When Steven is introduced to a mirror that can answer questions by Pearl, he befriends the said mirror that can mysteriously communicate with him through recordings, not noticing that there’s a gem in the back. “Mirror Gem” premiered on this day, 10 Years Ago.
Wanted to do some personal stuff between work so I went back to my baby artist roots and redrew a Steven Universe screencap…one of my first gay crushes on god
I’ve been meaning to repaint this Lapis piece for the longest time and I finally got around to it. I love doing these character arc focused pieces. They make me so happy!
The way Pearl stands in this image is so thug ass gangster holy hell it's so badass.
Okay also
So I have, let's say, I think part of this is my autism but something that I've dealt with my whole life is: I have a NEED for things to be symmetrical & always in a particular order. Like if a room isn't set up "right" my mind just is bothered by it & I have an urge to "fix" it. So seeing Pearl REACT EXACTLY HOW I DO JUST...man it made me feel seen. I'm not alone in that weird quirk. Idk what it is but it's nice to know it's not just me that has that. I cried a little bit & I'm not ashamed to admit that. It really did mean that much to me. Pearl just became even more precious to me too.
I HAVE KNOWN LAPIS LAZULI FOR LESS THAN 5 MINUTES BUT I IMMEDIATELY LOVE HER & SHE IS THE SECOND BEST CHARACTER ON THE SHOW ONLY SECOND TO MY QUEEN PEARL
Also apparently she's like Moses but way cooler.
Anyways Garnet was genuinely so intimidating this episode. LIKE SEEING HER AFTER STEVEN SLAPPED HER IS SCARIER THAN MOST HORROR MOVIES. BRO SHES A FUCKING UNSTOPPABLE FORCE OF ASSKICKING.
🤍💙Free From The Mirror💙🤍
LQ AU redraw from the seen of Lapis first forming! Honestly one of the nicest bits of animation from the show, with how slow and delicately her bow and skirt and hair settle down…
