an unexpected encounter ۶ৎ l. freigang
Tumblr media
summary: in which you found your soulmate, in an unexpected way. lohmann!reader
pairing: laura freigang x lohmann!reader
Tumblr media
soulmates, can either be romantically or platonically. it was proven that seventy percent of the world were born with soulmates, either a platonic one or a romantic one. the thirty percent, or the latter wasn’t born with a soulmate tattoo, or it had disappeared as their soulmate had already departed from this world before they’ve ever got to meet them.
you’d be able to tell through the tattoo that was marked on your skin, mainly located at the wrist. whether it was designed with a heart, signifying a romantic one—or an arrow, for a platonic one. yet your soulmate tattoo had been linked with a heart, a small football tattoo signaling your soulmate’s tattoo.
it was something that caught sydney, your younger sister off guard, football was kind of her thing, while you were more interested in the fine arts, film and photography, painting and lastly music. which is why you’ve opened your own art exhibit, in bad honnef — germany. and not to mention, you’ve released popular albums with your band, the midnight rebels.
but the current train of thoughts you had, was cut off by the sound of your phone ringing. it was sydney, your younger sister.
“hallo, liebe schwester? (hello, dear sister?)” you said, waiting for a reply.
(i called to see if you were still available to attend the game tonight?)” sydney’s voice rang from the other end, as you hummed. it was the quarter-final game, between frankfurt and bayern munich.
(of course, i wouldn’t miss it for the world)” you replied, just like how sydney always supported you on your hobbies, the art exhibit that her club & national teammates have visited — you had always supported her in football, always watching the matches online, when you weren’t able to be there in person, as you were busy with the tours.
“und vielleicht kannst du dann meine nationalen teamkollegen kennenlernen, die dich schon lange kennenlernen wollten. (and maybe then you can get to know my national teammates who have wanted to get to know you for a long time.)” her words had caught you off guard, why is that?
(did you tell them? that i’m the secret member of…)” sydney had interrupted as you let out a deep sigh.
(no, i didn’t tell them you’re the masked member of the midnight rebels.)” her reply was swift, as she continued, “she waren in deiner kunstausstellung, erinnerst du dich? mit der unterkunft, die sie hatten, haben sie den eigentümer nie getroffen. (they’ve been to your art exhibit, remember? with the accommodation they’ve received, they never met the owner.)”
ah, the art exhibit — it was something you’ve established after finishing university in the states, a full academic scholarship to ucla for your fine arts degree, majoring in photography & painting and drawing.
it just so happens that ucla is where you ended up meeting the rest of your bandmates, the midnight rebels. so, whenever the band (it started out as a university band, the contract signing happened after a video had blew up) had a performance, you’d show up in a mask.
it was because, you were never one for the spotlight. being the introvert that you are, striking up a conversation, must less singing on stage, was nerve-wrecking.
(i haven’t had time to do that yet, you know what my manager is like.)” every since that breaking record deal, the signing of your band — your manager has been up your arse about recording more songs, keeping up with this masked image (even though you were thankful for it).
(yes, i know. but i’m afraid we have to end the conversation, the coach says we should concentrate now.)” sydney mumbled as you bid goodbye, — perhaps in a rush to get ready for tonight.
the match was a little bit packed, as you could ever imagine. afterall, it was a game between the two top teams of the league. you took a seat at the family and friends section, like you usually do whenever you attend a match. however, your gaze was quickly torn to your wrist, as you felt the hot, stinging sensation — your soulmate is nearby.
the game started with both teams showing their tactical discipline. bayern, the team your sister plays on, controlled possession, trying to break through frankfurt’s compact defensive setup. the opposing team, on the other hand, looked dangerous on the counter, using their speed on the flanks to stretch bayern’s backline.
it was then in the 79th minute, caro simon had accidentally put the ball into her own net, giving frankfurt a 1-0 lead, it was the moment you felt your heart drop. but bayern, however refused to back down, eager to score an equalizer, and little did they know, it came true. damnjanović scored a dramatic equalizer sending the game into extra time.
once the extra time had started, it was then bayern showed championship mentality, their energy levels running high. viggósdóttir did a header from a well delivered set piece. sooner, tanikawa weaved past the defenders before rifling in a stunning shot to make it 3-1. with frankfurt desperately trying to fight back, damnjanović struck again completing bayern’s statement, with a 4-1 victory.
the game ended with cheers from the home fans, as you softly clapped knowing how much this game meant to your sister. as the game ended, you went closer to the field, watching how the teams talked with their fans, rotating around the field — you however, ignored the sensation on your wrist.
“wie hat ihnen das spiel gefallen? (how did you like the game?)” your eyes followed the voice, only to see the colors of the opposing team.
“es war nervenaufreibend. (it was nerve-wrecking.)” you simply said, turning your eyes away from the jersey, to look at the person’s eyes — only for both of you to look at each other shocked, the stinging pain that you’ve gotten from the soulmate tattoo had stopped, and you knew what that meant.
“du bist es. (it’s you)”
“du bist es. (it’s you)”
you tore your eyes away, as sydney came — a tired yet joyful expression wore her face, her eyes had curiosity as she looked at you, and laura her national teammate.
“ich sehe, du hast meine schwester laura kennengelernt. (i see you’ve met my sister, laura.)” laura, who you’ve now learned the name of, her eyes widened at your sister’s words.
“die besitzerin der kunstaustellung? (the owner of the art exhibition?)” she had said, as you responded.
“ja, genau. (yes, exactly.)” you said, looking between the two teammates, as sydney furrowed her eyebrows.
(are you okay? you look like you’ve seen a ghost.)” sydney said, as she looked at your face, a bit pale you were.
“ich glaube ich habe meine seelenverwandte gefunden. (i think i’ve met my soulmate.)” you mumbled underneath your breath, as laura’s eyes widened at the words — while, sydney looked so confused.

https://www.watson.de/sport/interview/972219774-dfb-frauen-sydney-lohmann-erklaert-stil-von-bundestrainer-christian-wueck
Good Syd interview, she explains why she opted out of playing at W7s. I liked how she didn't sugar coat that she needs to be more consistent, the club wasn't good enough in the CL and needs to step it up against top clubs.
DFB Women: Sydney Lohmann explains the style of national coach Wück
Sydney Lohmann is a fixture at both FC Bayern and the German national team. In an interview with watson, the international revealed the secret of her historic double season, raved about teammate Lena Oberdorf, and offered a preview of the European Championship.
Watson: Christian Wück has been in office as national coach for almost a year. What does he do differently than his predecessors?
Sydney Lohmann: He lets us play straightforward, pure attacking football. He wants us to be bold. That's good for us. In the past, we were perhaps often too cerebral in one situation or another.
Off the pitch, Wück's communication has also been a topic of discussion recently. How is your interaction with him?
Everyone's perspective on this topic is a little different. I recently had a good exchange with him. He called me when I wasn't there.
Lena Oberdorf is back. You've been able to watch her training up close over the past few weeks. What impression does she make on you?
You wouldn't immediately notice that she's been out for so long. It's fun to be on the field with her because she's an outstanding player.
Whether she'll be going to the European Championships remains to be seen. What's in store for the German national team in Switzerland?
We've always been capable of surprises in recent years—sometimes it went well, sometimes not so well. I'm confident we can do a lot again this time. We need to get a good feeling about ourselves as a team during preseason. We definitely have the quality, but we have to bring it onto the pitch.
You were recently in Estoril with FC Bayern for the new World Sevens Football tournament. What was your first impression?
Everything was new and different. It felt a bit like a youth tournament, but much cooler and more professional. We had a lot of fun here, and the team played brilliantly. We deserved to win.
Do you see it as a purely friendly tournament?
"Friendly match" sounds too derogatory to me, but the football was a lot of fun and reminded me of what I remember from the old football field. At the same time, it was a real game and could be quite prestigious. I think that soccer vibe is cool.
Why didn't you play along?
We had everything in our own hands, whether we would even participate in the tournament as a team and who would participate. It was a long season, we didn't have much of a break, and there's still a European Championship coming up. So I decided to sit out. But I trained at the same time and then supported the team at the tournament.
The Bundesliga was a close race for a long time, with four teams competing this season. Why were you able to pull away so clearly in the end?
We were consistent until the end, winning important games against Wolfsburg and, ultimately, against Frankfurt. In recent years, we've also developed a winning mentality, which has often helped us in close games.
How do you rate the overall playing time?
My summary of the season is very positive. We won the first women's double in the club's history. We were on point in difficult cup matches, and in the league we didn't let ourselves be distracted by other people's comments. We stayed true to ourselves and didn't lose a game in the second half of the season.
In the Champions League, however, it was all over in the quarter-finals.
We have to acknowledge that we weren't good enough in the Champions League. We weren't good enough there, and that annoys us. Every year, we've been defeated by a top club at some point. We want to change that.
This year it was Lyon, in previous years the opponents were Arsenal, PSG or Chelsea.
I've been at FC Bayern for nine years – no matter how far we get, when we face a top club, we often fall short. We have to take the next step, even if we've won group matches against Barcelona or Arsenal. We can't be afraid here; we have to be brave and bring a winning mentality to the pitch, just like we've done so well at home.
Wolfsburg was also clearly eliminated in the Champions League quarterfinals, and Frankfurt even lost in the qualifying round. Is the Bundesliga losing its footing internationally?
No, but the Bundesliga is a bit behind in certain areas. But that only applies to the English league or individual teams. Barcelona, for example, is on a whole different level; they're currently only able to achieve anything in one game, which the final demonstrated.
How do you personally look back on the past season?
The first half of the season was a bit difficult, and I was inconsistent throughout the season. But starting in the winter, I played a lot, so I'm going into the break with a good feeling.
There's hardly been a Bayern game this season in which you haven't played. But you've only played the full game three times. Does that bother you?
I prefer to play the whole game, but during the busy weeks of the second half of the season, substitutions actually worked out for me. It only bothers me when I don't play at all. But then I'll put in even more effort next time.
You've played in a variety of positions again this season. Which one suits you best?
In recent months, I've enjoyed the double six position the most because I can move forward from there, but also shape the play and retrieve the ball. You're right in the thick of things. I'm physically strong, strong in tackles, and a strong runner – that suits me well there. If there's only one single six, I'm happy to play in front of them at number eight.
In which areas do you still want to improve?
I'm still lacking a bit of consistency in my game and scoring points.
These are two aspects that distinguish Thomas Müller. Recently, you celebrated the titles of both professional teams together, with Müller once again taking center stage. Did it feel like a big Müller farewell party?
A player who has given so much to the club certainly deserves to be given multiple farewells on such a grand scale.
Did you take any extra pictures with him or ask him about his future?
It was a great honor to stand on the balcony with him. But he already gets so many questions, I didn't want to come to him as well.
What's clear, however, is what's next for you on the coaching bench. Alex Straus is leaving, and you're getting a new coach in José Barcala, who's largely unknown here. Have you met him yet?
We met him briefly in Estoril. He came over and watched a few games.
Did you already have your eye on him in Switzerland?
I know his background and know that he has a similar basic idea to Alex Straus. That was the club's goal, and I like that.

at-choice: CORA WAVERLEY (persephone)
Tumblr media
name Corynn "Cora" Waverley
alter 24 | (11. Oktober)
nationalität Australisch
gender female [she/her]
sexualität heterosexuell
pairing option [Yes]

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

Jasmine Heyward-Kim: The Heiress Harmonizing Music’s Future.
Just days after the first Mother’s Day of the new century, Jasmine Heyward-Kim (or Jaehee, as she’s known in Korea) was born into a family destined for artistic legacy. Her father, Hugh Heyward, inherited the prestigious Universal Music Group (UMG) after his father’s passing, while her mother, Yejin Kim, was a beloved South Korean actress with a nation at her feet. Their teenage love story—a secret Australian wedding at 21, defying traditionalist families—produced two daughters: Namra (Rowena) and Nabi (Jasmine). But as Hugh immersed himself in UMG’s empire, shuttling between Australia, the U.S., and the Netherlands, the marriage dissolved, leaving Yejin to raise the girls in Sydney.
Jasmine’s destiny clicked at 11, the moment she first heard Queen’s A Night at the Opera at UMG’s headquarters. School holidays became apprenticeships: shadowing her father in boardrooms and studios, dissecting the alchemy of hitmaking. By 17, she aced MIT’s Business Administration program, graduating at 21—but something was missing.
Though raised between cultures (winter trips to Jeju, her grandmother’s rice cakes pinning her to Korean roots), she craved deeper connection. Settling in Seoul, she kept global bases—Santa Monica, Hilversum, a shared Sydney home with Rowena—yet her heart belonged to music.
Now, as UMG’s heir apparent, JAZZ (her producer alias) has quietly shaped pop’s soundtrack: Taylor Swift’s "Anti-Hero," The Weeknd’s "Starboy," Rihanna’s "Lift Me Up," NewJeans’ "Hype Boy," and Bruno Mars & Lady Gaga’s recent "Die With a Smile." A standout triumph? Co-producing Anitta’s Funk Generation, bridging her love for Brazilian MPB (Djavan and Caetano Veloso are UMG icons).
Despite rubbing shoulders with music’s elite, Jasmine guards her privacy fiercely. Her next act? Steering UMG—on her own terms.

Mitten in Melbourne, Australien.
So richtig zurück bin ich nicht.
Wandere immer noch durch Carlton Gardens.
Sitze im Adelaide Oval,
freue mich, dass meine Lieblingsmannschaft gewinnt.
Rieche das Meer, höre die Möwen,
in Sydney an der Oper.
Der Sonnenuntergang unter Palmen.
Mit 26 Grad Sonnenbrand.
Tolle Menschen, freundlich und kontaktfreudig.
Diese Reise hat Spaß gemacht
und mein Leben positiv beeinflusst.

Tag 19 14.04.2024 Teneriffa

[Album] Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds kündigen neues Album "Wild God" an!
Tumblr media
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds kündigen ihr neues Album "Wild God" an! Der erste Vorgeschmack auf das am 30. August über Play It Again Sam erscheinende 18.
Ende des letzten Jahres hatte Cave gemeinsam mit Warren Ellis das Live-Album "Australian Carnage – Nick Cave and Warren Ellis Live At The Sydney Opera House" released.
“I hope the album has the effect on listeners that it’s had on me”, erzählt Cave. “It bursts out of the speaker, and I get swept up with it. It’s a complicated record, but it’s also deeply and joyously infectious. There is never a masterplan when we make a record. The records rather reflect back the emotional state of the writers and musicians who played them. Listening to this, I don’t know, it seems we’re happy.”
“Wild God…there’s no fucking around with this record”, so Cave. “When it hits, it hits. It lifts you. It moves you. I love that about it.”
And the people on the ground cried when does it end? / The wild god says well it depends, but mostly never ends”. „When I hear ‘Wild God’ or ‘Frogs’ or ‘Conversion’ – songs on the album that have these big climactic moments – it puts a big fucking smile on my face”, ergänzt Cave über die Single. Dem können wir uns nur anschliessen!

27.12-5.01.24
