Enraged
Warnings: high school AU, cursing, angry Sasuke
Pairings: implied Sasuke x Reader
Enraged, he slams his arm against the board, his long fingers itching to rip off the paper and burn it along with his crushed ambition. No one would see him do it as the halls were yet to be filled for another hour and the staff busy conversing in a closed-off area, but he was certain there were cameras everywhere and lifts his arm away.
The words glare at him and he glares back, willing it to burn as he wishes but he knew from past efforts that nothing could be done after this.
Konohagakure High School’s Top Twenty Honors Students 1.  [Last name], [Name] 2. Uchiha, Sasuke
He never bothered to read the rest, as he was too preoccupied wondering how could this one person hold his deserved rank so unabashedly? He had spent too much time with his nose in his books and sleepless nights cramming, and he was yet again unable to outdo whoever this girl was.
He hears footsteps behind him not long after he sees a girl he had grown accustomed to. She would always come a half an hour after him and before the students and glance at the very sheet he spends seamlessly staring at. They’ve never spoken a word to each other and he sometimes wonders why she never seems discouraged but he doesn’t ask because that isn’t his business.
As per usual, she takes her glance and isn’t bothered by his presence, before sighing slowly.
“Are you unimpressed?”
He is just as surprised as she is by his random initiative to speak, but she recovers quickly and mats her hair as if in thought.
“Not really,” she says slowly, looking up at him with slightly squinting [colour] eyes.
He turns back to the large pin-up board and narrows his eyes at the first slot, before mumbling under his breath.
“Did you say something?” She asks while adjusting the large books onto her right arm, a sign that he’s come to know indicates she’s about to leave.
“I need more books.” He repeats a little louder, a frown marring his pale face when she laughs and waves him off.
“Studying isn’t everything Sasuke Uchiha.”
His frown becomes deeper and he stares as she turns away, and he doesn’t understand what comes over him when he asks, “What’s your name?”
Her eyes twinkle and she cringes a bit, a reaction which seems uncommon to him before she takes a deep breath and animatedly gestures flipping her hair off her shoulder.
“[Name].”
The air is basically knocked out of him as his lungs constrict and all the choice words he’d been saving up if he ever met her could not escape his lips. He had unintentionally been entertaining the enemy for years now and he never knew it?
She struts away sickeningly confident after shooting him a half-smile, and his hand unknowingly ball into fists. How hadn’t he known?
He finds her in the girl’s bathroom on the second floor, leaning against the basins while formerly reading what seemed like some notes. Her eyes are wide and she looks around dumbly and he wonders how on Earth she had kept the first rank when clearly she had no –
“You’re not supposed to be in here.” She states cutting off his internal monologue, though she is calm and her eyes momentarily stay on him.
“How are you first?” He asks impatiently, his teeth clenched and his fists balled.
“Well great magicians don’t tell their secrets, right?” She smiles as she jabs a finger to him, but he is not amused. [Name] drops her hand and purses her lips as she gazes at him in wonder. “You’re a hard worker, aren’t you?”
“Aren’t you?” He asked incredulously, before scoffing. “Are you really….” He choked slightly, before furrowing his eyebrows.
“Oh, dude,” she sighed, “you can’t even say my name? Do you hate me that much?”
He didn’t. He actually thought she was the most laid-back girl, whenever they stared at the board together every morning for the past five years in silence, and assumed she could be the only friend he’d accept.
Before he realized she and his ultimate nemesis were the same person. How could he have not realized it? More so –
“Did you know?” he asked quietly, looking at her with disappointment. She nodded slowly and confirmed it. “I can’t believe this…”
They are quiet for a moment, for very different reasons, before [Name] smiles and attracts his attention back to her.
“I have a proposition,” she says while glancing at her watch, fifteen minutes before the first few students appeared. Sasuke folded his arms, and she took it as a sign that he was listening. “I can help you improve your grade without more cramming or new books.”
He scoffed indignantly. “Why do you assume I need your help?”
“I have this thing where I assume, and my assumptions are right, so I always go with the flow, you know? Hey, that rhymed! I’m a total genius!” She sighed and stared off for a moment. “What was I going to say?”
Sasuke stared at her incredulously. Did she have some sort of mental illness? Was it contagious?
“I must admit, the many years you kept growling at the board kind of made me remorseful, especially since I catch you studying more than you breathe, so I promised myself the moment you break the trend and talk to me, I would tell you where you went wrong and help you, okay?”
She spoke in such a sincere way; he almost apologized for snapping at her before.
Almost.
“Starting today, you will spend every free moment with me, and I promise you will see some improvement very soon.”
He raised an eyebrow. “And how do I know you’re not lying?”
[Name] checked her watch, seeing only ten minutes left, before facing him with a bright smile, one which he’d correlated to ambition-less people.
“We have a pop quiz at the end of this week on Human Transport Systems, and I know for one your average score in Biology is 94 percent,” he narrowed his eyes suspiciously and she sighed loudly. “I keep track of you just as much as you keep track of me, okay? Anyways, you follow my methods this week and I can guarantee you’ll get at least a 98 on this quiz. Though I need one thing and one thing only in return.”
There is a pregnant pause as he re-evaluates her claim. He had nothing to lose, as the coming quiz would not affect their overall grade and therefore if he did score lower than his average, it would not harm him too much. She seemed really genuine throughout her little explanation and he was planning on cramming to no end anyways. Was there really an easier method?
“Alright,” he decides, dropping the defensive stance and folding his arms across his chest nonchalantly. “What do you want?”
“It’s very simple really,” he has a clue on what she’d like just from her little smirk of triumph. “Your cooperation.”
What?!
“That’s it?”
“Well, yeah,” she shrugged, “It’s not like I proved anything yet so I’m in no place to ask for things.”
He recoiled abruptly. That made so much sense; why didn’t he think of it? Maybe she was really smart.
"Well then," [Name] awkwardly shifted her weight and looked away from his piercing gaze. "I guess I'll see you later."
Sasuke stayed rooted as she brushed past him in a blur and left him in the girls' bathroom. He was trying to recollect what had just happened, when he realized she hadn't mentioned a time he was supposed to meet her. He narrowed his eyes.
"Idiot."
-break- His lips were pursed in infuriation as he sat picking at his food. He was suddenly hungry and started to genuinely dig in, when his father erupted into a hearty, yet uncommon laugh. His elder brother received a pat on the back and the usual gushes of pride from the otherwise stoic Uchiha patriarch. He slumped his shoulders and his eyes stayed fixated on his plate.
"How about you Sasuke?"
The silence that followed his kind mother's question was suffocating. He hid behind his bangs when his father's smiling eyes turned stone cold when it landed on his youngest son, scrutinizing and unimpressed, just as they always were. He muttered a quick reply and got up abruptly. His mother stared sadly as he walked away.
Sasuke slammed his door shut, locked it, and lay back on his bed. Papers and books were sprawled all over the room, and he reminded himself grudgingly of the test at the end of the week he had to cram for. Consequently, a certain girl with a stupid grin popped in his thought. He couldn't understand how someone like her could ever achieve higher than himself, more so when she blatantly stated how she didn't study as much as him.
He sat up. Maybe she cheated some way or another?
Later, he was seated at his messy desk, highlighting important information in his biology text book and making notes on the side. The digital clock read 23:43, so he dropped his highlighter and pen and rubbed his eyes tiredly. He still had seven sections to go until he completed the unit.
Sasuke grabbed his phone and found a text message from an unknown number. He stared at the bright screen for a moment, before tapping on the notification.
Step one: No studying after dinner, assuming you eat by seven. And if you don't eat dinner then we have bigger issues. No skipping meals either dude. Please retire for the night.
He blinked comically. This was certainly her.
Sasuke growled under his breath and glared at the message as if it was [Name]. Who did she think she was telling him to go to bed?!
His phone vibrated and another notification came from the same number.
Remember our deal; you agreed to cooperate. Gosh Sasuke, I felt your malice all the way where I live.
Fine. Stop texting me.
He slid under his sheets and stared at his phone. Maybe this was his ticket to freedom; his route to receive that pat on the back from his father. He wanted to see how this turns out.

This was actually the beginning of a sasuke x oc story I wrote way back and never posted. I’ve got about a thousand of these and thought I’d edit this one and throw over here. Let me know what you think!

Fever
Fever got me aching
Fever, why won’t you explain?
Break it down again
- The Black Keys
Tumblr media
It started with a cough on Monday.  I just got over a bad cold about two weeks ago, so I shrugged it off as a byproduct of getting over that.  Then I went to the gym after work and fell completely flat after just a couple of laps around the indoor track.  A little unusual, but I haven’t exactly been burning it up workout-wise this winter, so I passed that off to being out-of-shape.  I woke up the next morning with a splitting headache, but went into the office anyway, because I concluded that was sinus issues and probably just a by-product of a bad night’s sleep.  There’s no way that I could be sick.   Let’s press on.
To help ease my symptoms, I went to Walgreens and got the troika of OTC medications: Tylenol, Musinex & Flonase.  Those helped me get through the day, but by the time I got home later in the evening, I knew I was in trouble.  All of the above symptoms were accompanied by chills and body aches.  Time for the thermometer, which confirmed a low-grade fever of around 100.0F.  After a night of no sleep, I did a very 21st century thing and e-visited my doctor.  I didn’t feel like going out and nobody needs my germs.  Besides, I already knew what he told me - I have a virus, probably the flu, get rest & plenty of fluids, stay out of sight for a few days, yada, yada, yada.  Despite the unexciting news (my son was certain I had coronavirus), it was good to confirm that I needed some down time to recuperate and this time I was going to take doctor’s orders seriously.
I also have the issue of my family to deal with, specifically my wife.  Over the years, I have been blamed for bringing countless flus, colds, stomach viruses, and even pink eye into the house.  I’m not really sure why, but I seem to be very susceptible to the mundane but annoying illnesses of our day.  This time, there was no way that I was going to chance things and I quarantined myself.  I decided the best place for that would be my 6th grader’s bedroom because it was probably due for a fumigation anyway.  He happily moved into the basement, my wife got away from my germs, and I got a private room to convalesce (there is a fourth person in the house, but she is a high school girl, so she is indifferent to the whole thing).
As I write you from my solitary confinement (my only visitors are an occasional drop in from one of the dogs who sniff a bit then leave), I realize that I have probably spent too much time by myself, some of it in a fever-induced haze.  Therefore, I think it is prudent for me to give you a few thoughts I have come up with since falling ill so that the outside world doesn’t forget about me:
The concept of a fever will always intrigue me.  If you have a temperature of 98.6 you are fine, but go up a degree or two from there and you are sick?  Doesn’t make sense.  In the summer if it is 98, 99 or 100 out, can you tell the difference?  And why when I was a kid, was a fever the absolute and only factor that could keep me home from school.  I could be vomiting blood, but if it didn’t produce a fever it was off you go.
There are plenty of ways to hydrate when sick, and I have tried them all, but the best option is to take a tall glass and fill it with ice (crushed preferably if you are fancy like me and have a fridge that has that setting) and then put some good lemonade (like from Trader Joe’s) in the bottom half.  Fill the top half with real ginger soda (again from Trader Joe’s) and you are going to hydrate like a champ.  In the mornings, that EmergenC stuff mixed half with water and half with OJ is also good.
No one loves game shows more than me, and being sick is always a great time to catch up on my favorites.  These past two days, I have watched a lot of Jeopardy and concluded that it is the greatest game show of all time and Alex is the best host ever.  This updates a previous declaration I have made about Match Game and Gene Rayburn being superior, but that is not true.  As much as I love Match Game, it is really not much of a game and Gene was more of an entertainer than a true custodian of the genre.  No one surpasses the ability and wit of Alex to handle the gameplay of Jeopardy like he does.  He is a class act and I will treasure every day with him from here on out.
I have also caught a bit of news, which isn’t normally my habit, but I saw the election results in Iowa and New Hampshire and became a bit curious.  Now I realize I may not be of sound mind right now (truth be told am I ever?), but I think I am starting to feel the Bern.  And, I’m not talking about the rash these flannel sheets are giving me.  I don’t agree with everything he says, but he also is sounding more and more like the only adult in the room, which is what we need now more than ever.  I’ll let the fever go down until I fully embrace this one, but look for more from me on this soon.
For reasons that are unclear to me, I seem to crave late 80’s/early 90’s soft rock for my listening pleasure while I am sick.  You know, like Anita Baker, George Michael, Lionel Richie, and Gloria Estefan.  Stuff that usually sounds horrible to me sounds comforting in this state.  Particular songs I have enjoyed in recent hours are “She’s Like the Wind” by Patrick Swayze (from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack) and “Man in The Mirror” by Michael Jackson.  I think some Toto and Glass Tiger got in there too.  My guess is that after my fever spikes, this odd obsession will go away, but I think I will still keep Brenda Russell’s “Piano In The Dark” in my playlist.  Seriously, that is a great song and if you don’t know what I’m talking about, go listen to it now on Spotify.
I found out that I am probably more productive lying in bed than upright and out-of-the-house.  I fixed a bug in my computer that has been wonking for weeks, cleaned out my e-mail box, and worked through a couple of long-standing loose end projects that have been sitting on my virtual desk forever.  I don’t think I have ever been as well-organized as I am right now.  I am starting to think that doing this at least once a quarter will be better for me and my business whether I am sick or not.
There’s more I could share, but I gather this is already more than you probably wanted to hear.  The good news is that after 48-hours of quarantine I am starting to feel better and may be ready to emerge from my hibernation in time for the weekend. I am confident that all of the rest, fluids, and Tylenol has helped speed up my recovery.  I also believe that these past few days have been a real mental boost, which I agree seems odd, but in a world where downtime is hard to come by, I’ve decided that getting some forced on you for a couple of days isn’t the worst thing in the world.  As a matter of fact, I think it has turned into a real positive for me, which is not where I thought this was going to go when I started coughing on Monday.
It has also given me some time to catch up on things literally and figuratively, and I think I’ll come back with a fresh perspective once I am virus-free.  In the meantime, I’ll just lay here minding myself as I sip my ginger ale-lemonade concoction to the relaxing sounds of Kenny Loggins and his song from that Sly Stallone arm-wrestling movie “Meet Me Half Way”.  However, if you don’t hear from me by Sunday, please send help.  It means I’ve gone too far over the edge and started listening to the entire album of The Carpenters Greatest Hits 1969-1974.  At that point, it is no longer a game and serious intervention is needed.  I promise to be careful, but you never know.  I already can hear that chorus in my head:
“Don’t you remember you told me you love me baby…..You said you’d never leave again baby…”
Stay well everyone,
Jim

One Spirit: Helping American Indians Survive
Tumblr media
Today’s Donation Recipient:
One Spirit
My wife has a huge heart. In fact, in my 56 years on this planet, I’m pretty sure I’ve never met anybody who does more to help other people. Kathy’s a knitter and crocheter, and probably 98 percent of everything she creates gets donated to charity. Hats, scarves, mittens, blankets, sweaters… You name it, and my wife has spent time making it and sent it to places far and wide so people less fortunate than us can be more comfortable.
I give Kathy a lot of good-natured ribbing about her creations for charity. I’ll see her knitting a sweater for a little boy or girl (see the photo of such a sweater at the bottom of this post) and ask her when she’s going to make me a sweater. Or I’ll suggest to her that selling the stuff she makes would be a much more economical venture. But over the years, I’ve seen how much happiness my wife gets from helping others, and that makes me much happier than a sweater or a little extra money in the bank account ever would.
One charity Kathy loves to contribute to is One Spirit, a Native American service organization founded to assist and support American Indians. Right now, One Spirit’s focus is on the Oglala Lakota on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. They help the Lakota meet their basic needs and provide a culturally rich life for their youth. Their programs promote an intercultural relationship that recognizes that we are all related and that American Indians are an equal and valued part of our society.
The goal of One Spirit’s programs is to reduce or eliminate hunger; to replace the high drop out and suicide rates among youth with an enthusiasm for learning and pride in their Lakota heritage; and to provide protection from extreme winter temperatures that can drop to 40 below zero.
One Spirit believes:
On planet Earth, we are all related.
We can help break the cycle of poverty by strengthening families, promoting economic development and educational opportunities, and providing programs that bring hope to young Native Americans.
Programs that strengthen families and assist them in the protection of their children from the harsh effects of hunger and cold can change what has become a legacy of poverty and addiction.
It is vitally important to support the elders in continuing their traditional roles of providing expertly crafted traditional clothing, quilting and beadwork that is a symbol of the tribe and teaching the skills for these crafts to younger generations.
Valuing their culture, their language, and their arts is a viable way for the Lakota people to be recognized, as a people, as a nation, as a culture. This recognition will give them a stronger voice to defend their struggles, value their own identity, and make changes from within that promotes self-sufficiency and leadership.
Our programs will help cultivate an intercultural relationship that recognizes that we are all ONE.
I asked my wife to tell me a little bit about One Spirit, and this is what she said:
“One Spirit tries to help people in a variety of ways, including meeting the needs of families who are in crisis due to illness or fire or loss of a job. If you'd rather donate items instead of sending money, you can look at the Okini List—Okini is a Lakota word meaning ‘to share material things’—to see what families need desperately right now. It is very often things we take for granted: toiletries, shoes or boots, food, and/or clothes for their kids for school.
“I refer to this list often and, as a knitter, if I see someone requesting hats or mittens or warm clothing, I can knit a few hats or mittens or sweaters to send. It's a very easy way to contribute items that you know people need. The organization is really good about communicating with donors and letting them know that packages are received.
“In addition, there are sponsorship opportunities. If you'd like to sponsor an elder or a child, you can contact One Spirit and they will match you with someone who needs help. Sponsors are asked to ship packages at least 4 times a year.”
Today’s donation goes to One Spirit. Because glancing at the Okini List today, I see things like “Young mom struggling to make ends meet really needs some help with clothing and blankets for her son”; and “Elder with disabilities has no income and would greatly appreciate some basics, a warm blanket and winter coat.” And you know what? Those are things people shouldn’t have to ask for.

And please watch the video below to learn more about this wonderful organization.

My final A.D. theory (Full circle)
Alright guys, I’m going to take one final crack at who A.D. is, their motive for doing this, and exactly how I believe it’ll full circle since Uber A (A.D) has been the real puppeteer this whole show. Also Wren is involved, he is on the A-team but NOT A.D. and I’m 98% certain of this. Something I wanna point out is what Marlene said how Wren comes back is connected and important with the A.D. reveal. We’ll come back to this later.
Brace yourselves and get ready to read….it’s a long and HUGE full circle theory.
(1) Marlene has said we haven’t met A.D. before BUT has always been around since the pilot. As I said, I thought Wren for 7 years being BIG -A and after Mar quoted this, we have met Wren many times and back in s4 those times were sketchy moments….
(2) Marlene then switched around her wording saying we’ve seen and heard of this person….if this is possible HOW can you see and hear of someone but never meet them?
(3) And finally one big A.D. hint to me has been the obsession in finding out who killed Charlotte and ultimately gave it away for me.
So who is A.D.? First, I think A.D. abbreviates to ‘Accidental Death’ so with that being said A.D. is Bethany Young. ( I realize now someone is shaking their head like not possible or even hating the idea or cant find a motive…but trust me there is one. Hear me out and keep reading!)
(1) We’ve SEEN her only briefly and quite ‘young’. When we’ve seen her we aren’t actually seeing her face (aside from being a little girl) because she’s always covering it and therefore we aren’t actually meeting her but there is a reason for this (wait for it, wait for it…)
(2) We’ve HEARD of her and her voice, (recorded tapes from Radley & Cece’s story of Charles again at Radley.)
(3) She has been around since the Pilot. (THIS part is kinda annoying because clearly throughout the show we didn’t know of Bethany until Alison returned from the ‘dead’ and we then knew another girl was in her grave)…which brought on the semi-story of her that we are still trying to put the pieces together about. (There is a reason I said this). All we knew at first was she escaped Radley at age 17 the night of Alison’s disappearance and was murdered.
Later on we found out:
Mrs Dilaurentis would take Bethany out sometimes to ride horses.
Knew her father and Jessica had an affair (Despised Mrs D after)
She liked to draw (She drew Mrs Cavanaugh’s death, Jessica Dilaurentis face with hatred words and gardening with a monster in the back, she even drew a few distorted selfies of herself, and a young boy being taken away.)
SOMEHOW she had matching Ali clothes from that night and the same bracelet.
Was coming to visit Alison Labor Day and meet her friends, Ali is also who supposedly gave Bethany the matching outfit. (letter)
Been in Radley since a little girl and made friends with Charles (aka Charlotte aka Cece Drake!)
Murdered Mrs Cavanaugh for fear of her snitching on Charles for wearing his dress. (Blamed Charles so Mrs Dilaurentis had to come in and cover it up)
Escaped Radley wearing the matching yellow outfit given to Charlotte the night she was killed to confront Jessica over her affair with her father.
Was accidentally ‘murdered’ by Mona (or that’s what she thought) She thought she was Alison due to the matching clothes and blonde hair.
Melissa Hastings accidentally did kill Bethany by thinking she was Ali already dead (which she was unconscious) and that Spencer really hit her with the shovel after their fight. Trying to cover this up, she buried Bethany (the same spot Ali was buried and dug up from) and she died of suffocation.
Wren Kingston found out Melissa killed Bethany and blew up, broke up, and stopped talking to her.
Phew…wow what a hand cramp…all these were from memory so forgive me if I forgot anything. You get the general idea that Bethany has been a BIG role in the show it just took a long time to see this. And we aren’t done. Not by a long shot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lets talk about the Alison Dilaurentis we used to know (definitely different from the one we have now). Queen bee or bitch Alison. Always in charge and that’s how it had to be around her. IF you tried to step out of line she would destroy you. Take Jenna Marshall for example, she came to Rosewood as the new girl. Alison was jealous someone was about to steal her spotlight so she gave Jenna the choice join her group and be a follower or make an enemy. Jenna chose option 2 and look where that got her.
I believe this letter is proof Alison did know Bethany maybe even wrote trying to lure her to Rosewood to hurt her. I think its entirely possible Alison was again jealous of Bethany. Maybe she was prettier? Again Rosewood was Alison’s town and essentially PLL has been Alison’s show for so long…but I think we’ve been wrong. The real story here has been about Bethany. She’s been the real star all thanks to Alison.
What’s wrong with Bethany? Why can’t we see her face?
So we don’t really know too much backstory of Bethany’s mental health aside from what they should have diagnosed her with at Radley but instead Charles was falsely diagnosed with Intermittent explosive disorder and Bethany definitely had this, not Charles.
I bet she also has a form of OCD because her obsession of having to dress like Alison and Charles/Charlotte is very dangerous also very unhealthy as if she’s trying to be them.
We also don’t know who her parents are or if any of this mental state runs in the family (We’ll get to that)
So about her face always being covered. That’s gonna be a big reveal whether she turns out to be a twin (Spencer or Ali my guess?) or (and what I truly believe) her face is deformed/burned (just like how she draws herself in pictures). As you see in the above picture, her face was fine young so it’s something that happens later on.
So what happened? Here is the full-circle bit.
I think Jenna and Bethany were friends. Possibly before Jenna moved to Rosewood because Bethany isn’t from there. She’s from Bryn Mawr a town ten minutes outside of Rosewood and Jenna maybe had moved from there too? Or maybe they knew each other another way? Besides the how, I definitely think they were and during ‘The Jenna Thing’ when Alison looks inside the garage, she throws the ‘bomb’ in there after she’s seen something.
We only assume it was Jenna but she ‘claims’ she had no idea she was in there. I bet Jenna had company, I bet Bethany was also inside. Alison tells the girls to take off without sharing who or what she seen inside. The bomb sets off, everything catches fire, Jenna is blinded and Bethany is severely burned.
Her once pretty face is ruined. (MOTIVE #1 REVENGE)
The reason I think it’ll all go back to ‘The Jenna thing’? Besides Alison disappearing that was the second biggest secret on the show. -A played with fire a lot, the idea of burning one or more of the liars came up plenty of times.  ( Ex: -A torching Hanna’s doll face, The girls getting locked in The Hastings cabin on fire, Black Widow mask deformed and burned, Toddler Charles setting baby Alison a HOT bath, Aria getting set on fire at Lucas’s loft)
Probably more but again you get the idea.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So finally we’ve reached Wren! So where does he fit in?
First, I want to talk about what Wren told Hanna a while back in s3 that his father was a patient at Radley when he was a little boy and said its why he became a doctor to help people also why he said he transferred to Radley as their doctor. (Lets take a quick walk down memory lane at what Mona caught him at which was not being able to spell diagnoses.) EVERY doctor should know this. Wren is not a real doctor but that’s the most we ever heard of Wren’s backstory.
There is only one other man in this show who also had mental health problems (besides Mike) and that was Aria and Mike’s uncle Scott Montgomery. (Byron’s brother) He was briefly mentioned in s2 due to Mike starting to show signs of depression and the Montgomery’s feared it was just like Scott.
We don’t actually know what happened to Scott but we’re left to fill in the gaps. It’s leading us to believe he took his own life because of what Byron said “My parents left Scott alone and look what happened.” Scott is once again mentioned briefly later on when Aria tells her friends its her uncle’s cabin (but its really Ezra’s).
Lets go back to Bethany and the town she’s from ‘Byrn Mawr’. Well it does abbreviate as B.M. and its Byrn (Byron M?) I think that’s a clear play with words but when looked up it is part of Montgomery county.
Tumblr media
And now lets take a look back at one of Bethany’s signature drawings. The one with the little girl running after a demon taking a little boy away.
Tumblr media
So here are my thoughts:
Scott Montgomery is definitely dead, I just don’t think he died as young as they seem to want you to believe or if he did, he possibly had kids, a boy and a girl, Wren and Bethany. Mental Illness was hereditary at least what we know of with Bethany. (Maybe Wren too but unknown )
Unknown about their mother but since their dad was gone they had one chance to go with immediate family before being put into the system (more than likely separated). Bryon didn't want them. Maybe due to Bethany being dangerous? Maybe Bethany tried to hurt Aria or Mike when they were little? But Byron wanted nothing to do with it, he had his own family.
So with no luck from their family, Wren was put into the system but Bethany was admitted into Radley like her father once was. Completely separated and possible Wren couldn’t contact his sister. Wren was fostered into a UK family where either they had a biological son already or another foster son but his name was Archer Dunhill. As Wren grew he developed his British accent.
Meanwhile, Bethany was still at Radley and going more into future timeline during ‘The Jenna thing’ Wren is pissed and blames himself because he wasn’t able to be there to help his sister when she needed him. He is also angry at what the girls did to her. (unknowing it was all Ali and the liars had no idea) they still never fessed up so in his eyes still to blame. (MOTIVE #1 VENGEANCE FOR BETHANY)
They both come together with another common motive. (MOTIVE #2 HATRED) They can never get back what they missed in each others lives growing up, they hate their family for abandoning them. Unfortunately for Aria she was probably really young when she seen her cousins last and the Montgomery’s think it’s best she doesn’t remember but since she’s family, she is part of this.
Wren started acting very sketchy back in s3 & s4 literally getting into the girls business a lot, stalking Hanna and Spencer still, and then disappeared but we already knew he was helping Cece out which pretty much confirmed part of the team. Eddy Lamb was really terrified of Wren too, he knew something was wrong and he shouldn’t be trusted. Then Eddy mysteriously disappeared too…
Also makes sense why Aria is confused Eddy Lamb said he’s seen her before when she was at Radley. She has probably gone to visit her Uncle in the past or even Bethany. (Possible Bethany had resembled Aria in the face too). Aria has also NEVER shared a scene with Wren which I find kinda odd…
Tumblr media
Also going back to s1 and a few more future seasons there have been a lot of incorrect spelling -A messages, clearly they haven’t been Mona because she’s smarter than that. She called Wren out on his ‘diagnoses’ spelling so I’m lead to believe these past -A messages have been Wren and its just spelt the English way. (ex: nosey bitches). Plus all the UK/British references in the show had to be vivid hints.
A.D. (Bethany) is playing the game not only for her revenge but also revenge on whoever killed Charlotte, she is obsessed and needs answers and will kill whoever it is. (I personally think its Mona). Endgame is wrapping up everything, putting all the pieces together for the liars about Bethany and the real reason they’ve been tormented. (The puzzle pieces on the game will map out a drawing of Bethany’s whether as just a map leading them somewhere or clue revealing who they are.)
This also makes perfect sense as to why Wren snapped and broke up with Melissa Hastings again after finding out she ‘killed’ his sister (Which he now knows she’s still alive and they are finally working together). But with this, I feel like one sibling can have a shot at redemption. So a part of me thinks in the endgame with A.D. will become a battle with Wren and his sister.
His connection isn’t just she’s his sister but also he will try to stop her. Bethany is too far gone mentally for her to just quit. He might even have to kill her to do this. (ultimately, I want Endgame to end with A.D. dying its more proper as a final end for me.)
And that’s my theory. I hope you enjoyed and sorry it took forever to get here but I wanted to map it out full-circle back to the start of everything. If you sat through the whole thing then you must be a real fan who needs answers and closure as much as I do!
-Theory girl.

Log Day 98 (Thursday, October 1, 1925)
The Christophers are arguing, and I’ve been strictly warned by Shader to stay out of it. Joshua is angry that Chrono failed to protect Rosette, and that she made the contract with Chrono. Rosette is angry because Joshua is angry about Chrono. She’s also angry because Joshua appeared to defend my actions.
(He hadn’t, really. He attempted to mediate between myself and Rosette while we were arguing. She took the attempt badly, and they started arguing. When I attempted to intervene Joshua took it badly, and Rosette took it even worse because Joshua said, “Master, go away, let me handle this.” So I left to Rosette screaming at Joshua about not needing to be handled and that Joshua wasn’t my slave.)
That was two days ago, and I am tempted to toss them both into the nearest water collection tank. They have both settled into a sullen sort of silence and glares, so at least it’s quieter. I don’t see how mediating between them would have been a bad idea, but I am willing to respect Joshua’s request that I not interfere.
Shader is continuing the broadcasts, and has actually been in contact with various small communities. We’ve also picked up some broadcasts by remnants of the Magdalen Order. They make dire pronouncements about trusting the advice of demons. They’ve been generally offering assistance, but very little in the way of information/education. There have also been a few direct threats that I’m going to have to address at some point.
Shader wants to drop radios. I don’t think we have the resources to make as many radios as she would like. She’s also scheduled music and other audio programming, as if she were running a radio station. Joshua seems enthused by the idea of a radio station, Rosette bemused.
(Shader is still in contact with Kadros and his allies, which is not as upsetting as I would have thought. One of his allies is a defector of Physician rank, and he’s apparently willing to tutor Shader.)
I am continuing the harvest of the garden rooms, and the chicken flock is doing well.
I have been debating acquiring horses. The garage we used for a stable is still intact. (Mostly because of Genai, he was ridiculously fond of the creatures.) We won’t be able to find gasoline for much longer, and while we could alter the truck and van to run on other fuels, it might be more economic to use horses. On the other hand, I would have to teach Joshua and Rosette how to ride.
Rosette approached me during one of my rest periods. I was in the music room, playing with a ragtime composition I’d been working on intermittently, and I think she was drawn in by the music. “You play the piano?” she asked sounding startled.
“No, Rosette, it’s a player piano,” I said, turning to face her.
She flushed. “I thought you were Joshua.”
“Were you looking for him?”
“No, just exercising.” She looked a little upset, as if remembering she was angry both at Joshua and myself. She glanced at my notes and the music. “I didn’t think you’d play the piano.”
“I play several instruments,” I said. “Clarinet, guitar, organ, piano.”
“Why?” She asked.
“Because I like music,” I said patiently. “And because the only way to amplify and direct as much astral energy as I needed to raise Pandaemonium was through the Oratorio I composed.”
Rosette snorted. “Oh. You composed that thing? I guess I shouldn't be surprised, it was so overdramatic and stuffy...”
I admit to being stung by Rosette’s comment. “I really don't think you're qualified to critique my music, Miss Christopher,” I said.
“I don't need to know how to play to know what something sounds like, do I?” Rosette asked.
“I mean, I'm questioning your musical taste, if it exists, and your bias,” I said.
Rosette glared. “I have musical taste!”
“I doubt that,” I replied. “Also, you’re biased.”
Rosette made an indignant sound. “Okay, I’m biased, but I do too have musical taste!” She named bands and singers, and we somehow ended up discussing music for the next hour.
Joshua had an asthma attack this evening, possibly exacerbated by dust (he was cleaning air filters) and pushing himself too hard and insisting he was fine. Rosette fussed, Joshua snapped, and then Shader went off into a tirade. “Asthma is not psychosomatic, it is not a mental illness, and if it were a mental illness it wouldn’t make Joshua any more or less fit than any other human.” She then went into a thunderous rant about human medicine with side trips into her feelings about eugenics and Social Darwinism that left the Christopher siblings staring.
“Shayshay, I thought we were supposed to let the Christophers sort each other out,” I say when she finally winds down.
Shader glared at the old nickname, her ears back and tail twitching. “Don’t call me that,” she snapped.
“Shayshay?” Rosette asked.
“Shay means ‘busy’ in a ‘really curious and sticking your nose into things’ kind of way,” Joshua explained. “Like a little kid.”
“Joshua!” Shader protested indignantly.
“She was really active as a child,” I said. “Chrono and I were given the job of watching over her in hopes of keeping us out of trouble and learning responsibility. She was about six, we were about ten.”
Rosette looked baffled. “It’s really hard to imagine you as a little kid.”
“He’d look just like Chrono, Rosette,” Joshua said.
“I know, but still,” she said, frowning. “It’s just really weird.”
“They were great big brothers,” Shader said. “When they weren’t making up stupid nicknames.”
“Stupid nicknames you earned,” I said.
“Urgh,” Shader said. “I’m sorry about the outburst,” she said. “I found something out about something that happened to a friend a few days ago. It was pretty bad, and you two kind of reminded me of it.”
Joshua apologizes, Rosette asks about what happened. Joshua points out that whatever it is, Shader might not want to talk about it. This almost starts the arguments back up again, but Shader interjects with, “No, it’s okay Joshua. It was something he told me about, but I don’t think it’s really private, just awful.”
“And we reminded you of it?” Joshua asked.
Shader nodded. “Kind of? I mean your situation and his isn’t really similar but just…” She makes a gesture with her hands. “The concept that the sick or crippled are a waste of resources. The way people get locked up in attics or worse. People being sterilized because ignorance and a lack of resources is the same as being mentally limited because if they were intelligent they wouldn’t be poor.” She took a breath. “And I’m going to start ranting again.”
She took another breath. “Okay. Once upon a time there was a family of sorcerers who were very rich. They very strongly supported various eugenics laws, and then something terrible happened. Something was very wrong with their son. He stopped speaking, he became overwhelmed easily, he stopped making eye contact. The slightest of changes in daily activities could upset him. Since he had previously seemed to be precociously bright, this was very upsetting to the family. They wanted to hide this strange illness because it would be a scandal to have a child like this.”
“It probably would have been better for them to lock him in an attic or put him in an institution somewhere and forget about him than what they did do. They used sorcery, and began controlling him like a puppet. Spells to make him act ‘normal,’ a demon to pull the strings and make him seem like the bright little boy they remembered him as. And it seemed to work, and they almost forgot about the spells and how they had imprisoned their son in his own body. How they turned a demon into his nursemaid. Then the world ended, and the spells broke.”
“The demon broke free?” Rosette guessed.
“No, they both did,” Shader said. “Galley and the demon broke free, and neither of them remembers what happened to the family, but they are pretty sure there was a fire, because Galley was badly burned.”
Rosette looked horrified, so did Joshua. “Are they okay now?” Rosette asked.
Shader nodded. “Yes. They’ve been through a lot, but they’re better. They have friends, they have a community. But I’m still upset about it, so I’m sorry I blew up.”
“Kadros’ allies?” I asked.
Shader nodded again. “Two of them, anyway,” she said.
“You’re getting along with them very well,” I said.
She shrugged. “They’re nice people, even if Kadros is a Pursuer.”

Even just the littlest things like be out all day at the beach without worrying about what my body was going to do and how I would take care of kids amidst and episode, and where was the closest bathroom. I'd just BE in the world without my body's homeostasis being a constant thought. I'd also eat whatever the hell I wanted. What would you like people to know about your daily life? *The amount of mental gymnastics involved with daily life. How showing up for kids constantly feels nearly impossible when you're not sure that your body will show up for you. The work that it takes to do that - to be strong and keep going and still go out and show up, even when you're terrified, in pain, etc. As a non-mother, I could bow out of anything. But as a mother, I cannot. What would make living and moving in the world easier for you? *My own private bathroom and napping room attached to me haha. Honestly, having kids that are old enough to be totally self sufficient. I don't want them to grow up because I know I will miss these days, but I know that when I am not caring for so many people, I will finally have enough energy to sustain my own body.Do you have any life hacks? *They are always changing. I will have a good couple of months and think "I have this figured out!" and then a week later I will be in crisis again and have to re-learn everything I learned before. I am honest with my kids when I feel like I cannot do something and why. I don't know if that's a life hack. I have Xanax with me at all times, but I have only taken about two in my life. But just having them with me helps to know I have a safety net if things get really bad - like a panic attack about my digestion. I have a protocol I do for kidney stones - I only go to the ER if I either have a high fever, or the pain is too excruciating. Otherwise, I take some herbal supplements that supposedly break stones, I drink tons of lemon water and I sit in the bathtub and basically have a kidney stone home birth. I had a real life home birth with my son, so I know what I'm doing hahahahaha. I also don't eat any food before taking my daughter to school. Can't trust the digestion in the morning. I only eat when I'm at home for a few hours. I also do everything weeks/months in advance so I can eject myself if I get sick, things like Christmas shopping, back to school shopping, birthday party planning. I never leave anything until the last minute in case I need to hand it off. What kind of support do you get from family or friends? *My husband is super supportive. He's had to be the closer on Easter baskets, Thanksgiving dinners (I had E. Coli last year). Although he is healthy as a horse, so he can never truly understand what it feels like to be in survival mode much of the time. I have a mother-in-law near-ish who will come take the kids for me. But really, the support is for the kids, not for me specifically. But still, I feel lucky to have anyone to help.Have you ever had someone not believe you have an invisible illness because of your appearance and if so are there any examples that stand out? *I have been petite me entire life, and I currently weigh about 98 pounds, so EVERYONE loves to comment on my body - how skinny I am, how I must not eat, what's my secret, how lucky I am. I used to just smile and whatever, but now I say, "Oh, I'm missing parts of my intestines that make it so I can't process fats and nutrients. I'm one flu away from an ER visit. Not as glamorous as it looks." People think it's okay to comment on one's body, especially when you're skinny because they don't see it as shaming, but it's really none of their business. How has your chronic illness affected your relationships? *I have a strong marriage, but I can't help but feel like he got swindled a little bit. When we got married, I wasn't this bad. So I imagine my husband married to some fun, healthy woman with all her internal organs, traveling and eating their way around the world. So I can't help but feel some sadness and guilt for that for him, but then I also know that it's brought us closer and made us more humble and understanding of others. In my larger family, I don't like the feeling of being the "broken one." People are always asking, "You feeling better?" and I know they... by Monica Michelle

Some people go through their lives without ever experiencing the death of a loved one. My husband was one of those people. The grandparents he liked died when he was a young boy. He only vaguely remembered them. His other grandfather died before he was born. The surviving grandmother was a person he actively disliked, a woman who was initially uninterested in him and then actually hostile toward him as he grew up. For the most part, his relatives lived for a long time. His father died at 98 and his mother outlived him, dying at 96. Death made him uncomfortable. He didn’t like thinking about it. He hated funerals and memorials. When he got sick with his deadly Merkel cell cancer which was already metastatic, he looked at me in wonder and said, “the first person I mourn will be myself.” I felt tremendous sympathy for him. He was an innocent. I was not.
Death was familiar territory to me. It was always part of my family’s conversation, along with illness and disease. Michael and I always likened our differences to that movie scene in Annie Hall where Woody Allen’s family was shouting about diabetes and Diane Keaton’s was talking about rummage sales. Worlds apart.
The deaths which affected me most started when I was thirteen and my baby cousin died on the day I graduated from 8th grade. My parents went off to be with hers.
I struggled with emotions ranging from a deep sadness to guilt that I was upset that my mom and dad wouldn’t see my walk down the aisle, with my blue and white ribbons pinned to my dress and my gold honor roll pin with blue writing in its center.
That was just the beginning. As I went through my teens, the only grandfather I knew died. That was sort of normal. Then as I entered my twenties, the suicides started.
The first was one of my cousins, Dennis, who shot himself. Next my grandmother died, a normal death from old age.  In my 30’s, it was my other cousin, Eliot who committed suicide. Eliot was like a little brother to me. He leapt from a building in Chicago. I attended his funeral with my baby son under my arm. The year after he died, my friend Fern committed suicide. I have yet to recover from that death. She was a victim whose mental health was destroyed by others. I’d call hers a wrongful death. Despite trying everything I could think of to stop her, it happened anyway.
The year after that, my parents both got cancer. My mother survived but my dad died at 67. At the time, I thought he’d had a long life. My, how getting older changes one’s view of longevity. His death was my first bedside vigil. I cared for many of his physical needs as my mom was still recovering from her own illness. I crossed all kinds of boundaries between a daughter and a father. I knew I was changing from those three deaths in a row but I wasn’t sure how. I reeled from their absences. But there was nothing to do but go forward and recognize that being mindful of what was important in life needed to be something I could figure out. Fast. I think I could call that “afterward” period, just a few years before I turned 40, the time when I honed my best critical thinking skills.
I was very intellectually conscious of who I wanted to be, as a daughter, a wife, a mother and friend. I knew that I wanted to be present. I wanted to be available for people who experienced traumas similar to mine. I guess that’s because the process of grief and loss can be painfully isolating. You often wind up feeling like you have a contagious illness that everyone wants to avoid. So on I went.
As I passed through my 40’s and 50’s, people continued to die. There were the uncles and aunts. There were young teens who were friends of my daughter’s, kids she’d known from as early on as day care and grammar school. I wept at the unfairness of life and their wrenching funeral services. There were parents of my kids’ friends. I organized food trains and visited the patients and listened to them and their spouses. I stood in line by myself at their visitations as Michael never went with me. He couldn’t stand those things. My friends’ parents started dying. I went to as many of those events as I could. Dying is part of life, I would tell myself. Of course it is.
Then in 2012, just before my 61st birthday, Michael was diagnosed with his cancer. I couldn’t believe it. Not Michael, the strong, athletic beast, as my kids called him. Not the progeny of all those people in his family who were so long-lived. But there it was. And my grooming in the world of illness and death made me ready for what turned into our 5 year ride on the cancer rollercoaster, up and down, up and down. So many treatments, moments of hope and health, moments of despair and teetering on the edge of death. We talked about everything during his illness. Both of us felt that as devastating as it was, that we hadn’t reached the worst of the worst. That would be if one of our kids got terribly sick. Both of us questioned whether we could survive that. During the few years before his disease exacted the ultimate price, Michael hovered at the edge of life in 2015. My blows kept on coming.
My brother died that April. Michael was weak but pulled back from the brink in June with a new treatment. He was still trying to gain strength when my mother died in July. Her death was followed later that week by the death of our beloved collie, Flash.
I was learning about all types of grief, the sudden, the acute, the drawn out. The surprise grief that bursts out unexpectedly, just when you think you have your act together. And then after a brief respite, it turned out that Michael would never have to face the question of whether he could stand anything awful happening to our kids. After a heroic effort to stave it off, his sneaky cancer returned with a vengeance and took him out, after a grim struggle for life that lasted from January, 2017 to May 28th of that year. I spent myself down to tatters in those months. I stayed with him in the hospital for 32 days and nights. I was able to get him home where through herculean efforts, he survived for close to three months in a blur of home health visits, treatments and eventual cognitive decline. But he died where we’d lived our life, with me holding his hand and our children beside us.
After that, I was whatever is beyond exhausted. My son departed to his postdoc across the world in Guam and my daughter and her family began to resume their normal life. So I could recover and my son could participate, we delayed an event to honor Michael until December of 2017. That’s when I began to understand that this sadness about Michael had a life of its own. I was going through my days with the spirit of Michael on one side of me and this active pain, almost physical in nature, on the other side of me.
Then, about a week and a half after Michael’s death, a dreadful crime was committed in our community. A foreign national graduate student who’d just recently entered the country to begin her work was kidnapped and quickly assumed murdered. The case got a lot of press. An all-out search began, but within a very few days, the FBI had identified the person who they alleged had committed the crime. He was arrested at the end of June. Public outcry was enormous. The student was Chinese and the university in our community has a large Chinese population.
My daughter is a federal public defender, locally based. When I heard about the case, my first thoughts were, please, please don’t let this case fall in my kid’s lap. Our whole family was reeling with fatigue and grief over Michael’s death. Something this enormous was terrifying to me for her, just having lost her dad, at a time when we were so stunned with sadness. Then came the welcome news that a local law firm had been retained for the case. I breathed more easily and slipped back into focusing on trying to comprehend Michael’s death at the now early-to-me age of 67, the same age as my dad was when he died, that I’d once considered old. I was working hard to cope as was everyone in our family.
Our little unit of four was always a tight, intimate group. Such a huge piece was now missing and we were trying to negotiate that big hole. Who thought that a new pressing issue could push its way into our void? But that’s exactly what happened.
Despite the fact that Illinois abolished the death penalty in our state years ago, the federal attorney general, Jeff Sessions, attached the death penalty to this local case in one of his last parting shots in his position. Twenty states have abolished the death penalty. Nine others have a formal moratorium on it in place. That this could happen in a state that clearly banned capital punishment was astonishing. Although most progressive countries have quit this practice, our country remains among the ones where it is still allowed. For me, I have always considered the death penalty to be institutionalized murder. I’ve never understood how family members of a crime victim can derive any solace from the execution of the perpetrator. Their loved one is still gone and will never come back. A personal opinion, yes. But to me, murder is murder no matter who is doing it.
In early September of 2017, the private firm that had been handling this sensational and ultimately gruesomely detailed case, withdrew from the defense, thereby handing it over to my daughter’s office. Suddenly, barely three months after Michael’s death, my daughter was going to be a primary attorney in a case where the client’s life was at stake. I don’t think she ever thought she would be on a capital case. Why would she, in a state that had eliminated the practice? Suddenly a new heavy weight was thrust onto our family’s shoulders. In addition to carrying our pain about Michael, we now had the burden of wondering what this case would do to my kid, who had to rapidly learn the management of a murder trial with death as a possible sentence.
As time went by, the demands on her time increased in many ways. She needed to travel to conferences and to receive training. That meant absences from her husband and children in addition to me. All jobs mean that time must be taken away from family life. But this was different. The stakes were high. I knew my daughter was laboring under the onus of feeling that she was now responsible for a life or death verdict for her client. She had other attorneys and investigators on her team but as time moved along, it was apparent that she would be in a primary role in the case. I could feel the pressure on her, pressure that was coming from within. My daughter takes her job and its constitutional definition very seriously. Throughout her life, she has always given everything to the tasks before her. As a serious athlete through much of her life, at the end of a competition, she wanted the ball in her hands, to try to attain a victory. And I knew that she would, as the athletic expression goes, leave everything on the floor. But this case appeared to be a slam dunk for the prosecutors. What would happen to my daughter’s psyche? The grief I was, and still am, experiencing over Michael’s death was like no other. But I recognized that my daughter would really need me to be her mother during this unexpected situation. Not just the sad, lonely mother missing my husband and her dad, but the mother who I’d been in “the before,” in the time when worries were considerably less than in this new combination of nightmares.
How in the world would I negotiate this situation?  I never felt that I lost any part of myself when Michael died. He and I were both strong and independent. Being strong all the time gets old, though, and I was now in a position where letting down could affect my daughter at a time when I felt like she needed me. Her own family needed her. Struggling to be the best attorney, a good wife and a good mom was huge. The last thing she needed was for me to be in some pathetic state. We went through all of 2018 and the first five months of this year, barreling closer to the time when the trial would begin. Because the public opinion in our community was so visible, there’d been a change of venue and while my daughter hoped to come home every weekend, the workload for a trial like this didn’t allow for that. So she moved away for the duration of the proceedings. What a nightmare for all of us. Could there be anything harder than being separated from your loved ones in the most intense time in your life?
That’s what my kid faced as well as those of us who love her. During the guilt phase of the trial which began in early June, the defense admitted guilt on the part of their client due to powerful evidence that the prosecution had assembled. It was ugly. There was an endless stream of negative social commentary from who I call the uninformed haters, the people who don’t understand what the law says and who were vengeance-driven and angry at my daughter for doing her job. There was also support but it took awhile for that to become evident as many people didn’t actually know what was happening. Perhaps they might have been more vocal earlier along if they had. The admission of guilt meant that everything would come down to the penalty phase when the jury would have to decide whether the defendant would receive the death penalty or life in prison without parole. This case was like the proverbial dark cloud, hanging over us all and encasing us in it at the same time that we were mourning. Now it was a question of life or death. My daughter who had for almost the duration of this case had been missing her dad, who’d slid into death before her eyes, now held a life in her hands and seemingly in her power. We talked about whether she was prepared for a death sentence and I know she was trying. Last Wednesday, a week after my knee replacement surgery, I limped into our local federal courthouse which provided a live feed of the proceedings to the local community.
The prosecutors presented their case first and at the end of their statement m, said death was the only correct penalty for the case. Then my daughter stood to present the closing statement for the defense. I was mesmerized by her. She spoke with no notes and away from the lectern in the room. She spoke from her heart for 64 minutes and when she finished, I wept. She spoke for life and I sat there remembering all the deaths and the struggles for life I’ve seen and the complexity of what it all means.  For the first time I thought there was a glimmer of possibility for saving a life. The jury deliberated a day and a half and finally told the judge they couldn’t be unanimous in their verdict.
That meant an automatic life sentence for the client. My valiant daughter had pulled off a miracle with her genuine and sincere closing statement. I feel terrible sadness for the family of the victim. But I still believe that the client death would never assuage their pain. I am incredibly proud of my daughter for her strength and conviction. She came home Friday and I saw her a little bit then and a little bit yesterday. She is exhausted and needs rest for a long time after this intense haul.
I will always wonder if I might have felt any differently during my process of grieving Michael, absent the extra load of this nightmare. For my daughter too. I’ll never know. What I do know is that today, I feel the relief of this case having ended. To avoid the blistering heat, I sat in my house relaxing, doing busywork and listening to music. My music stream, which plays many artists’ stations at random, managed to play, one right after another, virtually every meaningful evocative song that makes Michael’s face appear in front of my eyes, although I was heaving and sobbing so much, seeing him was difficult.
I finally unplugged and fled to my garden where I watered and pulled weeds from a seated position and pondered if I’m going back to that place I might have sealed off right after Michael died. The writhing in agony place. There wasn’t enough room for it as I practiced my mothering skills. Maybe I won’t go back there. We’ll see. But in the death and life moments, emotions and grief are mutable and unpredictable. That is one thing I’m sure I know.
Death and/or Life? Some people go through their lives without ever experiencing the death of a loved one. My husband was one of those people.

Men’s mental health: How dad’s suicide helped me become a ‘real man’

Men’s mental health: How dad’s suicide helped me become a ‘real man’
IT WAS Saturday, March 28, 1998, when I received the news that would cast a shadow above the relaxation of my lifetime.
I was 16 decades outdated, and nothing would ever be ‘normal’ as I understood it, yet again. My father had killed himself and now, 20 decades on, I nevertheless have a father-formed hole in my coronary heart that won’t at any time be stuffed.
My dad and mom experienced break up up five many years before. Additional in truth, my father experienced walked out on us — my mum, my two young brothers and me — the day before my 11th birthday. It would be the initial of a lot of I would expend with out him.
We saw father on university holiday seasons. Most periods we invested a week with him, and most summers it was two months.
But in the summertime of 1997/98, I’d turned 16 and my brothers and I put in 3 total months with our dad — it was the longest extend of time given that he moved absent.
That summer season, dad and I connected as two individuals: it felt at the time like we were starting to be much more than just father and son — we were being getting buddies.
Dad promised to get me an old automobile for my 16th/17th/18th birthday offers and said we’d do it up together for the duration of faculty vacations. He was a auto guy and said I could have any kind of older automobile I wanted. The selection was mine … so lengthy as it was a V8 Holden Leading. What a option! I was content regardless, as it would type-of be ‘our’ motor vehicle.
My dad and I had our first beer together and our second cigarette … our very first shared smoke was when I was seven and requested for one particular out of curiosity and father obliged (1988 was a quite diverse time!).
I talked with father about my idea of shifting in with him following I concluded significant college, and my approach to go to uni in Warrnambool and enable with his fourth son, my substantially-young brother, who’d be school age by then. Father-and-son taking on the planet with our restored automobile. I could not wait around!
All my lifetime my father was my idol, my hero, even with him currently being moody and absent a ton, even in advance of he moved absent. Father was large and powerful at 6 foot 3, and as reliable as a brick s***household. He was a tough footy player and usually kicked luggage of objectives, obtained into a fight on the industry (he normally gained), and even took a grand remaining-saving speccy 1 calendar year, which I had on video clip and watched a ton.
Information.com.au is highlighting men’s psychological wellness troubles as element of its campaign The Silent Killer: Let’s Make Some Noise in support of Gotcha4Daily life and the Movember Basis.
In distinction with the hard male some others generally noticed him as, my normally-tender father overtly instructed me he liked me and hugged me no matter how old I was. His good stories at bed time experienced manufactured me huge-eyed with marvel. That really like of tales and open up expression of appreciate are also large components of my have character as a man or woman, specially now as a father, with three kids of my own.
So in 1998, to be connecting with my father as a mate and arranging a potential with him, was a particular dream that was beginning to occur genuine.
But … none of the issues my father and I prepared basically happened. Not 1 of them. Due to the fact 8 months soon after that summer time jointly, just as we’d started out to come to be the friends that I experienced extensive wished for us to be, my father wrote a be aware of goodbye, walked into his garage, and took his have life.
My father still left me. Yet again. And permanently. Why would a father pick out to leave his children permanently? My love for him turned clouded by hatred for what he’d completed.
I’ve puzzled given that on so numerous instances, why he didn’t just pack up and take off to the center of nowhere for on the other hand lengthy he essential a break for. Why not just disappear right up until he felt good again?
But he didn’t. He opted out of my existence in the most permanent and irreversible way.
In the 20 a long time considering the fact that father killed himself, I too have faced some major difficulties. Whether or not it’s from genetics or trauma from elements of my childhood, I’m not certain, but psychological ill-health has come really savagely for me, too.
My first key dim interval climaxed when I was 22. I was ingesting a whole lot at that time and not dealing with issues well. Following a single also a lot of setbacks (and significantly much too several drinks on this individual evening), I was in more pain than I felt I could tackle.
I walked out of the pub and jumped off a bridge. I landed on the road about seven metres below, and mostly due to the fact of how drunk and limp I was, I survived with only a broken pelvis and wrist.
3 months of bed rest, actual physical treatment and psychological rehabilitation followed. Through people prolonged and pretty bleak months I arrived to see just how pained my father must have been at the finish, and how helpless he should have felt. I experienced just about joined him, but a tiny flicker inside me hadn’t gone out, and I soldiered on.
‘I FELL Apart COMPLETELY’
I turned a father 10 many years ago and it was the most wonderful sensation to say the really the very least. Father’s Working day would be a joyful working day for me once again, just after a decade of crying on the initial Sunday of September every single year — on the lookout at the sky and cursing my dad.
My son Leo was afterwards joined by his brother Gus and sister Ada. I have a few great little ones who are all delighted, healthful, and good, and I’m so happy of them.
But as it so often happens for people who have battled the Black Canine, I’ve again been visited by mental unwell-wellbeing, even however my existence — on paper — was rather excellent. This final dark time period for me culminated in possessing a total breakdown just as my marriage to my kids’ mom ended a few of a long time back.
Just before my marriage ended, the producing was on the wall for a few yrs. My then-spouse and I had grown as well far aside and weren’t ready to bridge that considerable divide.
A couple of weeks just after my now ex-spouse and I both agreed we must separate, my GP forced me to choose a month off function so I could aim solely on surviving — it truly was that fraught.
I discovered a spot to are living, moved out, and fell aside fully. I was informed to just take one more month off perform, then one more, and at some point I resigned from my promising company vocation and uncovered my complete life altering all at the moment. And every working day due to the fact, without having exception, the risk of suicide has popped into my intellect as a feasible way to wipe away the damage and sadness and tears and despair that have virtually drowned me.
But the upside of losing my father to suicide signifies I know what it’s like to be the child left driving. And it’s definitely, truly, terrible.
THE SILENCE THAT KILLED MY Dad
My father did not talk to for any support. He did not speak to everyone about how bleak things seemed, enable alone see a experienced for healthcare help. And that silence intended he died.
I want the opposite final result for my little ones, and for me as a father. So in buy to achieve the reverse end result to my dad, I also choose the reverse techniques to him: I speak to folks, I search for and settle for clinical support, and I really do not considerably care what other persons imagine of me remaining so candid.
I am incredibly open up about my troubles with my psychological wellbeing. I am now pretty open up about my suicide try 15 a long time in the past.
It’s my love of storytelling that led to me sharing the tale of my father as a 1-man or woman ‘compassionate comedy’ exhibit, Humpty Dumpty Daddy. At fringe and comedy festivals all-around the nation, I have stood on phase and poured my heart out to audiences for an hour at a time, sharing every thing I have in this short article, plus additional.
The reaction from audiences has mostly been pretty heart-warming. Soon after I wander off phase, I wait around at the exit and thank men and women for coming together. And each solitary time, I have viewed one particular or extra burly males with quivering faces, or open up arms for a significant person-hug, or a pair of eyes that bore into mine with a declaration of camaraderie and shared trials.
Girls are much more verbally open up about what they believe and the raw heat and honesty they say they feel from observing one of my reveals. My audiences seem to be to be 2:1 women of all ages to males, but it’s the adult males who have more powerful and additional impactful psychological responses. Really a couple of have contacted me later on on and shared their personal story, and some have come to be people I still correspond with. It is amazingly exclusive, and I’m so grateful that by staying vulnerable and open, I feel related to far more individuals than I at any time have.
I know now it is not my fault, but I was not more than enough to hold my dad alive. He missing all hope wholly, and of training course I desire I could have completed some thing to end him. But I could not. I have the reward of dwelling in a more being familiar with time than my father, although there is a long, very long way to go, as the 10 for each cent maximize of suicides from 2016 to 2017 attests.
And even though it is taken me almost 20 several years to recognise, I can now see that the finest lesson my father at any time taught me was what NOT to do.
My father felt a failure at daily life and succeeded in dying. I failed at dying but am starting to come to feel a achievements at lifetime. Not a poor improve in 1 generation.

Romania vs Cardassia Prime
It is actually surprisingly difficult to organize all the different aspects of this into one coherent essay so this will probably be in 2 parts. I think quite a number of you have heard me draw similarities between Cardassian culture and political climate and Romanian culture and political climate (specifically during the tail “end” of the Cold War era).  It comes to no surprise because dictatorships have similar features even in sci fi literature/movies/tv shows, but, let’s start with the basics.  In Romania during the communist period: there are actually several periods but two are official because the country changed its name from Romania to:
-People’s Socialist Republic of Romania (1947-1965) -Socialist Republic of Romania (1965-1989)
The two periods are actually fairly distinct, but the period I will be talking most from is the Socialist Republic of Romania. Effectively, I did not grow up “during the Communist period”, but I was taught by teachers who were and the influence was far reaching.  My parents, however, did grow up during the Communist period. My mother was born in the same year as Madonna. My father was born two years prior. At that time, Communism had been in effect since 1947. This is just to give people an idea of how relatively quickly things became “normal”.
“Nothing comes before the Party and the State”. These are the first two priorities for any citizen. For reference, the Communist Party is the ONLY acceptable political party at this point. There is only ONE candidate at the polls but people are required to actually go out and vote so that the numbers, for a while, showed a 98% or 99% “vote” for a specific candidate. (First was Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej and then Ceauseascu).
The third priority is the Family. The Party did award large families with certain benefits, including money, so that they lived above the poverty level. Large families were considered as 10+ children and came with a commendation from the government (a medal) for the “work serving the State”. There are, at this point, several awards and commendations issued.
My grandfather received several for his work in his industry (he literally built part of the industry in my city of birth and had 5,000 people under him), which he sincerely considered worthless garbage. I have a different perspective than he did and we argued many times about it.
My parents’ schooling, jobs and places to live were decided by their family situation to an extent but to a greater extent by the State. My parents were admitted into university (Polytechnique is the equivalent) based on the number of placements which the State predicted to be required for very specific projects. As a result, the marks of the newly admitted students mattered greatly, as the project one would be assigned to could be in a better city or worse city. My parents were in their early 20s when they married and as a result were assigned together in the same city, but based on my mother’s marks and my grandfather’s work position, which guaranteed them both jobs. One could not be without a job; there were three shifts where my mother worked, for instance: 8 AM to 4 PM, 4 PM to 12 AM and 12 AM to 8 AM. Monday-Friday. Weekends were for volunteering (you guessed it, each citizen was assigned a volunteer position until they had children). The State located people who were unemployed and assigned them into jobs constantly, but there was some logic to this because one was assigned a job based on their education. My parents were both engineers, which was a reputable field; both worked in automotive. At that time, Romania produced its own cars, trucks, etc but we still did import some models and my grandfather would later win a French car from the lottery. This was unusual because by then (70s) the country was beset with isolationist policies as a result of Russian interests and isolationist policies. (if you want to know more just look up Brezhnev… a lot of things will then start making more sense). Post communism, as students, we were all constantly evaluated with tests and compared against each other from a very young age. Standardized tests were and are still a matter of course in Romania. Each year, we had exams and in my school, the “passing grades” were far above 51% as we were competing with each other for a very limited amount of spots. For example, I was in a class of 30 students, and my marks had to be above 80% at the end of each year, but I competed for a spot at the end of 4th grade and was to compete again for a different spot for high school (same school) at the end of 8th grade. These were standardized tests for several subjects, so a lot of us spent long hours in tutoring to ensure that our grades were up to par. We also had behaviour marks: if we skipped school (unacceptable) or talked back (we could be hit for this as punishment: that’s the only thing that has been a visible change since I was in 4th grade vs 8th grade for me because the Ministry of Education passed laws against it. But I was hit in 4th grade. Hard and more than once. Once I distinctly remember it happened because I stood up for a classmate. I got in trouble for doing this more than once in my school career, but … I never quite learned that lesson lol! Class punishments for one student’s transgression remained common, but no hitting.) In Canada I explained the above to my therapist and she was kind of shocked, lol, but she had asked me how long I had been struggling with anxiety and I did not have an accurate answer. Mental illness in Romania is not and was definitely not acceptable during the Communist period. People were put into forced care, which often lasted for months or years, if they weren’t outright killed. LGBTQ+ people were never permitted out of the closet, and they were subjected to conversion therapy. (I argue that the latter would not happen on Cardassia Prime, but that’s another essay for another day)
Everything was rationed, especially starting mid 1970s. That means food was rationed (people had cards with lists that were checked off by government workers, if I find a copy of ours I’ll post it) gas was rationed (no more than 2 large flat metal cans per vehicle and gas stations were extremely far apart) and the government set up a system for clothing: if one had had a baby, a family member could collect a baby box which could contain anything from pacifiers to formula bottles, to formula and baby food and possibly blankets. No regular citizen was ever to be informed on what exactly they were going to receive. I asked my mother what my box contained and she told me my grandfather lined up for it and the workers recognized him and she believes they may have given him a better one/extras. We’re not entirely sure, but mine was useful. It had a pacifier I never used, a formula bottle (we still have that) and a few other things.
There is no church and no religion which can come before Party or State. The Orthodox Church is the official state religion, but it is in and out of favour depending on how much they can “serve”. Every citizen MUST serve The Party and the State fully. This meant everyone over the age of 18, voting age, is a member of the Communist Party. (my parents and their parents were members; I am certain my grandmother burned her party ID card after December 1989  :) ) Socially it was more acceptable to be Atheist.  So you are probably wondering: how did the State effectively control people for that long?  -propaganda; this was present everywhere from the more subtle (posters in the workplace) to more obvious (party meetings, union meetings, schooling)  -The Securitate (this is that Obsidian Order). I often joke about the Obsidian Order. A lot of people probably would get upset with me, but the truth is that most of us bore the weight of the Securitate by making dark jokes about them because there was little choice. Many people disappeared without a trace and this happened pretty frequently. My grandfather told me of many arrests which would happen in the middle of the night. The next day, everyone (co-workers, family members, etc) were to pretend that the person who had been arrested never existed. That’s not an exaggeration. Most homes were miked/bugged so one’s phone conversations were recorded. Additionally (or perhaps even more importantly), family members were enlisted to report each other. So, mother reported son/daughter and children were expected to do the same.  Another way in which people were recorded was in the workplace and restaurants. Specifically, a clear, good quality microphone was placed in or under flower vases in restaurants, and restaurant owners were directed to place a flower vase on each and every table. That’s a small example :) .
The members of Securitate did not have uniforms normally because they were practically undercover at all times; they also received information via travelling and talking with regular people as if they were having a friendly conversation, or playing with children in parks. (surprisingly effective) However, the Securitate did have military/army designations, such as “Lieutenant”, “Major”, “General”.   My grandfather, one time, in an act of open defiance, actually raised his voice at two agents who were talking on the same line he was using. He knew he was being recorded, but he was trying to conduct business for the day… and the two agents had been making weekend plans… he never heard them again. After the 1989 Revolution (or Coup d’etat), my grandfather continued to openly greet former Securitate members in public by their former designation.  Many of them were old men by the late 90s. He always told me, after we’d part with such people, that I must continue to be careful, lest I be followed, watched and reported on. He frequently insulted them with information he’d obtain through unofficial channels… but although he was offered better pay, positions in the Party and a job, he’d turned it down saying he was “an engineer” and “I am better serving as an engineer for the State”.
I can and will answer questions about any of this.  (Part two will be at some other point in time... if anyone is interested in reading another 1500 words...)

Is your insurance affected by a traffic misdemeanor in california?
So I got a ticket today and got in trouble for two things 1) Expired registration sticker (I had a 2010 registration sticker, I was just lazy and forgot to put it on) 2) I don't have my year yet, but I still had two other passengers in my car. Apparently you can only take passengers under 21 years old in your car after you've had your license for a year. Anyways, my dad is really pissed about insurance rates or something. Do they go up for the ticket I just described? On the ticket, it said the only non-correctable traffic violation was the two underage passengers in the car.""
""Car insurance, full coverage versus liability?""
I drive a 98 Chevy Suburban, because it has a lien holder (bank) it has had full coverage insurance the life of the loan. Next month when we get our tax refund we plan to pay it off, not that much owed. Due to it's age wouldn't it be logical to drop the full coverage down to liability insurance. I know with it being that old the full coverage insurance would hardly pay out anything if it was a total loss anyway.""

I am trying to understand pros vs cons of HMO vs PPO. We are a family of three (myself, spouse and newborn). We do not have much health issues. Car insurance for new driver that will not drive far..?
HI, I am turning 17 in november, and already looking at cars. The cars i am looking at are getting insurance at over 5000 (im male) a year fully comp! The car is only like 2500..... The thing is i will barely use my car as i live really close to school, so will walk all weekdays - especially as i am banned from parking in school as i live too close. I will occasionally use it on weekends - but if i go out in the evening im not going to take my car - drink driving.. So the only time i will use my car is quite alot in the holidays and very occasionally on some weekends, and therefore think 5k for a few car trips is ridiculous.. So is there any form of insurance where you pay for how far you drive? BTW the cars i was loooking at are 1L's, peugeots and vauxhalls mainly. These ok? Im looking at nothing over 60,000 miles and 7 years old max - i think i will do 3000 max a year. IM looking to sped about 2500 on a car, but need cheaper insurance than that! Hope you can help Many Thanks""

Finding the cheapest health insurance to waive school health insurance?
Hello, My college requires that each and every student have health insurance or else they will put you on the school's health insurance - which costs $500 a semester. I've been trying to find an insurance company/plan that meet the requirements to waiver the school's health insurance. Does anyone know a cheap health insurance company/plan in Colorado that meets these requirements? 1. Outside plan must have an annual deductible of $1,500 or less (if it's a family plan, members must have an individual deductible of $1,500 or less). 2. Outside plan must be a Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan that covers medical care for both Injury and Illness, including outpatient AND inpatient medical services. (Non-Comprehensive policies such as Injury, Diagnosis, Cancer, Hospitalization or Catastrophic only plans DO NOT COMPLY). 3. Outside plan must have Mental Health Care Coverage that includes both inpatient and outpatient benefits that have the following minimum levels: Inpatient -- coverage of at least $10,000 or 45 days, Outpatient -- coverage of at least $1,000 or 20 visits.""

Do you think car insurance should be mandatory in all of the United States?
I live in Wisconsin. Car insurance is not required for cars trucks and anything else on the road. I think this is wrong with medical and car repair bills being so expensive these days. Why has my car insurance jumped up from 700 to 3000?

All quotes were comin up around 700 and 800 and 900 and up to about 1500. Now when I do quotes on 1.2 cars, or example an old 1994 ford fiesta and1.2 Peugeot kisser they are all coming up around 2000-3000 All my details are exactly the same ad two weeks ago. Will conservatives send back the refund on their health insurance to protest the Affordable Care Act?
Americans all across the country are receiving refunds from their health insurance providers (mine was $166). Included with the checks are letters explaining that the refund is the result of the Affordable Care Act. The Act requires health insurance companies to spend at least 80% of every dollar received on actual health care (I.e. not on administrative costs or CEO salary). Companies who fall below that cutoff must refund the difference to their policy holders. Will conservatives who receive such a refund send it back to protest the Act?

How much will insurance be for a MarkIV Supra TT?
"How much will insurance be for a MarkIV Supra TT?
I'm 19, I've never had any bad driving history that's recorded, I've been insured for two years. I'm single and have a job that can certainly afford the car. After looking around I've seen lot's of factors that affect the price but I'm just looking for a number for an answer. of course I'm not expecting it to be entirely accurate but I'm looking for anything close.

Can an insurance company drop your auto insurance any time?
I have had 3 claims in 4 years. The first two claims where while living in another state. I since moved and just put in my third claim today (first claim with this company). My insurance payment really isn't all that high, about $75 monthly. The lady told me today that it would go up 10% if the cost was over $750. (it will be) She said this didn't effect my insurability or anything, but what if I had another accident in a year?? The real question is, can an insurance company drop you for any reason at any time? Some have said no, only within the first 60 days, others say yes, absolutely any time. What's the right answer?""

Where can I find affordable health insurance for my son who has a mental illness.?
my son has a mental illness and maxed out of my husbands policy due to his age. He works 15 hrs. a week and his employer doesn't offer insurance for part time employees. Health care reform. Does it work?
Our new health care legislation is supposed to provide affordable health care and insurance for everyone. How exactly does that work? For example, I make about $37,000 a year. About $3200 of that goes to pay my insurance premiums. That's not really affordable, but, whatever. My job absolutely sucks. It's the worst one I've ever had. If I went to work at McDonald's or Wal-Mart, where would my affordable health care come from? Who decides how much I can afford to spend? No politician is going to be able to figure out how an ordinary American lives and what they can afford. I know this sounds like angry, bitter ranting, but it's a serious question. AAA insurance question.?
I signed up for insurance for a home when I bought it 7 years ago. I told them I wanted full replacement which is what you have to have in order to get a mortgage. 7 years ago when I went down there to sign papers I specifically told him that I wanted to make sure everything was at full replacement value and my husband wanted to make sure the roof had full replacement value. I told the insurance guy that he is a roofer so that was a main thing he wanted me to make sure we had. The insurance guy laughed and made a little joke about it. So now, 7 years later we had hail damage and guess what.. my house does have full replacement value and all our property inside has full replacement value everything but the roof. Hmmm..imagine that. So I am sure I signed papers without reading the contract, I just took his word for it. Is there anything I can do? I am going to report this to the local new station. The insurance guy out right lied to me. This is in oklahoma. Is there a district office in oklahoma? I googled it and couldn't find anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.""

HELP! Insurance company trying to low ball estimate?
Back in April I was driving and a lady tried switching lanes and struck my vehicle. I immediately went to an auto body shop and got an estimate for the damage, they took photos and everything. I've been contacting her insurance and dealing with this for over two months... I had to send them the police report because the woman tried lying and said I hit her, so I had to prove she was at fault. They would never return my calls. Until I talked to the field adjuster. He then called me yesterday told me he got the estimate from the body shop which was one of their recommended shops, and was mailing me the check for the damage. However he failed to tell me the check he was sending was for $1000 less than the estimate. I don't agree with this, what do I do? I called and no one will call me back from the company Also, I own my car outright. It's a 2004 tiburon is excellent condition. The insurance company was giving me issues about me wanting the check sent to me. I plan on getting the damages repaired that are necessary but leaving what isn't and keeping the money that's left over. I'm not even making them get me a rental for the time I don't have the car! Were you aware of what insurance companies are looking at to determine costs? How does quality of service factor into your final decision? Car Insurance Cost in NYC?
I have a question regarding car insurance. I'm 29 years old. I've been in 3 car accidents but was not at fault for any of them (2 of the times my car was sitting still! lol) and I've never gotten a ticket for any of those accidents. I used to have insurance through State Farm, full coverage for a 2004 Jeep Liberty that cost 50-60 a month in upstate NY. While driving to NYC one winter I got a speeding ticket, my first ticket ever! I was going I think 82(?) in a 65. This was just before I moved to NYC, and because I got the ticket in a podunk little county I was driving through I had no idea what the name was, the ticket flew out my door and I lost it. I figured they would mail me something else to tell me the payment was late but I never received anything else about it. Well I found out later it was because I moved, even though I moved about 2 months after the fact they wait quite a while to send another notice, and I never received it. Thus, my license was suspended but I never knew. I never got caught driving without it either. So I moved here in 2007 with my Jeep which I was very behind payments for, and then it got towed away for alternate side parking BS. I could have borrowed the money back then to pay to get it out but I let it go. Alright so long story short, I don't have the truck, it was auctioned. I'll be done paying for it through a collection agency settlement offer this May. If I had kept the truck, I would be paying 200+ more a month than I pay now, and I wouldn't have been done paying it til August 2011. Plus I would have had to pay to catch it up the 3 months I was behind, plus pay my boyfriends brother back who was willing to lend me the money to get it out of the car jail (lol) I had the suspension lifted last July so I could rent a car, again no issues. So I'm thinking of buying a 2,000 car (cash! I learned my lesson) in June when I'm done paying for the truck and I want to get no fault insurance. I know it will be a lot more here then what I used to pay, and in addition I now have a suspension that wasn't there before. How much do you guys have to pay for your insurance, if it's not too much information to ask? And how much do you think mine might be, or compare your cost and history to mine? Thanks.""

Put to the test
My good hands and my own mental strength are being put to the test in the hardest way.
And in the midst of it, I can only be extremely grateful for my Good Hands. Both my ability to be as independent as I possibly can and their ability to take care of me when I absolutely need it are being tested right now. I’m going to need all that I can get, and the part that makes me start thinking maybe I can like humans again just a little bit more is that they are giving me all that they can.
My father is going to be going in for heart surgery next month. Triple bypass, to combat 4 blockages in the arteries of his heart. It’s the only major surgery he’s ever had. It’s the only time I’ve ever had to face the illness of anybody close to me. It’s the only time anybody’s illness has ever had a direct effect on all aspects of my life. In the eyes of legality, my father is my primary caregiver. He handles the transportation, the finances, the education, and anything that requires interaction with government agencies and departments. He may be emotionally distant and unable to implement the behavior plans, carry out the daily routines and care protocols, and interact with the therapists and the specialists. That’s what my soulbonds are for. But that does not change the fact that he is an extremely important entity in my life, who handles major aspects of it that I am unable to manage on my own, and he will be out of commission for 4 to 6 weeks.
This is stupid. I’m already thinking of him in terms of his ROLE in relation to my life. Son of a bitch, I hate that. I absolutely hate that I don’t know how to think of him in any other way. He’s getting fucking major surgery and I still can’t think of him outside of “His role is going unfulfilled.” Fuck me sideways with a spiked barb. Well, I know part of it is because I don’t want to start thinking about the implications of the illness or the surgery itself. Dad told me specifically that he does not want me to be worried about this because he isn’t worried and the doctors aren’t worried, and he does not want this interfering with my life and my summer. In fact, the number one thing he worried about is how my needs are going to be taken care of while he’s healing. Not the surgery itself. Not the illness. I’m so fucking mad at myself that I can’t think of him the right way.
There’s a lot that’s going to have to be done, and a lot that we’re going to have to prepare for as the weeks leading up to the surgery approach. We are already making phone calls. I’ve reached out to my social worker, the family support place that I’ve been in contact with for the past 4 months (who still have yet to find a worker for me, but I told them that the situation has increased in urgency and to drop any of the stupid preferences I had and give me WHOEVER they can find), my therapist, and all of my community support programs, all of whom are staffed by people who are in the field and who would be aware of resources for special needs adults in the community. My soulbonds have been doing their own research, throwing me names and phone numbers, briefing me on what to say once I’m on the phone (because I very often don’t know myself, and end up sounding like a drunk idiot). Grocery shopping has been covered thanks to the brilliant “shop from home” program our supermarket has...no driving necessary, just pay a small fee and your groceries will be delivered right to your door. We’re contacting every freaking organization in my area that offers special needs support services such as, y’know, transportation. The thing that gets me is that not a single person has said “Sorry, you’re screwed, go rot.” Even the places that told me they aren’t able to do it because my insurance will not cover it (the ONE insurance that covers these things, I am ineligible for), they always direct me somewhere else, “Because we don’t want you to have to go without.” I have an entire list of names and numbers now, including people I know personally who may not be able to help directly but will be able to direct me to someone who can. My former staff member from one of my community centers now works at an organization that offers various services for special needs people. Though I am ineligible for that specific organization’s services (ineligible for the insurance that covers it), since she works in the field, she may have an answer for me.
I’m going to have to start being functionally independent. I’m going to have to start doing things I never had to do before. I’m going to have to be responsible for the things my dad cannot do anymore while he is healing. Trash. Grocery shopping. Cleaning up the kitchen. Laundry for both of us, not just me. Cleaning up the dishes. Probably cooking, as my dad does 98 percent of the household meals. But my soulbonds are here watching over me every step of the way. I may not know how to do all of this stuff (but I do know how to do most of it!), but they do. They can tell me if I’m fucking up at a recipe. They can tell me when it’s time to take the trash out, help me with the dishes, let me know when this task must be done at this time, remind me when I accidentally leave something unattended. And I’m going to have to find someone who can get me around. He won’t be able to get me anywhere for 4 to 6 weeks. I’m gonna need to keep money put aside for transportation payments.
And then there’s plenty of other things to take into account...
But this is a test.
We’re going to take things as they come.
We’ve got adequate time to prepare and set everything in place.
Everything is hopefully going to turn out okay in the end.
Ideally, this will not put our lives entirely on hold. Only require sacrifices and commitments...
I’m going to force myself to have faith in my AMAZING support system who, as I said, is going above and beyond the call of duty now that they are really and truly needed. I’m going to force myself to have faith in my soulbonds, have faith that they will be able to take care of me as my life changes and I go up and down the inevitable mental and emotional rollercoasters that this is going to cause. I’m going to go out of my way to listen to my dad and not let this worry me, or end my life, or ruin my summer. He’s not worried. The doctors aren’t worried. The last thing he wants is for me to be worried, or to put my entire life on hold for this. I’m going to force myself to have faith in the doctors. I’m going to pray each and every single night for my dad’s recovery and that we’re all going to turn out okay.
This is a test.
Please let us pass.
