My favorite duck-artist on Tumblr (@modmad) is encouraging people to draw what your Pokémon-companion realistically would be, based on your childhood. What environment you grew up in, your personality, etc.

So here is young champ-in-the-making Myrling with her Spinarak called Therry (Theridion Grallator) and Joltik named Too-Ticky. 💚💛

I had a fascination with spiders as a kid and collected them for a "spider farm" that never really went anywhere. We lived in the middle of the woods where I would crawl around in the forest looking for 8-legged friends and I was blissfully unaware of the existence of tics. Somehow, I never got bitten by a tic, but I unwittingly carried plenty of them back home to my siblings and parents. ( '7')9

You could consider this a love letter to @modmad art. Or rather a huge thank you to how much they’ve helped me during my art journey.

I first found out about your art in 2015, when I was barely drawing and it felt like hell. It gave me the motivation I then lacked, and I’ve learnt so much since then it feels like another life. Yet again I keep coming back to your comic, and to your art account, every other month or so. It’s as incredible as it always was. Even if I’m not in the object head fandom anymore and I barely use Tumblr. I drew a lot of fanart back then, but I’d rather forget about it as it wasn’t that good 😭. So yeah, I just wanted to sketch you something nice this time and let you know that you’ve changed my life and the way I draw forever. TPOH will always be something special to me because that’s where my art journey started.

Right so had read "The Property Of Hate" by @modmad this month, and I HAD to draw the daft pair (christ tho the colour is definitely testing my lenses)
