Season 0 has Atem killing a bunch of people and everybody is fine with that. Season 4 has him sacrificing a bunch of monsters (and accidently misplaced Yugi) and everybody''s mad at him.

Harry Quinn contributed many of the signed illustrations, with some signed by Erol Otus and some unsigned ones resembling Jim Holloway's work.

First the cards that didn't get picked - I had some hope for this one, even tho Pikmin isn't that popular in the community I hosted this in, but oh well xD I love the monster in Pikmin, they are so weird! And the Grubcucker is just amazing. Great name, really cool design, I love himbs.

it continues to astound me how people my age … just kinda don’t know how to use computers. like, i was born in 2001, right? i’m an “older gen z”. what is it they say, “digital natives”? there is a significant portion of my age cohort that is proficient with computers, but the rest just aren’t. and the non-proficient share goes up and up and up the later the birth years get. it’s not that they don’t use information technology, they use it every day, but it’s phones and tablets and, at most, for school, chromebooks, which are computer-shaped but not much else. like, mostly i’m thinking about file systems. people don’t understand them.

i probably wouldn’t either if it weren’t for the fact that since i was a small kid i’ve been into (1) pc gaming and more importantly installing mods for pc games, and (2) writing, starting out with word 2004 as my primary word processor, because my dad had an old license lying around around the time i started writing longer stuff that wasn’t practical to keep in physical notebooks, and only moving on to google docs and cloud storage in my teens, when school forcibly assigned me a chromebook that i HATED because it is literally just a glorified internet terminal. that’s all it does.

like, it was modding minecraft back in 2012 when it was actually a bit difficult that taught me the basics of How Puter Work. so i was wrangling files and directories starting at, like, nine or ten years old. i used the family desktop and it sat at windows xp for so long we skipped vista entirely, because xp was fine and upgrading cost money, until i modded minecraft too hard and it caught fire and we had to replace it lmao

so i’ve always just assumed everyone else my age knew roughly as much as i did, that i wasn’t particularly adept, just kinda lower end of average. but nope! for my age cohort, i’m actually a genius! just the fact that i sometimes have intuitions about what might be wrong, and don’t need to consult the kinda arcane manuals every time, because i’ve troubleshot PCs enough times on my own, makes me a god among mortals. and i’m only slightly exaggerating.

this effect is even more pronounced for my little brother (2004). he knows more than me tbh, especially hardware-wise. and on the software end he has more practical knowledge than me, i’ve gotten kinda complacent. back in the day, i modded our minecraft clients and he set up servers for us on our raspberry pi. (we had to limit the world to a like 500x500 block square otherwise it would melt lol.)

meanwhile his friends can barely manoeuvre chromeOS because they’re used to the even more locked-down iOS. if a program isn’t on the app store, they have no idea how to install it. what’s the ‘downloads directory’. and my friends are like this too! even the very online ones! especially the very online ones! it’s so fucked!

Some Scapeghost AU things:

- Yusei named all five of them. And each one has a unique personality despite none of them having a brain cell between them.

- The Red one is Ruu. Ruu likes headbutting things. And people. It doesn't hurt though, and he mostly does it to get one's attention. If Ruu is ignored for too long, he WILL become extra annoying with constant baaing.

- The Blue one is Bluu. Bluu is silly and does very silly things, such as making squeaky toy noises when smooshed. Likes hiding in Yusei's shirts and coat and will steal said coat if he's in a hiding mood.

- The Orange one is Sunny. Sunny is extremely hyper and doesn't seem to have a chill button or off switch. Fidgets constantly when having to stay in one spot and likes chasing Jack and Crow around for lulz. ("YUSEI GET YOUR OVERGROWN DEAD FURBALL AWAY FROM US!!" "Sunny just wants to play, he's not hurting anyone!")

- The Pink one is Mochi. Mochi likes hiding in places to playfully scare people, and she will always pick the one place one would never expect to find a Scapeghost in. The most outrageous place the group has found her so far was in a duel runner engine.

- The last one, the one that suspiciously looks like Yusei, is appropriately named Kurisei. Kurisei has -2 Brain Cells, loves milk and gets extremely pissed off if denied any, and likes carrying one of Yusei's tools around wherever he goes. Current tool he likes carrying around is a small wrench that he occasionally gnaws on.

- All five tend to be out at the same time. Never just one or two of them. And if it looks like one is by itself, it's not. The others are always nearby.

- Akiza thinks they're adorable too, and likes playing with them! Jack and Crow would call her just as crazy as Yusei for thinking the Scapeghosts are cute, but they fear her wrath.

- The twins can't really agree about their stances in them. Luna thinks they're kinda cute in a creepy way while Leo says they're outright creepy in a horror way. ("It looks cute, but what if it can turn into a hideous monster?!")

- Bruno gets dogpiled on by them frequently. He has no idea why, but Yusei finds it adorable so he just lets it happen. Though he wishes Ruu would stop trying to headbutt him: it hurts Ruu more than it does him. (Android body go brrr.)

Made some more monster prompt cards!!

i imagine them being used shuffled in a deck and if they're upright or reversed chooses one of the two symbols-

also i decided to use black as a general accent color not just for eyes so i spruced up the chimera design!

i'm mostly using the tarot card readings to inform the order, theyre not strictly meant to be tarot cards- (hence why im only doing 56, NOT the major arcana)

but theres fun through-lines here like the chimera, 2 of hearts, has things about relationship and reversed is "forces that do not communicate do not survive" , lining up with lots of lore that the chimera has about fighting with itself

similarly the reverse of the 4 of hearts is "Regain Equilibrium" as a theme, and one foot = low balance, plus monopod lore has them sleeping with their foot in the air to shade them, linking into the reversed card reading-

its fun!

cursed with Waiting Mode and the only thing i can do while im in Waiting Mode is clean but i already vacuumed my room and also the kitchen and cleaned my desk and i don’t want to do other peoples dishes but if my uncle doesn’t text me soon saying they’re all done resting that might have to happen
