for the last week of mistholme may, i'm finally posting this ux design project i did here!! its essentially a website design for the mistholme museum in-universe, and though it isn't perfect i'm really proud of how it came out ^_^ thank you to the mistholme server for being such a cool bunch when i originally posted this there :]
some pics are censored bc i took them myself, but hey its not not museum funkiness
the disclaimer section is actually up to date up until roughly early s6!! totally worth the effort imo
the weird video file sizes is bc i didnt standardise it and barely tested it but it's fine we ball (said with much stress)
michael afton is there bc it was the first filler name i could think of and i didnt end up changing it, apologies to the, if real, head of patronage
godfrey audio guide mention! i like the idea of them being a partner to the mistholme museum its cool
crystal skull my beloved, always destined to be incomplete
most buttons dont work regretfully, youll just have to admire the pretty text
the social media section contains weverse (social media for kpop stars) bc my sister thought it would be funny and it was hilarious to think abt kpop star guide
heres one more extra vid if yall r interested haha

[image description: a digital poster in a minimalistic art style. four square isometric rooms with a red and a yellow wall and a white floor are arranged across the white canvas. parts of the rooms are cut out in a way that together they result in the silhouette of a man. cut out from old photographs, each of the rooms contains one object: an old blues guitar, a ceiling light, a ring of keys and an old flute. red text that is arranged in line with the isometric perspective if the rooms reads "the man with a voice like honey & chocolate & coffee all at once." at the bottom left is the logo of the mistholme museum with the colours changed to match the red and yellow of the illustration.
we had to make posters in 1930s style in class so i made one for the man with the voice :) exhibits are s1/2 centric but it works timelessly i think

Thoughts about The Mistholme Museum of Mystery, Morbidity, and Mortality now that I’m caught up (spoilers!):
1. Goddamn this fandom is tiny. Possibly the smallest I’ve ever been a part of. It’s an honor to fight alongside you, gents.
2. I firmly believe that being called Mistholme makes Guide uncomfortable. It obviously has a negative connotation (what with the name being used against it), but also it continues to introduce itself to people as “Guide” even after discovering its true name. It also never corrects the directors on name, though it has been shown to be capable of standing up for itself in similar situations.
3. There is SUCH good potential for emotional whump with this one. I'm brewing as we speak.
4. The fact that every item in the museum has the potential to be another Chekov's gun is so exciting, and I find myself trying to figure out how each story might aid in the overall narrative. I've never done this before while listening to other podcasts that follow the "individual, episodic accounts of horror or surrealism overlaid an overarching story usually involving an institution or investigation falling to pieces due to the horrors/surrealism" framework. If i had a nickel…
5. Do you know how refreshing it is to have characters who use nonbinary pronouns be as common as those who use binary pronouns? Very, it's very refreshing. In all 200 episodes of TMA, there were, what, 4? None of whom were voice acted or played any major role. Here in Mistholme we have The Guide, The Beast, The Man with the Voice, and the Curator (though we have yet to meet them). Plus many other people mentioned related to the exhibits.
6. I really like the sound design in this one. It's simple, only really being used when necessary, but that makes it effective. Mistholme is very well balanced, too. I've struggled to listen to some other podcasts in the past coughEskewcough because of poor volume balancing.
That's it for now, but I'll add on to this if I have anything more to say

I switched from Spotify to Pocketcasts in July, meaning my wrapped is skewed toward the last four months, but here it is!
Unsurprisingly, @re-dracula was my top podcast this year. You can also see that I finally decided to try Wolf 539, Mistholm Museum, and The Silt Verses; and have been greatly enjoying all three!
I'm still keeping up with hfth, though it's at the bottom of the list because of the switch

For all the audio drama conceits I’ve come across, the Audio Tour Guide’s “narrates when it’s nervous” coping mechanism has to be one of the best and cutest

another one
the idea for this one was very much inspired by the Narratorverse, specifically Pollux (@kirchefuchs and also @anon-thelocal for good measure) and @janirah 's narrator whose name I believe is Birds (hope I'm not annoying any of you by tagging you, if so then I apologize)
like before, redraws are fine as long as I'm credited, I wanna see ppl's drawings
👍
