Background:

Nergal Zyme was born into wealth, both a blessing and a curse. As the heir of the Zyme family, Nergal was raised to take over the pharmaceutical company owned by his father Dietrich. From a young age Nergal struggled with a variety of medical complications throughout his life and was often in and out of school. Due to this, he never really made any friends and much of his time was spent alone; his neglectful parents would rather throw money and gifts at him than to indulge in quality time. When he wasn't alone, he was under the care of personal nurses who often regarded him with apathy. These factors all contributed to Nergal finding a deep fascination with human biology.

To further his studies and learn how to beat the clock on his own terminal illness, Nergal went to college. There he met his lab partner, and friend (former), Odious. The pair began an uneasy friendship based on mutual benefits: Odious couldn't afford his textbooks, and Nergal didn't want to do homework unrelated to his field. After college, they moved in together and set up a lab to conduct their own individual research and development. During this time Nergal made a breakthrough on a serum that could delay his illness, the final product of which is in use on the apparatus he presently wears. Meanwhile Odious was finishing his rift generator when on the night of its first official test run, the machine malfunctioned, causing an explosion that not only wiped out the lab but stranded the pair of them in other dimensions.

Now stuck in this dimension, Zyme quickly built up his wealth and established himself on the islands where he continues to conduct his research to further improve himself (and others if it benefits him).

Personality:

The man has an ego as big as his muscles with a penchant for being a show off. He tends to be loud and flamboyant, always vying to be the center of attention. His display of attention seeking behavior has him often doing or saying things that will earn him the attention he craves...even if it's negative. Zyme is generally very self centered and often struggles with sympathy. He also struggles with reading people and has a tendency to miss social cues. He may appear confident on the surface, and vehemently tries to act like it, but deep down he's really trying to be something that he isn't. He wears a mask and loathes to reveal his emotions to others as he believes he will be perceived as pathetic and weak; something he never wants to feel ever again.

You are absolutely right

"objectively physically attractive but in possession of negative rizz" is one of my favorite character concepts. i think it's so great when there's an absurdly hot person who's just a complete fucking loser. the mood is unsalvageable the moment they open their mouth kind of deal. you get no bitches because you're so sucks.

Nolie Twine, aka N Twine pun on Entwine. N Zyme already taken. N Dure is other option if it doesn’t stick. Character is associated with medical thread and needles due to chimera creations.

Previously was test subject twenty years prior for an unspecified corporation to make animal hybrids. Participated due to high payout. Would soon become obsessed replicating her experiences and creates various chimeras who do all her bidding. She sees them as pets. Think a fucked up cat lady mad scientist. Refuses to use humans for experiments from finding it pointless and humans being a hassle to control. Currently undecided role regarding game series and its characters. Previous ideas are not true anymore. Personality relatively stays the same (likes being hated by others, introvert obsessed with research, smug, potentially manipulative, and not prioritizing her own safety).
