My So-Called Terrorism
Are you watching Homeland? None of my friends are and I'm giddy to talk to someone about it. Claire Danes has returned to TV on a weekly basis and this time all the emotion Angela Chase kept internalized, CIA agent Carrie Mathison has a hard time hiding it.
She is definitely passionate. About her job. When an Iraqi prisoner tells her an American prisoner of war has been turned and a Seal team just happens to find one, Carrie is hard to stop.
After 8 years in captivity Nicholas Brody is brought home and Carrie, so sure he's the POW her contact told her about, pays out of her own pocket to have his home bugged. I told you she was passionate. Her conviction helps convince her surly boss (Mandy Patinkin) to make her illegal actions legal.
Opposite Danes, as Brody, is Damian Lewis, criminally absent from TV since the cancellation of the brilliant Life. This time, I pray, we get to ride the wave of suspense until the mystery is solved. And it's intricate, especially with the folks behind 24 involved.
What I told someone the other day is this - Carrie is being painted as such a wildcard, even though she's with the CIA, you're not completely sure you should be behind her and Brody, although circumstance would have you believe he's a valiant soldier and perhaps even a hero, flashbacks are starting to suggest otherwise.
I really encourage you to take a look. Seriously.
P.S. Morena Baccarin of Firefly and V is also in the cast.
