To #battle! 🏹πŸ₯ŠπŸ€ΊπŸŒ…πŸ«πŸͺπŸ¦‚πŸ #kemet is a 2-5 player game designed by #jacquesbariot and #guillaumemontiage with art by #dimitribielak #emiledenis and #nicolasfructus. Published by #matagotgames and #asmodeegames. 🏹πŸ₯ŠπŸ€ΊπŸŒ…πŸ«πŸͺπŸ¦‚πŸ In Kemet, players take the rolls of Egyptian deities trying to win influence through controlling key points on the map (temples) and through prowess in battle. The game, for me, is a mixture of some of the best elements of #eurogames, with #actionpoint allowance, #areacontrol, #carddrafting, #resourcemanagement and #handmanagement all taking a pivotal role in your success or failure. Couple that with a heavy emphasis on combat, with a simple combat system, and you have a beautiful combination of interesting choices! In each round, players will have 5 action points, choosing and executing one each and repeating around the table until everyone has taken all 5. The actions are move (including teleporting using a pyramid), recruit (by paying X prayer points - the currency in Kemet - for X units), pray (gain 2 prayer points), level up your pyramid or buy a tile using your pyramids power level. It's these tiles that really draw attention, especially those with the monsters on! Each monster gives different bonuses, the scorpion, for example, is deadly in combat, whilst the snake negates all other creature effects in battle! It's this variability across the game that makes every choice feel valuable! 🏹πŸ₯ŠπŸ€ΊπŸŒ…πŸ«πŸͺπŸ¦‚πŸ Kemet is just brilliant. It's definitely a top 5 game for me. I've played it at 3 player a couple of times but last night had the pleasure of experiencing a 2 player game against the gracious Kemet newbie @monkeyball55. It turns out that at 2 Kemet is just as brutal, but also plays very quickly and the decisions are much more impactful to both sides almost immediately! Cannot wait to get this one to the table again!
