Being clear and direct with them. None of this beating around the bush thing people often do to be polite. You think they're doing something wrong? Call them out. You want to suggest something to them? Speak up. It's this behavior that they are not used to and would suddenly find it fascinating in a way.

Akiyo

Compliments. Very simple casual complements coming from a specific individual continuously would have their heart racing. After a while of course. People find Akiyo as an annoying know it all and rarely complement them as they assume they get plenty for being so smart- they don't.

Saeko

Taking your time with her! She's quite behind the rest when it comes to emotions, and normal physical things friends or lovers do together. Even something as simple as a head pat. Seeing that you aren't annoyed with her slow pace or brushing her off would make her feel a certain way about you. But she'll assume she's just sick and has a heart flu ☝

Dante

Emotional support. Being on his side, backing him up for anything and everything. Even though you're best friends, it still makes his heart race. You actually believe in him! This could brighten not only his day but his life.

Kaisen

Physical touch. This would be like hand holding, hugs, back rubs and all that. He'd express some disguised sound or movement like saying "ughh, emotional stuff"- or shrink away dramatically from an on coming pat, but this is only to disguise the fact that he's been touch starved since forever. He simply doesn't know how to react and genuinely enjoys it. Enough to make his cheeks redeem sometimes.

Fai

Just having a conversation and showing genuine interest AND as a bonus, returning to talk to him, because you're interested in him. You will baffle him for a long while and make him wonder why you keep on returning when he has nothing to offer- he doesn't even talk so why are you interested in this one sided conversation? but he'll slowly find himself looking forward to your encounters.

Zephyr

Clear persistence. When I say Zephyr has turned down a number of people, I mean he turned down a number of people. Their lack of persistence is what he finds annoying as he concludes that they weren't looking for something serious if they were dissuaded that fast. A person actually set on him would intrigue Zephyr and even thought you might not see any "progress", believe me, there's huge progress.

Honesty. Something about a naive, honest or just "too nice for their own good" type of a person has a strange effect over her. Very strange. She'd flirt randomly on reflex by saying stuff like "why hello there, come around here often cutie?" And a response like "Oh no, Its actually my first time here!" Would have her doubling over in laughter instantly. It's cute.

Mionii/Miokai/Mio - They don't really like vegetables but they never had a choice on their repast. And it's because of this that they'd start scolding whoever doesn't like vegetables.

"what do you mean they're disgusting?? Just say you don't have taste and just want to eat pies and all that!"

*proceeds to whack you on the head with a rolled up newspaper while scolding you loudly*

Akiyo - Does enjoy eating vegetables and would be honestly concerned if you didn't eat them.

Saeko - eats vegetables. You don't it vegetables? Oh. K.

Dante - doesn't like it much but won't puke if he eats it. Would offer to shred the vegetables so they don't feel just as disgusting.

"if I shred it all up and add it in the soup that way, would you eat it?"

*patiently waiting with vegetables in hand and ready to put them away if you refuse. He would never force anyone!*

Kaisen - finds it ludicrous, crazy of the author to do that! But actually doesn't care and wants to light an argument on fire and sit back.

"oh my, that's horrendous of you author! Person A said people who don't eat veggies are dumbasses last week"

*fight goes down and he just steps away and watches from a distance with a creepy proud grin*

Fai - does not understand why you wouldn't like it but doesn't say... I mean doesn't make a fuss about it.

Zephyr - finds whoever this author is as a disgrace to mankind.

🎭 they act the exact same with other nobles, mid-class people and "peasants". The only person they'd act different to is someone they were comfortable enough with to confide in. Currently, they don't have anyone like that.

Akiyo

📣 They aren't loud nor are they soft spoken. Just a perfect balance.

🎭 Akiyo tends to speak on a "get to the point" type of way with people but would take their time to express themselves better if they thought the person they were with was trusted and actually cared.

Saeko

📣 A bit to the loud side, but not yelling kind of loud like M. It is more of a that one person that just can't whisper type of loud.

🎭 They tend to act the same with everyone. Just as blunt and stoic. Saeko has a habit of leaving right after talking with a person but might linger aroun if she liked being around you.

Dante

📣 Quite loud. Sorry, he's just too hyper in a way most of the time.

🎭 Is just as nice with everyone but has an excited glint in his eyes when around people he actually appreciates. People like Mc.

Kaisen

📣 is quite quiet when he needs to be.

🎭 kaisen is the king of changing to adapt to situations. He is not the same with everyone. If he deems someone to be suspicious, he might switch up his behavior towards the person in question in hopes of changing the situation in his favour in the long run.

Fai

📣 Fai does not speak. Fai cannot speak.

🎭 He is an anti-social person so he often stays away from people as much as possible. Him willingly being around you for more than 20 minutes should be enough to know you are one of the rare people he likes being around.

Zephyr

📣 Loud and Commanding tone. Not yelling but in a no nonsense type of way.

🎭 He acts just as professional with anyone and everyone. He'd only be comfortable around a selection of close people. He'd do things like smile, laugh or lean into his chair and close his eyes, huffing in exhaustion. Something he wouldn't do in the presence of others.

Salami and grapes. Someone told her it would attract fireflies to her at night if she at some and she did. Disappointing enough, no fireflies showed up that night :(

baked beans–and–egg pizza. Dante often goes to food stalls at festivals and had an unfortunate encounter one day with this one uncle.

Exhibitions such as crystal rooms or museums.

Stuff like this fit into M's preferences perfectly. They don't have to do much but look at artifacts and pretend like they're trying to find out the meaning of life. A typical thing nobles do to look smarter and more believably elegant. It irks them but only because they genuinely enjoy staring at crystal's for it's beauty. No talking or trying to always out match a noble. It's just you and the mesmerizing crystal.

Going through new huge libraries

Akiyo finds just searching through libraries comforting. It's not only the book's info but the feeling of a library, the scent, scenery and atmosphere all together. It's quite similar to people who listen to natural scenario based asmr for comfort (the ones without talking!)

Something similar to darts

Note darts aren't really a thing in this era so instead of the dart and board, Saeko uses various planks embedded into the ground and replaced darts with sharp pieces of wood she sharpens herself. The wood would usually be around 7.5 inches to 12 inches, which is way longer than a traditional dart (the size of a ruler, if you're wondering.)

Dante is a Foodie

Dante has grown to be a foodie (and doesn't even gain weight! Lucky >:( ) The growth of this hobby was caused by him often taking Mc to festivals and both of them going stall by stall to try everything. He even later on begins finding himself going there alone. He really loves all kinds of foods, even traditional ones!

Kaisen

Stage plays, sculpting and singing.

Quite an all-rounder isn't he? A jack of all trades would be the best discription. Kaisen is quite a perfectionist when it comes to skills and along the line of conning, he has found himself stuck with three specific skills. Well two now as he dropped one. Stage acting played a major role in his upbringing and later on had just about enough, still claiming "the play never ended" as he references to his life being one big play. Sculpting and Singing are things he found himself doing out of view point though, preferring to keep these... strangely enjoyable moment to himself. One day he might show you?

Stargazing

Somewhat quite similar to M, Fai considers stargazing to be a great hobby of his. Watching the stars shift around and blink in different orders is just fun. Yes, stars literally shift around at night and blink in rows at a specific time in Kobat (and it only can be seen from Kobat for some reason? Why's that?). Stargazing doesn't require much disruptions and interactions so it's perfect for him. Plus it's at night where almost everyone everywhere is asleep. Perfect silence.

Zephyr

Cooking

Zephyr and Dante would get along really well lol. Zephyr's hobby is cooking! Don't mistake this for making dishes and eating, as people would normally do. It's more of cooking for someone. Zephyr is a head leader of a certain squad in the S.Royal.G division and has three other members. He often finds himself cooking for them, much to their appreciation and overbearing praise.

Tbh I have some stuff going down in me-

I've always been WAAAY too nice for my own good and of course you attract trashy people when you're like that and you get treated horribly (indirectly, of course and you won't realize right away)

So because of stuff like this I started projecting a sort of chill, levelheaded, sarcastic and somewhat cunning persona to get a certain level of respect.

(you might recognize these traits from Kaisen, Akiyo, Saeko, and Zephyr)

Most, if not all, my friends fall under this category and I find myself protecting them quite often (as I should.) and in I sense they also forgot I'm a very well hidden panic ready to happen.

Just wish I had them earlier in my life.

👤 only had an uncle. Both parents died of natural deaths.

Relationship with uncle - Somewhat nonexistent at first. They only regret not bonding with said deceased uncle after his death.

Saeko

👩‍👧 - Only has a mother, father is deceased.

Relationship with dad - Saeko is sensitive about her father's death and has had a huge impact on her as a person.

Relationship with mother - decent enough. More distant after her father's death, much to her mother's misery.

Dante

👩‍👩‍👦 - has two mothers!

Relationship with first mother - heavily positive. Really appreciate her as she spoils him and is a happy magnet often.

Relationship with second mother - okay. Not as great as his first mom but it's not bad. She's just more stern and strict.

🍧Object? Nothing really to keep with till they grew up. The most closest thing to having something significant would be a seeing orb they got from a mage that worked for another noble (their family had left to visit said nobles) and they were given a pair of palm-sized orbs. One for them and another for their future best friend to communicate via blinking lights. Of course due to their snobby behavior no one wanted to be genuine friends with them and they had discarded it, convincing themselves they didn't care.

Akiyo

🍧A specific book. Their uncles journal to be precise.

It is very important as they only began to look up to their uncle after his death. Which they regret heavily.

They actually do "lose it" in a way. They find pages, valuable pages, torn out one day and go about investigating which leads them to attend The Kabot Tournament.

🍧His left arm chain. It was a gift on his debuting year (age 18) and holds value to it.

If he had lost it he would be for afraid to tell his parents than angry on how, why or who lost it.

Kaisen

🍧Has always had an investigating set for children tucked somewhere in his home (doesn't use it anymore but still holds value to it) and loves remembering everything he used to do.

Fai

🍧Doesn't have a specific object or anything close. Wasn't given a gift in his life to begin with. Maybe he'll get something from you?

Zephyr

🍧Also doesn't have anything from his childhood as it fully and only consisted of training and being a good example for other kids and having them look up to him. (Even thought he was a kid too and deserved to have some childish childhood memories.) It just was how his life was meant to be. To serve.

RO’s inner thoughts when they’re developing feelings for MC?

Why am I so excited to answer this? XD

Some of the ROs react and start developing feelings for the mc differently if the mc has a different personality. So you can ask "Zephyr with a shy mc" and I'll explain their thoughts with that mc.

For this post, I'm explaining their main tropes I guess.

Btw this is a long post...so I'mma put the read more thingy

Mionii/Miokai/Mio

They are...not going to be friendly when you first meet them and whether you're nice or nonchalant about their behavior, their opinion of you will be the same. When you tolerate their reactions and reply without a beat (making them guilty and slowly responding nicer to you until due to future events they'll begin falling for you.)

Development would go from:

Disinterest/annoyance (towards their situation but they tend to take it out on people :/) -> Bafflement/starts being nicer ("you dare speak like that to a prince/princes/noble!?" Or "why are they so nice?" Ect.) -> tsundere-like interest (developing feelings)

Akiyo

Akiyo is quite snarky too in their own way but not unprovoked like M. A way to have them develop feelings fast would be banter. Snarky remarks bouncing off each other will catch their interest fast.

Their thoughts on the Mc will differentiate with their personality but they'll want to know more about you if you interact with them a lot.

Development would go from:

Disinterest -> slow curiosity -> amused banter -> open feelings developed (they don't bother hiding it but don't go out of their way to show it)

Saeko

Saeko is one of the difficult ones to crack. her first initial thoughts would be "another person" and she'll move on because at the end of the day, she's there with a specific intention, not to make friends (you'll get some Todoroki vibes from her 😭). The only way to get her to develop feelings would be openly flirting with her cuz she's reaaaally clueless.

Development would go from :

Nonchalant -> suspicious -> accepting your strange flirting behavior as your normal self-> notices you don't act the same with others (if you flirt with all the ros she'll not think much of your flirting) -> interest if you talk about it directly to her directly (developing feelings)

Dante

Dante would not have a strangers to lovers trope since you know each other so if you flirt with him a lot and start flirting with others abruptly, he will take notice and be jealous, but not openly since he is aware you are not in a relationship (yet)

Development would go from:

Best friends -> confused best friends (are you just best friends?) -> rapidly developing feelings -> discouraged (if you flirt with others or/and just Dante feeling like he's not worth you :( )

Fai

Fai is somewhat dense when it comes to feelings like Saeko so this will either have to be from his own thoughts (notices how nice you are too EVERYONE and thinks you're such an angel :-:) or you're open about your feelings/discouraged moments with him (developing a protective relationship with him)

Development would go from:

Nice strangers (hi new team member!) -> sudden engrossment (interest in your MC's personality, whether you hide it or not, Fai is good with understanding people when it comes to feelings) -> Developing feelings slowly (but won't act on it thinking it's unwanted attention) -> more feelings once you return it!

Zephyr

Now Zephyr is a tough nut to crack, he's like a rude Tenya Iida. All he wants to do is WORK WORK WORK (on the competition and stuff yk) so no matter what you do, expect to be openly dismissed. Once he starts liking you though, he'll reject you and shoo you away only you mentally cackle and smile a bit (when he thinks no one is looking) when you walk away sulking.

Development would go from:

Workaholic/annoyed dude ("Mc take it seriously!" >:( ) -> understanding (once you're more genuine with him and relay on him, he'll get a better picture of who you are) -> False rejection (rejecting but not actually not liking you) -> more feelings developing!

Kaisen

Kaisen without spoiling too much, is suspicious of you at first and for a good while cautious (not openly). There will be options for a shy mc to try to fake being bold to flirt with him, a rude mc trying to be nice to him ect. All I'll say is those will be...interesting hehehe

Development would go from:

Suspicious boi -> more suspiciousness (watching your every move ;) -> amusement with a faking mc -> returning the strange behavior to get a reaction (for investigation obviously ☝️) -> genuine feelings developed!

Miss reducted has somewhat little to no interest in you too and will comment on your "pretty face" quite a lot. Commence the crushing faze from your side at your own risk XD. Her main trope would be the Super nice "hero" vibe giving mc x her negative reputation clashing.

Development would go from:

Zero love interest -> flirt (for fun cuz why not? she's bored and needs to do SOMETHING while she's stuck with you) -> attentive flirting (starts noticing your reactions as a person and finds it even more delightful and fascinating) -> retraction (starts developing feelings but pulls back. She can't be soft for no one) -> too late. She likes you :,)

The obnoxious heir you'll be stuck with for a while. Might as well get comfortable? They're hot-headed and come across as fussy at first glance but you'd be stunned to see how they behave towards people they admire.

Akiyo | The Rich Mage | [F]

Akiyo is a well known mage from the neighboring country dispatched to Kabot to go on the event just like the rest of the contestants. Having a not so subtle appearance, what exactly is her motive for being there?

Saeko | Vengeful Executioner| [F]

Saeko, not bothering to conceal her intentions, claims to attend this year's Kabot to have an opportunity of battling a particular individual. Her cold and calm demeanor is enough to make the most composed slightly anxious.

Dante | Slick-Tongued Rah | [M]

Your truest friend since childhood, Dante has been with you since you were first discovered. As loyal as ever, he decides to join the Kabot Tournament along with you as he refuses to let you go alone. But is his intentions really that?

Zephyr | Glad-of-War | [M]

The Battle god, as some might call him, Zephyr being from a well known family of knights, enters the tournament much to everyone else's fear and resentment. With his level of skill all you can do is hope he isn't the opposition.

Fai | The Gentle Mute | [M]

A quiet man that often secludes himself away from other contestants, he appears to enjoy spending time with animals rather than people. One can only wonder what he's really like with his emotions.

Kaisen | The Sleepy Mod | [M]

One of the Modakabots in charge of overlooking the tournament. Describing him as blunt and dry would be an understatement as he lacks a filter. But with all the connections he has being a Modakabot, does he know more than he is letting on?

A heavily sarcastic and conflict-loving woman would be the best way to interpret her as it is impossible to dismiss the wild grin across her lips as she fights, taunting her opponents till they wreck. With her intense persona, one does wonder what her reason is for attending the tournament.

Rem | Egocentric merchant | [M]

Rem is a not so friendly merchant who is assigned in your group, ready for battle alongside you. Ready for battle until you realize he is a merchant in a tournament filled with a high possibility of death and he is, again, in your group. His rude behavior at first conflict is enough for any friendliness towards him from anyone to disappear even from the nicest person. Good luck being grouped with him :)

Kaitlin | Friendly air-head | [F]

Kaitlin can only be described as naive as you will have to drag her away from even drinking a bottle of water clearly labeled as poison. She is too nice for her own good and it might be your responsibility to make those tough decisions for the poor gal.

Nag Walan | The Town Witch | [F]

The old crazy lady in your village. Her actual name is known as she goes by what people have named her now, Nag Walan (crazy lady). Your relationship with her is all up to you as she may be your number one supporter in the tournament!

A sort of balcony date? Very vague but the idea of having a meal with you from a high view (without the annoying trees and wind from a cliff) sounds super appealing to them!

Akiyo

A sort of writing concourse of sorts. Basically like a writing convention where lots of people display their verbal and prewritten art. The choice to write a poem for fun with a partner is available and they'd like to take you one day.

Saeko

(saeko is currently bluntly asking how you would be able to hand over everything in the world to her and is looking too deep into it-)

A perfect date would be to buy something like board games and stay with you inside. Going out is not something she enjoys and often needs time to recover, and who better to recover with than you!

Dante

A food fare date! Walking past lots of stalls/shops and tasting almost everything on the menu is a very fun way to spend some time with you in his opinion. He'll get to know what your favorite meal is and remake it for you one day!

Kaisen

A walk of sorts. Be it a normal walk around the town or at a place specifically for walking dates? Kaisen isn't much of a fan of sitting so something practical (but not too practical. He's a lazy guy :-:) would be perfect?

Fai

A little meet up with his friends... Okay his animal friends to be specific. Due to his ??? ?????? ???????? ?? ???? He developed ??? ??????? ?? ???? ?? animals. He'd really like you to meet his squirrel friends, Fiori to be specific!

Zephyr

A rock climbing sort of date? Not with other people though, just the both of you. You'd have to remind him it's a date and not a training drill a lot though as you'd randomly hear him yell behind you "posture straight soldier! And tighten you grip!"
