While the common saying is "Igbo enwe eze" which translates to "Igbo have no king," historically, some Igbo communities did have kings, particularly in areas like the Nri kingdom, and the title for a king in Igbo is "Eze"; however, the Igbo society as a whole is often described as having a more decentralized power structure with strong emphasis on communal decision-making, not resembling a traditional monarchy in many parts of Igboland. 

"Igbo enwe eze":This proverb is widely used to signify that the Igbo people did not have a centralized kingship system across all Igbo communities. 

Existence of kings in some areas:Certain Igbo groups, like the Nri people, had a well-established kingship with a ruler called the "Eze Nri" who held significant ritual power. 

Decentralized power structure:Most Igbo communities had a system of leadership based on councils of elders, where power was distributed more evenly rather than residing solely with a single king. 

After years of experimentation, the kingship system has come to stay in Igboland. Most Igbo communities now have their own kings(Traditional Rulers), who preside over their traditional and cultural affairs.

Thinking about Wukong and Alkebu-lan's dynamic during her time as Marshal Ma is so funny to me. Cause the baboon really strove to keep things strictly professional between them, meanwhile the ever impulsive monkey king was low-key annoyed that this old monkey kept rejecting his invites to parties/adventures and avoiding having private conversations with him.

Truly it was an unstoppable force meets an immovable object kind of scenario.
