I got tagged by @amiyade, thank you!! ✨💖 I’ve seen the rules going around somewhere and it's something like post a list of your current writing projects. Followers are free to ask for more info on any of them, like which characters feature, snippets, extra details, etc. Remember how I said I'm trying to take it easy on myself and not drown myself in WIPs since I'm getting back into actually being productive ahahahahaha yeaaaah *drowns self in WIPs* SO, not a complete list of WIPs, but some things I'm currently focusing on the most. I think I’ve mentioned like most of them anyway lol, BUT HERE WE ARE: 1. The Memory of You (FFXV) -- honestly, this is probably my favouritest fic of mine, which is dumb I know since you'd think I'd have finished it then lol. For those who don't know, Noct and Ardyn are physically de-aged into children (around 7 and 10 years old) by a daemon and are trapped on their own in Cleigne. They have to work together to travel across the country to Hammerhead, where Noct's friends are, but, of course, there are a few hiccups along the way. Enemies-to-friends, Ardyn!redemption, an adventure fic with some cute things, some angsty things and some scary things. MUCH FRIENDSHIP. It now has a playlist on spotify which just makes me feel things instead of write things lmao. I love this fic okay shhhhhhhhh. 2. [title redacted] (FFXV) -- a hurt!Noct body horror fic. After a daemon hunt goes wrong, and after having a strange sudden fever, Noctis begins to descend into “madness”. Nightmares, paranoia, hallucinations, the lot. His friends are majorly concerned about his mental state, but Noctis is convinced there's something more to it. If this fic had a soundtrack it’d be like all synthwave and shit, and yes of course that’s an important detail lmaooo 3. nemo (FFXV) -- daemonised-imperial-weapon!Noct. Pre-game, canon divergence and all that. Noctis has been transformed and brainwashed into killing for the empire, he's seen as a feral beast and a mindless killing machine, Ardyn is a little too obsessed with him, and there's a secret plot to rescue and bring Noctis back home. 4. Conceal (working title) (FFXV) -- a simple one-shot of bros taking care of Noctis, who has been poisoned and has a fever, basically because I wanted more warm and concerned Gladio lmao. Basically just a caretaking fic. 5. What the Shadows Hide (working title) (Merlin) -- an assassin is loose in Camelot and Arthur has been cursed to lose each of his senses one by one. Featuring a lot of angst on Arthur's part as he struggles to cope with becoming far too physically vulnerable for his liking, and awesome-servant!Merlin who tries his best to help. 6. untitled Merlin/Mordred (Merlin) -- listen Merthur is my otp, and this fic is just in the planning/daydreaming stages, but I am SO EMOTIONALLY INVESTED in this fic idea for some reason and I just need to acknowledge that it exists okay, basically S5 AU where Merlin decides to give Mordred a chance, tells Mordred about his fated role in Arthur's death, and then it's a long journey of becoming friends and then more, which Merlin struggles with because it feels like a betrayal to Arthur and Mordred is like STFU you’re dumb and we're both loyal to him. Anyway basically: good!Mordred, enemies-to friends-to lovers, secret relationship, two sneaky adorable sorcerers trying their best to protect their king and each other ANYWAY I think I'll stop there lol because we'll be here forever. I have a ton of Merlin ideas written down but I’m not actively working on them yet, there are a couple of new FFXV ideas that I've kept off this list because the subjects are heavy, and my Supernatural ideas are currently all variations of Sam recovering from Hell trauma (except the big Silent Hill inspired fic which consists of powerful psychic Sam AND hell trauma). ANYWAAAAAAAAAAAAY. I’m gonna gently tag @breakfastteatime @deducitetemporacarmen @kaelinaloveslomaris @every-lemon @glaivenoct @marmolita but no pressure. Okay, I had to say something about this fic

You're brilliant. Honestly. I loved everything about this fic— BAMF!Merlin, Mordred, and Morgana; the characters defying destiny and acting on their free will; Arthur's and the knights' trust in the three of them.

"My Lord gave up his throne in favour of serving you, buried his crown in favour of polishing yours." This quote may be my favorite thing ever. The way it captures both Mordred's loyalty to Merlin and Merlin's loyalty to Arthur at the same time is phenomenal.

I honestly love the concept of Merlin and Mordred having a good relationship. I always believed that they had a level of understanding that no magic user-non magic user dynamic could ever reach, and considered the sheer amount of respect Mordred had for Emrys' powers as such a good potential ground for them to develop a friendship. I know that they hated each other, and Merlin's prejudice was far too implemented in his mind, but well. Fanon is fanon for a reason.

Anyway I talked too much, but the point is: thank you for writing this! It was amazing <3

YESSSS!!! Merlin and Mordred had such potential!! The writers really gave us the sweetest, most innocent, loveliest boy in the world, and then told us he would actually consider letting a CHILD who was in the EXACT same position as him, die?! Yeah, no. Merlin and Mordred being besties (along with Morgana, of course) is my endgame for everything😁

this is like. the whole world. mostly just the continents are named but heres a quick and dirty rundown:

ionia- the starting continent for mandolin and mordred. theyre from the quentin kingdom and take up a base in the city of trostenwold. this is also home to the secret elven city erlathain and the kingdom of the dark elves, genovia. somewhere in there is the heavenly coast but fuck if i know where it is

hakkaido- fantasy feudal japan bc my fellow party members are fuckin weebs. isolationist until mandolin visits to tell the emperor davos probably is going to set up shop there. little does he know that that’s where davos is defeated over two decades later. for some reason, it has centaurs and completely civilized goblins. also excellent sushi

athenus- capital monarchical shitty place, in campaign 2, we lowkey kidnap the prince and cause the death of the king. the two are not related. this is also where most of campaign 2 takes place.

noctis- my personal brain child. a mostly democratic continent ruled by the council of 99 i created to start dming and marc just kind of uses it for anything. its where campaign 2 and 2b start, with 2b starting the year before. its also the home of castletown bard college, halfling mafia, and limerick’s circus troupe. it’s probably the second most fleshed out continent.

exandria- a lawless continent taken directly from matt mercer thru the lens of literally whatever marc has on his mind at the moment. as of right now it’s the place that jimin and orvar are exploring. it has a reputation of being kinda thin, dimension wise, and incredibly magic charged. lots of weird shit. lots of illegal shit.

sumera- isolationist desert continent ruled by an immortal druid queen. she is a shitty mother, but a fair ruler. that’s phobos and deimos’s mom. we dont find that out til mid campaign. much rioting. home of a tree of life that gives a seed once a century. is actually a turtle.

beastman island- where butar is from. its super shitty. the beastmen were enslaved for centuries. nonbeastmen cannot set foot on its shores

sicerillan- idk man, i wrote it in and we both fuckin forgot about it

theres also the dark continent which is its own world and several continents put together but i can’t talk about that until campaign 3 bc it’s after a fucking multi dimension convergence bc marc loves convoluted storytelling

Azura loves Noctis, if she didn’t she wouldn’t be rushing off to face down Bahamut again. If Azura didn’t love her prince she would have left the moment it became apparent that something big was going to happen; because despite everything Azura is old and she is tired. Tired of fighting, of healing, of dying but Noctis is hers. His city and his kingdom have become hers as well simply because they mean more to Noctis than she cares to think about.

Lucis is hers.

Insomnia is hers.

Noctis is hers. And she will not like a god she can kill take that away from her.

Azura drags Noctis into a kiss in front of his friends and lets her eyes flutter shut as she kisses him with a passion that’s been withheld for months at this point. Azura kisses Noctis like she’s about to walk to her death. She kisses like a woman who has lost everything and refuses to lose what little she has now.

When she pulls away, Noctis is looking at her stunned and yet still there’s a glaze of want and worry in his eyes.

“Go on,” Azura says and pushes him toward his retinue, “I’ll be fine.”

“What was that for?” Noctis asks.

“I wanted a kiss,” she says, “For good luck.”

Harriet is in control of the area of the dock’s known as the Western Docks, which is the part of the docks closest to where the Goblin Barges come in, so she is usually first in, and controlling the best trade. Her territory used to belong to Long John Silver until she took it from him when she was fifteen. Her territory is right next to the part of the docks under Uma and Ursula’s control.

Harriet, Raven, Viveca and Cain’s gang’s have major alliances in every verse, and secretly keep the Isle from destroying itself in an alliance known by some as the Power Four.  Harriet’s gang has a minor protection alliance with the Core Four.

Claude’s Church Lackey’s are the older gang with the least power/influence - something which frustrates him to no end. His gang has successfully managed to piss of every other gang on the isle (including Uma’s crew in my headcanons). The rising gang of Giavanna Legume has started garnering attention, their main base is Gaston’s Tavern.

The children of Hades’ Souvlaki (or what is classed/looks like children), have alliance ties to the four prominent older gangs on the Isle. Whereas Curl Up and Dye normally keep to themselves and are situated on the cusp of Uma’s territory; though Lilith can usually be seen with the Heart’s Cheshire Chester.

Hyde’s Surgery and Apothecary Shop is not your typical doctor’s surgery - none of the doctor’s there are fully qualified, but have had medical training. However you go there at your own peril. Outside of the Isle Alliances, the Hyde family thrive on pain and if you go there you might just end up leaving worse than when you entered. They do have a talented scientist making semi-decent medicines in the form of Zevon, who recycles out of date medication from Auradon.

As the deal broker of the Isle Nasir of Andalesia needed bodyguards and they came in the form of Junior and Pace. Unaligned tend to float between the gangs, Skye is a bit of a loner, tends to police the younger generation for the Sheriff of Nottingham.

The thing that gets me is that Mordred and Nyx are a twisted ver of Noctis and Gladio, a Lucis Caelum and his Shield, and it //kills me// inside everytime I see their interactions like //how dare you// and I just want to s c r e a m On that note, with the non-human Lucii thing, have the role of their Shields also changed in this AU? We see Prompto’s horrified, but what about the rest of the Chocobros? Plus, with Nyx’s whole attitude, how changed is his or any Glaives’ interactions with Luna?

for the rest of the bros- Gladio very much wants to have a TALK about loyalty with Nyx. He does. But if Gladio does get that talk Nyx will just look at Gladio and say: ‘My loyalty wasn’t to him, it was to Galahd.’ (Because Nyx was a Speaker for the People. and the People always came first.)

Ignis is quietly seething. But his mind goes places. Goes to exactly how much of a threat could mordred be? did the galahdians have magic users of their own that they told no one about? why was nyx supposed to kill mordred?

noctis is-

noctis. a lucis caelum. something too big made to fit into human skin. someone who gets attached too easily. someone who feels too much and something inside of him rages.

because noctis isn’t stupid. he can see that the roles between mordred and nyx are what could have been enforced on him and gladio if things were different. because noctis can see that nyx was meant to cage mordred, to make sure mordred didnt Become something More.

(and even now Noctis only has to Look to see that light in mordred. unlike the light Noctis’ own family has, unlike the light that Luna and her family have. its something new and strange and different. but its enough alike the light of the others that it makes Noctis curious.

If and when Mordred ever shares his views on the Astrals/Gods with the chocobros - it will be interesting to see their reactions. And perhaps their counter-arguments, but it's rather hard to argue that the 'gods' are not 'terribly inhuman and powerful eldritch entities that are to be placated' and are instead 'benevolent deities worthy of worship' with someone who has *grown up listening* to them. And can casually unmake all your arguments.

Honestly, I can see Ignis, Gladio, and Prompto being- a little shocked at Mordred’s casual dismissal of the idea that the gods are benevolent. Just. Mordred has listened to them for so long, he has grown up knowing that if he listened to them too closely they could take everything from him.

He knows what they are like.

And Noctis is the only one who doesn’t seem surprised when he tells the bros that the Astrals are cruel.

I feel like- I feel like maybe it mordred ever DID fall, one of the main reasons that everybody already expected him to, have proven on more than one occasion that they only thought of him as Something Dangerous. Noct et all would disagree vehemently, but what can 4 people do against the words of probably hundreds of thousands people? Including the "guardian" he was assigned? Ardyn, stumbling across mordred who was Lost and Alone, and seeing reflections of himself- mine now. -chaos

Headcanon - Familiar Bonds with @wearethedescendants

OK, unspoken but likely well known fact for this blog...

All familial (familiar and master/mistress) connections on this blogs are deep and unwavering connections and are subject to romantic/sexual tones in some instances.

This is always be discussed with writing partner, though I don’t even think Kira and I think about this anymore, it just kind of... happens. 

Points of note.

It’s a bond that is deeper than friendship, stronger than even family. 

To a familiar, their fae/sorcerer/witch is the other half to their magic and is akin to a soulmate (whether romantic/platonic can be discussed).

When one of my familiar’s is separated from their magical other half, flu like symptoms will begin to develop. A hollow ache in their chest and if the separation prolongs, weakness will develop and eventually death.

Like I said these connections can easily turn romantic

The bond can either be created magically (through a spell (Adelinda) or a life debt (Ruby)) or through their connection and desire to protect one another (most others).

If you insult one of my familiar’s other half you better be prepared for them hating your muse, no one means more to them.

Can shift at will (when no magic barrier in place), but their other half can also control their shifting

When a magical user is in a rage/magical loss of control, their familiar can absorb some of the excess magic to share the load to make it more comfortable for them. Their touch also has a calming effect when they’re angry.

When a magical use is weak from overuse of magic, the familiar can give their energy and magic to them.

Telepathic links or empathic links (feeling when the other is upset or in pain) is possible in cases where the bond is extremely close.
