Everything We Know About the Veronica Mars Hulu Revival

Veronica Mars, UPN/CW’s cult hit series about a whip-smart teen detective, starring Kristen Bell, is returning with brand-new episodes in 2019. If that news makes you want to listen to The Dandy Warhols’ “We Used to Be Friends”—a.k.a. the original show’s theme song—on repeat out of sheer joy, you’re not alone: In the years since the 3-season drama aired its finale in 2007, fans’ insatiable demand for Veronica’s further adventures have spawned a Kickstarter-funded feature film and two novels. With a built-in audience this passionate, it’s no wonder Hulu has picked up a fourth season set to premiere this summer.

So what's Veronica up to now? Is she still dating Logan? Is her hometown of Neptune, California still a seaside cesspool full of secrets and corruption? Here’s everything we know so far about Veronica Mars season 4—and if you skipped the movie and books, mild spoilers below.

When does the new Veronica Marspremiere on Hulu?

Veronica Mars will be released on July 26, 2019. The season will consist of 8 one-hour episodes, and the first episode is titled “Spring Break Forever.”

Is there a trailer yet?

Hulu announced the premiere date on the show’s Instagram account in April, with a teaser video that finds Kristen Bell’s Veronica just as we remembered her: Seated behind her desk at Mars Investigations, the P.I. agency founded by her dad, brandishing her trusty taser. Oh how we missed these sardonic voice-overs.

Is the original cast returning?

Most of the core cast is back! Kristen Bell’s devotion to her breakthrough role remains unwavering, despite a busy schedule including NBC sitcom The Good Placeand a little Disney franchise known as Frozen. Enrico Colantoni is set to return as Veronica's father Keith Mars, and so are Percy Daggs III (Wallace Fennel), Francis Capra (Eli "Weevil" Navarro), Daran Norris (Cliff McCormack) and Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas). Ken Marino will be back as sleazy rival detective Vinny van Lowe. Jason Dohring (Logan) and Max Greenfield (Leo D’Amato) are also on board. So far there’s no sign of Tina Majorino as computer genius Mac—which is disappointing, since Mac rocks, and she’s basically Veronica’s only female friend.

There are notable new additions to the cast, too.

Comedian Patton Oswalt joins the cast as Penn Epner, a 40-something pizza delivery guy and “frequent poster on unsolved murder websites,” Deadline reports. Oscar winner J.K. Simmons has been cast as shady ex-con Clyde Pickett. Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Bell’s Good Place costar, will play Nicole, owner of a club popular with Neptune spring breakers. Westworld’s Clifton Collins Jr., The Fosters’ Izabela Vidovic, and Dawnn Lewis (a.k.a. Jaleesa from A Different World!) will also recur.

Creator Rob Thomas shared a peek at the revival's cast from the first table read back in November.

What's the reboot about?

According to Hulu’s description, "Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the parents of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into a mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.” New show, same familiar class-war themes.

How does it relate to the Veronica Marsbook series?

Taking place five years after the 2014 movie, this central mystery does sound a bit like the plot of the first Veronica Mars novel, The Thousand Dollar Tan Line. But Thomas maintains that it will be a fresh tale, tweeting that the books are “98% canon.”

Marcia Langdon and Pony—a puppy adopted by Logan—were both introduced in the pages of novel #2, Mr. Kiss and Tell. The end of that book also teased a potential love triangle between Veronica, on-again/off-again love Logan and her cop-turned-FBI agent ex Max, though whether that’ll play out onscreen remains to be seen.

Hulu's revival will be "much darker" than the movie.

“I will say this: the movie was nostalgic. The Hulu limited series isn't going to be,” Rob Thomas wrote on Twitter shortly after Hulu first announced the project. “Hardcore So-Cal noir. One big case. Eight episodes to tell the story. This is a detective show.”

While the series, books and movie always dealt with heavy topics including sexual assault and suicide, Bell confirms that things will somehow get “much darker.”

“It’s going to be a bigger world. It’s definitely not what we did on UPN or the CW, so I want to brace fans for that—that it’s going to be darker and bigger and more cinematic, and definitely a little bit different,” the actress told Entertainment Weekly’s Sirius XM show. Consider us braced.

The ace writing staff includes...Kareem Abdul Jabbar?

It’s true, and not as weird as it sounds: A vocal member of Bachelor Nation, the basketball legend has covered the show for the Hollywood Reporter in addition to co-writing books and a comic book series about Sherlock’s brother Mycroft Holmes. The writers’ room will also include Heather V. Regnier and Diane Ruggiero, writer and co-creator of Thomas’s other (fantastic) show iZombie respectively, and David Walpert, who’s written for another Kristen Bell series, House of Lies.

How can I re-binge previous seasons (or watch Veronica Mars for the very first time) ahead of the premiere?

You can stream the series on Amazon Prime and iTunes right this very minute, and Hulu subscribers can catch up when they add the show and the movie this summer.

Oh, one more thing: Why are Veronica Mars fans called Marshmallows?

It’s a reference to a line in the series’ pilot, in which Veronica’s new friend Wallace sees right through her gruff exterior and sums her character up in one iconic monologue: “Underneath that angry young woman shell, there's...a slightly less angry young woman who's just dying to bake me something. You're a marshmallow, Veronica Mars. A twinkie!”

Questa nuova gamma, che si compone di due pneumatici anteriori (Magi-X2 e Gum-X3D) e di un pneumatico posteriore (Gum-X3D), è estremamente polivalente. Semplifica l’uso e la scelta dei pneumatici, perché ogni rider possa correre in tutte le circostanze. Questa polivalenza offre la massima efficacia su terreni diversi, come quelli che si possono trovare nei boschi, ma anche su terreni umidi o sabbiosi, mentre la rigidità della carcassa offre il massimo di sicurezza su terreni duri e pietrosi.

Le due nuove gamme proposte e l’utilizzo misto della gamma Michelin Wild Enduro rispondono anche alle esigenze dei rider più esperti.

Considerato che il pneumatico anteriore fornisce nella precisione di guida l’80% del grip, il disegno dei tasselli è stato studiato per conferire progressione, adattamento al terreno e sicurezza in frenata, mentre la carcassa, che integra la tecnologia Gravity Shield, risponde agli elevati livelli di robustezza, comfort e sensazione di aderenza.

La scelta del pneumatico dipende anche dal livello di pratica. Il nuovo pneumatico Magi-X² è destinato ai più esperti, per il grip eccellente ad alta velocità, in frenata e in curva, in qualsiasi condizione del terreno (secco, bagnato…) e a qualsiasi temperatura.

Per il pneumatico anteriore, le diverse mescole GUM-X contribuiscono al piacere di guida in tutta sicurezza e in ogni situazione, e permettono di contare sempre su un ottimo grip e un perfetto equilibrio delle prestazioni. Grazie alla nuova architettura dei pneumatici GUM-X3D si ottiene la flessibilità ideale per il controllo delle traiettorie e un’eccellente polivalenza sul terreno, in estate come in inverno.

La tecnologia GUM-X3D è stata testata in alcune gare dell’Enduro World Series in cui non era necessario l’utilizzo della tecnologia MAGI-X².

Per il pneumatico posteriore, responsabile principale delle prestazioni, Michelin ha lavorato sul miglior equilibrio fra grip e robustezza, per ottenere un’estrema polivalenza di utilizzo. La scelta delle mescole che compongono il Gum-X3D si accorda perfettamente alla nuova architettura del battistrada e alla scultura del pneumatico, e integra prestazioni, grip e motricità. L’esigenza di rigidità del pneumatico posteriore ha determinato la scelta della nuova carcassa Gravity Shield, che è stata rinforzata al di sopra del cerchietto per ottimizzare le prestazioni del pneumatico posteriore. Il rinforzo (pinch protection) si trova al livello del tallone per conferire robustezza, permettere l’assorbimento di energia e attenuare i colpi e le pizzicature in curve difficili.

Sculture validate sul terreno della competizione

Le due nuove sculture Michelin Wild Enduro Front e Rear sono state testate e approvate dai rider Michelin in tutta la stagione 2017 dell’Enduro World Series. Grazie a queste sculture, i rider Michelin sono saliti sul podio in tutte le 8 prove, dalla fangosa Tasmania, passando dalla terra nera di Madeira, il terreno duro e le curve inclinate di Whistler, fino alla polvere e ai sassi di Finale Ligure.

La polivalenza della gamma Michelin Wild Enduro ha certamente facilitato la scelta delle sculture per i rider Michelin.

  La competizione mondiale come terreno di test

La gamma Michelin Wild Enduro è stata testata e approvata ai più alti livelli dell’Enduro mondiale. È stata infatti utilizzata dai rider Michelin in 6 delle 8 competizioni della stagione 2017 dell’Enduro World Series.

I rider Michelin Adrien Dailly e Jérôme Clementz hanno terminato la stagione ai primi 4 posti nella categoria Pro Men, categoria al vertice della disciplina.

Adrien Dailly è arrivato primo in Australia (Tasmania), Irlanda (County Wicklow) e Francia (Millau), mentre Karim Amour si è aggiudicato la leadership dei Men Master nelle stesse gare, come in Nuova Zelanda (Rotorua), Portogallo (Madeira) e negli USA (Aspen).

Altri rider EWS hanno portato in alto i colori di Michelin nelle categorie Women Under 21 con il terzo posto in classifica generale di Estelle Charles e Men U21con il terzo posto di Nathan SECONDI.

Altri rider ancora che hanno partecipato all’Enduro World Series hanno contribuito a sviluppare la gamma Michelin Wild Enduro: Bryan Regnier, Valentin Brulas, Remy Absalon, Elliot Trabac, Jose Borges, Alexandre Cure e Dimitri Tordo.

COUPE DE FRANCE 2017

Nella Coupe de France, i rider che utilizzano i Michelin Wild Enduro, Nicolas Querè, Dimitri Tordo e Camille Servant, si sono aggiudicati rispettivamente i tre primi posti.

FIFA honors 'heroes' in the fight against coronavirus with Pele and Maradona

FIFA has brought together 50 players and former football players to applaud the health professionals who have helped save lives during the new coronavirus pandemic. Idols Pelé and Diego Maradona are among the participants.

The King of Football and the Argentine star are the last to appear on the recording, which also includes the participation of other Brazilians, such as Ronaldo Fenômeno, Kaká, Marta, Cafu and Roberto Carlos.

“Some of the greatest soccer players of yesterday and today wanted to come together and express their admiration for the heroes of humanity, that is, for all those who are dedicated to saving our society and guaranteeing its functioning, despite the threat of the coronavirus,” he says FIFA in the statement in which it released the video.

SOLIDARIOS | Los jugadores que se han sumado a la campaña #CommonGoal de Juan Mata

Common Goal es el mayor reto solidario de la historia del fútbol y ya ha conseguido sumar a 17 futbolistas que donarán el 1% de su salario a un fondo común que apoya a organizaciones que utilizan el fútbol como herramienta de cambio social.

El pasado mes de agosto se lanzó el proyecto Common Goal de la mano de Juan Mata y bajo el amparo de la ONG Streetfootball que apoya a más de 120 organizaciones en 80 países que utilizan el fútbol como una herramienta de cambio social. Common Goal es una iniciativa que pretende que las personas vinculadas al mundo del fútbol que se unan a este proyecto donen el 1% de su salario a un fondo colectivo que apoya a esas organizaciones que ayudan al desarrollo social en las zonas más desfavorecidas.

El jugador del Manchester United fue el primero en unirse al proyecto y su objetivo es lograr que las personas que componen el mundo del fútbol (futbolistas, entrenadores, representantes…) se comprometan y donen ese 1%.

Y poco a poco lo está consiguiendo. En los tres meses de vida que tiene esta iniciativa 16 jugadores más le han seguido y donarán el 1% de su sueldo.

Después de Juan Mata se han unido Mats Hummels (Bayern de Munich), Girogio Chiellini (Juventus de Turín), Heather O’Reilly (Arsenal), Pauline Bremer (Manchester City), Jean Seninde (Crystal Palace), Nicole Regnier (América de Cali), Hasan Ali Kaldırım (Fenerbahçe), Alfie Mawson (Swansea), Charlie Daniels (Bournemouth), Megan Rapinoe (Seattle Reign), Serge Gnabry (Hoffenheim), Vero Boquete (PSG), Alex Morgan (Orlando Pride), Dennis Aogo (Stuttgart), Álex Brosque (Sydney), y Olga García (FC Barcelona).

La organización fue fundada en el año 2002 y tiene un impacto global de 2,3 millones de jóvenes en situación desfavorecida. Common Goal es el proyecto solidario más grande de la historia del fútbol y con lo que se recaude se ayudará al desarrollo de zonas desfavorecidas a través del fútbol.

Love that the colombia wnt question brought me to you!! You have a new follower 😌🤞🏾 I was born there but live in the US so I haven’t gotten to really see them in their full light, but when they came to play the US i went to see the US obviously but i couldn’t pass up seeing Regnier in person and i fell in love with the younger side of the generation 🙏🏽 they all are sooooooo nice 😭❣️
