Are you really Neil Gaiman? Why are you on Tumblr?
Nobody is really Neil Gaiman. Nobody is actually on Tumblr. I trust this clears everything up.

The man takes no prisoners and i love it.
That is exactly why tumblr is so cathartic; the screaming into the void and no one giving a shit about it. It's the best part of it.
After the fact that we have Neil Gaiman. Doesn't get any better than that.

Realised the whole world doesn't know about David Tennant looking like a fennec fox/being several fennec foxes in a trench coat when I was watching a show with my family that showed fennec foxes and I went "Oh my god its David Tennant, and so I got several weird looks
I made this with a few of the images from @fennecfoxdavid to show to my brother and he "doesn't get it"
Tumblr media
It made me realise that its really only a tiny portion of the world is aware of this lovely fact, and I am both happy and sad because of it. Happy that I am apart of the group who witnesses it, but also sad that the entire world doesn't know
So followers (and others who see this post I guess) if you haven't seen it before (despite me rebloging the account several times) here, is David Tennant, who is a fennec fox.

“Haha isn’t it funny that Neil Gaiman is the only celebrity we haven’t run off this site?” Actually no, it isn’t funny that tumblr has repeatedly launched harassment campaigns against every vaguely popular person who dared to be accessible and no, we didn’t “decide to let Neil stay”, he’s received a metric shitton of harassment he just refuses to be bullied off of social media by a bunch of teenagers with nothing better to do than to be shitty to people online just because they’re there

Heart-Warmed and Teary-Eyed: Kindness Matters
I have a P.O. Box that I check once a week. Right now, I mostly use it for letter correspondence with my friend @always-coffee—a tremendous published poet and beautiful human I met by chance online.
Monday she said she mailed her latest letter. So, I stopped by the Post Office on the way home from dropping the kids at school on the off-chance it made it through USPS faster than normal.
I found no letter inside, but a flyer from the Post Office saying they were holding something for me that wouldn't fit in the box. I wondered if Ali had sent a letter that was too tall (because she has such amazing stationary). I had no idea what was about to happen.
I glimpsed the package as they pulled it from a cabinet and wondered what on earth Ali sent me. That was not a letter.
Then I saw The Golden Notebook Bookstore label and knew it was something @neil-gaiman related.
Tumblr media
For those who don't know (normal people who don't follow Neil on social media, for example), that is the local bookstore near Neil's home in New York. He periodically signs books for them that are sold with zero markup.
I am a fan of Neil as a writer, but also as a human. I don't follow many celebrities—a side effect of my set-kid youth—but I did follow Neil last year during the WGA Strike. Been a fan of his for ages, and Neverwhere is my favorite book.
Ali knows all this, and I just knew she had done something sneakily sweet.
I rushed home with a smile on my face, trying desperately not to set off the speed-trap on the road back. Let me tell you, driving speed limit when excited is not easy for me!
When I finally whipped into my driveway and sprinted into my house, I carefully opened the package (more excruciating slowness) and tried not to cry happy tears when I saw what was inside. Wrapped tenderly in bubble-wrap rested... a book.
What You Need to be Warm is a poem Neil wrote that features illustrations from some of the best artists in the industry. That in itself is wonderful. But the mission of this little book is what is so amazing.
See, the sale of every copy supports UNHCR—the UN Refugee Agency. This book literally helps people when you buy it.
Tumblr media
I have wanted to buy a copy for ages, but you all know I thrift and buy books secondhand. I didn't want to do that with this book.
I wanted to buy it outright to ensure the maximum amount of money went to support the cause. So, I have been waiting until we were a little more stable so I could buy it full-price, outright.
Thanks to Ali, I have a copy that was purchased outright (so it helps people in need) and it is signed!
Tumblr media
Yes, it's a signed copy with pen bleed on the opposite page, and all.
I would never do something like this for myself. You all know I am woefully practical and doing things for myself isn't second-nature. I’m working on it, but it is slow coming reprogramming a lifetime of behavior. So gifts like this... oh, they mean everything.
I am overwhelmed with gratitude that such a kind soul would do something like this for me. Thank you, Ali.

finally following neil gaiman is so fucking funny cause i have read basically none of his works despite respecting him as an author and for sure being inspired by him as a fantasy writer purely by cultural osmosis, but instead of following an author i look up to i ended up just following another tumblr user which is pretty awesome

could you talk about david jenkins posting about our flag means death? someone said it's not scabbing because only sag aftra has a rule about *promoting* struck work, whereas wga doesn't - is that true? thank you!
Yes, that person was correct! [Here's a helpful source.] SAG-AFTRA has a no-promo rule for its members (and member hopefuls, including social media influencers) because celebrity marketing is such a huge part of what actors do these days. Work stoppage for actors means no promo, except for in the case of interim agreements.
Writers, on the other hand, are already really divorced from their creations, to the detriment of the public view of writers. The WGA leadership decided it would be worse to further divorce writers from their work by implementing a no-promo rule, so they allow WGA members to post about their shows, as long as it's not something they're doing at the behest of studios! David Jenkins, Neil Gaiman, etc. are totally fine to post about their shows during the strike.

This Month Has Been a Year
Hey folks, I got a lot going on, so my social media has been somewhat quiet of late.
I am prioritizing important personal stuff, and need to concentrate on the Good Omens graphic novel work. You can learn more HERE.
It has NOT been released yet, and the link will allow you to sign up to be notified when the Kickstarter goes live.
Tumblr media
You will not be bombarded with newsletters.
I am one of the most active creators on Patreon and have over 1620 posts. Until things going behind the scenes have calmed down, I must restrict most of my online activity to my Patreon. Sneak peeks, talks with readers, etc. Some of those posts are behind the dreaded paywall, but many are public.
I hate to be mysterious, but things are kind of heavy, and I am grateful to have the support of Neil Gaiman, all the nice folks at Dunmanifestin, and the kind readers who are generously anticipating the Good Omens graphic novel release.
You raise me up.
ADDENDUM: All my appearances at San Diego Comic Con are canceled.

Hi!
Wait.
Hang on.
Sorry.
Bit confused here - I keep seeing posts saying things such as 'Neil Gaiman has no social media' and other words that come to a similar conclusion. However, Mr. Neil Gaiman does, in fact, have a social media. Mr. Neil Gaiman has multiple social medias. I have seen them. They are easily found on Google.
So why do you supposedly not have any social medias? And if you do not have any social medias and this is all an elaborate hoax set up by the ghost of Sir Terry Pratchett and the not-ghost of Michael Sheen in order to play an amusing trick on Mr. Neil Gaiman by convincing the world that he has a Tumblr account, along with various others on various other social medias, then please inform me. I would be most grateful.
Sincerely, a rather confused being
It's hard to explain, especially because the original post has now vanished. But I have searched the web, from lowest to highest, and found this for you, which will, I hope, explain everything.

The main floor of the Harold Washington Library Center, Chicago's big flagship downtown public library, has a wall of photos of various famous writers who have visited. Whenever I walk through on my way to the study rooms, I see the photos and think to myself, "Why is Tumblr cryptid and internet friend-to-all Neil Gaiman's giant photo on the wall of the library?"
Then I remind myself that's a silly thing to ask.
Everyone knows Neil Gaiman has no social media.

Hello, everyone!
In light of Neil Gaiman's comment that Amazon is close to officially renewing Good Omens but hasn't done so yet, I think those of us who can should start sending physical postcards to Amazon Studios!
The TL;DR of this post is that you can easily send a postcard from MyPostcard.com for about $3 (USD, I'm sure other currencies can vary). The Web site will print and mail it for you, so you don't have to do any printing or mailing yourself. The postage is included in the $3.
If you don't already have an image or card you want to use, you can just use one of mine above. Some of them are small because of small source images, but the site seems to resize them appropriately for the card. There are bigger versions in a Google Drive folder that you shouldn't have to be logged in to see.
You can send the postcards asking for a third season of Good Omens addressed to Jennifer Salke and Vernon Sanders, co-heads of Amazon Studios, at:
AMAZON STUDIOS 1620 26TH STREET, SUITE 4000N SANTA MONICA, CA 90404 USA
@fuckyeahgoodomens was the first to post this contact information for Amazon, so thank you, Ixi.
If it's something you don't mind, I would very deeply appreciate reblogs on this, since it works better if lots of people see it! No pressure if you don't want to, though.
And if you have Questions, click through below for my reasoning on all this.
Why should we send postcards to Amazon Studios?
We've made lots of noise online about renewal, and we've done a lot of streaming Good Omens. But I haven't seen much discussion of sending physical mail or, specifically, postcards.
Mail takes up space in the real world. It's slightly harder to ignore than email. It's way more attention-grabbing than posts on X or Tumblr or any other social media site. Because postage is required, physical mail can also appear more "committed."
Postcards specifically are great because of their convenience for the recipient. No one has to open them to read them. All it takes is a quick glance to see what we're asking for, and realistically, a quick glance is the best we can ask for in a corporate office. That's why I'm emphasizing postcards over regular letters (although really, anything helps).
Is sending postcards really going to motivate Amazon to make more Good Omens?
Postcard and letter-writing campaigns have helped get shows renewed in the past. Star Trek: The Original Series is a good example of a series that got another season after a letter-writing campaign. This article has more examples.
We don't actually know what's going on in Good Omens's case. Maybe postcards would make a difference; maybe they wouldn't. We can only make our most determined effort at making sure we're heard, and sending mail is part of that.
The cost of sending a postcard is too much for me.
I understand that sending a postcard will not be an option for many of us. This post isn't intended to try to push you into spending money you don't have. If you still want to find a way to participate, you can also send an email to [email protected] with your comments about wanting Good Omens 3. It's not physical mail, but it is still a personal message from a customer.
In fact, people who are sending postcards might want to follow up with an email, too.
Do we have to use your postcard designs?
No! Not necessarily! You can use anything.
As long as the message you write includes how much you want Good Omens 3, your postcard's image doesn't necessarily have to relate. You could send a souvenir postcard that says "Greetings from Los Angeles, CA / Tadfield, England / etc" from your local post office and just write your message on the back.
Technically, even a plain index card should be thick enough to mail as a postcard, at least by USPS standards. Just write your desire for Good Omens 3 on it, put a stamp and Amazon's address on it, and make sure it's at least 90mm x 127mm (3.5in x 5in).
Isn't Amazon Studios going to notice a bunch of postcards being mailed from the same Web site?
I'm sure they will. But the messages will each be unique, and again, they'll know each card represents a person who had to order the card and postage themselves.
Speaking of unique messages, what should I write?
One sentence is enough. Definitely indicate that you want Season 3 of Good Omens. If you want to add more, you could also write a sentence or two about how much you love the series so far.
Above all, be polite and straightforward! Remember that sarcasm and jokes often do not come across well in print, so it may be best to stick with simple statements that can be taken at face value.
What address should the cards go to?
The co-heads of Amazon Studios appear to be Vernon Sanders and Jennifer Salke; you can address them by name, although I'm guessing it will be someone else who does the reading/glancing.
Amazon Studios's address is:
AMAZON STUDIOS 1620 26TH STREET, SUITE 4000N SANTA MONICA, CA 90404 USA
Where did you get these images?
The images for the nightingale postcard and the Crowley postcard are screencaps from directedbypiper.
The Please Do Not Lick the Walls and Fell the Marvelous posters were downloads from the Amazon X-Ray feature.
The Nice and Accurate Prophecies postcard was adapted from cover art I did for A Nice and Interpretive Fanzine. Most of it is my own, although the mottled background is an extremely blurred version of a free stock texture from Pixabay, users chrisfiedler and/or humusak.
The bookshop postcard is a promotional image from Amazon used in a Den of Geek article.

Let me be so for real for a minute. I grew up in a homophobic and transphobic household. Now, there’s a lot I could speak on in relation to this time of my life and how even now it’s affects me. But instead I want to share something pertaining to the fandom I have found myself in recently.
Good Omens was on my list of shows to watch since it came out all those years ago. Honestly, I was a Supernatural fan, I yearned for nothing more then a good on screen queer angle lol. Of course I couldn’t not at home. I couldn’t risk it. It was funny, some family members were Michael Sheen fans. That meant watching a lot of things he was in and every time I would be thinking about Good Omens and how much I wanted to be able to see it. But after a while I did kind of forget that it exists. Then I stumbled back onto this lovely little chaotic app. Following a lot of writing based accounts and tags it didn’t take long to come across Neil Gaiman’s account, even though he doesn’t use social media. Seeing him answer asks about GO made me go “Oh! Finally!” And start streaming it immediately.
Of course I fell in love. Growing up being shamed by my family for simply being a little “strange”, plot twist I am just neurodivergent, hurt a little less watching Aziraphale constantly being ridiculed by the other angles for his human tastes. Cause if he is still a good character/person/angel, even if a little “weird”, that means I can be good too. Watching Crowley get cast away for asking questions was relatable as well. But guess what? If he can go off and make a life for himself with his love and independence then so can I. Does this mean Aziraphale and Crowley don’t have a ton of healing and growth still to do? Absolutely not. But I am sure they will get through it, and so will I.
Now here’s where it gets a little tricky, figuring out how to express how much the fandom means to me. Hearing other stories, headcannons, and character analysis makes me feel less alone for starters. But even on a less dramatic note, it just so nice to be able to revel in our mural love for this show! After all these years of wanting to watch I finally get to join in on the fun! And I am so so so grateful for that. I love it here.
P.s. as someone still coming to terms with my gender identity, seeing David be so vocal about his support of trans rights and wearing his little non-binary pride pin has made me feel so much better.

Hello my fair lady. I am but a feeble mortal who has been consumed by this rabbit hole we deem Good Omens and it does not seem that I will be seeing the light of day anytime soon.
Please may I ask where the actual fuck do I start with this fandom.
Hiya! :) Um... anywhere you like? :D
We have brilliant 1 book written 30 years by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman (you can get standard book, illustrated book or listen to audiobook which exists in normal form or as full audiocast with David and Michael :)).
We have a glorious TV Show with two seasons (will be final and third, Neil currently writing it) on Amazon Prime :). To the first season of the show there exist the Companion book and a Script book, both marvellous :).
We have BBC4 dramatization :).
We have a musical in the making :).
We have Funkos, hoodies, games, tarot cards and more merch :).
We have Neil who hangs out here on tumblr <3 :).
We have Cons :). (there is actually upcoming TIC5 that is in hybrid form - both online and in person)
And of course, we have a wonderful fandom full of incredibly talented artist, writers and creative people :).
I try to do a lot of tagging on my blog so it would be at least a bit navigatable, for example under the fun fact tag you can find any and every interesting bits about creating Good Omens or under the jokes there is my shitposting with which I am trying to make ppl laugh :D<3.
I find tumblr the most pleasant social media to share stuff and organize blog on and twitter the most toxic one, and we are also on bluesky, instagram, threads :). Check this is you are interested in discord servers :).

hellooo, some reassuring words 🫶 so, i know the upfronts have us all gone crazy and i totally get it - it would be great for my mental health to get renewal news asap too. maybe you've heard that 3 body problem was renewed, a show that came out a month earlier than dead boy detectives (congrats to them). a renewal for dbd now would be veeery earlier (but appreciated so give it to me) - less than a month after the show has been released. they did say dbd is getting mentioned so if it hasn't been so far, who knows what's to come? the list on twitter mentioned shows that were gonna come out later this year. we know for a fact that we're not getting a second season this early so no wonders it wasn't included. the press release also didn't mentioned the sandman and we know that has been renewed and is definitely gonna come out.
upfronts aside, have you all noticed that every social media account - netflix, warner bros, etc. - have been talking about dead boy detectives season 1 specifically? now, coming from the lockwood fandom i can tell you that this is a very good sign. like very good. lockwood has been canceled about 3 months after its release with no mention on social media, they were trying to pretend that show never existed. keep in mind that we're just 3 weeks after dbd release and we are getting lots of interviews and social media posts. would've been great to get that before the show was released but at this point i take all that i can get. we've also all noticed that netflix has a shit record of canceling fantasy/ghost shows so at this point it seems like they may need to prove a point. a huge part that is worth a mention and may help us with a renewal is the big part of the queer community + variety of characters. what might also help is that people like sza or misha collins have shown love and support and actively asked for a second season.
views on the show may have not been what we hoped for but: have you taken a closer look at the top 10 for this week (may 6 - 12) specifically? 4th - 10th place have less than 5 million views. and remember, they're the top ten + most watched shows for this week. dbd had 4.7 million views in it's first week of release (april 29 - may 5) which is - again, lower than 5 million - but ranked top 3 with that. people have been very vocal about the fact they're reluctant to start a new show because of cancelation news. and numbers like this definitely show that and how hesitant everyone is. i'm pretty sure netflix is aware of that or has at least seen concern online. every comment section is filled, asking for season 2. and i'm sure a renewal announcement as soon as possible would lead to a major boost in views. it would switch from "i don't want to watch this show because i might not get more" to "i know another season will come out so i'm definitely gonna watch it now".
also, neil gaiman is included & it is part of the sandman universe. i don't think that needs further explanation.
i could very well mention even more but i do think we're good for now.
with love - your optimistic capricorn
