The air around you smells of carrion. Adrenaline floods through your body - what horror will be brought before you? Beneath, the ground bubbles with a dank, marshy substance, the mud of a battlefield spattered with gore. And rising from it is a creature all of bone and flayed skin, exposed eyes wild with vengeance. They bear claws like daggers on each jointed finger, jagged teeth protruding from their cavernous mouth. "Come," they say, and their voice is a death rattle. "There is war to be waged. There is a battle to be won. Come and smell the defeat of your foes." They reach for you, take your hand in their vice grip, their blood smearing your hand crimson to the wrist. You try to protest that you have no foes - but no, it isn't true. You have foes aplenty. Vile people without whom the world shall be a better place. Your blood sings for their slaughter. The flayed one tips back their head in a joyful, bellowing laugh; it rings out with the sound of trumpets. "Now!" they cry, as your skin peels from your bone. "Now!" they call, as your fingers harden to steel. "Now!" they shout, as red veins shoot through your eyes. "To battle! To war!"

Love seeing those lists of everything available at the library, like Kanopy and Hoopla and tools and seed packets and sports equipment and musical instruments and I dunno fuckin cryogenics or whatever,

and thinking, Must be nice to live in a place where libraries have An Actual Budget because libraries are Valued By Their Citizens who are willing to pay Their Fair Share of taxes to support public services

Our library (and all of our city government offices) is in a repurposed shopping mall that was built in the 1970s (*actually I think it was built before this. I think it became City Hall in the '70s.). It's literally falling apart. Internal walls have collapsed inside. It's nowhere near earthquake safe. There's no room to expand to meet the drastically increased population. A few years ago, the library board presented a plan to build a brand new building, with a lot picked out and everything,a whole prospectus with cool building features. But they needed tax-payer approval. So it failed. Because the people in my town hate doing anything that might benefit others.

Must be nice. Must be reeeeeaaaaaaal niiiiiiiiice.

Your art is something I want to strive for in my visual artworks, from the way your lines flow thick and thin and how they look like they’re spun so brilliantly to look so smooth and lively. The way they CURVE. OOUGH!!!

There’s also the fact that the shading is wonderful, how the marks melt together into gradients and values and appear so consistent while doing so! It’s INSANEEEE!!

The way lips are drawn are so gorgeous and the hair… THE HAIRRRR IT’S SO AAUGHUAHH!!!

I adore the different body shapes and diversity amongst the characters you draw too, it’s something I want to get better at and really admire from artists who do.

I don’t know too much about the fandoms you draw for but I’m trying to get into the locked tomb!! I hope this gives me a newfound appreciation for the art you make!

Part of me wonders if Meghan realizes her US PR team seemed to be working against her interests at times. They did what PR teams do… they leaked info to their sources to get eyeballs on their client.

For those who don’t know… Sunshine Sachs is a PR firm, yes. But they specialize in crisis and reputation management. Celebs hire them when shit is about to hit the fan. And they handled everything with Megxit as if it was a crisis. They came out swinging. And maybe there was no need to? Maybe they didn’t need to so aggressive position The Sussexes as victims … maybe they could have just been like “hey these 2 are kind of over it, they need a break.” @emmashouldbewriting wrote something really great about it the other day - that if they had said “Meghan isn’t adjusting well and we’re going to take some time to step back while we start our family.”

But they didn’t. They came out trying to burn the place down because they wanted to make sure they were victims and not villains.

Then I'm at least going first~! Vanilla is wonderful as a trainer~. Though he's lucky to have me as a Pokémon~! I know he loves my fluffiness~. And I'm proud of that~. But I don't want them to get too used to it~! So I ration it out for special days~. Otherwise... he likes my songs too~! Which makes me happy~!

V is . . . tough to describe . Dear sibling . Great trainer . Frustratingly stubborn and a worrier . Too quick to trust anyone who's nice to her . Trying so hard to be good . To help . I would not trade them for any trainer or Pokémon on this planet . But they frustrate me .

Vanilla is friendly... He never overworks me and remembers my favorite things... But he does keep tripping over me... So that's a negative...

I still have a lot to say to them!! I still feel like there's a gap!! But they make me want to try!! Which is more than my old trainer......

Why not like Vanilla? She gives me tasty treats!

He is not my trainer, but... I respect his drive to improve himself and to assist others in their journeys of self-improvement. She will need that sort of strength. I think they ought take this a bit more seriously, but I suppose I am requesting a lot of them.

At the end of 2020, an anonymous friend commissioned a cameo for me from this guy as a Christmas/birthday present. (For those of you who don't know, Cameo is a platform through which celebs of all ilks can be commissioned to make videos for their fans, do digital meet-and-greets, etc.) JR was only told my name, that I'd had a rough year and needed a pick-me-up, and that I loved his voice... so he chose to read to me by firelight (still very much not over that, by the way). Unbeknownst to him, he had picked one of my favorite books to read from: "Silence in the Age of Noise" by Erling Kagge.

Over the autograph table at Howler Con on June 12th, I got to tell JR in person just how much that video meant to me, and how I watch it every time things get overwhelming - which, considering the state of the world and my health, has been happening a lot lately - and it helps me re-center myself. When I told him he'd read to me from one of my favorite books, he asked, "Wait, did I know about the book?" "No, you had no idea!" I told him. "It was like you somehow knew EXACTLY what I needed to hear in that moment." I was starting to get choked up at this point, tears welling in my eyes. He grabbed his arm, looked up at me with wide eyes, and said, "I just got CHILLS." He stood up, repeating "wow" over and over, and proceeded to clamber over the table to envelop me in a HUGE bear hug, kissing me on the cheek before finally letting go. "Thank you so much for sharing that with me," he said. "We're connected, you and I." *cue me clutching my chest and trying to remember how to breathe*

I walked away from that encounter feeling like maybe, just maybe, this broken, hurting world isn't SO bad after all, if people like *him* exist in it.

Jr Bourne, thank you for being the beautiful, kind, gentle, generous soul that you are. The world needs more people like you in it. I will treasure this sweet, precious experience for the rest of my life. 💛

P.S. Your eyes and smile are DAZZLING, your beard is IMPECCABLE, and your booty is POPPIN'. 😘

P.P.S. To the friend who commissioned that cameo (who has chosen to remain anonymous to this day), I can never thank you enough! 😭

P.P.P.S. @angel-in-a-big-blue-box had to ask JR if we could do the pose in the second photo, even though it was my idea, because I was barely functioning at that point and FAR too sheepish. 😅 He was totally on board with it, and, after the photo was taken, he grinned at me, said, "I stuck it out a little," and winked. I nearly DIED.

P.P.P.P.S. Notice the silver, fleur-de-lis clasp belt I'm wearing? I pointed it out to him before the first photo was taken, and his response was, "Niiiiiiiiice!" *cue ear-splitting grin* I had to rep my fave fictional husband for my photo with his actor! ⚜️💙
