Athabasca River with a Mountain Backdrop (Jasper National Park) by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While on the H.J. Moberly Bridge with a view looking to the north-northeast. This location is in Jasper National Park. With this image, I decided to zoom in with the focal length and capture a layered look as the river flowed by. I used one of the shorelines to frame the setting but also have a look beyond with the ridges and peaks of the Colin Range with Mount Colin and Hawk Mountain. I later worked with control points in DxO PhotoLab 6 and then made some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.

My Vacation Escapes in Jasper National Park by Mark Stevens Via Flickr: While on the H.J. Moberly Bridge with a view looking to the north-northeast. This location is in Jasper National Park. My thought on composing this image came about as I watched cars go by across the bridge to my front. I noticed the trusses on the bridge and decided to use that as a frame for look beyond with the Athabasca River and mountains. The rest was just aligning myself for a view with the mountains and including interesting patterns in the trusses.

The Edwardian Women Who Claimed to Travel Back in Time
On October 5, 1789, Marie Antoinette dressed in a casual, low-cut dress and a wide-brimmed hat and arranged a campstool on the grassy terrace of her chateau, the Petit Trianon, in Versailles. She was perched there sketching some nearby trees when her quiet repose was interrupted by a breathless page, bringing news that an angry mob was on their way from Paris.
These were the events of the French queen’s last day at her beloved Trianon, and the beginning of the end for the French monarchy. Or at least, these are the details alleged by Charlotte Anne Moberly and Eleanor Jourdain in their book The Adventure. The two women claimed that when they toured the royal palace in 1901, something extraordinary happened: They were transported back to the 18th century, where they glimpsed the queen on what may have been the last happy day of her life…
