
Opalite (Man-made glass that displays opalescence. It could be a gem with ice/snow powers for similar reasons as Opal.)
Phenakite (A mineral that has clear crystals, some of which can heavily resemble ice.)
Sapphire (Sapphires in the show has shown ice powers.)
Selenite (A type of Gypsum. It can come in clear to white coloration. It can resemble ice or snow in some forms.)
Silver (A shimmering metal, its silvery color and ornamental usage throughout history makes it an elegant mineral and potentially a good candidate for snow and ice powers. Its crystalline form is also resembles many ice crystals.)
Smithsonite (A mineral that can come in many colors, especially blues and a wintery green. It can also be white to clear colored. Its smooth, rounded surface can look like snowballs or soft snow.)
Snow Quartz (An alternate name for Milky Quartz.)
Strontianite(A pale colored to white mineral, its crystals can look like ice or ice crystals.)
Tanzanite (Alternate birthstone for December.)
Tourmaline (Able to come in a vast variety of colors, including blue and white. Blue Tourmaline is often associated with water, which could be used as a basis for ice/snow powers.)
Turquoise (Birthstone of December.)
Vivanite (Normally a green color, but it can be clear and blue.
I hope this suits your needs!
