So a little update on my animal crossing progress.

After talking to my step-brother the other day, it indeed seems like like I have been blessed by some luck entity with all my rare (mostly fishes) catches (referencing this post and reblog I made) except for fossils (partner already had most of them but I finally got a new one a couple weeks ago). He was bewildered I had been able to pay back the loan my partner had when he introduced me to the game and constructed another room, a second floor and a basement in the span of a couple weeks, as well as adding a million to his savings before paying each loan (his requests), with all the catches I sold. My biggest sale after coming back from an unexplored island... Well I took photos to show proof to my partner:

(yeah, I'm French) That's the biggest example of what I came back with but yeah, I often have big sales after exploring.

I had the intention of updating anyway because I had gotten to an island with literally only weeds and scorpions, which got me to finally find the way to catch them without being stung each time (except for the very first scorpion I ever met and miraculously catched first try). And I got back with 21 so I was pretty proud (I lost the count of how many times I was stung on that island to achieve that result TwT).

Well I got to another island and decided to hit a rock to get some daily miles nook.... And was greeted with THIS:

PLEASE I NEED TO KNOW IS THIS NORMAL??? I found some more star pieces on the beaches of the island and when I hit the other rock, I got a similar result?? My partner is confused too, I.... IT'S ALSO RAINING SHOOTING STARS THAT I'M WISHING UPON AS I'M STILL TYPING THIS (and I've been typing for at least half an hour I think (I'm a slow typer, don't judge me, also I've been distracted))

HAVE I COME ACROSS SOME KIND OF STAR ISLAND OR SOMETHING?????

(ok that wasn't such a little update, but please I need answers for this last point)

I have kind of a crazy theory about Fnaf Secret of the Mimic. I haven't played any of the games or read the books myself (I'm kind of a wimp towards anything horror and gore related) so all my Fnaf knowledge comes from let's plays and theorist videos (which I love watching because I love looking at possibilities, FNAF lore is a giant puzzle and that's very appealing to my audhd brain). That to say, I might be way off but still want to share, cause who knows?

Anyway, theory under the cut to prevent spoilers

So I discovered the Remnantplex theory thanks to Ryetoast and have since watched the original theory by She'salwaysnervous. If you don't know it, it's a theory about how the whole Pizzaplex of Security Breach is powered by remnant, which would explain why there seems to have been so many missing/dead people there, why in Ruins when putting the mask on you hear cries, why the animatronics degraded so rapidly in one night (remnant normally keeps them shiny but the power is sucked up by the FFPS building and Burntrap underground), but also the presence of a scooper, Gregory in Doctor Rabbit mode potentially being a bait to attract children in for Vanny to kill during the nights (before he broke free). It's a theory I like a lot.

Now, I have only seen Ryetoast mentioning it a bit (I didn't watch their whole let's play yet) but the whole MCM factory and manor seems to be powered by some kind of molten metal. You know what else is molten metal? Remnant. I swear it didn't click for me until I saw those huge pipes with this strange substance all coming from one point but once it did, I could only think "remnant" (I was watching Dawko let's play first). And I mean, that wouldn't be to far stretched seeing how advanced Edwin's creations were. It wouldn't be very surprising to me he was amongst the first ones to discover remnant and its properties. Also, minor detail, but it would explain why Arnold isn't injured by drops of literally MOLTEN METAL falling on him during the elevator and Dollie scene. It could also explain how Dollie and so the Mimic inside were still working despite falling in a lava-hot-like substance, if it was remnant it would have helped protect them from melting completely. Also, seeing the number of persons who went missing in the factory even when the company was still working, and the number of metallic inventions that turned bad and/or were exposed to strong emotions before being returned and recycled, that would seem like a real possibility to me.

So yeah, just throwing that out there, though I doubt I'm the first one pointing it out (I wouldn't be surprised to see She'salwaysnervous and Ryetoast make theory videos on that point)

Oop, didn't expect so many notes for this at once today XD

I've had some other surprising catches since then, some my partner already caught and at least 15 I added to his museum. Every new discovery was greeted with a "ooooh!" or a stunned "wow." from me before announcing it to my partner. He told me to follow the post with them so here comes.

I've had more luck with not common fishes, I've caught another coelacanth, kois, a mitten crab, 2 or 3 rays, a football fish, 5 or 6 oarfishes, a giant trevally, a dorado, an arapaima, 2 hammerhead sharks, 3 saw sharks, 2 whale sharks, 3 or 4 suckerfishes, and a great white shark.

I've also had some bugs and sea creatures catches I'm pretty proud of like a snow crab, a few gigas giant clams, 2 vampire squids, a peacock butterfly, an emperor butterfly, two atlas mothes, a few banded dragonflies, 2 Rosalia batesi beetles, and surprisingly a scorpion first try (though I was stung every other attempts after that XD).

I'm not sure if I'm a overall lucky player or not but what's sure is that I'm having fun anyway XD

My partner introduced me to Animal Crossing two days ago. Yesterday I was a bit bummed it was raining cause I couldn't catch butterflies but then I proceeded to fish him his first coelacanth. And today, in at most five minutes, I proceeded to catch three more...

I... I don't know which deity or entity granted me luck but that was surprising to say the least XD

On April 16th 2025 the US federal government has proposed to change the interpretation of the endangered species act so that it no longer protects habitat.

This is open for public comment until the end of May 19th. Please comment and make your voice heard.

Wildlife need their habitat. If the ESA redefines harm so that habitat is no longer protected, the implications for wildlife would be catastrophic.
